| 1 | Keystone design perforator island flap in facial defect reconstruction显示文摘Facial defect coverage is a common subject in the field of reconstructive surgery.There are many methods for facial defect reconstruction,and reconstructive surgeons should choose the most appropriate method on a case-by-case basis to achieve both functional and aesthetic improvement.Among various options for facial reconstruction,the local flap technique is considered the best reconstructive modality to provide good tissue matches of color and texture,which is consistent with the ideal goal of reconstruction(replacement of like-with-like).Keystone design perforator island flap(KDPIF),devised by Behan in 2003,has been applied to various fields of reconstructive surgery in the past decade due to its design simplicity,robust vascular supply,and reproducibility.Several studies have reported KDPIF reconstruction of facial defects,such as large parotid defects,small-to-moderate nasal defects,and eyelid defects.However,KDPIF has been used relatively less in facial defects than in other body regions,such as the trunk and extremities.The purpose of this review is to provide an organized overview of facial KDPIF reconstruction including the classification of KDPIF,modifications,physiology,mechanism of flap movement,consideration of facial relaxed skin tension lines and aesthetics,surgical techniques,clinical applications,and precautions for successful execution of KDPIF reconstruction. | Soo Yeon Lim Chi Sun Yoon Hyun Gun Lee Kyu Nam Kim | 2020 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,10: | 5 |

| 10 | Extract from Zanthoxylum piperitum Induces Apoptosis of AGS Gastric Cancer Cells through Akt/MDM2/p53 Signaling Pathway显示文摘Objective:To determine the effect of Zanthoxylum piperitum extracet(ZPE)on apoptosis and analyze anticancer substances in ZPE,changes in proteins related to apoptosis,and pathological changes in tumors in mouse.Methods:Fifteen 4-week-old female BALB/c nu/nu mice were divided into 3 groups depending on ZPE dose,with 5 in each group.AGS gastric carcinoma cells(1 x 10^(6) cells/200 jxL)were subcutaneously injected into the flank of each mouse.One week after the injection of AGS cells,ZPE was administered to the skin tissue[10 or 50 mg/(kg-d)]in the low-and high-dose groups,respectively for 20 days.Control animals were injected with vehicle only.After 3 weeks,the tumor was extracted and carried out for immunohistochemistry,the tendency of apoptosis and p53 in the body was checked using TdT-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL)assay.For 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay,annexin V dead cell staining,cell cycle arrest and Western blotting,AGS gastric carcinoma cells were incubated with various concentrations of ZPE for 24 h.Cell survival rates were analyzed by MTT assays.Apoptosis was analyzed using annexin V dead cell staining and cell cycle arrest and measured using Muse cell analyzer.Results:High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)analysis showed that ZPE contained organic sulfur compounds such as alliin and S-allylcysteine.MTT assay results revealed that ZPE(10-85»xg/mL)could effectively inhibit the growth of AGS gastric cancer cells at higher concentrations(P<0.05,P<0.01).The annexin V&dead cell staining assay and cell cycle arrest assay confirmed a dose-dependent increase in the apoptosis rate and G!phase in ZPE(10-70 jig/mL)groups.ZPE decreased the expression of anti-apoptotic proteins(p-Akt,p-MDM2,Bcl-2),while increased pro-apoptotic proteins(cleaved PARP,p53,pro-Caspase 3,Bax).TUNEL assays revealed an increase in cell apoptosis.Immunohistochemistry staining confirmed the involvement of p53.Conclusion:ZPE decreases AGS cell proliferation and induces apoptosis by inhibiting Akt and MDM2 expression. | Ye Seul Park Gun He Nam Kyung Jo Jo Hye Won Kawk Sang Yung Kim Young Min Kim | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,10: | 1 |
| 11 | Magnifying endoscopy for the diagnosis of specialized intestinal metaplasia in short-segment Barrett's esophagus显示文摘AIM:To determine whether magnified observation of short-segment Barrett’s esophagus(BE)is useful for the detection of specialized intestinal metaplasia(SIM).METHODS:Thirty patients with suspected short-segment BE underwent magnifying endoscopy up to×80.The magnified images were analyzed with respect to their pit-patterns,which were simultaneously classified into five epithelial types[Ⅰ(small round),Ⅱ(straight),Ⅲ(long oval),Ⅳ(tubular),Ⅴ(villous)]by Endo’s classification.Then,a 0.5%solution of methylene blue(MB)was sprayed over columnar mucosa.The patterns of the magnified image and MB staining were analyzed.Biopsies were obtained from the regions previously observed by magnifying endoscopy and MB chromoendoscopy.RESULTS:Three of five patients with a typeⅤ(villous)epithelial pattern had SIM,whereas 21 patients with a non-typeⅤepithelial patterns did not have SIM.The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of pit-patterns in detecting SIM were 100%,91.3%,92.3%,60%and100%,respectively(P=0.004).Three of the 12 patients with positive MB staining had SIM,whereas 14patients with negative MB staining did not have SIM.The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of MB staining in detecting SIM were 100%,60.9%,65.4%,25%and100%,respectively(P=0.085).The specificity and accuracy of pit-pattern evaluation were significantly superior compared with MB staining for detecting SIM by comparison with the exact McNemar’s test(P=0.0391).CONCLUSION:The magnified observation of a shortsegment BE according to the mucosal pattern and its classification can be predictive of SIM. | Nam Seok Ham Jae Young Jang Sung Woo Ryu Ji Hye Kim Eui Ju Park Woong Cheul Lee Kwang Yeun Shim Soung Won Jeong Hyun Gun Kim Tae Hee Lee Sung Ran Jeon Jun Hyung Cho Joo Young Cho So Young Jin Ji Sung Lee | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,41: | 0 |
| 12 | Neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region,but not the dentate gyrus,are susceptible to oxidative stress in rats with streptozotocin-induced type 1 diabetes显示文摘In this study, we investigated the effects of streptozotocin-induced type 1 diabetes on antioxidant-like protein-1 immunoreactivity, protein carbonyl levels, and malondialdehyde formation, a marker for lipid peroxidation, in the hippocampus. For this study, streptozotocin(75 mg/kg) was intraperitoneally injected into adult rats to induce type 1 diabetes. The three experimental parameters were determined at 2, 3, 4 weeks after streptozotocin treatment. Fasting blood glucose levels significantly increased by 20.7–21.9 m M after streptozotocin treatment. The number of antioxidant-like protein-1 immunoreactive neurons significantly decreased in the hippocampal CA1 region, but not the dentate gyrus, 3 weeks after streptozotocin treatment compared to the control group. Malondialdehyde and protein carbonyl levels, which are modified by oxidative stress, significantly increased with a peak at 3 weeks after malondialdehyde treatment, and then decreased 4 weeks after malondialdehyde treatment.
