Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). With an exposure of 5.6 ton-years, the sensitivity of Panda X-4 T could reach a minimum spin-independent dark matter-nucleon cross section of 6 × 10^(-48) cm^2 at a dark matter mass of 40 Ge V/c^2.HongGuang Zhang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen YunHua Chen XiangYi Cui BinBin Dong DeQing Fang ChangBo Fu Karl Giboni Franco Giuliani LinHui Gu XuYuan Guo ZhiFan Guo Ke Han ChangDa He ShengMing He Di Huang XingTao Huang Zhou Huang Peng Ji XiangDong Ji YongLin Ju ShaoLi Li Yao Li Heng Lin HuaXuan Liu JiangLai Liu YuGang Ma YaJun Mao KaiXiang Ni JinHua Ning XiangXiang Ren Fang Shi AnDi Tan AnQing Wang Cheng Wang HongWei Wang Meng Wang QiuHong Wang SiGuang Wang XiuLi Wang XuMing Wang Zhou Wang MengMeng Wu ShiYong Wu JingKai Xia MengJiao Xiao PengWei Xie BinBin Yan JiJun Yang Yong Yang ChunXu Yu JuMin Yuan JianFeng Yue Dan Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao QiBin Zheng JiFang Zhou Ning Zhou XiaoPeng Zhou 2019Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,3:6
Geochemistry, Geochronology, and Hf isotopic Composition of the Late Paleoproterozoic Lujiapuzi Formation,NE Yan-Liao Rift, Northern Liaoning显示文摘The metasedimentary Lujiapuzi Formation crops out along the northeastern margin of the North China Craton, close to the Yan-Liao Rift. The age and tectonic setting of the formation, and its relationship with the Yan-Liao Rift are currently unclear. Here we present detrital zircon U-Pb ages, and Hf isotopic and geochemical data for the Lujiapuzi Formation to constrain the timing of deposition, the provenance of the formation, and the regional stratigraphy relationship. Zircon U-Pb dating constrains the timing of deposition of the Lujiapuzi Formation to younger than 1780 Ma, and indicates that most grains were sourced from the Longgang Block and the Paleoproterozoic Liao-Ji Belt. Detailed field investigations and a correlation of the regional stratigraphy reveal that much of the Lujiapuzi Formation is equivalent to the Tuanshanzi Formation in the Yan-Liao Rift; the lower section may represent the earliest sediments deposited within the Fanhe Basin. Based on these results and the findings of previous studies, we suggest that the base of the Changcheng System has an age of 1.80 Ga. Zircon Hf isotopic data indicate that the main period of crustal growth along the northeastern margin of the North China Craton occurred at 3.2–2.5 Ga, with a peak at 2.9–2.7 Ga.LIU Jin ZHANG Jian LIU Zhenghong YIN Changqing ZHAO Chen PENG Youbo DOU Shiyong YANG Zhongjie 2018Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2018,92,6:3
Environmentally benign chemical fixation of CO_(2) catalyzed by the functionalized ion-exchange resins显示文摘Basic ion-exchange resins, one kind of polystyryl-supported tertiary amine, were demonstrated to be highly efficient and recyclable catalysts for the fixation of carbon dioxide with aziridines under mild conditions, leading to the formation of 5-aryl-2-oxazolidinone with excellent regio-selectivities.Notably,neither solvents nor any additives were required, and the catalyst could be recovered by simple filtration and directly reused at least five times without significant loss of catalytic activity and selectivity. The present protocol has been applied to reactions of epoxides/propargyl amines with CO_(2)/CS2.This solvent-free process thus represents environmentally friendly catalytic conversion of CO_(2) into value-added chemicals and may have potential in various continuous flow reactors in industry.LIU AnHua HE LiangNian PENG ShiYong PAN ZhongDa WANG JingLun GAO Jian 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,7:2

Effects of grain boundary on irradiation-induced zero-dimensional defects in an irradiated copper显示文摘Grain boundaries(GBs)can serve as effective sinks for radiation-induced defects, thus notably influencing the service performance of materials. However, the effect of GB structures on the zero-dimensional defects induced by irradiation has not been fully elucidated. Here, the evolution of cascade collision in the single-crystal(SC),bicrystalline(BC),and twinned crystalline(TC)copper is studied by atomic simulations during irradiation. The spatial distributions of vacancies and interstitials are closely related to the GB at a certain primary knock-on atom(PKA)energy.Compared with the TC,the BC displays a more obvious segregation of the interstitial atoms near GB,due to the characteristic of the greater interstitial binding energy. The evolution of Frenkel pairs is more sensitive to the change of the GB position in the BC.A more prominent defect annihilation rate is caused by the effect of the GB than that of the twin boundary(TB).The marked secondary emission phenomenon has been observed in the BC,which promotes the formation of an inverted pagoda-like defect distribution. There are similar sub-conical defect distributions and microstructures induced by cascade collision in the TC and the SC.It has been found that the influence range of the GB is wider in the BC.Meanwhile, the average flow stress of the irradiated copper is quantitatively calculated by establishing a physical strengthening model. The contribution of vacancy to the average flow stress in the irradiated BC and TC is obvious than that in the SC,due to the formation of many vacancies. This study provides a theoretical basis for further understanding and customization of the metal-based equipment with good radiation resistance.Jing PENG Shiyong CUI Yuanyuan TIAN Qihong FANG Jia LI P.K.LIAW 2022Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2022,43,2:0
An improved evaluation of the neutron background in the PandaX-Ⅱ experiment显示文摘In dark matter direct detection experiments, neutron is a serious source of background, which can mimic the dark matter-nucleus scattering signals. In this paper,we present an improved evaluation of the neutron background in the PandaX-II dark matter experiment by a novel approach.Instead of fully relying on the Monte Carlo simulation, the overall neutron background is determined from the neutron-induced high energy signals in the data.In addition, the probability of producing a dark-matter-like background per neutron is evaluated with a complete Monte Carlo generator, where the correlated emission of neutron(s)andγ(s)in the(α,n)reactions and spontaneous fissions is taken into consideration. With this method, the neutron backgrounds in the Run 9(26-ton-day)and Run 10(28-ton-day)data sets of PandaX-II are estimated to be(0.66±0.24)and(0.47±0.25)events,respectively.QiuHong Wang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen YunHua Chen XiangYi Cui YingJie Fan DeQing Fang ChangBo Fu LiSheng Geng Karl Giboni Franco Giuliani LinHui Gu XuYuan Guo Ke Han ChangDa He Di Huang Yan Huang YanLin Huang Zhou Huang Peng Ji XiangDong Ji YongLin Ju YiHui Lai Kun Liang HuaXuan Liu JiangLai Liu WenBo Ma YuGang Ma YaJun Mao Yue Meng Parinya Namwongsa KaiXiang Ni JinHua Ning XuYang Ning XiangXiang Ren ChangSong Shang Lin Si AnDi Tan AnQing Wang HongWei Wang Meng Wang SiGuang Wang XiuLi Wang Zhou Wang MengMeng Wu ShiYong Wu JingKai Xia MengJiao Xiao PengWei Xie BinBin Yan JiJun Yang Yong Yang ChunXu Yu Jumin Yuan Dan Zhang HongGuang Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao QiBin Zheng JiFang Zhou Ning Zhou XiaoPeng Zhou 2020Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,3:0
LDL receptor-related protein 1 (LRP1),a novel target for opening the blood-labyrinth barrier(BLB)显示文摘Inner ear disorders are a cluster of diseases that cause hearing loss in more than 1.5 billion people worldwide. However, the presence of the blood-labyrinth barrier(BLB)on the surface of the inner ear capillaries greatly hinders the effectiveness of systemic drugs for prevention and intervention due to the low permeability, which restricts the entry of most drug compounds from the bloodstream into the inner ear tissue. Here,we report the finding of a novel receptor,low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1(LRP1),that is expressed on the BLB,as a potential target for shuttling therapeutics across this barrier. As a proof-ofconcept,we developed an LRP1-binding peptide,IETP2,and covalently conjugated a series of model small-molecule compounds to it,including potential drugs and imaging agents. All compounds were successfully delivered into the inner ear and inner ear lymph, indicating that targeting the receptor LRP1 is a promising strategy to enhance the permeability of the BLB.The discovery of the receptor LRP1 will illuminate developing strategies for crossing the BLB and for improving systemic drug delivery for inner ear disorders.Xi Shi Zihao Wang Wei Ren Long Chen Cong Xu Menghua Li Shiyong Fan Yuru Xu Mengbing Chen Fanjun Zheng Wenyuan Zhang Xinbo Zhou Yue Zhang Shiwei Qiu Liyuan Wu Peng Zhou Xinze Lv Tianyu Cui Yuehua Qiao Hui Zhao Weiwei Guo Wei Chen Song Li Wu Zhong Jian Lin Shiming Yang 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,7:0
The nodule-specific transcriptional repressor Top Hub 4 regulates nodule structure and nitrogen fixation capacity in soybean显示文摘Most leguminous plants establish symbiotic relationships with rhizobia to form root organs called nodules(Ferguson et al.,2010).Nodules are specialized organs containing bacterial symbionts, which can provide enormous amounts of fixed nitrogen to their plant hosts(Peoples et al.,2009).Soybean(Glycine max),an economically important grain and oil crop, forms symbiotic nitrogen-fixing nodules, which reduces the demand for chemical nitrogen fertilizers and promotes yield(Saito et al.,2014).Nodule development is spatiotemporally regulated by the action of a number of transcription factors(TFs).Kui Ge Qi Lv Shengcai Chen Zhenhao Guo Yaqi Peng Yimian Chen Shiyong Sun Xuelu Wang 2024Journal of Genetics and Genomics2024,51,1:0
Personality and neurochemicals in the human brain:A preliminary study using^(1)H MRS显示文摘To investigate the neuro-biological bases of introversion-extraversion personality traits, the concentra- tion of four neurochemicals (Cho, mI, α-Glx and NAA) in anterior cigulate gyrus between normal extroverts and in- troverts were examined using non-invasive 1H MRS tech- nique. Our study revealed that introverts have significantly higher level of α-Glx, Cho and mI in the anterior cingulate gyrus than extroverts. This result provides new evidence that the anterior cingulate gyrus is related to personality traits partly in support of Eysenck’s supposition that introverts have higher arousal level than extroverts. Moreover, this result offers neurochemical data for psychobiological theo- ries of personality.XU Shiyong PENG Danling JIN Zhen LIU Hongyan YANG Jie 2005Chinese Science Bulletin2005,50,20:0
Nasopharyngeal Local Transcriptional Profile upon SARS-CoV-2 Omicron BA.2.2 Breakthrough Infection显示文摘The Omicron variants have continued to cause severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infections. To better understand the anti-viral effects of vaccination on host-virus interactions during the outbreak of BA.2.2 Omicron,we conducted RNA-seq transcriptome analysis on nasopharyngeal swabs from COVID-19 patients in Shanghai. This study was performed on selected cases from unvaccinated, fully vaccinated, and booster groups with the same founder virus infection background. We observed predominant immune cell chemotaxis and interleukin-1 production,as well as mucosal keratinization and epidermis development,in unvaccinated patients. In contrast, fully vaccinated subjects exhibited an obvious T-cell activation in the local immune response, whereas B-cell activation was higher in booster-vaccinated cases. In conclusion, our findings suggest that full or booster vaccination provides better adaptive immunity and relieve inflammation at the nasopharyngeal site, thereby reducing the risk of cytokine storm during breakthrough infection.Yi Zhang Yang Zhou Yumeng Zhang Jiazhen Chen Jing Wu Peng Cui Shiyong Wang Yuanyuan Xu Zhongliang Shen Tao Xu Yang Li Jingwen Ai Ning Jiang Chao Qiu Wenhong Zhang 2023Infectious Diseases & Immunity2023,3,4:0
Mitigating growth-stress tradeoffs via elevated TOR signaling in rice显示文摘Rice production accounts for approximately half of the freshwater resources utilized in agriculture,result-ing in greenhouse gas emissions such as methane(CH4)from flooded paddy fields. To address this chal-lenge,environmentally friendly and cost-effective water-saving techniques have become widely adopted in rice cultivation. However, the implementation of water-saving treatments(WsTs)in paddy-field rice has been associated with a substantial yield loss of up to 50%as well as a reduction in nitrogen use efficiency(NUE).In this study,we discovered that the target of rapamycin(TOR)signaling pathway is compromised in rice under WsT.Polysome profiling-coupled transcriptome sequencing(polysome-seq)analysis unveiled a substantial reduction in global translation in response to WST associated with the downregulation of TOR activity.Molecular, biochemical, and genetic analyses revealed new insights into the impact of the positive TOR-S6K-RPS6 and negative TOR-MAF1 modules on translation repression under WST.Intriguingly, ammonium exhibited a greater ability to alleviate growth constraints under WsT by enhancing TOR signaling, which simultaneously promoted uptake and utilization of ammonium and nitrogen allocation. We further demonstrated that TOR modulates the ammonium transporter AMT1;1 as well as the amino acid permease APP1 and dipeptide transporter NPF7.3 at the translational level through the 5'untranslated region.Collectively, these findings reveal that enhancing TOR signaling could mitigate rice yield penalty due to WST by regulating the processes involved in protein synthesis and NUE.Our study will contribute to the breeding of new rice varieties with increased water and fertilizer utilization efficiency.Wei Li Jiaqi Liu Zeqi Li Ruiqiang Ye Wenzhen Chen Yuqing Huang Yue Yuan Yi Zhang Huayi Hu Peng Zheng Zhongming Fang Zeng Tao Shiyong Song Ronghui Pan Jian Zhang Jumim Tu Jen Sheen Hao Du 2024Molecular Plant2024,17,2:0
