12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 2New incompatible pair of TCM:Epimedii Folium combined with Psoraleae Fructus induces idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity under immunological stress conditions显示文摘Epimedii Folium(EF)combined with Psoraleae Fructus(PF)is a common modern preparation,but liver injury caused by Chinese patent medicine preparations containing EF and PF has been frequently reported in recent years.Zhuangguguanjiewan pills(ZGW),which contain EF and PF,could induce immune idiosyncratic liver injury according to clinical case reports and a nonhepatotoxic dose of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)model.This present study evaluated the liver injury induced by EF or PF alone or in combination and investigated the related mechanism by using the LPS model.Liver function indexes and pathological results showed that either EF or PF alone or in combination led to liver injury in normal rats;however,EF or PF alone could lead to liver injury in LPS-treated rats.Moreover,EF combined with PF could induce a greater degree of injury than that caused by EF or PF alone in LPS-treated rats.Furthermore,EF or PF alone or in combination enhanced the LPS-stimulated inflammatory cytokine production,implying that IL-1β,which is processed and released by activating the NLRP3 inflammasome,is a specific indicator of EF-induced immune idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity.Thus,EF may induce liver injury through enhancing the LPS-mediated proinflammatory cytokine production and activating the NLRP3 inflammasome.In addition,the metabolomics analysis results showed that PF affected more metabolites in glycerophospholipid and sphingolipid metabolic pathways compared with EF in LPS model,suggesting that PF increased the responsiveness of the liver to LPS or other inflammatory mediators via modulation of multiple metabolic pathways.Therefore,EF and PF combination indicates traditional Chinese medicine incompatibility,considering that it induces idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity under immunological stress conditions.Yuan Gao Zhilei Wang Jinfa Tang Xiaoyi Liu Wei Shi Nan Qin Xiaoyan Wang Yu Pang Ruisheng Li Yaming Zhang Jiabo Wang Ming Niu Zhaofang Bai Xiaohe Xiao 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,1:32

4Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt vs endoscopic therapy in preventing variceal rebleeding显示文摘AIM:To compare early use of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS) with endoscopic treatment(ET) for the prophylaxis of recurrent variceal bleeding.METHODS:In-patient data were collected from 190 patients between January 2007 and June 2010 who suffured from variceal bleeding.Patients who were older than 75 years;previously received surgical treatment or endoscopic therapy for variceal bleeding;and complicated with hepatic encephalopathy or hepatic cancer,were excluded from this research.Thirty-five cases lost to follow-up were also excluded.Retrospective analysis was done in 126 eligible cases.Among them,64 patients received TIPS(TIPS group) while 62 patients received endoscopic therapy(ET group).The relevant data were collected by patient review or telephone calls.The occurrence of rebleeding,hepatic encephalopathy or other complications,survival rateand cost of treatment were compared between the two groups.RESULTS:During the follow-up period(median,20.7 and 18.7 mo in TIPS and ET groups,respectively),rebleeding from any source occurred in 11 patients in the TIPS group as compared with 31 patients in the ET group(Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank test,P = 0.000).Rebleeding rates at any time point(6 wk,1 year and 2 year) in the TIPS group were lower than in the ET group(Bonferroni correction α' = α/3).Eight patients in the TIPS group and 16 in the ET group died with the cumulative survival rates of 80.6% and 64.9%(Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank test c2 = 4.864,P = 0.02),respectively.There was no significant difference between the two groups with respect to 6-wk survival rates(Bonferroni correction α' = α/3).However,significant differences were observed between the two groups in the 1-year survival rates(92% and 79%) and the 2-year survival rates(89% and 64.9%)(Bonferroni correction α' = α/3).No significant differences were observed between the two treatment groups in the occurrence of hepatic encephalopathy(12 patients in TIPS group and 5 in ET group,KaplanMeier analysis and log-rank test,c2 = 3.103,P = 0.08).The average total cost for the TIPS group was higher than for ET group(Wilcxon-Mann Whitney test,52 678 RMB vs 38 844 RMB,P < 0.05),but hospitalization frequency and hospital stay during follow-up period were lower(Wilcxon-Mann Whitney test,0.4 d vs 1.3 d,P = 0.01;5 d vs 19 d,P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Early use of TIPS is more effective than endoscopic treatment in preventing variceal rebleeding and improving survival rate,and does not increase occurrence of hepatic encephalopathy.Hui Xue Meng Zhang Jack XQ Pang Fei Yan Ying-Chao Li Liang-Shan Lv Jia Yuan Muna Palikhe Wei-Zhi Li Zhi-Lun Wang 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,48:17
5Broussonin E suppresses LPS-induced inflammatory response in macrophages via inhibiting MAPK pathway and enhancing JAK2-STAT3 pathway显示文摘Macrophages play an important role in inflammation, and excessive and chronic activation of macrophages leads to systemic inflammatory diseases, such as atherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. In this paper, we explored the anti-inflammatory effect of broussonin E, a novel phenolic compound isolated from the barks of Broussonetia kanzinoki, and its underlying molecular mechanisms. We discovered that Broussonin E could suppress the LPS-induced pro-inflammatory production in RAW264.7 cells, involving TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, COX-2 and iNOS. And broussonin E enhanced the expressions of anti-inflammatory mediators such as IL-10, CD206 and arginase-1(Arg-1) in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. Further, we demonstrated that broussonin E inhibited the LPS-stimulated phosphorylation of ERK and p38 MAPK. Moreover, we found that broussonin E could activate janus kinase(JAK) 2, signal transducer and activator of transcription(STAT) 3. Downregulated pro-inflammatory cytokines and upregulated anti-inflammatory factors by broussonin E were abolished by using the inhibitor of JAK2-STAT3 pathway, WP1066. 9Wheat straw pretreatment with KOH for enhancing biomethane production and fertilizer value in anaerobic digestion显示文摘Wheat straw biodegradability during anaerobic digestion was improved by treatment with potassium hydroxide(KOH)to decrease digestion time and enhance biomethane production and fertility value.KOH concentrations of1%(K1),3%(K2),6%(K3)and 9%(K4)were tested for wheat straw pretreatment at ambient temperature with a C:N ratio of 25:1.86% of total solids(TS),89% of volatile solids(VS)and 22% of lignocellulose,cellulose and hemicellulose(LCH)(22%)were decomposed effectively with the wheat straw pretreated by 6% KOH.Enhanced biogas production and cumulative biomethane yield of 258 ml·(g VS)^(-1)were obtained increased by 45% and 41%respectively,compared with untreated wheat straw.Pretreated wheat straw digestion also yielded a digestate with higher fertilizer values potassium(138%),calcium(22%)and magnesium(16%).These results show that TS,VS and LCH can be effectively removed from wheat straw pretreated with KOH,improving biodegradability biomethane production and fertilizer value.Muhammad Jaffar Yunzhi Pang Hairong Yuan Dexun Zou Yanping Liu Baoning Zhu Rashid Mustafa Korai Xiujin Li 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,3:11
10Comparison of different methods of intestinal obstruction in a rat model显示文摘AIM:To investigate different methods of creating incomplete intestinal obstruction in a rat model and to compare their electrophysiologic,morphologic and histologic characteristics. METHODS:Rat ileum was partially obstructed by the respective application of:braided silk(penetrated the mesentery and surrounded intestine);half ligation (penetrated directly and ligated 1/2 cross-section of the intestine);wide pipe(6 mm in width,surrounded the intestine);narrow pipe(2 mm in width,surrounded the intestine).A control was also included(no obstruction). Various behavioral and electrophysiologic variables, as well as morphologic and immunohistochemical observations were recorded by blinded investigators at different time points(12,24,48,72 h),including daily general condition,ileal wet weight and circumference, macromorphous and micromorphous intestine,bowel movement capability in vivo and in vitro,slow wave and neural electrical activity,and the number of c-Kit positive interstitial cells of Cajal(ICC). RESULTS:Despite being of a similar general condition, these methods resulted in different levels of obstruction in each group compared with the control at different time points(12,24,48,72 h).However,these fields of the wide pipe rat showed significantly differences when compared with the other three obstructed groups at 12 to 72 h,including macroscopic and histological presentation,intestinal transit ratio and contractility,circumference and wet weight,amplitude and frequency of nerve electrical discharge and slow wave,and ICC numbers(all P<0.01). 11Synoptic-scale variation of δ^(18)O in summer monsoon rainfall at Lijiang, China显示文摘Based on the daily δ^(18)O data in June―September 2003 at Lijiang and the daily mean NCEP/ NCAR reanalysis data, synoptic-scale variation of δ^(18)O in summer monsoon rainfall was investigated. The 'precipitation amount effect' is obvious for the daily δ^(18)O variation, whereas the 'temperature effect' is insignificant. Alternate occurrences of active phase and break phase of the southwest monsoon probably influence the synoptic-scale δ^(18)O variation prominently. Moreover, the isotopic composition in precipitation during the late monsoon months is presumably influenced significantly by recycling of monsoon precipitation. Both the above factors disturb the 'amount effect' of isotopic variation in the monsoon region. This study also indicates that the synoptic-scale rainfall δ^(18)O variation at Lijiang in summer is domi-nated by the Indian monsoon depression (low pressure) system at large scale. 14High-Resolution Genome-wide Association Study Identifies Genomic Regions and Candidate Genes for Important Agronomic Traits in Wheat显示文摘Wheat(Triticum aestivum)is a major staple food crop worldwide.Genetic dissection of important agronomic traits is essential for continuous improvement of wheat yield to meet the demand of the world's growing population.We conducted a large-scale genome-wide association study(GWAS)using a panel of 768 wheat cultivars that were genotyped with 327609 single-nucleotide polymorphisms generated by genotyping-by-sequencing and detected 395 quantitative trait loci(QTLs)for 12 traits under 7 environments.Among them,273 QTLs were delimited to≤1.0-Mb intervals and 7 of them are either known genes(Rht-D,Vrn-B1,and Vrn-D1)that have been cloned or known QTLs(TaGA2ox8,APO1,TaSus1-7B,and Rht12)that were previously mapped.Eight putative candidate genes were identified for three QTLs that enhance spike seed setting and grain size using gene expression data and were validated in three bi-parental populations.Protein sequence analysis identified 33 putative wheat orthologs that have high identity with rice genes in QTLs affecting similar traits.Large r^2 values for additive effects observed among the QTLs for most traits indicated that the phenotypes of these identified QTLs were highly predictable.Results from this study demonstrated that significantly increasing GWAS population size and marker density greatly improves detection and identification of candidate genes underlying a QTL,solidifying the foundation for large-scale QTL fine mapping,candidate gene validation,and developing functional markers for genomics-based breeding in wheat.Yunlong Pang Chunxia Liu Danfeng Wang Paul St.Amand Amy Bernardo Wenhui Li Fang He Linzhi Li Liming Wang Xiufang Yuan Lei Dong Yu Su Huirui Zhang Meng Zhao Yunlong Liangi Hongze Jia Xitong Shen Yue Lu Hongming Jiang Yuye Wu Anfei Li Honggang Wang Lingrang Kong Guihua Bai Shubing Liu 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:8
15Effect of Landform on Seasonal Temperature Structures across China in the Past 52 Years显示文摘The data of 160 national meteorological observatory stations including the long-term monthly temperature data in China were analyzed to study the seasonal variation of the spatial temperature structures across China in the past half century. It is found that temperature structures differ between seasons: a latitude temperature pattern in winter and a landform temperature pattern in summer, which indicate that the effect of landform on temperature structure is much stronger in summer than that in winter and the effect of latitudinal temperature is much stronger in winter than that in summer. 16First Discovery of North-South Striking Normal Faults near the Potential Eastern End of Altyn Tagh Fault显示文摘The Altyn Tagh fault is the northern boundary of Tibetan Plateau. As one of the most well-known strike-slip fault in the world, great achievements on tectonic deformation and Late Quaternary slip rate have been made. However, there is a long-lasting debate on whether the Altyn Tagh fault extends into the Jinta Basin or even eastward. In this paper, we use satellite image interpretation, field investigation, trench excavation, and optical stimulated luminescence dating to study newly found NS striking scarps in the eastern end of Jinta Nan Shan. The results are as follows: firstly, a group of normal faults develop on terrace T2 of Heihe River, the total length amounts to ~40 km, total scarp height is 30±5 m; secondly, four paleoseismic events have been interpreted from three trenches, approximate ages of events are 79.97±19.14 ka BP, 62.55±13.10~55.41±10.77 ka BP, before 16.89±2.08 ka BP, 8.52±1.49 ka BP, respectively; thirdly, just like NS normal faults in the western end of Altyn Tagh fault, the newly found NS extensional faults are likely the terminating tectonics of the eastern end of Altyn Tagh fault, the large Altyn Tagh fault may end in the eastern end of Jinta Nan Shan.Bo Zhang Daoyang Yuan Wengui He Wei Pang Pengtao Wang Ming Wu 2018Journal of Earth Science2018,29,1:6
17A Method for Detection of Main Metabolites in Aromatic Rice Seeds显示文摘[Objective] A method was developed for the analysis of main metabolites in aromatic rice seeds by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry( GC-MS).[Method]The main metabolites in seeds of 9 different aromatic rice varieties were compared and analyzed with two methods. Method 1: the compound was extracted by the mixture of anhydrous ethanol and methylene chloride( V/V = 1∶ 1) at 60 ℃ for 3 h in water bath; the extract was isolated and detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry using HP-5 capillary column with scan monitoring mode. Method 2: the main metabolites in aromatic rice seeds were detected using headspace solid phase micro-extraction and gas chromatography mass spectrometry( GC-MS). [Result]Fifteen types of common metabolites were found in 9 different aromatic rice varieties. Method 1 was more effective than method 2 in detecting the main metabolites in aromatic rice seeds. 18Compression-related EMIC waves drive relativistic electron precipitation显示文摘With coordinated observations of the NOAA 15 satellite and OUL magnetometer station in Finland, we report that the electromagnetic ion cyclotron(EMIC) waves which were stimulated by the compression of the magnetosphere drive relativistic electron precipitation in geoquiescence on 1 Jan 2007. After an enhancement of solar wind dynamic pressure(SWDP), a dayside Pc1 pulsation was observed by the OUL station. Such a Pc1 pulsation is caused by an EMIC wave which propagates from the generation source to lower altitudes. Simultaneously, the NOAA 15 satellite registered an enhancement of precipitating electron count rates with energies >3 Me V within the anisotropic zone of protons. This phenomenon is coincident with the quasi-linear theoretical calculation presented in this paper. 20An Intra-Oceanic Subduction System Influenced by Ridge Subduction in the Diyanmiao Subduction Accretionary Complex of the Xar Moron Area,Eastern Margin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt显示文摘This study focuses on the geology,geochemistry,Sr-Nd isotopes and their tectonic settings of three types of basalts in Diyanmiao ophiolite in the Xar Moron area located on the eastern margin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt.Type I basalts are oceanic tholeiites with a depleted light rare earth element(LREE)pattern,which are similar to the typical N-mid-oceanic ridge basalt(MORB)and suggests that they were formed at a mid-oceanic ridge.The initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios of Type I basalts range from 0.703966 to 0.705276 and theεNd(t)values are from 16.49 to 17.15,indicating that they were derived from a depleted mantle source.Type II basalts belong to the medium-potassium calc-akaline series and have the geochem-ical characteristics of Nb-enriched basalt(NEB)with high Nb content(14.5 ppm)and strong enrichment in LREEs,implying that they were created by the partial melting of mantle wedge peridotite that previously metasomatized by slab melts.Type III basalts are high-Al basalt(HAB)with high-Al contents(Al_(2)0_(3)=16.75 wt.%-18.00 wt.%),distinct Nb depletion and high Th/Yb ratios.Thus they were likely gen-erated in a normal island-arc setting.Therefore,the association of MORB,NEB,and HAB in the study area may be due to the subduction of a mid-oceanic ridge,and the Diyanmiao ophiolite is proposed to be formed in the forearc setting of a mid-oceanic ridge subduction system.Yang Cheng Qinghui Xiao Tingdong Li Liquan Xu Yuxu Fan Yan Li Lingjun Guo Jinli Pang Weiming Yuan 2021Journal of Earth Science2021,32,1:6
