| 1 | Features and Formation Mechanism of Faults and Potash-forming Effect in the Lop Nur Salt Lake,Xinjiang,China显示文摘The Lop Nur Salt Lake, located in the eastern part of the Tarim Basin, Xinjiang, China, has become a playa in the Quaternary. Rhombic in shape, the Lop Nur depression is mainly controlled by the NE-striking and nearly N-S-striking sets of faults. Since 1995, a superlarge brine potash deposit with potash resources of 2.50×108 t has been found in the Luobei subbasin in the northeastern part of the Lop Nur. We intensively studied the features and formation mechanism of faults inside the Lop Nur through satellite images, geomorphologic survey and continuous conductivity imaging and found seven subparallel graben faults formed under the action of nearly N 10o E principal compressional stress during deposition of the Lop Nur Salt Lake. These faults are up to >60 km long and 1–4 km wide and may extend downward for 1000 m or more. It is just under the action of these tensional faults that potash subbasins formed. The largest subbasin is the Luobei subbasin and the smaller ones are the Luoxi hollow, Erbei hollow and Tienan hollow. Investigation also indicates that the graben faults in the Lop Nur not only control the origin of the potash subbasins, but they themselves are also good brine reservoir structures, in which abundant potash-rich brines are stored. | 2 | The Impact of the Linked Factors of Provenance,Tectonics and Climate on Potash Formation:An Example from the Potash Deposits of Lop Nur Depression in Tarim Basin,Xinjiang,Western China显示文摘Potash deposits commonly accumulate in highly restricted settings at the final stage of brine evaporation. This does not mean that potash deposits are formed simply as a result of the evaporation concentration of seawater or lake water, but rather as a coupling result of particular provenance, tectonics and climate activities. In this paper, we focus on the formative mechanism of the potash deposits of Lop Nur depression in Tarim Basin to interpret the detailed coupling mechanism among provenance, tectonics and climate. In terms of the provenance of Lop Nur Lake, the water of the Tarim River which displays 'potassium-rich' characteristics play an important role. In addition, the Pliocene and Lower-Middle Pleistocene clastic beds surrounding Lop Nur Lake host a certain amount of soluble potassium and thus serves as 'source beds' for potash formation. During the late Pliocene, the Lop Nur region has declined and evolved into a great lake from the previous piedmont and diluvial fan area. Since the mid Pleistocene, the great-united Lop Nur Lake has been separated and has generated a chain system consisting of Taitema Lake, Big Ear Lake and Luobei Lake which has turned into the deepest sag in Lop Nur Lake. Dry climate in Lop Nur region has increased since the Pliocene, and became extreme at the late Pleistocene. The study implies that potash formation in Lop Nur Lake depends on the optimal combination of extreme components of provenance, tectonics and climate during a shorter-term period. The optimal patterns of three factors are generally characterized by the long-term accumulation and preliminary enrichment of potassium, the occurrence of the deepest sub-depression and the appearance of an extremely arid climate in Lop Nur region. | 4 | Characteristics of Eddy Current Attenuation and Thickness Measurement of Metallic Plate显示文摘In eddy current testing, the law of attenuation of eddy current(EC) is of great concern. In conductive half space under the excitation of uniform magnetic field, the EC density decreases exponentially in the depth direction. However, in conductor with finite thickness tested by coil, the distribution of EC in the depth direction is more complicated. This paper studies the characteristics of EC attenuation in metallic plate of finite thickness. Simulation results show that there is an EC reflection at the bottom of plate, which changes the law of EC attenuation. A new concept, namely the equivalent attenuation coefficient, is proposed to quantify the speed of EC attenuation. The characteristics of EC attenuation are utilized to explain the nonmonotonic relation between coil voltage and plate thickness. Procedure of selecting frequency is discussed. | 5 | Computational Identification of Protein-Protein Interactions in Rice Based on the Predicted Rice Interactome Network显示文摘Plant protein-protein interaction networks have not been identified by large-scale experiments. In order to better understand the protein interactions in rice, the Predicted Rice Interactome Network (PRIN; http://gffzz138305caccaf4191hfxvooboko6pv6ubw.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/ prin/) presented 76,585 predicted interactions involving 5,049 rice proteins. After mapping genomic features of rice (GO annotation, subcellular localization prediction, and gene expression), we found that a well-annotated and biologically significant network is rich enough to capture many significant functional linkages within higher-order biological systems, such as pathways and biological processes. Furthermore, we took MADS-box do- main-containing proteins and circadian rhythm signaling pathways as examples to demonstrate that functional protein complexes and biological pathways could be effectively expanded in our predicted network. | 8 | Comparison of sequencing-based and array-based genotyping platforms for genomic prediction of maize hybrid performance显示文摘Genomic selection(GS)is a powerful tool for improving genetic gain in maize breeding.However,its routine application in large-scale breeding pipelines is limited by the high cost of genotyping platforms.Although sequencing-based and array-based genotyping platforms have been used for GS,few studies have compared prediction performance among platforms.In this study,we evaluated the predictabilities of four agronomic traits in 305 maize hybrids derived from 149 parental lines subjected to genotyping by sequencing(GBS),a 40K SNP array,and target sequence capture(TSC)using eight GS models.The GBS marker dataset yielded the highest predictabilities for all traits,followed by TSC and SNP array datasets.We investigated the effect of marker density and statistical models on predictability among genotyping platforms and found that 1K SNPs were sufficient to achieve comparable predictabilities to 10K and all SNPs,and BayesB,GBLUP,and RKHS performed well,while XGBoost performed poorly in most cases.We also selected significant SNP subsets using genome-wide association study(GWAS)analyses in three panels to predict hybrid performance.GWAS facilitated selecting effective SNP subsets for GS and thus reduced genotyping cost,but depended heavily on the GWAS panel.We conclude that there is still room for optimization of the existing SNP array,and using genotyping by target sequencing(GBTS)techniques to integrate a few functional markers identified by GWAS into the 1K SNP array holds great promise of being an effective strategy for developing desirable GS breeding arrays. | Guangning Yu Yanru Cui Yuxin Jiao Kai Zhou Xin Wang Wenyan Yang Yiyi Xu Kun Yang Xuecai Zhang Pengcheng Li Zefeng Yang Yang Xu Chenwu Xu | 2023 | The Crop Journal2023,11,2: | 1 |

| 10 | Hydrodynamics of high-speed robots driven by the combustion-enabled transient driving method显示文摘Underwater vehicles play important roles in underwater observation, ocean resource exploration, and sample collection.Soft robots are a unique type of underwater vehicles due to their good environmental adaptability and motion flexibility, although they are weak in terms of actuation and response ability. The transient driving method(TDM) was developed to resolve these shortcomings. However, the interaction between the robots’ swift motions and flow fields has not yet been fully studied. In this study, a computational fluid dynamic model is developed to simulate the fluid fields disturbed by transient high-speed motions generated by the robots. Focusing on the dependence of robot dynamics on thrust force and eccentricity, typical structures of both flow and turbulence fields around the robots are obtained to quantitatively analyze robot kinematic performance, velocity distribution, vortex systems, surface pressure, and turbulence. The results demonstrate the high-speed regions at the robots’ heads and tails and the vortex systems due to sudden expansion, indicating a negative relationship between the maximum fluid velocity and eccentricity. | 14 | Silicon nonlinear switch as a conditional circulator for monostatic LiDAR systems显示文摘All-optical silicon-photonics-based LiDAR systems allow for desirable features in scanning resolution and speed,as well as leverage other advantages such as size, weight, and cost. Implementing optical circulators in silicon photonics enables bidirectional use of the light path for both transmitters and receivers, which simplifies the system configuration and thereby promises low system cost. In this work, to the best of our knowledge, we present the first experimental verification of all-passive silicon photonics conditional circulators for monostatic LiDAR systems using a nonlinear switch. The proposed silicon nonlinear interferometer is realized by controlling signal power distribution with power-splitting circuits, allowing the LiDAR transmitter and receiver to share the same optical path. Unlike the traditional concept requiring a permanent magnet, the present device is implemented by using common silicon photonic waveguides and a standard foundry-compatible fabrication process. | 20 | Redox-responsive phenyl-functionalized polylactide micelles for enhancing Ru complexes delivery and phototherapy显示文摘Poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic acid)block copolymer(PEG-PLA)is one of the most widely used biomedical polymers in clinical drug delivery owing to its biocompatibility and biodegradability.However,endowing PEG-PLA micelles with high drug loading,self-assembly stability and fast intracellular drug release is still challenging.Redox-responsive diblock copolymers(MPEG-SS-PMLA)of poly(ethylene glycol)and phenyl-functionalized poly(lactic acid)with disulfide bond as the linker are synthesized to prepare PLA-based micelles that demonstrate excellent colloidal stability and high Ru loading.Notably,MPEGSS-PMLA achieved a remarkably high Ru loading efficiency of 84.3%due to the existence of strongπ-πstacking between phenyl and Ru complex.MPEG-SS-PMLA exhibited good colloidal stability in physiological condition but quickly destabilized by reductive tumor microenvironment.Interestingly,about 74%of Ru complex was released under 10 mmol/L GSH concentration.Ru-loaded MEPG-SS-PMLA showed efficient delivery and release of Ru complex into MCF-7 cancer cells,achieving enhanced in vitro and in vivo antitumor activity of photodynamic therapy.This feasible functionalization method of MPEG-PLA has appeared to be a clinically viable platform for controlled delivery therapeutic agents and enhanced phototherapy. | Maomao He Zongwei Zhang Ziyue Jiao Meiyu Yan Pengcheng Miao Zhiyong Wei Xuefei Leng Yang Li Jiangli Fan Wen Sun Xiaojun Peng | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,3: | 0 |
