1Isolation and characterization of dengue virus serotype 2 from the large dengue outbreak in Guangdong, China in 2014显示文摘Dengue has been well recognized as a global public health threat,but only sporadic epidemics and imported cases were reported in recent decades in China.Since July 2014,an unexpected large dengue outbreak has occurred in Guangdong province,China,resulting in more than 40000 patients including six deaths.To clarify and characterize the causative agent of this outbreak,the acute phase serum from a patient diagnosed with severe dengue was subjected to virus isolation and high-throughput sequencing(HTS).Traditional real-time RT-PCR and HTS with Ion Torrent PGM detected the presence of dengue virus serotype 2(DENV-2).A clinical DENV-2 isolate GZ05/2014 was obtained by culturing the patient serum in mosquito C6/36 cells.The complete genome of GZ05/2014 was determined and deposited in Gen Bank under the access number KP012546.Phylogenetic analysis based on the complete envelope gene showed that the newly DENV-2 isolate belonged to Cosmopolitan genotype and clustered closely with other Guangdong strains isolated in the past decade.No amino acid mutations that are obviously known to increase virulence or replication were identified throughout the genome of GZ05/2014.The high homology of Guangdong DENV-2 strains indicated the possibility of establishment of local DENV-2 circulation in Guangdong,China.These results help clarify the origin of this epidemic and predict the future status of dengue in China.ZHAO Hui ZHAO Ling Zhai JIANG Tao LI Xiao Feng FAN Hang HONG Wen Xin ZHANG Yu ZHU Qin YE Qing TONG Yi Gang CAO Wu Chun ZHANG Fu Chun QIN Cheng Feng 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,12:21
2Cell sheet formation enhances the therapeutic effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells on myocardial infarction as a bioactive material显示文摘Stem cell-based therapy has been used to treat ischaemic heart diseases for two decades.However,optimal cell types and transplantation methods remain unclear.This study evaluated the therapeutic effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell(hUCMSC)sheet on myocardial infarction(MI).Methods:hUCMSCs expressing luciferase were generated by lentiviral transduction for in vivo bio-luminescent imaging tracking of cells.We applied a temperature-responsive cell culture surface-based method to form the hUCMSC sheet.Cell retention was evaluated using an in vivo bio-luminescent imaging tracking system.Unbiased transcriptional profiling of infarcted hearts and further immunohistochemical assessment of monocyte and macrophage subtypes were used to determine the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of the hUCMSC sheet.Echocardiography and pathological analyses of heart sections were performed to evaluate cardiac function,angiogenesis and left ventricular remodelling.Results:When transplanted to the infarcted mouse hearts,hUCMSC sheet significantly improved the retention and survival compared with cell suspension.At the early stage of MI,hUCMSC sheet modulated inflammation by decreasing Mcp1-positive monocytes and CD68-positive macrophages and increasing Cx3cr1-positive non-classical macrophages,preserving the cardiomyocytes from acute injury.Moreover,the extracellular matrix produced by hUCMSC sheet then served as bioactive scaffold for the host cells to graft and generate new epicardial tissue,providing mechanical support and routes for revascularsation.These effects of hUCMSC sheet treatment significantly improved the cardiac function at days 7 and 28 post-MI.Conclusions:hUCMSC sheet formation dramatically improved the biological functions of hUCMSCs,mitigating adverse post-MI remodelling by modulating the inflammatory response and providing bioactive scaffold upon transplantation into the heart.Translational perspective:Due to its excellent availability as well as superior local cellular retention and survival,allogenic transplantation of hUCMSC sheets can more effectively acquire the biological functions of hUCMSCs,such as modulating inflammation and enhancing angiogenesis.Moreover,the hUCMSC sheet method allows the transfer of an intact extracellular matrix without introducing exogenous or synthetic biomaterial,further improving its clinical applicability.Rui Guo Feng Wan Masatoshi Morimatsu Qing Xu Tian Feng Hang Yang Yichen Gong Shuhong Ma Yun Chang Siyao Zhang Youxu Jiang Heqing Wang Dehua Chang Hongjia Zhang Yunpeng Ling Feng Lan 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,9:6

4Derivation of Cloud-Free-Region Atmospheric Motion Vectors from FY-2E Thermal Infrared Imagery显示文摘The operational cloud-motion tracking technique fails to retrieve atmospheric motion vectors(AMVs) in areas lacking cloud; and while water vapor shown in water vapor imagery can be used, the heights assigned to the retrieved AMVs are mostly in the upper troposphere. As the noise-equivalent temperature difference(NEd T) performance of FY-2E split window(10.3–11.5 μm, 11.6–12.8 μm) channels has been improved, the weak signals representing the spatial texture of water vapor and aerosols in cloud-free areas can be strengthened with algorithms based on the difference principle, and applied in calculating AMVs in the lower troposphere. This paper is a preliminary summary for this purpose, in which the principles and algorithm schemes for the temporal difference, split window difference and second-order difference(SD) methods are introduced. Results from simulation and cases experiments are reported in order to verify and evaluate the methods, based on comparison among retrievals and the 'truth'. The results show that all three algorithms, though not perfect in some cases,generally work well. Moreover, the SD method appears to be the best in suppressing the surface temperature influence and clarifying the spatial texture of water vapor and aerosols. 5Intermetallic Cu_(5)Zr Clusters Anchored on Hierarchical Nanoporous Copper as Efficient Catalysts for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction显示文摘Designing highly active and robust platinum-free electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction is vital for large-scale and efficient production of hydrogen through electrochemical water splitting.Here,we report nonprecious intermetallic Cu_(5)Zr clusters that are in situ anchored on hierarchical nanoporous copper(NP Cu/Cu_(5)Zr)for efficient hydrogen evolution in alkaline medium.By virtue of hydroxygenated zirconium atoms activating their nearby Cu-Cu bridge sites with appropriate hydrogenbinding energy,the Cu_(5)Zr clusters have a high electrocatalytic activity toward the hydrogen evolution reaction.Associated with unique architecture featured with steady and bicontinuous nanoporous copper skeleton that facilitates electron transfer and electrolyte accessibility,the self-supported monolithic NP Cu/Cu_(5)Zr electrodes boost violent hydrogen gas release,realizing ultrahigh current density of 500mAcm^(-2) at a low potential of-280mV versus reversible hydrogen electrode,with exceptional stability in 1M KOH solution.The electrochemical properties outperform those of state-of-the-art nonprecious metal electrocatalysts and make them promising candidates as electrodes in water splitting devices.Hang Shi Yi-Tong Zhou Rui-Qi Yao Wu-Bin Wan Qing-Hua Zhang Lin Gu Zi Wen Xing-You Lang Qing Jiang 2020Research2020,,1:4

7Surface‑Alloyed Nanoporous Zinc as Reversible and Stable Anodes for High‑Performance Aqueous Zinc‑Ion Battery显示文摘Metallic zinc(Zn)is one of the most attractive multivalent-metal anode materials in post-lithium batteries because of its high abundance,low cost and high theoretical capacity.However,it usually suffers from large voltage polarization,low Coulombic efficiency and high propensity for dendritic failure during Zn stripping/plating,hindering the practical application in aqueous rechargeable zinc-metal batteries(AR-ZMBs).Here we demonstrate that anionic surfactant-assisted in situ surface alloying of Cu and Zn remarkably improves Zn reversibility of 3D nanoporous Zn electrodes for potential use as high-performance AR-ZMB anode materials.As a result of the zincophilic ZnxCuy alloy shell guiding uniform Zn deposition with a zero nucleation overpotential and facilitating Zn stripping via the ZnxCuy/Zn galvanic couples,the self-supported nanoporous ZnxCuy/Zn electrodes exhibit superior dendrite-free Zn stripping/plating behaviors in ambient aqueous electrolyte,with ultralow polarizations under current densities up to 50 mA cm^(‒2),exceptional stability for 1900 h and high Zn utilization.This enables AR-ZMB full cells constructed with nanoporous ZnxCuy/Zn anode and K_(z)MnO_(2)cathode to achieve specific energy of as high as~430 Wh kg^(‒1)with~99.8%Coulombic efficiency,and retain~86%after long-term cycles for>700 h.Huan Meng Qing Ran Tian-Yi Dai Hang Shi Shu-Pei Zeng Yong-Fu Zhu Zi Wen Wei Zhang Xing-You Lang Wei-Tao Zheng Qing Jiang 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,8:2
8Identification of TWIST-interacting genes in prostate cancer显示文摘Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men worldwide, and the number of diagnosed patients has dramatically increased in recent years. Currently, the clinical parameters used to diagnose prostate cancer, such as Gleason score, pathological tumor staging, and prostate-specific antigen(PSA) expression level, are considered insufficient to inform recommendation to guide clinical practice. Thus, identification of a novel biomarker is necessary. TWIST is one of the well-studied targets and is correlated with cancer invasion and metastasis in several human cancers. We have investigated two largest prostate cancer patient cohorts available in GEO database and found that TWIST expression is positive correlated with Gleason score and associated with poorer survival. By using a prostate cancer cohort and a prostate cancer cell line dataset, we have identified three potential downstream targets of TWIST, PPM1 A, SRP72 and TBCB. TWIST's prognostic capacity is lost when the gene is mutated. Further investigation in the prostate cancer cohort revealed that gene expression of SERPINA, STX7, PDIA2, FMP5, GP1 BB, VGLL4,KCNMA1, SHMT2, SAA4 and DIDO1 influence the prognostic significance of TWIST and vice versa. Importantly, eight out of these ten genes are prognostic indicator by itself. 19Synergistic effect of solvent and solid additives on morphology optimization for high-performance organic solar cells显示文摘Controlling the photoactive layer morphology towards nanoscale bi-continuous donor/acceptor interpenetrating networks is a key issue to build high-performance organic solar cells(OSCs).Due to the distinct properties between donor and acceptor materials,casting an active layer from a single solvent solution usually results in either insufficient or excessive phase separation that reduces the device performance.In comparison to the fullerene acceptors with closed-cage structures,the currently dominant non-fullerene acceptors possess the similar anisotropicπ-πinteractions with p-type organic semiconductor donors,giving rise to the complexity of the morphology regulation.Herein,we employ 4,4′-dimethoxyoctafluorobiphenyl(OFP)with strong crystallinity as a volatile solid additive to optimize the active layer morphology of OSCs.The synergistic effect of 1-chloronaphthalene(CN)and OFP as dual additives shows supreme capability on optimizing the morphology over the conventional additive of CN,which is in favor of improving charge transport and suppressing charge recombination for higher fill factors in various systems.In particular,the PTQ10:m-BTP-C6 Ph-based device processed by the additive showed a remarkable powerconversion efficiency(PCE)of 17.74%,whereas the control device processed by CN additive yielded a relatively lower PCE of16.45%.Chenling Fan Hang Yang Qing Zhang Sunan Bao Hongyu Fan Xianming Zhu Chaohua Cui Yongfang Li 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,11:0
