1Development and validation of an endoscopic images-based deep learning model for detection with nasopharyngeal malignancies显示文摘Background:Due to the occult anatomic location of the nasopharynx and frequent presence of adenoid hyperpla-sia,the positive rate for malignancy identification during biopsy is low,thus leading to delayed or missed diagnosis for nasopharyngeal malignancies upon initial attempt.Here,we aimed to develop an artificial intelligence tool to detect nasopharyngeal malignancies under endoscopic examination based on deep learning.Methods:An endoscopic images-based nasopharyngeal malignancy detection model(eNPM-DM)consisting of a fully convolutional network based on the inception architecture was developed and fine-tuned using separate training and validation sets for both classification and segmentation.Briefly,a total of 28,966 qualified images were collected.Among these images,27,536 biopsy-proven images from 7951 individuals obtained from January 1st,2008,to December 31st,2016,were split into the training,validation and test sets at a ratio of 7:1:2 using simple randomiza-tion.Additionally,1430 images obtained from January 1st,2017,to March 31st,2017,were used as a prospective test set to compare the performance of the established model against oncologist evaluation.The dice similarity coef-ficient(DSC)was used to evaluate the efficiency of eNPM-DM in automatic segmentation of malignant area from the background of nasopharyngeal endoscopic images,by comparing automatic segmentation with manual segmenta-tion performed by the experts.Results:All images were histopathologically confirmed,and included 5713(19.7%)normal control,19,107(66.0%)nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC),335(1.2%)NPC and 3811(13.2%)benign diseases.The eNPM-DM attained an overall accuracy of 88.7%(95%confidence interval(CI)87.8%-89.5%)in detecting malignancies in the test set.In the prospective comparison phase,eNPM-DM outperformed the experts:the overall accuracy was 88.0%(95%CI 86.1%-89.6%)vs.80.5%(95%CI 77.0%-84.0%).The eNPM-DM required less time(40 s vs.110.0±5.8 min)and exhibited encouraging performance in automatic segmentation of nasopharyngeal malignant area from the background,with an average DSC of 0.78±0.24 and 0.75±0.26 in the test and prospective test sets,respectively.Conclusions:The eNPM-DM outperformed oncologist evaluation in diagnostic classification of nasopharyngeal mass into benign versus malignant,and realized automatic segmentation of malignant area from the background of nasopharyngeal endoscopic images.Chaofeng Li Bingzhong Jing Liangru Ke Bin Li Weixiong Xia Caisheng He Chaonan Qian Chong Zhao Haiqiang Mai Mingyuan Chen Kajia Cao Haoyuan Mo Ling Guo Qiuyan Chen Linquan Tang Wenze Qiu Yahui Yu Hu Liang Xinjun Huang Guoying Liu Wangzhong Li Lin Wang Rui Sun Xiong Zou Shanshan Guo Peiyu Huang Donghua Luo Fang Qiu Yishan Wu Yijun Hua Kuiyuan Liu Shuhui Lv Jingjing Miao Yanqun Xiang Ying Sun Xiang Guo Xing Lv 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:9
2Silicon lithium-ion battery anode with enhanced performance: Multiple effects of silver nanoparticles显示文摘Silicon has been regarded as one of the most promising next generation lithium-ion battery anode. However, the poor cyclic stability of the Si based anode has severely limited its practical applications, which is even worse with high mass loading density(>1 mg cm^(-2)). A new concept has been developed to enhance the electrochemical performance of the Si nanoparticle anode. Silver nanoparticles are composited with the silicon nanoparticles in a facile way for the first time. It is found that the mechanical properties of the Si electrode have been significantly improved by the incorporation of the silver nanoparticles, leading to enhanced cyclic performance. With the Si/Ag mass ratio of 4:1, the reversible specific discharge capacity is retained as 1156 m A h g^(-1) after 100 cycles at 200 mA g^(-1), which is more than three times higher than that of the bare silicon(318 mA h g^(-1)). 3Analysis and test of splitting failure in the cutting process of cabbage root显示文摘Cabbage harvester is very useful to replace the manual cabbage harvesting in China.The cutter with single-point clamping way can reduce the maximum and the average cutting force effectively,but may increase the splitting failure.In this study,the mechanics model of cabbage root with single-point clamping way in cutting process was established.According to the analysis of mechanics model,when the sheer stress exceeded the sheer strength(τa>τ0),splitting failure began to occur.Meanwhile,if the maximum normal stress exceeded the tensile strength(σmax>σ0),the splitting failure would further become riving failure.The positions of splitting failure would almost locate at the cutting depth l equaled to R+r(l=R+r).To reduce the splitting failure,single factor and multi-factor cutting tests about the effect of sliding angle,cutting speed and cutting diameter on splitting failure were carried out.The results showed that the splitting failure would reduce with the increase of sliding angle,cutting speed and cutting diameter.Sliding angle,cutting speed,cutting diameter and the interactions of cutting speed with sliding angle and cutting diameter had significant effect on splitting failure level,and the interaction of sliding angle with cutting diameter and the 3 factors’interaction had no effect.To minimize splitting failure levels,the best cutting combination was that:sliding angle 40°,cutting speed 300 mm/min and cutting diameter 35 mm.This research can provide a basis of how to design a cutter for the cabbage harvester including the optimized cutting combination.Du Dongdong Wang Jun Qiu Shanshan 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,4:3
4Creating burdock polysaccharide-oleanolic acid-ursolic acid nanoparticles to deliver enhanced anti-inflammatory effects:fabrication,structural characterization and property evaluation显示文摘This study explored the potential of polysaccharides from Actium lappa(ALPs)as natural wall materials for producing ALP-based nanoparticles to deliver poorly water-soluble oleanolic acid(OA)and ursolic acid(UA).Encapsulating OA+UA with ALPs(ALP:OA+UA,50:1;OA:UA,1:1)changed the crystalline nature to a more amorphous state through hydrogen bonding and involving O-H/C-O/O-C-O groups.ALP-OA/UA nanoparticles had a particle size and zeta potential(in water)of 199.1 nm/-7.15 mV,with a narrow unimodal size distribution,and excellent pH,salt solution,temperature and storage stability.Compared with ALPs,ALPOA/UA nanoparticles showed enhanced anti-inflammatory activity(especially at a dose of 100μg/mL)in a CuSO-induced zebrafish inflammation model via down-regulating the NF-κB signalling pathway and gene expression of associated transcription factors and cytokines(TNF-α,IL-1βand IL-8).Therefore,ALP-based nanoparticles are natural and anti-inflammatory carriers for hydrophobic bioactive molecules.Shanshan Zhu Zhichang Qiu Xuguang Qiao Geoffrey I.N.Waterhouse Wenqing Zhu Wenting Zhao Qiuxia He Zhenjia Zheng 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,2:2

12Single-atom Pt promoted Mo_(2)C for electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘Hydrogen generation from electrochemical water splitting powered by renewable energy is important to the sustainable society,but the prohibitive cost of current Pt electrocatalyst has impeded the large-scale production of hydrogen by water electrolysis.In this contribution,a new low-Pt electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) has been fabricated by a facile one-pot synthesis approach,in which Pt^(2+)cations and phosphomolybdic acid confined in the metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) were submitted to pyrolysis to yield Pt single atoms dispersed into Mo_(2)C nanocrystals in 3 D porous carbon matrix.The as-synthesized Pt_(1)-Mo_(2)C-C catalyst with Pt content of only 0.7 wt% exhibited remarkably enhanced activity for HER in 1 M KOH,with overpotential at 10 mA/cm^(2) lowered from 211 mV to 155 mV and 7-fold higher mass activity(7.14 A/mgpt) than the benchmark 20 wt% Pt/C.The promoted activity can be attributed to the electronic interaction between Pt single atoms and Mo2C surface,which not only improved water activation but also strengthened hydrogen adsorption,as indicated by FTIR and microcalorimetric characterizations.Shanshan Niu Ji Yang Haifeng Qi Yang Su Zhiyu Wang Jieshan Qiu Aiqin Wang Tao Zhang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6:1

16Physical Activity,Sedentary Behavior,and the Risk of Cardiovascular Disease in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients:The MIDiab Study显示文摘The aim of this study was to explore the associations of moderate-to-vigorous-intensity physical activity(MVPA)time and sedentary(SED)time with a history of cardiovascular disease(CVD)and multifactorial(i.e.,blood pressure(BP),body mass index(BMI),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),and glycated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c))control status among type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients in China.A cross-sectional analysis of 9152 people with type 2 diabetes from the Multifactorial Intervention on Type 2 Diabetes(MIDiab)study was performed.Patients were grouped according to their self-reported MVPA time(low,<150 min·week−1;moderate,150 to<450 min·week−1;high,≥450 min·week−1)and SED time(low,<4 h·d–1;moderate,4 to<8 h·d–1;high,≥8 h·d–1).Participants who self-reported a history of CVD were identified as having a CVD risk.Odds ratios(ORs)and 95%confidence intervals(CIs)of CVD risk and multifactorial control status associated with MVPA time and SED time were estimated using mixed-effect logistic regression models,adjusting for China’s geographical region characteristics.The participants had a mean±standard deviation(SD)age of(60.87±8.44)years,44.5%were women,and 25.1%had CVD.After adjustment for potential confounding factors,an inverse association between high MVPA time and CVD risk that was independent of SED time was found,whereas this association was not observed in the moderate-MVPA group.A higher MVPA time was more likely to have a positive effect on the control of BMI.Compared with the reference group(i.e.,those with MVPA time≥450 min·week−1 and SED time<4 h·d–1),CVD risk was higher in the low-MVPA group:The OR associated with an SED time<4 h·d–1 was 1.270(95%CI,1.040–1.553)and that associated with an SED time≥8 h·d–1 was 1.499(95%CI,1.149–1.955).We found that a high MVPA time(i.e.,≥450 min·week−1)was associated with lower odds of CVD risk regardless of SED time among patients with T2DM.Yafei Wu Guijun Qin Guixia Wang Libin Liu Bing Chen Qingbo Guan Zhongshang Yuan Xu Hou Ling Gao Chao Xu Haiqing Zhang Xu Zhang Qiu Li Yongfeng Song Fei Jing Shizhan Ma Shanshan Shao Meng Zhao Qingling Guo Nanwei Tong Hongyan Zhao Xiaomin Xie Chao Liu Zhongyan Shan Zhifeng Cheng Xuefeng Yu Shulin Chen Tao Yang Yangang Wang Dongmei Li Zhaoli Yan Lixin Guo Qiuhe Ji Wenjuan Wang Jiajun Zhao 2023Engineering2023,,1:1

18Association of blood pressure variability with target organ damage in older patients with essential hypertension显示文摘Background:Although multiple measures of blood pressure variability(BPV)have been proposed,whether they are better than mean blood pressure in predicting target organs is unclear.We aimed to determine the relationship between short term BPV and target organ injury.Methods:This study was a retrospective study,and 635 inpatients in the Department of Cardiology from 2015 to 2020 were selected.We divided participants into four groups on the basis of the quartiles of BPV.One-way analysis of variance was used to compare the differences between the groups,and linear regression was used to analyze the relationship between BPV and target organ damage.Results:The average age of 635 patients was 74.36±6.50 years old.Among them,354 of 627 patients had diminished renal function(56.5%),221of 604 patients had associated left ventricular hypertrophy(36.6%),and 227 of 231 patients had carotid plaque formation(98.3%).The baseline data indicated significant differences in fasting glucose,total cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein,creatinine,glomerular filtration rate,sex,calcium channel blocker use,and the rate of diminished renal function.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that BPV was negatively correlated with renal injury(creatinine:r=0.306,p<0.01;estimated glomerular filtration rate:r=0.058,p<0.01),and BPV is positively correlated with cardiac injury(r=0.083,p<0.01).Elevated BPV was not found to be associated with vascularinjury.Conclusion:Renal function decreases with increasing BPV and left ventricular mass increases with increasing BPV.Zhiquan Jing Gang Wang Zeya Li Shanshan Wu Xiang Qiu Rongchong Huang 2023Chronic Diseases and Translational Medicine2023,9,4:0
19Single-Cell Mapping of Brain Myeloid Cell Subsets Reveals Key Transcriptomic Changes Favoring Neuroplasticity after Ischemic Stroke显示文摘Interactions between brain-resident and periph-eral infiltrated immune cells are thought to contribute to neuroplasticity after cerebral ischemia.However,con-ventional bulk sequencing makes it challenging to depict this complex immune network.Using single-cell RNA sequencing,we mapped compositional and transcriptional features of peri-infarct immune cells.Microglia were the predominant cell type in the peri-infarct region,displaying a more diverse activation pattern than the typical pro-and anti-inflammatory state,with axon tract-associated micro-glia(ATMs)being associated with neuronal regeneration.Trajectory inference suggested that infiltrated monocyte-derived macrophages(MDMs)exhibited a gradual fate trajectory transition to activated MDMs.Inter-cellular crosstalk between MDMs and microglia orchestrated anti-inflammatory and repair-promoting microglia phenotypes and promoted post-stroke neurogenesis,with SOX2 and related Akt/CREB signaling as the underlying mechanisms.This description of the brain's immune landscape and its relationship with neurogenesis provides new insight into promoting neural repair by regulating neuroinflammatory responses.Fangxi Liu Xi Cheng Chuansheng Zhao Xiaoqian Zhang Chang Liu Shanshan Zhong Zhouyang Liu Xinyu Lin Wei Qiu Xiuchun Zhang 2024Neuroscience Bulletin2024,40,1:0
20Filterless narrowband photodetectors enabled by controllable band modulation through ion migration: The case of halide perovskites显示文摘Narrowband photodetectors conventionally rely on optical structure design orbandpass filters to achieve the narrowband regime. Recently, a strategy forfilterless narrowband photoresponse based on the charge collection narrowing(CCN) mechanism was reported. However, the CCN strategy requires an electrically and optically “thick” photoactive layer, which poses challenges in controlling the narrowband photoresponse. Here we propose a novel strategy forconstructing narrowband photodetectors by leveraging the inherent ion migration in perovskites, which we term “band modulation narrowing” (BMN). Bymanipulating the ion migration with external stimuli such as illumination,temperature, and bias voltage, we can regulate in situ the energy-band structure of perovskite photodetectors (PPDs) and hence their spectral response.Combining the Fermi energy levels obtained by the Kelvin probe force microscopy, the internal potential profiles from solar cell capacitance simulator simulation, and the anion accumulation revealed by the transient ion-drifttechnique, we discover two critical mechanisms behind our BMN strategy: theextension of an optically active but electronically dead region proximal to the top electrode and the down-bending energy bands near the electron transportlayer.
