Microtubules and microtubule-associated proteins(MAPs) are important in regulating the processes of brain development, including neuron production and synaptic formation, as well as myelination. Increasing evidence suggests that the level of MAPs are changed in autistic patients and mouse models of ASD. | 5 | A two-dimensional analysis of surface acoustic waves in finite elastic plates with eigensolutions显示文摘It is generally known that surface acoustic waves, or Rayleigh waves, have different mode shapes in infinite plates. To be precise, there are both exponentially decaying and growing components in plates appearing in pairs, representing symmetric and antisymmentric modes in a plate. As the plate thickness increases, the combined modes will approach the Rayleigh mode in a semi-infinite solid, exhibiting surface acoustic wave deformation and velocity. In this study, the two-dimensional theory for surface acoustic waves in finite plates is extended to include the exponentially growing modes in the expansion function. With these extra equations, we study the surface acoustic waves in a plate with different thickness to examine the coupling of the exponentially decaying and growing modes. It is found that for small thick- ness, the two groups of waves are strongly coupled, showing the significance of including the effect of thickness in analysis. | 6 | 2D/2D Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/g-C_(3)N_(4) S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst with enhanced visible-light activity by Au loading显示文摘A novel 2D/2D Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/g-C_(3)N_(4) step-scheme(S-scheme)composite by loading Au as cocatalyst was successfully fabricated using a photoreduction and hydrothermal route.The obtained Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/g-C_(3)N_(4)/Au photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscope(TEM),X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy(XPS),UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectra(UV–vis),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),photoluminescence(PL),photocurrent response(I-t),and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).The HRTEM images revealed that an intimate interface in composites were formed.The optimum photocatalytic activity of Rhodamine B degradation over Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/g-C_(3)N_(4)/Au was about 9.7 times and 13.1 times as high as those of Bi_(2)MoO_(6) and g-C_(3)N_(4),respectively.The notably improved photocatalytic activity of Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/g-C_(3)N_(4)/Au could be mainly ascribed to the abundant active sites and the enhanced separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers in Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/g-C_(3)N_(4) S-scheme system.Notably,Au nanoparticles could act as a co-catalyst to further promote electron transfer and separation from the conduction band of g-C_(3)N_(4).Additionally,a possible step-scheme photocatalytic reaction mechanism of Rh B degradation over Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/g-C_(3)N_(4)/Au was tentatively proposed.PL and transient photocurrent analysis implied that Bi_(2)MoO_(6)/g-C_(3)N_(4)/Au photocatalysts possessed the lower recombination rate of photogenerated carriers compared with pure Bi_(2) MoO_(6) and g-C_(3)N_(4),respectively.The present work is expected to provide useful information in designing 2D/2D S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts. | Qiaoqiao Li Wenli Zhao Zicheng Zhai Kaixu Ren Tingyu Wang Hao Guan Haifeng Shi | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,56,21: | 4 |

| 12 | Synergistic effect of size-dependent PtZn nanoparticles and zinc single-atom sites for electrochemical ozone production in neutral media显示文摘Electrochemical ozone production(EOP) via water electrolysis represents an attractive method for the generation of high-purity O3. Herein, the X-PtZn/Zn-N-C electrocatalysts show a strong structural sensitive behavior depends on the size of the PtZn nanoparticles and their EOP activity exhibits a volcano-type dependence for the O3 performance in neutral media. The 7.7-PtZn/Zn-N-C exhibits EOP current efficiency of 4.2%, and shows the prominent performance in the production of gaseous O3 with a value of 1647 ppb at 30 min, which is almost 4-fold compared to 2.2-Pt Zn/Zn-N-C. Based on the experiments and theoretical calculations, the performance of the EOP process was determined by the nanoparticle size-effect and the synergistic effect between the PtZn nanoparticles and atomically dispersed Zn-N-C. | 14 | Multifunctional polyeugenol-based nanoparticles with antioxidant and antibacterial properties显示文摘Over the past few decades,extensive scientific has been dedicated to polymer synthesis employing renewable resources.In this study,we devised and synthesized multifunctional polyeugenol-based nanoparticles,exhibiting remarkable antioxidant and antibacterial properties.The grafting of eugenol onto the nanoparticle surface was achieved via a thiol-ene chemical reaction with a grafting rate of 3.5%.To comprehend the properties of the synthesized nanoparticles,we employed Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and pyrolysis-gas chromatography mass spectrometry.Subsequent scanning electron microscopic and transmission electron microscopic analyses revealed the presence of a crosslinked structure within the polyeugenol-based nanoparticles,as well as a heteroge-neous microsphere structure on the surface.Due to the inherent crosslinking structure,the polyeugenol-based nanoparticles demonstrated robust the resistance to solvents,as ascertained through thermog-ravimetric analysis and solvent resistance tests.Notably,nitrogen adsorption/desorption studies confirmed the adsorption capacity of the polyeugenol-based nanoparticles,rendering them potentially suitable for drug transport applications.Moreover,the assays for assessing cytocompatibility and reactive oxygen species scavenging activities demonstrated better performance of the eugenol-based nano-particles compared to eugenol.Furthermore,the polyeugenol-based nanoparticles exhibited certain bactericidal activities against Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus,and Fusobacterium nucleatum.Consequently,these observations indicated the nontoxic nature and expansive application prospects of the polyeugenol-based nanoparticles in the domains of medicine and food preservation.This work presented a pioneering concept for the development of antioxidant and antibacterial multifunctional polymer materials derived from eugenol. | Qiaoqiao Lan Xuying Zhang Jiaming Liang Wei Wang Leili Lv Jiamin He Zefeng Wang Chunsheng Qu | 2024 | Particuology2024,87,4: | 0 |

| 18 | Defensins as a promising class of tick antimicrobial peptides: a scoping review显示文摘Background: Ticks are hematophagous parasites that transmit an extensive range of pathogens to their vertebrate hosts.Ticks can destroy invading microorganisms or alleviate infection via their rudimentary but orchestrated innate immune system.Antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)are important components of tick innate immunity.Among these humoral effector molecules,defensins are well-studied and widely identified in various species of Ixodidae(hard ticks)and Argasidae(soft ticks).This review was aimed at presenting the characterization of tick defensins from structure-based taxonomic status to antimicrobial function.Main text: All published papers written in English from 2001 to May 2022 were searched through PubMed and Web of Science databases with the combination of relevant terms on tick defensins.Reports on identification and characterization of tick defensins were included.Of the 329 entries retrieved,57 articles were finally eligible for our scoping review.Tick defensins mainly belong to the antibacterial ancient invertebrate-type defensins of the cis-defensins superfamily.They are generally small,cationic,and amphipathic,with six cysteine residues forming three intra-molecular disulfide bonds.Tick defensins primarily target membranes of a variety of pathogens,including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria,fungi,viruses,and protozoa.Since tick defensins have a high degree of variability,we summarize their common biological properties and enumerate representative peptides.Along with the various and potent antimicrobial activities,the role of tick defensins in determining vector competence is discussed.Conclusions: Due to their broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities,tick defensins are considered novel candidates or targets for controlling infectious diseases. | Jiahui Wu Xia Zhou Qiaoqiao Chen Zhiqiang Chen Jinyu Zhang Lele Yang Yuxuan Sun Guohui Wang Jianfeng Dai Tingting Feng | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,3: | 0 |
| 19 | Sensitivity to Abscisic Acid Modulates Positive Interactions between Arabidopsis thaliana Individuals显示文摘The ability of abscisic acid (ABA) to modulate positive interactions between Arabidopsis thaliana individuals under salinity stress was investigated using abi1-1 (insensitive to ABA), era1-2 (hypersen- sitive to ABA) mutant and wild type plants. The results showed that sensitivity to ABA affects relative interaction intensity (RII) between Arabidopsis thaliana individuals. The neighbor removal experiments also confirmed the role of phenotypic responses in linking plant-plant interactions and sensitivity to ABA. For abi1-1 mutants, the absolute value differences between neighbor removal and control of stem length, root length, leaf area, leaf thickness, flower density, above biomass/belowground biomass (A/U), photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, leaf water content and water-use efficiency were smaller than those of the wild type, while for era1-2 mutants, these absolute value differences were larger than those of the wild type.
