1Cerebral small vessel disease or intracranial large vessel atherosclerosis may carry different risk for future strokes显示文摘Background The effect of cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD)and intracranial arterial stenosis(ICAS)on stroke outcomes remains unclear.Methods Data of 1045 patients with minor stroke or transient ischaemic attack(TIA)were obtained from 45 sites of the Clopidogrel in High-Risk Patients with Acute Non-disabling Cerebrovascular Events(CHANCE)trial.We assessed the associations of burdens of CSVD and ICAS with new strokes and bleeding events using multivariate Cox regression models and those with modified Rankin Scale(mRS)scores using ordinal logistic regression models.Results Among the 1045 patients,CSVD was present in 830 cases(79.4%)and ICAS in 460(44.0%).Patients with>1 ICAS segment showed the highest risk of new strokes(HR 2.03,95%CI 1.15 to 3.56,p=0.01).No association between CSVD and the occurrence of new strokes was found.The presence of severe CSVD(common OR(cOR)2.01,95%CI 1.40 to 2.89,p<0.001)and>1 ICAS segment(cOR 2.15,95%CI 1.57 to 2.93,p<0.001)was associated with higher mRS scores.Severe CSVD(HR 10.70,95%CI 1.16 to 99.04,p=0.04),but not ICAS,was associated with a higher risk of bleeding events.Six-point modified CSVD score improved the predictive power for bleeding events and disability.Interpretation CSVD is associated with more disability and bleeding events,and ICAS is associated with an increased risk of stroke and disability in patients with minor stroke and TIA at 3 months.CSVD and ICAS may represent different vascular pathologies and play distinct roles in stroke outcomes.Huimin Chen Yuesong Pan Lixia Zong Jing Jing Xia Meng Yuyuan Xu Hongyi Yan Xingquan Zhao Liping Liu Hao Li S Claiborne Johnston Yongjun Wang Yilong Wang 2020Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,2:13
2Association of elevated hs-CRP and multiple infarctions with outcomes of minor stroke or TIA: subgroup analysis of CHANCE randomised clinical trial显示文摘Background and purpose The relationship of high-sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)levels and infarction numbers with the prognosis of stroke is uncertain.This study evaluated the association of different hs-CRP levels and infarction numbers with the prognosis of acute minor ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic attack(TIA).Methods A subset of 807 patients with both hs-CRP measurement and baseline MRI was included from the Clopidogrel in High-risk Patients with Acute Non-disabling Cerebrovascular Events trial.The primary efficacy outcome was the occurrence of an ischaemic stroke at the 1-year follow-up.Infarction numbers were classified as multiple acute infarctions(MAIs),single acute infarction and no acute infarction(NAI).The association between different hs-CRP levels with different infarction numbers and the risk of any outcome was analysed using multivariable Cox regression models.Results Among the 807 patients,84(10.4%)patients had a recurrent ischaemic stroke within 1 year.After adjustment for conventional confounding factors,patients with both elevated hs-CRP levels and MAIs were associated with approximately 4.7-fold of risk of ischaemic stroke within 1 year(16.7% vs 3.5%,HR 4.68,95% CI 1.54 to 14.23,p=0.007),compared with those with non-elevated hs-CRP levels and NAI.Similar results were observed for the composite events.Conclusions Combined elevated hs-CRP levels and MAIs may increase 1-year stroke risk stratification efficiency in patients with minor ischaemic stroke or TIA compared with using those markers alone,which indicated that the combination of inflammatory and imaging markers might improve the effectiveness of risk stratification concerning minor ischaemic stroke or TIA.Guangyao Wang Jing Jing Jiejie Li Yuesong Pan Hongyi Yan Xia Meng Xingquan Zhao Liping Liu Hao Li David Z Wang Yongjun Wang Yilong Wang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1:11
3Breeding strategy of Acrossocheilus fasciatus in the Puxi Stream of the Huangshan Mountain显示文摘Breeding strategies of Acrossocheilus fasciatus were studied from 592 specimens collected monthly during May 2007 and April 2008 in the Puxi Stream of the Huangshan Mountain.Sex ratio of the studied population was 0.90∶1(♀∶♂),not significantly different from 1∶1.Both sexes reached their first sexual maturity at age 2(the second calendar year of their birth).Fifty percent of females and males reached maturity at a total length of 69.75 mm and 69.36 mm respectively,and the minimum total length was 61.54 mm and 58.96 mm,respectively.Based on the monthly changes in gonado-somatic index and egg-development process,the breeding season of the population was from May to August,with one obvious interval(in June)occurring in the breeding activity for the females.The nonsynchronous development of oocytes observed in mature ovaries indicated that A.fasciatus is a batch spawner.Absolute fecundity of A.fasciatus ranged from 308 to 2002 eggs with a mean of 857 eggs,increased significantly with total length,and was significantly different among three age groups.Relative fecundity ranged from 38.63 to 71.70 egg/g with a mean of 53.29 egg/g,and was not significantly different among the three age groups.It was suggested that these reproductive characteristics were adaptive strategies for A.fasciatus to acclimatize to lotic water where environmental factors were unstable but predictable.Yunzhi YAN Lili GUO Xiuying XIANG Yilong XI Yifeng CHEN 2009Current Zoology2009,55,5:9
4A homogenous microstructural Mg-based matrix model for orthopedic application with generating uniform and smooth corrosion product layer in Ringer’s solution:Study on biodegradable behavior of Mg-Zn alloys prepared by powder metallurgy as a case显示文摘For high corrosion resistance and extensively modified biodegradable Mg-based alloys and composites for bone implants,a new Mgbased matrix model prepared by powder metallurgy is discussed and developed.In this research,Mg-5 wt.%Zn alloys were selected as a case.And they were impacted by hot extrusion and aging treatments to construct microstructure with different characteristics.Their selfforming corrosion product layer in Ringer’s solution,biodegradable behavior and corrosion mechanism were minutely investigated by in vitro degradation,electrochemical corrosion and cytocompatibility.The results demonstrated the extruded Mg-5 wt.%Zn alloy aged for 96 h showed high corrosion resistance,good biocompatibility for L929 and excellent ability of maintaining sample integrity during the immersion.Significantly,the alloy showed fine-grain microstructure and uniform distributed hundred nano-sized second phases,which promoted the formation of the uniform and smooth corrosion product layer at the beginning of immersion.The corrosion product layer was more stable in chloride containing aqueous solution and could be directly formed and repaired quickly,which effectively protected the matrix from further corrosion.In addition,an ideal model of Mg-based matrix for bone tissue engineering was tried to presume and propose by discussing the causal relationship between microstructure and bio-corrosion process.Yang Yan Xin Chu Xier Luo Xuemei Xu Yu Zhang YiLong Dai Ding Li Liangjian Chen Tao Xiao Kun Yu 2021Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,1:4
5Deep learning for in vitro prediction of pharmaceutical formulations显示文摘Current pharmaceutical formulation development still strongly relies on the traditional trialand-error methods of pharmaceutical scientists. This approach is laborious, time-consuming and costly.Recently, deep learning has been widely applied in many challenging domains because of its important capability of automatic feature extraction. The aim of the present research is to apply deep learning methods to predict pharmaceutical formulations. In this paper, two types of dosage forms were chosen as model systems. Evaluation criteria suitable for pharmaceutics were applied to assess the performance of the models. Moreover, an automatic dataset selection algorithm was developed for selecting the representative data as validation and test datasets. Six machine learning methods were compared with deep learning. Results showed that the accuracies of both two deep neural networks were above 80% and higher than other machine learning models; the latter showed good prediction of pharmaceutical formulations. In summary, deep learning employing an automatic data splitting algorithm and the evaluation criteria suitable for pharmaceutical formulation data was developed for the prediction of pharmaceutical formulations for the first time. 6Comparing overall survival between first generation EGFR-TKIs and chemotherapy in lung cancer patients with Del19/L858R显示文摘Objective: Combined overall survival(OS) analysis of Lux-Lung 3 and Lux-Lung 6 demonstrated that patients with epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) exon 19 deletions(Del19) would benefit from first-line second generation EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs) afatinib but not for those with L858 R. This study was to investigate the survival difference between first-line first generation EGFR-TKIs and chemotherapy in patients with either Del19 or L858 R, and to directly compare OS in these two mutation groups.Methods: Eligibles were all prospective and retrospective studies comparing EGFR-TKIs with conventional chemotherapy or receiving single agent EGFR-TKIs and demonstrating survival analysis based on mutation types. The primary outcome was OS measured as pooled hazard ratios(HRs). All measures were pooled using randomeffects models and 95% confidential interval(95% CI) was calculated.Results: A total of 14 studies incorporating 1,706 patients with either Del19 or L858 R were included. Enrolling patients with Del19 or L858 R in randomized controlled trials(RCTs), first-line first generation EGFR-TKIs were associated with no OS benefit, compared with chemotherapy(pooled HR_(TKI/Chemo) for Del19: 0.82, 95% CI: 0.64-1.06, P=0.14; pooled HR_(TKI/Chemo) for L858R: 1.15, 95% CI: 0.85-1.56, P=0.38). Direct comparison of Del19 with L858 R receiving with first-line first generation EGFR-TKIs demonstrated no significant survival difference(pooled HR_(19/21): 0.88, 95% CI: 0.67-1.16, P=0.37).Conclusions: Among patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) harboring Del19 and L858 R, first-line first generation EGFR-TKIs demonstrated no survival benefit comparing with chemotherapy. 8Nicotinamide mononucleotide supplementation improves the quality of porcine oocytes under heat stress显示文摘Background:Elevated ambient temperature-caused heat stress is a major concern for livestock production due to its negative impact on animal feed intake,growth,reproduction,and health.Particularly,the germ cells are extremely sensitive to the heat stress.However,the effective approach and strategy regarding how to protect mammalian oocytes from heat stress-induced defects have not been determined.Methods:Germinal vesicle(GV)porcine oocytes were cultured at 41.5℃ for 24 h to induce heat stress,and then cultured at 38.5℃ to the specific developmental stage for subsequent analysis.Nicotinamide mononucleotide(NMN)was dissolved in water to 1 mol/L for a stock solution and further diluted with the maturation medium to the final concentrations of 10μmol/L,20μmol/L,50μmol/L or 100μmol/L,respectively,during heat stress.Immunostaining and fluorescence intensity quantification were applied to assess the effects of heat stress and NMN supplementation on the key processes during the oocyte meiotic maturation.Results:Here,we report that NMN supplementation improves the quality of porcine oocytes under heat stress.Specifically,we found that heat stress resulted in oocyte maturation failure by disturbing the dynamics of meiotic organelles,including the cytoskeleton assembly,cortical granule distribution and mitochondrial function.In addition,heat stress induced the production of excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)and DNA damage,leading to the occurrence of apoptosis in oocytes and subsequent embryonic development arrest.More importantly,we validated that supplementation of NMN during heat stress restored the meiotic defects during porcine oocyte maturation.Conclusions:Taken together,our study documents that NMN supplementation is an effective approach to improve the quality of oocytes under heat stress by promoting both nuclear and cytoplasmic maturation.Meijie Song Yu Li Yihang Zhou Jiner Yan Xiaohua Zhou Qian Gao Yilong Miao Bo Xiong 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,5:2
9Analysis of Internal Moisture Change of Camphor Seeds during Drying by Low-Field NMR显示文摘In this study,low-field nuclear magnetic resonance(LF-NMR)was used to collect the transverse relaxation signals of camphor seeds that had been dried at different temperatures and for different durations.The transverse relaxation time of the hydrogen nucleus was obtained by SIRT(Simultaneous Iterative Reconstruction Technique)inversion,and the correlation between the moisture content on dry basis and the amplitude of NMR signal of camphor seeds sampled at different drying stages was analyzed.The results showed that water existed in three main forms strongly bound water,weakly bound water and free water in camphor seeds.During the drying process,the peak position of strongly bound water remained unchanged,but the peak positions of weakly bound water and free water fluctuated.Drying rate increased with drying temperature increasing.In addition,there was a very significant linear relationship between the total NMR signal amplitude and moisture content on dry basis,and the correlation coefficient reached 0.984 4.Yan XUAN Yilong XIANG Jing YANG Buhong GAO Ying TANG Feng LIN 2019Agricultural Biotechnology2019,8,4:2

11An experimental investigation on decoupling performance for a lateral axis micromachined gyroscope with varying environmental parameters显示文摘This paper carries out an experiment study of decoupling performance for a novel lateral axis micromachined gyroscope with varying environmental parameters. The non-ideal mathematical model for the coupling mechanism of the gyroscope is established through the gyro dynamic response matrix. The coupling components varying with ambient pressure and temperature induced by stiffness coupling,damping coupling and electrostatic force coupling are semi-analytically discussed. The overall coupling ratio is evaluated via experiments in the custom-built installation. The testing results show that the decoupling performance of the gyroscope is sensitive to the environmental parameters and all the non-ideal errors are determined as a function of ambient pressure and temperature. The coupling error varies from 0.05% to 0.25% within the pressure range of 100 Pa-100 kPa. The characteristics of coupling with temperature are measured from 20°C to 100°C with a variation from 0.35% to 0.41%. The results also indicate that within the range of measured ambient pressure and temperature,the minimum coupling ratio occurs at 100 Pa and room temperature. The overall performance of the gyroscope is tested under the pressure of about 2000 Pa and room temperature to achieve a relatively low coupling ratio. The scale factor is measured to be 7.8 mV(°) -1 s-1 with nonlinearity about 0.45% in the full-scale range of 600(°) s-1. 12Synergistic effect of size-dependent PtZn nanoparticles and zinc single-atom sites for electrochemical ozone production in neutral media显示文摘Electrochemical ozone production(EOP) via water electrolysis represents an attractive method for the generation of high-purity O3. Herein, the X-PtZn/Zn-N-C electrocatalysts show a strong structural sensitive behavior depends on the size of the PtZn nanoparticles and their EOP activity exhibits a volcano-type dependence for the O3 performance in neutral media. The 7.7-PtZn/Zn-N-C exhibits EOP current efficiency of 4.2%, and shows the prominent performance in the production of gaseous O3 with a value of 1647 ppb at 30 min, which is almost 4-fold compared to 2.2-Pt Zn/Zn-N-C. Based on the experiments and theoretical calculations, the performance of the EOP process was determined by the nanoparticle size-effect and the synergistic effect between the PtZn nanoparticles and atomically dispersed Zn-N-C. 19Bone morphogenetic protein 4 induces cholinergic differentiation of brain-derived neural stem cells in vivo and in vitro显示文摘In vitro studies have demonstrated that many factors of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) induce cholinergic differentiation of neural stem cells. However, BMP retains the potential to induce increased numbers of cholinergic neurons in central nervous system regions that are rich in cholinergic cells, which is an important determinant of BMP. Therefore, BMP-4 was added to neural stem cell culture medium or the adult rat hippocampal dentate gyrus. 20Understanding innovation diffusion and adoption strategies in megaproject networks through a fuzzy system dynamic model显示文摘Innovation and knowledge diffusion in megaprojects is one of the most complicated issues in project management.Compared with conventional projects,megaprojects typically entail large-scale investments,long construction periods,and conflicting stakeholder interests,which result in a distinctive pattern of innovation diffusion.However,traditional investigation of innovation diffusion relies on subjective feedback from experts and frequently neglects inter-organizational knowledge creation,which frequently emerges in megaprojects.Therefore,this study adopted project network theory and modeled innovation diffusion in megaprojects as intra-and interorganizational learning processes.In addition,system dynamics and flizzy systems were combined to interpret experts9 subject options as quantitative coefficients of the project network model.This integrated model will assist in developing an insightful understanding of the mechanisms of innovation diffusion in megaprojects.Three typical network structures,namely,a traditional megaproject procurement organization(TMO),the environ megaproject organization(EMO),and an integrated megaproject organization(IMO),were examined under six management scenarios to verify the proposed analytic paradigm.Assessment of project network productivity suggested that the projectivity of the TMO was insensitive to technical and administrative innovations,the EMO could achieve substantial improvement from technical innovations,and the 1MO trended incompatibly with administrative innovations.Thus,industry practitioners and project managers can design and reform agile project coordination by using the proposed quantitative model to encourage innovation adoption and reduce productivity loss at the start of newly established collaborations.Yan ZHANG His-Hsien WEI Dong ZHAO Yilong HAN Jiayu CHEN 2021Frontiers of Engineering Management2021,8,1:0
