1Holocene vegetational and climatic variation in westerly-dominated areas of Central Asia inferred from the Sayram Lake in northern Xinjiang,China显示文摘Changes in the vegetation and climate of the westerly-dominated areas in Central Asia during the Holocene were interpreted using pollen-assemblages and charcoal data from a 300-cm-long sediment core of the Sayram Lake,northern Xinjiang.Accele-rator Mass Spectrometry(AMS) radiocarbon dating methods were applied to bulk organic matter of the samples.Artemisia spp./Chenopodiaceae ratios and results from principal component analysis were used to infer that the lake basin was dominated by desert vegetation before ca.9.6 cal.ka BP,which suggests a warm and dry climate in the early Holocene.Desert steppe/steppe expanded during 9.6-5.5 cal.ka BP,indicating a remarkable increase both in the precipitation and temperature during the mid-Holocene.Desert vegetation dominated between 6.5 and 5.5 cal.ka BP,marking an extreme warmer and drier interval.The steppe/meadow steppe recovered,and temperatures decreased from 5.5 cal.ka BP in the late Holocene,as indicated by the increased abundance of Artemisia and the development of meadows.Holocene temperatures and moisture variations in the Sayram Lake areas were similar to those of adjacent areas.This consistency implies that solar radiation was the main driving factor for regional temperature changes,and that the effect of temperature variations was significant on regional changes in humidity.The evolution of climate and environment in the Sayram Lake areas,which were characterized as dry in the early Holocene and relatively humid in the middle-late Holocene,are clearly different from those in monsoonal areas.Dry conditions in the early Holocene in the Sayram Lake areas were closely related to decreased water vapor advection.These conditions were a result of reduced westerly wind speeds and less evaporation upstream,which in turn were caused by seasonal changes in solar radiation superimposed by strong evaporation following warming and drying local climate.JIANG QingFeng JI JunFeng SHEN Ji Ryo MATSUMOTO TONG GuoBang QIAN Peng REN XueMei YAN DeZhi 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,3:32
2Deformation mechanism and microstructures on polycrystalline aluminum induced by high-current pulsed electron beam显示文摘In this paper, we present an experimental investigation of deformation twinning in polycrystalline aluminum exposed to high-current pulsed electron beam (HCPEB) irradiation. The residual tensile stress with about 10 2 MPa was introduced in the irradiated surface layer. The feature characteristic irradiated with various numbers of pulses was investigated. The formation of a large number of twin bands on the surface irradiated with multiple pulses was determined. The experimental observations indicated that the deformation twinning was indeed triggered during HCPEB irradiation. It is suggested that high value of stress and strain rate induced by rapid heating and cooling due to HCPEB irradiation may cause the shifting of whole atomic planes simultaneously. 3A phosphatidic acid-binding lncRNA SNHG9 facilitates LATS1 liquid–liquid phase separation to promote oncogenic YAP signaling显示文摘Long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)are emerging as a new class of important regulators of signal transduction in tissue homeostasis and cancer development.Liquid–liquid phase separation(LLPS)occurs in a wide range of biological processes,while its role in signal transduction remains largely undeciphered.In this study,we uncovered a lipid-associated lncRNA,small nucleolar RNA host gene 9(SNHG9)as a tumor-promoting lncRNA driving liquid droplet formation of Large Tumor Suppressor Kinase 1(LATS1)and inhibiting the Hippo pathway.Mechanistically,SNHG9 and its associated phosphatidic acids(PA)interact with the C-terminal domain of LATS1,promoting LATS1 phase separation and inhibiting LATS1-mediated YAP phosphorylation.Loss of SNHG9 suppresses xenograft breast tumor growth.Clinically,expression of SNHG9 positively correlates with YAP activity and breast cancer progression.Taken together,our results uncover a novel regulatory role of a tumor-promoting lncRNA(i.e.,SNHG9)in signal transduction and cancer development by facilitating the LLPS of a signaling kinase(i.e.,LATS1).Rui-Hua Li Tian Tian Qi-Wei Ge Xin-Yu He Cheng-Yu Shi Jun-Hong Li Zhen Zhang Fang-Zhou Liu Ling-Jie Sang Zuo-Zhen Yang Ya-Zhuo Liu Yan Xiong Qingfeng Yan Xu Li Huai-Qiang Ju Jian Liu Liang-Jing Wang Jian-Zhong Shao Wenqi Wang Tianhua Zhou Aifu Lin 2021Cell Research2021,31,10:6
4Does an extended mediastinal lymphadenectomy improve outcome after R0 resection in lung cancer?显示文摘Objective: This retrospective study was conducted to investigate the impact of more extended mediastinal lymphadenectomy on the outcome of lung cancer patients treated with R0 resection.Methods: During the investigation period, 325 lung cancer cases were enlisted and 278 cases entered the analysis. The patients were divided into Control group(n=116) and Research group(n=162) according to the different extents of mediastinal lymph node clearance at different time periods. Three major parameters were retrospectively assessed to compare the quality of surgical care: extent of lymph node clearance, resection volume, and postoperative recovery process and common complications. Comparison of the outcome between two groups was carried out.Results: Research group showed a significant quality improvement of lymphadenectomy, such as more mediastinal node stations investigated(more than 3 N2 stations investigated: Research group, 90.7% vs. Control group, 55.2%; P=0.001) and more nodes collection(total nodes 26.1±10.0 vs. 19.1±8.3, P=0.000; N2 nodes 15.5±7.2 vs. 9.8±5.6, P=0.000). However, overall survival(OS) and disease-free survival(DFS) were not significantly different either between two groups(5-year OS: Control group, 56.4±4.6% vs. Research group, 62.6±4.3%; P=0.271) or between subgroups from stage I to IIIa. 5Multimetallic AuPd@Pd@Pt core-interlayer-shell icosahedral electrocatalysts for highly efficient oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Incorporating Pt with core metals into Pt-based core-shell catalysts is regarded as a promising strategy to substantially enhance the catalytic properties towards oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) in fuel cells due to the synergetic effect between distinct metals. In this wok, ultrathin Pt skins with two atomic layers were epitaxially coated on as-prepared icosahedral Au_50Pd_50, Au_60Pd_40 and Au_66Pd_34 nanocrystal seeds,which are constructed with alloyed cores and Pd shells with different thickness. Through electron microscopic characterizations, Pd interlayers with tunable thickness of 3, 6, and 12 atomic layers can be found in the Au_66Pd_34@Pt, Au_60 Pd_40@Pt and Au_50Pd_50@Pt icosahedra, respectively. These icosahedral Au Pd@Pd@Pt nanocrystals show substantially enhanced activities and durabilities in electrocatalytic measurements towards ORR compared to Au_75Pd_25@Pt icosahedra without Pd interlayer and commercial Pt/C catalysts. 6Syndecan-2, negatively regulated by miR-20b-5p, contributes to 5-fluorouracil resistance of colorectal cancer cells via the JNK/ERK signaling pathway显示文摘5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) resistance has been long considered as an obstacle to the efficacy of chemotherapy in colorectal cancer (CRC). In this study, we demonstrated the role of miR-20b-5p-regulated syndecan-2 (SDC2) in 5-FU resistance of CRC cells. 5-FU-resistant SW480 CRC cells were established by treatment of SW480 cells with stepwise increase of 5-FU concentration. The results showed that SDC2 was expressed significantly higher in SW480/5-FU cells than in SW480/WT cells as revealed by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis. MTT assay and BrdU assay showed that SDC2 overexpression led to increased cell survival rate, while SDC2 knockdown reversed the drug resistance of SW480/5-FU cells. Wound healing and transwell invasion assays revealed that knockdown of SDC2 inhibited the migratory and invasive ability of SW480/5-FU cells. Moreover, animal experiments indicated that si-SDC2 plays a suppressive role in tumor growth in vivo. We also confirmed that miR-20b-5p interacted with SDC2, which reversed the effect of SDC2 in SW480/5-FU cells via the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)/extracellular regulated protein kinases (ERK) signaling pathway. 7Study of brain morphology change in Alzheimer’s disease and amnestic mild cognitive impairment compared with normal controls显示文摘Background With an aggravated social ageing level, the number of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) is gradually increasing, and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is considered to be an early form of Alzheimer's disease. How to distinguish diseases in the early stage for the purposes of early diagnosis and treatment is an important topic. Aims The purpose of our study was to investigate the differences in brain cortical thickness and surface area among elderly patients with AD, elderly patients with amnestic MCI (aMCI) and normal controls (NC). Methods 20 AD patients, 21 aMCIs and 25 NC were recruited in the study. FreeSurfer software was used to calculate cortical thickness and surface area among groups. Results The patients with AD had less cortical thickness both in the left and right hemisphere in 17 of the 36 brain regions examined than the patients with aMCI or NC. The patients with AD also had smaller cerebral surface area both in the left and right hemisphere in 3 of the 36 brain regions examined than the patients with aMCI or NC. Compared with the NC, the patients with aMCI only had slight atrophy in the inferior parietal lobe of the left hemisphere, and no significant difference was found. Conclusion AD, as well as aMCI (to a lesser extent), is associated with reduced cortical thickness and surface area in a few brain regions associated with cognitive impairment. 9Sulfur-and Lead-Isotope Geochemistry of the Balugou Cu-Pb-Zn Skarn Deposit in the Wulonggou Area in the Eastern Kunlun Orogen, NW China显示文摘The small-scale Balugou Cu-Pb-Zn skarn deposit(45 298 tonnages of ore at 0.1% to 3.99% Cu, 0.20% to 0.43% Pb and 0.76% to 10.92% Zn) is located in the Wulonggou area in the eastern Kunlun orogen, NW China. Ore deposition is spatially and temporally related with the pre-collisional Anisian Balugou granites(~244 Ma). The mineralization hosted by the contact between marble beds within the Paleo-Proterozoic Jinshuikou Group and Balugou granites, was structurally and lithologically controlled. The mineralogy of the Balugou deposit includes an early simple skarn mineral gangue(epidote with little diopside) and a late complicated quartz sulfide assemblage(pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, bornite, quartz, carbonate and chlorite). The δ34S values of eighteen sulfides range from-2.1‰ to +2.8 ‰, with an average of +0.07‰, and the calculated δ34SH2S values for H2 S in hydrothermal fluids range from-3.2‰ to +2.4‰, with an average of +0.03‰, suggesting a relatively homogeneous magmatic(±mantle) source, with sulfur produced directly by the Balugou granites. The sixteen sulfides have 206Pb/204 Pb ratios from 18.367 4 to 18.384 1, 207Pb/204 Pb ratios from 15.634 6 to 15.641 5, and 208Pb/204 Pb ratios from 38.455 5 to 38.485 0, which are close to those of K-feldspars from the Balugou granites, but are far away from age-corrected lead isotopic ratios of six wall-rock samples. So it was considered that the Pb sources of sulfides must be almost derived from the Balugou granites rather than the older wall-rocks. 16多尺度河岸带生态系统服务供需关系映射分析显示文摘Riparian areas produce a variety of ecosystem service(ES)functions and play an important role in the coupled nature-human systems.Taking account of riparian ES in riparian greenspace planning framework and balancing the ecological and social aspects of ES can help to achieve the composite goals for urban-rural sustainability.However,there is still a lack of research on the integration thinking and quantification approach for riparian ES to support riparian greenspace planning and decision-making.This research mainly discusses the possible way of incorporating the ES into riparian greenspace planning and presents an integrated framework of the interaction between riparian ES and riparian greenspace planning,including evaluating riparian ES supply-demand budget to support multi-scales(region,urban,and street)riparian greenspace planning.Taking the Nanchuan District of Chongqing in China as a case study,we aim to achieve the following three results:first,recognizing the relationship and building a link between riparian ES and riparian greenspace planning;second,establishing a multi-scale scoring system of two ES supply-demand indicators for mapping on three spatial scales;third,applying riparian ES supply-demand mapping into riparian greenspace planning from three aspects of balancing planning goals,multi-scale planning tasks,and planning strategies and policies.Yu Qiao Xing Zhong Zhou Qingfeng Song Yan 2020China City Planning Review2020,29,4:1

19Slip-Control Strategy of Dual Independent Electric Drive Tracked Vehicle显示文摘In order to improve the brake performance of a dual independent electric drive tracked vehicle,a dynamic model for braking situation was established.Then,a sliding model controller(SMC)with an auxiliary system was designed to control the slip and its effectiveness was proved.A hardware-in-loop simulation through MATLAB/XPC was compared with the normal SMC and normal integral sliding mode controller(ISMC),the results show that SMC with the auxiliary system has a better performance:a smaller overshoot and steady state error.The disturbance is suppressed effectively.In the initial speed of 65.km/h,the brake distance was shortened by 3.4%and 6.8%compared with the other two methods,respectively.Finally,initial speeds of 30-36.km/h tests was carried out on a flat soil road.Compared with a no-control brake,the displacement was shortened by 1.8.m.It demonstrates the effectiveness of the slip-control strategy.In the same situation,the error between the simulation and test is 18.1%,which validates the accuracy of models.Shuyang Zhang Yunan Zhang Keyan Ning Nanming Yan Qingfeng Fang 2019Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2019,28,4:1
