1China Argo project:progress in China Argo ocean observations and data applications显示文摘This paper reviews the current achievements of the China Argo project. It considers aspects of both the construction of the Argo observing array, float technology, and the quality control and sharing of its data. The developments of associated data products and data applications for use in the fields of ocean, atmosphere, and climate research are discussed, particularly those related to tropical cyclones(typhoons), ocean circulation,mesoscale eddies, turbulence, oceanic heat/salt storage and transportation, water masses, and operational oceanic/atmospheric/climatic forecasts and predictions. 2Does an extended mediastinal lymphadenectomy improve outcome after R0 resection in lung cancer?显示文摘Objective: This retrospective study was conducted to investigate the impact of more extended mediastinal lymphadenectomy on the outcome of lung cancer patients treated with R0 resection.Methods: During the investigation period, 325 lung cancer cases were enlisted and 278 cases entered the analysis. The patients were divided into Control group(n=116) and Research group(n=162) according to the different extents of mediastinal lymph node clearance at different time periods. Three major parameters were retrospectively assessed to compare the quality of surgical care: extent of lymph node clearance, resection volume, and postoperative recovery process and common complications. Comparison of the outcome between two groups was carried out.Results: Research group showed a significant quality improvement of lymphadenectomy, such as more mediastinal node stations investigated(more than 3 N2 stations investigated: Research group, 90.7% vs. Control group, 55.2%; P=0.001) and more nodes collection(total nodes 26.1±10.0 vs. 19.1±8.3, P=0.000; N2 nodes 15.5±7.2 vs. 9.8±5.6, P=0.000). However, overall survival(OS) and disease-free survival(DFS) were not significantly different either between two groups(5-year OS: Control group, 56.4±4.6% vs. Research group, 62.6±4.3%; P=0.271) or between subgroups from stage I to IIIa. 3Ultrafine Sn_(4)P_(3)nanocrystals from chloride reduction on mechanically activated Na surface for sodium/lithium ion batteries显示文摘Nanostructured metal phosphides are very attractive materials in energy storage and conversion,but their applications are severely limited by complicated preparation steps,harsh conditions and large excess of highly toxic phosphorus source.Here we develop a highly efficient one-step method to synthesize Sn_(4)P_(3)nanostructure based on simultaneous reduction of SnCl_(4)and PCl_(3)on mechanically activated Na surface and in situ phosphorization.The low-toxic PCl3 displays a very high phosphorizing efficiency(100%).Furthermore,this simple method is powerful to control phosphide size.Ultrafine Sn_(4)P_(3)nanocrystals(<5 nm)supported on carbon sheets(Sn_(4)P_(3)/C)are obtained,which is due to the unique bottom-up surface-limited reaction.As the anode material for sodium/lithium ion batteries(SIBs/LIBs),the Sn_(4)P_(3)/C shows profound sodiation/lithiation extents,good phase-conversion reversibility,excellent rate performance and long cycling stability,retaining high capacities of 420 mAh/g for SIBs and 760 mAh/g for LIBs even after 400 cycles at 1.0 A/g.Combining simple and efficient preparation,low-toxic and high-efficiency phosphorus source and good control of nanosize,this method is very promising for low-cost and scalable preparation of high-performance Sn_(4)P_(3)anode.Zhiliang Liu Xiangxi Wang Zhuoyan Wu Sungjin Yang Shaolei Yang Shunpeng Chen Xinteng Wu Xinghua Chang Piaoping Yang Jie Zheng Xingguo Li 2020Nano Research2020,13,11:4
4Adjuvant chemotherapy may improve outcome of patients with non-small-cell lung cancer with metastasis of intrapulmonary lymph nodes after systematic dissection of N1 nodes显示文摘Objective: Survival benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy(AC) of patients with intrapulmonary lymph node(IPLN)metastasis(level 12-14) needs investigation.We evaluated the impact of AC on patients whose metastatic nodes were limited to intrapulmonary levels after systematic dissection of N1 nodes.Methods: First,155 consective cases of lung cancer confirmed as pathologic N1 were collected and evaluated.Patients received systematic dissection of N2 and N1 nodes.For patients with IPLN metastasis,survival outcomes were compared between those receiving AC and those not receiving AC.Results: In this group,112 cases(72.3%) had IPLN metastasis and 55 cases(35.5%) had N1 involvement limited to level 13-14 without further disease spread to higher levels.Patients with IPLN involvement had a better prognosis than that of patients with hilar-interlobar involvement.For the intrapulmonary N1 group(level 12-14-positive,level 10-11-negative or unknown,n=112),no survival benefit was found between the AC group and nonAC group [5-year overall survival(OS): 54.6±1.6 vs.50.4±2.4 months,P=0.177].However,76 of 112 cases for whom harvesting of level-10 and level-11 nodes was done did not show cancer involvement in pathology reports(level 12-14-positive,level 10-11 both negative),oncologic outcome was better for patients receiving AC than those not receiving AC in this subgroup(5-year OS: 57.3±1.5 vs.47.1±3.2 months,P=0.002).Conclusions: Oncologic outcome may be improved by AC for patients with involvement of N1 nodes limited to intrapulmonary levels after complete examination of N1 nodes.Xing Wang Shi Yan Yaqi Wang Xiang Li Chao Lyu Yuzhao Wang Jia Wang Shaolei Li Lijian Zhang Yue Yang Nan Wu 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,6:2

6Robust hydrogel sensors for unsupervised learning enabled sign-to-verbal translation显示文摘Highly stretchable and robust strain sensors are rapidly emerging as promising candidates for a diverse of wearable electronics.The main challenge for the practical application of wearable electronics is the energy consumption and device aging.Energy consumption mainly depends on the conductivity of the sensor,and it is a key factor in determining device aging.Here,we design a liq-uid metal(LM)-embedded hydrogel as a sensing material to overcome the bar-rier of energy consumption and device aging of wearable electronics.The sensing material simultaneously exhibits high conductivity(up to 22 S m�1),low elastic modulus(23 kPa),and ultrahigh stretchability(1500%)with excel-lent robustness(consistent performance against 12000 mechanical cycling).A motion monitoring system is composed of intrinsically soft LM-embedded hydrogel as sensing material,a microcontroller,signal-processing circuits,Bluetooth transceiver,and self-organizing map developed software for the visu-alization of multi-dimensional data.This system integrating multiple functions including signal conditioning,processing,and wireless transmission achieves monitor hand gesture as well as sign-to-verbal translation.This approach provides an ideal strategy for deaf-mute communicating with normal people and broadens the application of wearable electronics.Hude Ma Haiyang Qin Xiao Xiao Na Liu Shaolei Wang Junye Li Sophia Shen Shuqi Dai Mengmeng Sun Peiyi Li Xiaofang Pan Mingjun Huang Baoyang Lu Jun Chen Lidong Wu 2023InfoMat2023,5,7:1

8Over-projected Pacific warming and extreme El Niño frequency due to CMIP5 common biases显示文摘Extreme El Niño events severely disrupt the global climate,causing pronounced socio-economic losses.A prevailing view is that extreme El Niño events,defined by total precipitation or convection in the Niño3 area,will increase 2-fold in the future.However,this projected change was drawn without removing the potential impacts of Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 5(CMIP5)models’common biases.Here,we find that the models’systematic biases in simulating tropical climate change over the past century can reduce the reliability of the projected change in the Pacific sea surface temperature(SST)and its related extreme El Niño frequency.The projected Pacific SST change,after removing the impacts of 13 common biases,displays a‘La Niña-like’rather than‘El Niño-like’change.Consequently,the extreme El Niño frequency,which is highly linked to the zonal distribution of the Pacific SST change,would remain mostly unchanged under CMIP5 warming scenarios.This finding increases confidence in coping with climate risks associated with global warming.Tao Tang Jing-Jia Luo Ke Peng Li Qi Shaolei Tang 2021National Science Review2021,8,10:1
9Absorption behavior of lattice oxygen in Ce_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(2-δ) at intermediate temperature显示文摘The absorption behavior of lattice oxygen for Ce_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(2-δ)(YDC) crystal was investigated. Combined with TG-DSC, XRD, Raman and XPS characterization, lattice oxygen absorption occurs at intermediate temperature(from 500 to 800 ℃),which is related to the oxygen vacancies consumption,and no phase change is observed in this process. In electric conductivity relaxation(ECR) experiment, prolonged oxygen diffusion process is observed above 600 ℃, which may be caused by oxygen absorption process. 10Identification and expression analysis of chlorogenic acid biosynthesis key gene PpHCT in peach显示文摘Shikimic acid/quinic acid hydroxy cinnamyl transferase(HCT)is one of the key enzymes in the phenylpropanoid pathway.However,the role of the HCT gene in chlorogenic acid(CGA)biosynthesis in peach fruit remains unclear.For this,we identified the accumulation pattern of CGA in four peach cultivars,cloned and characterized 11 PpHCT gene members,and further analyzed the expression patterns of these PpHCT genes during fruit development.The contents of CGAs in the four peach cultivars all exhibited a trend of increasing and then decreasing during the fruit growth and development.Moreover,the contents of CGAs in the peel and flesh were tissue-specific.Gene structure analysis indicated that the PpHCT genes were highly conserved,containing two exons and one intron.The protein structure analysis demonstrated that the PpHCT proteins contained two conserved motifs(HXXXD,DFGWG)and a transferase domain(PF02458),which belonged to the BAHD acyltransferase family.The cis-acting element analysis suggested that the promoters of PpHCT genes contained many light-related,hormone-related,stress-related,tissue-specific,and circadian-related elements,and they could participate in a variety of biological processes.Phylogenetic analysis showed that the HCT proteins of peach were closely related to the HCT proteins of plum and had a close evolutionary relationship.The qRT-PCR analysis indicated that the expression levels of PpHCT1 and PpHCT2 showed an opposite trend to the accumulation of CGA,whereas the expression levels of PpHCT4,PpHCT5,PpHCT7,PpHCT8,and PpHCT11 demonstrated the same trend as CGA accumulation.It was worth noting that only PpHCT4 and PpHCT5 were highly expressed in the two high-CGA cultivars but showed low levels of expression in the two low-CGA cultivars.Therefore,it was hypothesized that these two genes might be key genes to the synthesis of CGA in peach fruit.Those findings provide a theoretical basis for further study on the biological functions of the HCT gene and help to reveal the molecular mechanism of CGA.Ziwen Su Meng Sun Zhixiang Cai Shaolei Guo Jiyao Li Bintao Zhao Zhijun Shen Ruijuan Ma Juan Yan Mingliang Yu 2023Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,4:0

13Twenty years of ocean observations with China Argo显示文摘The international Argo program,a global observational array of nearly 4000 autonomous profiling floats initiated in the late 1990s,which measures the water temperature and salinity of the upper 2000 m of the global ocean,has revolutionized oceanography.It has been recognized one of the most successful ocean observation systems in the world.Today,the proposed decade action“OneArgo”for building an integrated global,full-depth,and multidisciplinary ocean observing array for beyond 2020 has been endorsed.In the past two decades since 2002,with more than 500 Argo deployments and 80 operational floats currently,China has become an important partner of the Argo program.Two DACs have been established to process the data reported from all Chinese floats and deliver these data to the GDACs in real time,adhering to the unified quality control procedures proposed by the Argo Data Management Team.Several Argo products have been developed and released,allowing accurate estimations of global ocean warming,sea level change and the hydrological cycle,at interannual to decadal scales.In addition,Deep and BGC-Argo floats have been deployed,and time series observations from these floats have proven to be extremely useful,particularly in the analysis of synoptic-scale to decadal-scale dynamics.The future aim of China Argo is to build and maintain a regional Argo fleet comprising approximately 400 floats in the northwestern Pacific,South China Sea,and Indian Ocean,accounting for 9%of the global fleet,in addition to maintaining 300 Deep Argo floats in the global ocean(25%of the global Deep Argo fleet).A regional BGC-Argo array in the western Pacific also needs to be established and maintained.Zenghong Liu Xiaogang Xing Zhaohui Chen Shaolei Lu Xiaofen Wu Hong Li Chunling Zhang Lijing Cheng Zhaoqin Li Chaohui Sun Jianping Xu Dake Chen Fei Chai 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,2:0
14Efficacy and safety of systematic corticosteroids among severe COVID-19 patients:a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘The benefits and harms of corticosteroids for patients with severe coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)remain unclear.We systematically searched PubMed,Embase,and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials from December 31,2019 to October 1,2020 to identify randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that evaluated corticosteroids in severe COVID-19 patients.The primary outcome was all-cause mortality at the longest follow-up.Secondary outcomes included a composite disease progression(progression to intubation,ventilation,extracorporeal membrane oxygenation,ICU transfer,or death among those not ventilated at enrollment)and incidence of serious adverse events.A random-effects model was applied to calculate risk ratio(RR)with 95%confidence intervals(Cis).We used the Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development,and Evaluation approach to evaluate the certainty of the evidence.Seven RCTs involving 6250 patients were included,of which the Randomized Evaluation of COVID-19 Therapy(RECOVERY)trial comprised nearly 78%of all included subjects.Results showed that corticosteroids were associated with a decreased all-cause mortality(27.3 vs.31.1%;RR:0.85;95%CI:0.73-0.99;P=0.04;low-certainty evidence).Trial sequential analysis suggested that more trials were still required to confirm the results.However,such survival benefit was absent if RECOVERY trial was excluded(RR:0.83;95%CI:0.65-1.06;P=0.13).Furthermore,corticosteroids decreased the occurrence of composite disease progression(30.6 vs.33.3%;RR:0.77;95%CI:0.64-0.92;P=0.005),but not increased the incidence of serious'adverse events(3.5 vs.3.4%;RR:1.16;95%CI:0.39-3.43;P=0.79).Shaolei Ma Changsheng Xu Shijiang Liu Xiaodi Sun Renqi Li Mingjie Mao Shanwu Feng Xian Wang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,3:0
15In-situ Generation of Hydroxyl Layers in Coo@FeSe_(2) Catalyst for High Selectivity Seawater Electrolysis显示文摘Seawater electrolysis holds great promise for hydrogen production in the future,while the development of anodic catalysts has been severely hampered by the side-reaction,chloride evolution reaction.In this work,nano-flower-cluster structured Coo@FeSe_(2)/CF catalysts are synthesized via a scalable electrodeposition technique,and the performance is systematically studied.The oxygen evolution reaction(OER)overpotential of Co0@FeSe_(2)/CF is 267 mV at 100 mA.cm^(-2),which is significantly lower than that of the IrO_(2) catalyst(435 mV).Additionally,the catalyst shows high selectivity for OER(97.9%)and almost no loss of activity after a durability test for 1100 h.The impressive performance is attributed to the dense rod-like structure with abundant active centers after electrochemical activation and the in-situ generated CoOOH and FeOOH that improve the catalytic activity of the catalyst.The synergistic effect induced bythenon-uniform structureendows the catalyst with excellent stability.Suyang Feng Peng Rao Xiao Wu Ke Li Anyuan Qi Yanhui Yu Jing Li Peilin Deng Yuliang Yuan Shaolei Wang Xinlong Tian Zhenye Kang 2024Chinese Journal of Chemistry2024,42,1:0

17A Large Acute Gastroenteritis Outbreak Associated with Both Campylobacter coli and Human Sapovirus—Beijing Municipality,China,2021显示文摘Summary What is already known about this topic?Campylobacter is a significant foodborne pathogen that leads to global outbreaks of acute gastroenteritis(AGE)usually affecting less than 30 individuals.Human sapovirus(HuSaV)is an enteric virus responsible for sporadic cases and outbreaks of AGE worldwide.In a study conducted in Beijing,HuSaV detection ranked second after norovirus.What is added by this report?We present a discussion of the first large-scale outbreak of AGE caused by both Campylobacter coli(C.coli)and HuSaV.The outbreak involved a total of 996 patients and exhibited two distinct peaks over a period of 17 days.Through case-control studies,we identified exposure to raw water from a secondary water supply system as a significant risk factor.Among 83 patients,49 samples tested positive for C.coli,39 samples tested positive for HuSaV,and 27 samples tested positive for both pathogens using real-time polymerase chain reaction detection.Furthermore,whole-genome sequencing of 17 C.coli isolates obtained from 17 patients revealed that all isolates belonged to a highly clonal strain of C.coli.What are the implications for public health practice?Outbreaks of AGE resulting from multiple pathogen infections warrant increased attention.This report emphasizes the significance of ensuring the safety of drinking water,particularly in secondary supply systems.Lin Zou Ying Li Guilan Zhou Zhenzhou Huang Changyan Ju Chunyan Zhao Xiang Gao Bojun Zhen Ping Zhang Xiaochen Guo Jing Zhang Yang Zhang Bo Liu Shaolei Zhou Aixia Yan Ying Kang Yanchun Wang Hongmei Ma Xiaohui Li Maojun Zhang 2023China CDC weekly2023,5,52:0
18Fully solution processed liquid metal features as highly conductive and ultrastretchable conductors显示文摘Liquid metal represents a highly conductive and inherently deformable conductor for the development of stretchable electronics.The widespread implementations of liquid metal towards functional sensors and circuits are currently hindered by the lack of a facile and scalable patterning approach.In this study,we report a fully solution-based process to generate patterned features of the liquid metal conductor.The entire process is carried out under ambient conditions and is generally compatible with various elastomeric substrates.The as-prepared liquid metal feature exhibits high resolution(100μm),excellent electrical conductivity(4.15×10^(4)S cm^(−1)),ultrahigh stretchability(1000%tensile strain),and mechanical durability.The practical suitability is demonstrated by the heterogeneous integration of light-emitting diode(LED)chips with liquid metal interconnects for a stretchable and wearable LED array.The solution-based technique reported here is the enabler for the facile patterning of liquid metal features at low cost,which may find a broad range of applications in emerging fields of epidermal sensors,wearable heaters,advanced prosthetics,and soft robotics.Hangyu Zhu Shaolei Wang Menghu Zhang Tingyu Li Gaohua Hu Desheng Kong 2021npj Flexible Electronics2021,5,1:0
19Heterojunction synergistic catalysis of MXene-supported PrF_(3)nanosheets for the efficient hydrogen storage of AlH_(3)显示文摘Aluminum hydride is a promising chemical hydrogen storage material that can achieve dehydrogenation under mild conditions as well as high hydrogen storage capacity.However,designing an efficient and cost-effective catalyst,especially a synergistic catalyst,for realizing low-temperature and high-efficiency hydrogen supply remains challenging.In this study,the heterojunction synergistic catalyst of Ti_(3)C_(2)supported PrF_(3)nanosheets considerably improved the dehydrogenation kinetics of AlH_(3)at low temperatures and maintained a high hydrogen storage capacity.In the synergistic catalyst,Pr produced a synergistic coupling interaction through its unique electronic structure.The sandwich structure with close contact between the two phases enhanced the interaction between species and the synergistic effect.The initial dehydrogenation temperature of the composite is reduced to 70.2℃,and the dehydrogenation capacity is 8.6 wt.%at 120℃ in 90 min under the kinetic test,which reached 93%of the theoretical hydrogen storage capacity.The catalyst considerably reduced the activation energy of the dehydrogenation reaction.Furthermore,the multielectron pairs on the surface of the catalyst promoted electron transfer and accelerated the reaction.Long Liang Shaolei Zhao Chunli Wang Dongming Yin Shaohua Wang Qingshuang Wang Fei Liang Shouliang Li Limin Wang Yong Cheng 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0
