| 1 | A 12-year cohort study on the efficacy of plasmaderived hepatitis B vaccine in rural newborns显示文摘AIM To understand the anti-HBs persistenceand the long-term preventive efficacy in ruralnewborns after vaccination with plasma-derivedhepatitis B vaccine.METHODS In the time of expanded program onimmunization(EPI),the newborns werevaccinated with 10μg×3 doses of hepatitis Bvaccine and 762 newborns who were HBsAgnegative after primary immunization wereselected for cohort observation from 1986 to1998.Their serum samples were detectedqualitatively and quantitatively for hepatitis Binfecting markers,including HBsAg,anti-HBsand anti-HBc by SPRIA Kits.The annual HBsAgpositive conversion rate was counted by life-table method.RESULTS①The anti-HBs positive rate was94.44% for the babies born to HBsAg negativemothers and 84.21% for those born to HBsAgpositive mothers in the 1st year afterimmunization,and dropped to 51.31% and52.50% in the 12th year respectively.GMT valuewas dropped from 31.62 to 3.13 and 23.99 to 3.65in the 2nd to the 12th year respectively.Therewas a marked drop in GMT at the 3rd to the 5thyear,and in anti-HBs positive rate at the 9th tothe 10th year.②In the period of 12 yearsobservation,the person-year HBsAg positive conversion rates were 0.12%(5/4150.0)innewborns born to HBsAg negative mothers and0.20%(1/508.0)in those born to HBsAgpositive mothers,and none of the HBsAgpositive converted children became HBsAgchronic carriers.Compared with the baselinebefore immunization,the protective rates were97.19% and 95.32% respectively.CONCLUSION The protective efficacy ofplasma-derived hepatitis B vaccine persisted atleast 12 years,and a booster dose seems notnecessary within at least 12 years after theprimary three-doses immunization to newbornsborn to HBsAg negative mothers. | Hong Bin Liu Zong Da Meng Jing Chen Ma Chang Quan Han Ying Lin Zhang Zhan Chun Xing Yu Wei Zhang Yu Zhong Liu Hui Lin Cao | 2000 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,3: | 11 |

| 3 | Impact of cap-assisted colonoscopy during transendoscopic enteral tubing:A randomized controlled trial显示文摘BACKGROUND Colonic transendoscopic enteral tubing(TET)requires double cecal intubation,raising a common concern of how to save cecal intubation time and make the tube stable.We hypothesized that cap-assisted colonoscopy(CC)might reduce the second cecal intubation time and bring potential benefits during the TET procedure.AIM To investigate if CC can decrease the second cecal intubation time compared with regular colonoscopy(RC).METHODS This prospective multicenter,randomized controlled trial was performed at four centers.Subjects≥7 years needing colonic TET were recruited from August 2018 to January 2020.All subjects were randomly assigned to two groups.The primary outcome was the second cecal intubation time.Secondary outcomes included success rate,insertion pain score,single clip fixation time,purpose and retention time of TET tube,length of TET tube inserted into the colon,and all procedurerelated(serious)adverse events.RESULTS A total of 331 subjects were randomized to the RC(n=165)or CC(n=166)group.The median time of the second cecal intubation was significantly shorter for CC than RC(2.2 min vs 2.8 min,P<0.001).In patients with constipation,the median time of second cecal intubation in the CC group(n=50)was shorter than that in the RC group(n=43)(2.6 min vs 3.8 min,P=0.004).However,no difference was observed in the CC(n=42)and RC(n=46)groups of ulcerative colitis patients(2.0 min vs 2.5 min,P=0.152).The insertion pain score during the procedure in CC(n=14)was lower than that in RC(n=19)in unsedated colonoscopy(3.8±1.7 vs 5.4±1.9;P=0.015).Multivariate analysis revealed that only CC(odds ratio[OR]:2.250,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.161-4.360;P=0.016)was an independent factor affecting the second cecal intubation time in difficult colonoscopy.CC did not affect the colonic TET tube’s retention time and length of the tube inserted into the colon.Moreover,multivariate analysis found that only endoscopic clip number(OR:2.201,95%CI:1.541-3.143;P<0.001)was an independent factor affecting the retention time.Multiple regression analysis showed that height(OR:1.144,95%CI:1.027-1.275;P=0.014)was the only independent factor influencing the length of TET tube inserted into the colon in adults.CONCLUSION CC for colonic TET procedure is a safe and less painful technique,which can reduce cecal intubation time. | Quan Wen Kang-Jian Liu Bo-Ta Cui Pan Li Xia Wu Min Zhong Lu Wei Hua Tu Yu Yuan Da Lin Wen-Hung Hsu Deng-Chyang Wu Hong Yin Fa-Ming Zhang | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,39: | 1 |
| 4 | Description of adsorption of hydrophobic organic compounds on sediment using multi-component adsorption model显示文摘A chemical sequential separation procedure for sediment has been developed for the adsorptive investigation of hydrophobic organic compounds(HOCs) including four fractions: carbonate, hydrous metallic oxide(ferric oxide, manganese oxide and alumina), clay and organic matter. Adsorption isotherms of these hydrophobic solute probes, such as hexachloroethane, lindane and 1,2,4,5 tetrachlorobenzene were measured for model sorbents, model and natural sediment, and the latter of which was pretreated with the simplified sequential separation method. The linear and Langmuir models are applied to correlate the experimental data of humic substance and other model sorbents respectively. Multi component Adsorptive Model (MCAM) was used to simulate adsorption isotherms of model and natural sediment. The results reveal that(1) the separation efficiencies of carbonate, organic matter, ferric oxide, manganese oxide and alumina are 98.1%, 72.5%, 82.6%, 93.5% and 83.3%, respectively; (2) except for removing metallic oxide, the external structure of sediment is not changed greatly after separation; (3) the MCAM correlates the data of adsorption isotherm rather well with the maximal relative deviations of 9.76%, 6.78% and 9.53% for hexachloroethane, lindane and 1,2,4,5 tetrachlorobenaze in model sediment, respectively. | 8 | Neural stem cell transplantation alleviates functional cognitive deficits in a mouse model of tauopathy显示文摘The mechanisms of the transplantation of neural stem cells(NSCs)in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease remain poorly understood.In this study,NSCs were transplanted into the hippocampal CA1 region of the rTg(tau P301L)4510 mouse model,a tauopathy model that is thought to reflect the tau pathology associated with Alzheimer’s disease.The results revealed that NSC transplantation reduced the abnormal aggregation of tau,resulting in significant improvements in the short-term memory of the tauopathy model mice.Compared with wild-type and phosphate-buffered saline(PBS)-treated mice,mice that received NSC transplantations were characterized by changes in the expression of multiple proteins in brain tissue,particularly those related to the regulation of tau aggregation or misfolding.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analysis and Gene Ontology(GO)function analysis revealed that these proteins were primarily enriched in pathways associated with long-term potentiation,neurogenesis,and other neurobiological processes.Changes in the expression levels of key proteins were verified by western blot assays.These data provided clues to improve the understanding of the functional capacity associated with NSC transplantation in Alzheimer’s disease treatment.This study was approved by the Beijing Animal Ethics Association and Ethics Committee of Beijing Institute of Technology(approval No.SYXK-BIT-school of life science-2017-M03)in 2017. | He-Ao Zhang Chun-Xu Yuan Ke-Fu Liu Qi-Fan Yang Juan Zhao Hui Li Qing-Hu Yang Da Song Zhen-Zhen Quan Hong Qing | 2022 | Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,1: | 0 |
