| 2 | Effect of polypeptide 2B1 on condition of dampness pattern in rats in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine显示文摘OBJECTIVE: This study investigated how polypeptide 2B1 is involved in regulating and governing dampness in rat models with dampness pattern defined in terms ofTraditional Chinese Medicine.METHODS: We randomly divided 48 SPF10-week-old male Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats into a normal group, normal + Aristolochic acid I(AA-I) for5 min group, normal + AA-I for 60 min group,dampness pattern group(DS-Group), dampness pattern + AA-I for 5 min group, and dampness pattern + AA-I for 60 min group. Groups were then treated accordingly. | 3 | Hydrogen storage of multiwalled carbon nanotubes coated with Pd-Ni nanoparticles under moderate conditions显示文摘A type of novel material with a high hy-drogen storage capacity was prepared by supporting PdNi18 alloy nanoparticles,which were synthesized by using a new colloid method,on the surface of pretreated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). The average PdNi18 alloy particle sizes calculated from XRD patterns were ca. 3 nm,and the high dis-persion of these particles on MWCNTs was con-firmed by TEM image. | 6 | MNi_(4.8)Sn_(0.2)(M=La, Nd)-supported multi-walled carbon nanotube composites as hydrogen storage materials显示文摘Two composites LaNi4.8Sn0.2/CNTs and NdNi4.8Sn0.2/CNTs were prepared by an impregnation-reduction method. Their hydrogen storage capacity could reach up to 2.96 wt% and 2.88 wt% respectively at room temperature and 1.0 MPa pressure. These values, which might result from the synergetic effect between the alloy nanoparticles and the pretreated CNTs, were three times higher than those of the unsupported MNi4.8Sn0.2 (M=La, Nd) alloys under the same conditions. XRD and TEM revealed that the alloy particles were uniformly dispersed on the CNTs and the average particle size was ca. 30 nm. The composites also showed good stability and the hydrogen storage capacity decreased by less than 6% after 100 adsorption-desorption cycles. | 7 | Research on the discrimination methods of algae based on the fluorescence excitation spectra显示文摘The excitation spectra of chlorophyll (Chl) fluorescence can be used to differentiate phytoplankton populations at phylum level in vivo and in situ within a few minutes.The investigated phytoplankton divisions (Dinophyta,Bacillariophyta,Chrysophyta,Cyanophyta,Cryptophyta,Chlorophyta) are each characterized by a specific composition of photosynthetic antenna pigments and,consequently,by a specific excitation spectrum of the Chl fluorescence.Norm excitation spectra (emission of 680 nm and excitation of 400–600 nm) of every division were obtained from several species per division by a F4500 fluorescence spectrophotometer.Fisher’s linear discriminant analysis of the norm spectra shows that the divisions could be discriminated.The discrimination method,established by multivariate linear regression and weighted least squares,was used to differentiate the phytoplankton samples cultured in the laboratory and samples collected from the Jiaozhao Bay at division level.The correctly discriminated samples were more than 94% for single algal species ones,more than 84% for simulatively mixed ones,more than 83% for real mixed ones and 100% for samples collected from the Jiaozhou Bay for the dominant species.The method for phytoplankton differentiation described here can be applied to routine checking by fluorescence spectrophotometer,and benefit the monitoring and supervision tasks related to phytoplankton populations in the marine environments. | HU Xupeng SU Rongguo ZOU Weiming REN Shijun WANG Hongtao CHAI Xiaoping WANG Yiming | 2010 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2010,29,4: | 1 |

| 10 | Detection of genomic signatures for pig hairlessness using high-density SNP data显示文摘Hair provides thermal regulation for mammals and protects the skin from wounds,bites and ultraviolet(UV)radiation,and is important in adaptation to volatile environments.Pigs in nature are divided into hairy and hairless,which provide a good model for deciphering the molecular mechanisms of hairlessness.We conducted a genomic scan for genetically differentiated regions between hairy and hairless pigs using 60K SNP data,with the aim to better understand the genetic basis for the hairless phenotype in pigs.A total of 38405 SNPs in 498 animals from 36 diverse breeds were used to detect genomic signatures for pig hairlessness by estimating between-population(FST)values.Seven diversifying signatures between Yucatan hairless pig and hairy pigs were identified on pig chromosomes(SSC)1,3,7,8,10,11 and 16,and the biological functions of two notable genes,RGS17 and RB1,were revealed.When Mexican hairless pigs were contrasted with hairypigs,strong signatures were detected on SSC1 and SSC10,which harbor two functionally plausible genes,REV3L and BAMBI.KEGG pathway analysis showed a subset of overrepresented genes involved in the T cell receptor signaling pathway,MAPK signaling pathway and the tight junction pathways.All of these pathways may be important in local adaptability of hairless pigs.The potential mechanisms underlying the hairless phenotype in pigs are reported for the first time.RB1 and BAMBI are interesting candidate genes for the hairless phenotype in Yucatan hairless and Mexico hairless pigs,respectively.RGS17,REV3L,ICOS and RASGRP1 as well as other genes involved in the MAPK and T cell receptor signaling pathways may be important in environmental adaption by improved tolerance to UV damage in hairless pigs.These findings improve our understanding of the genetic basis for inherited hairlessness in pigs. | Ying SU Yi LONG Xinjun LIAO Huashui AI Zhiyan ZHANG Bin YANG Shijun XIAO Jianhong TANG Wenshui XIN Lusheng HUANG Jun REN Nengshui DING | 2014 | Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2014,1,4: | 0 |
| 11 | Origin and chromatin remodeling of young X/Y sex chromosomes in catfish with sexual plasticity显示文摘Assembly of a complete Y chromosome is a significant challenge in animals with an XX/XY sex-determination system.Re cently,we created YY-supermale yellow catfish by crossing XY males with sex-reversed XY females,providing a valuable model for Y-chromosome assembly and evolution.Here,we assembled highly homomorphic Y and X chromosomes by sequencing genomes of the YY supermale and XX female in yellow catfish,reve aling their nucleotide divergences with only less than 1%and with the same gene compositions.The sex-determining region(SDR)was identified to locate within a physical distance of0.3 Mb by FSTscanning.Strikingly,the incipient sex chromosomes were revealed to originate via autosome-autosome fusion and were characterized by a highly rearranged region with an SDR downstream of the fusion site.We found that the Y chromosome was at a very early stage of differentiation,as no clear evidence of evolutionary strata and classical structure features of recombination suppression for a rather late stage of Y-chromosome evolution were observed.Significantly,a number of sex-antagonistic mutations and the accumulation of repetitive elements were discovered in the SDR,which might be the main driver of the initial establishment of recombination suppression between young X and Y chromosomes.Moreover,distinct three-dimensional chromatin organizations of the Y and X chromosomes were identified in the YY supermales and XX females,as the X chromosome exhibited denser chromatin structure than the Y chromosome,while they respectively have significantly spatial interactions with female-and male-related genes compared with other autosomes.The chromatin configuration of the sex chromosomes as well as the nucleus spatial organization of the XX neomale were remodeled after sex reversal and similar to those in YY supermales,and a male-specific loop containing the SDR was found in the open chromatin region.Our results elucidate the origin of young sex chromosomes and the chromatin remodeling configuration in the catfish sexual plasticity. | Gaorui Gong Yang Xiong Shijun Xiao Xi-Yin Li Peipei Huang Qian Liao Qingqing Han Qiaohong Lin Cheng Dan Li Zhou Fan Ren Qi Zhou Jian-Fang Gui Jie Mei | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,2: | 0 |
| 12 | Microstructure and mechanical properties of directionally solidified Al-rich Ni_(3)Al-based alloy under static magnetic field显示文摘The influence of a longitudinal static magnetic field on microstructures and mechanical properties of Ni_(3)Al-based alloy during directional solidification at the growth speed of 25μm/s and 100μm/s has been experimentally investigated.Results reflected that the utilization of a 0.5 T magnetic field refines the Ni Al dendrites at both speeds of growth.When applying a high magnetic field,the columnar-to-equiaxed transition(CET)occurred at growth speed of 25μm/s and dendrite networks formed at growth speed of 100μm/s.Tensile property results indicated that the refinement of dendrites enhanced both plasticity and ultimate tensile strength of Ni-Al alloy.The change of microstructures and mechanical properties should be attributed to the combined action of the thermoelectric magnetic convection(TEMC)in mushy zone together with the thermoelectric magnetic force(TEMF)acting on the solid.When applying a low magnetic field(0.5 T),the TEMF is too small to fragment the dendrites,and the refined dendrites is mainly due to the TEMC in the interdendritic regions.At a lower growth speed,the TEMF is supposed to strong enough to fragment the dendrites and induce the occurrence of CET under 2 or 4 T.When the growth speed increased to 100μm/s,no obvious CET was observed,but a vertical secondary convection is induced by the circulation in the parallel plane,which promotes the growth of secondary and tertiary branches,leading to the formation of abnormally developed high order dendrites.The hierarchical dendritic structure was suggested to provide a channel for rapid crack propagation and thus degraded the mechanical properties. | Xin Liu Sansan Shuai Chenglin Huang Shijun Wu Tao Hu Chaoyue Chen Jiang Wang Zhongming Ren | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,15: | 0 |
| 13 | Multi-objective optimization of different dome reinforcement methods for composite cases显示文摘A multi-objective optimization method was proposed for different dome reinforcement methods of a filament-wound solid rocket motor composite case based on a Radial Basis Function(RBF)model.Progressive damage of the composite case was considered in a simulation based on Hashin failure criteria,and simulation results were validated by hydraulic burst tests to precisely predict the failure mode,failure position,and burst pressure.An RBF surrogate model was estab-lished and evaluated by Relative Average Absolute Error(RAAE),Relative Maximum Absolute Error(RMAE),Root Mean Squared Error(RMSE),and R^(2)methods to improve the optimization efficient of dome reinforcement.In addition,the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm(NSGA-II)was employed to establish multi-objective optimization models of variable-angle and variable-polar-radius dome reinforcements to investigate the coupling effect of the reinforcement angle,reinforcement layers,and reinforcement range on the case performance.Optimal reinforce-ment parameters were obtained and used to establish a progressive damage model of the composite case with dome reinforcement.In accordance with progressive damage analysis,the burst pressure and performance factor were obtained.Results illustrated that variable-angle dome reinforcement was the optimal reinforcement method compared with variable-polar-radius dome reinforcement as it could not only ensure the reinforcement angle’s continuous changing but also decrease the mass of composite materials.Compared with the unreinforced case,the reinforced case exhibited an increase in the burst pressure and performance factor of 36.1%and 23.5%,respectively. | Lei ZU Hui XU Shijun CHEN Jingxuan HE Qian ZHANG Ping REN Guiming ZHANG Liqiang WANG Qiaoguo WU Jianhui FU | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,4: | 0 |
| 14 | Enhanced low-humidity performance of proton-exchange membrane fuel cell by introducing hydrophilic CNTs in membrane electrode assembly显示文摘Hydrophilic carbon nanotubes(HCNTs)were introduced into the membrane electrode assembly(MEA)to improve its low-humidity performance.The effects of types,placement,loading,and relative humidity on the MEA performance were investigated.It has been found that the MEA with 20 wt%HCNTs loading both in anode and cathode achieved the best self-humidifying performance.Its current density reached 1550 mA cm^(2) at 0.6 V,with a maximum power density of 953 mW/cm^(2) at 70℃,30 psi and 30%relative humidity conditions.Besides,the stability test shows that its current density at 0.6 V only decreased by 6.4%after 44 h performance test,while the performance of blank MEA without HCNTs decreased by 45%within 6 h testing period.This extraordinary performance under low humidity condition is ascribed to that the HCNTs contained in the MEA improve the water management and mass transportation by functioning as a dispersant and hydrophilic agent. | Sanying Hou Hongqing Wang Jianwei Ren Chen Yao Lang Shi Shijun Liao | 2022 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2022,32,2: | 0 |
