Spatial patterns of ephemeral plants in Gurbantünggüt Desert显示文摘In the present research, the authors measured parameters of richness, cover and importance value of ephemeral and ephemeroid plants on south-north and east-west transects in the Gurbantünggüt Desert in early spring, and investigated and analyzed the microhabitats, such as terrain, geomorphology, soil physical-chemical properties and crusts. By comparison, the regional differences in the ephemeral distribution in the desert were revealed. The species of ephemeral plants in the south and center are the richest and those in the west are the poorest in the desert. The cover of ephemeral plants in the mid-south is higher than that in the north, and that in the mid-east is higher than that in the west. The response of ephemeral plants to the spatial variation of the desert habitat forms the population-habitat gradient of ephemeral plants. The characteristics are:(1) In the habitat with higher terrain, coarser textured soil with poorer sorting and correspondingly higher organic matter and lower alkali-saline contents,Carex physoides and Eremopyrum orientale are the dominant ephemeral plants;(2) In the dry habitat with lower terrain, looser textured soil, some organic matter,alkali-saline soil, and developed crust, the ephemeral plants Alyssum linifolium and Erodium oxyrrhynchum are of characteristic of drought and alkali-saline tolerance;(3) In the habitat with lower terrain, some water and more alkali-saline soil, the ephemeral plants Neotorularia torulosa and Hypecoum parviflorum being of alkali-saline tolerance are mainly developed. However, most ephemerals are distributed in a habitat order of higher terrain, some organic, and less alkali-saline soil on the above-mentioned ephemeral population-habitat gradient. The spatial gradient of variation in desert microhabitats is small, and as a whole, the physio-logical character of mesophytism is represented by the desert ephemerals. | QIAN YiBing WU ZhaoNing ZHANG LiYun ZHAO RuiFeng WANG XiaoYan LI YouMin | 2007 | Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,22: | 16

Space Debris Reentry Analysis Methods and Tools显示文摘The reentry of uncontrolled spacecraft may be broken into many pieces of debris at an altitude in the range of 75-85 km. The surviving fragments could pose great hazard and risk to ground and people. In recent years, methods and tools for predicting and analyzing debris reentry and ground risk assessment have been studied and developed in National Aeronautics and Space Ad-ministration (NASA), European Space Agency (ESA) and other organizations, including the group of the present authors. This paper reviews the current progress on this topic of debris reentry briefly. We outline the Monte Carlo method for uncertainty analysis, breakup prediction, and parameters affecting survivability of debris. The existing analysis tools can be classified into two categories, i.e. the object-oriented and the spacecraft-oriented methods, the latter being more accurate than the first one. The past object-oriented tools include objects of only simple shapes. For more realistic simulation, here we present an object-oriented tool debris reentry and ablation prediction system (DRAPS) developed by the present authors, which introduces new object shapes to 15 types, as well as 51 predefined motions and relevant aerodynamic and aerothermal models. The aerodynamic and aerothermal models in DRAPS are validated using direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method. | WU Ziniua HU Ruifeng QU Xi WANG Xiang WU Zhe | 2011 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2011,24,4: | 14
Research progress on electrical signals in higher plants显示文摘This review introduces the characteristics of electrical signals in higher plants and their corresponding physiological significance, and describes in detail the impact of environmental factors (e.g. light and temperature) on the electrical potential of the plants. Also, we evaluate the measurement techniques used for electrical signals in plants, including intracellular measurement, extracellular measurement, measurement of the ion channel based on the patch-clamp technique and on the non-invasive microelectrode vibrating probe technique. We also give a brief review of the applications of these methods for investigating electrical signals in plants. The ionic mechanism of electrical activity in plants is then discussed in terms of environmental response in higher plants, and this is used to provide a theoretical basis for quantitative description of the electrical signals in plants. A model for interpretation of the electrical signal mechanisms in higher plants is discussed, but further experiments are required for the verification of this model. | Xiaofei Yana, Zhongyi Wang a, Lan Huang a, Cheng Wang b, Ruifeng Hou b, Zhilong Xu b, Xiaojun Qiao b a College of Information and Electrical Engineering, China Agricultural University, Beijing 100083, China b National Engineering Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture, Beijing 100097, China | 2009 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,5: | 13
The impact of land use change on soil organic carbon and labile organic carbon stocks in the Longzhong region of Loess Plateau显示文摘Land use change (LUC) is widely recognized as one of the most important driving forces of global carbon cycles. The soil organic carbon (SOC) and labile organic carbon (LOC) stores were investigated at arable land (AL), artificial grassland (AG), artificial woodland (AW), abandoned arable land (AAL) and desert steppe (DS) in the Longzhong region of the Loess Plateau in Northwest China. The results showed that conversions from DS to AL, AL to AG and AL to AAL led to an increase in SOC content, while the conversion from DS to AW led to a decline. The differences in SOC content were significant between DS and AW at the 20-40 cm depth and between AL and AG at the 0-10 cm depth. The SOC stock in DS at the 0-100 cm depth was 39.4 t/hm 2 , increased by 28.48% after cultivation and decreased by 19.12% after conversion to AW. The SOC stocks increased by 2.11% from AL to AG and 5.10% from AL to AAL. The LOC stocks changed by a larger magnitude than the SOC stocks, which suggests that it is a more sensitive index of carbon dynamics under a short-term LUC. The LOC stocks increased at 0-20 cm and 0-100 cm depths from DS to AW, which is opposite to that observed for SOC. The proportion of LOC to SOC ranged from 0.14 to 0.20 at the 0-20 cm depth for all the five land use types, indicating low SOC dynamics. The allocation proportion of LOC increased for four types of LUC conversion, and the change in magnitude was largest for DS to AW (40.91%). The afforestation, abandonment and forage planting on arable land led to sequestration of SOC; the carbon was lost initially after afforestation. However, the carbon sink effect after abandonment may not be sustainable in the study area. | LiHua ZHANG ZhongKui XIE RuiFeng ZHAO YaJun WANG | 2012 | Journal of Arid Land2012,4,3: | 13
Review of shock wave detection method in CFD post-processing显示文摘In the present computational fluid dynamics (CFD) community, post-processing is regarded as a procedure to view parameter distribution, detect characteristic structure and reveal physical mechanism of fluid flow based on computational or experimental results. Field plots by contours, iso-surfaces, streamlines, vectors and others are traditional post-processing techniques. While the shock wave, as one important and critical flow structure in many aerodynamic problems, can hardly be detected or distinguished in a direct way using these traditional methods, due to possible confusions with other similar discontinuous flow structures like slip line, contact discontinuity, etc. Therefore, method for automatic detection of shock wave in post-processing is of great importance for both academic research and engineering applications. In this paper, the current status of methodologies developed for shock wave detection and implementations in post-processing platform are reviewed, as well as discussions on advantages and limitations of the existing methods and proposals for further studies of shock wave detection method. We also develop an advanced post-processing software, with improved shock detection. | Wu Ziniu Xu Yizhe Wang Wenbin Hu Ruifeng | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2013,26,3: | 11
Aerodynamic map for soft and hard hypersonic level flight in near space显示文摘In this note,we design a velocity-altitude map forhypersonic level flight in near space of altitude 20-100 km.This map displays aerodynamic-related parameters associ-ated with near space level flight, schematically or quantita-tively.Various physical conditions for the near-space levelflight are then characterized, including laminar or turbulentflow, rarefaction or continuous flow, aerodynamic heating, aswell as conditions for sustaining level flight with and withoutorbital effect. This map allows one to identify conditions tohave soft flight or hard flight, and this identification wouldbe helpful for making correct planning on detailed studies ofaerodynamics or making initial design of near space vehicles. | Ruifeng Hu Ziniu Wu Zhe Wu Xiaoxin Wang Zhongwei Tian School of Aerospace, Tsinghua University, 100084 Beijing, China | 2009 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2009,25,4: | 11
SIRT1 suppresses PMA and ionomycin-induced ICAM-1 expression in endothelial cells显示文摘Intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) plays an important role in the recruitment of leukocytes to the endothelium, which causes inflammation and initiation of atherosclerosis. We have previously shown that endothelium-specific over-expression of class III deacetylase SIRT1 decreases atherosclerosis. We therefore addressed the hypothesis that SIRT1 suppresses ICAM-1 expression in the endothelial cells. Here, we found that expression of SIRT1 and ICAM-1 was significantly induced by PMA and ionomycin (PMA/Io) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Adenovirus-mediated over-expression of SIRT1 significantly inhibited PMA/Io-induced ICAM-1 expression in HUVECs. Knockdown of SIRT1 by RNA interference (RNAi) resulted in increased expression of ICAM-1 in HUVECs. Luciferase report assay showed that over-expression of SIRT1 suppressed ICAM-1 promoter activity both in basic and in PMA/Io-induced conditions. We further found that SIRT1 was involved in transcription complex binding on the ICAM-1 promoter by chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assays. Furthermore, SIRT1 RNAi increased NF-κB p65 binding ability to the ICAM-1 promoter by ChIP assays. Overall, these data suggests that SIRT1 inhibits ICAM-1 expression in endothelial cells, which may contribute to its anti-atherosclerosis effect. | JIA YuYan GAO Peng CHEN HouZao WAN YanZhen ZHANG Ran ZHANG ZhuQin YANG RuiFeng WANG Xu XU Jing LIU DePei | 2013 | Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,1: | 9

Orientation dependent behavior of tensile-creep deformation of hot rolled Ti65 titanium alloy sheet显示文摘The mill products like sheet always have one or more severe textures inevitably, and its effect on mechanical properties is not a negligible issue. The orientation dependent tensile-creep behavior induced by rolling texture of Ti65 titanium alloy sheet has been systematically investigated at 650℃.There are some anisotropic characteristics between TD and RD of Ti65 sheet. The UTS and TYS of TD are higher than RD at 650℃.Besides,the creep endurance time of TD(172.6–174.5 h)is about three times longer than RD(55.6–65.1 h)at 650℃and 240 MPa.Moreover, the grains are inclined to form Texture III■after creep along with TD,but to form Texture I■after creep along with RD.Finally, the crack initiation site is different during creep in TD and RD.The reason for anisotropic properties of tensile and creep has been summarized in two aspects:(i)the change of the SFs(Schmid factors)value between TD and RD;(ii)the difference of creep mechanism between TD(grain boundary sliding)and RD(dislocation slip).Anisotropy of Ti65 sheet should be fully considered to increase structural efficiency in the engineering design and application. | Zhixin Zhang Jiangkun Fan Ruifeng Li Hongchao Kou Zhiyong Chen Qingjiang Wang Hailong Zhang Jian Wang Qi Gao Jinshan Li | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,16: | 7

Zirconium-containing UiO-66 as an efficient and reusable catalyst for transesterification of triglyceride with methanol显示文摘Zirconium-based MOFs of the UiO family have attracted considerable attention due to their high thermal, chemical and mechanical stability. With the aim of further exploring the applications of zirconium-based UiO-66 in acid-catalyzed reactions and elucidating the effects of the defects in UiO-66 materials on their catalytic performances, in this work, a series of zirconium-containing UiO-66 samples were synthesized by varying the synthesis temperatures and BDC/Zr(terephthalic acid/ZrCl_4) ratios in the synthesis system. The synthesized UiO-66 samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), N_2 adsorption-desorption,scanning electron microscopy(SEM), thermogravimetrical analysis(TGA), temperature-programmed desorption of NH_3(NH_3-TPD). Their catalytic performances were investigated in transesterification of tributyrin and soybean oil with methanol. The results showed that UiO-66 samples with different amounts of defects could be successfully prepared by varying the synthesis temperatures and/or the BDC/Zr ratios used in the synthesis system. The catalytic activities of the UiO-66 materials greatly depended on their linker defects and enhanced with the increase of the defect amount. The UiO-66 was an efficient catalyst for transesterification of tributyrin and soybean oil with methanol under mild reaction conditions and its catalytic activity was comparable to other solid acid catalysts reported in the literatures. The UiO-66 catalyst was relatively stable and could be reused. | Fan Zhou Ningyue Lu Binbin Fan Huigang Wang Ruifeng Li | 2016 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2016,25,5: | 6

Activation of STAT3 stimulates AHSP expression in K562 cells显示文摘Studies on the chaperone proteinα-hemoglobin stabilizing protein(AHSP)reveal that abundant AHSP in erythroid cells enhance the cells’tolerance to oxidative stress imposed by excessα-hemoglobin in pathological conditions. However, the potential intracellular modulation of AHSP expression itself in response to oxidative stress is still unknown. The present study examined the effect and molecular mechanism of STAT3,an oxidative regulator,on the expression of AHSP.AHSP expression increased in K562 cells upon cytokine IL-6-induced STAT3 activation and decreased in STAT3 knock-down K562 cells.Regulation of AHSP in oxidative circumstance was then examined inα-globin-overloaded K562 cells, and real-time PCR showed strengthened expression of both AHSP and STAT3.ChIP analysis showed binding of STAT3 to AHSP promoter and binding was significantly augmented with IL6 stimulation and uponα-globin overexpression.Dual luciferase reporter assays of the wildtype and mutated SB3 element,an IL-6RE site,in the AHSP promoter in K562 cells highlighted the direct regulatory effect of STAT3 on AHSP gene. Finally, direct binding of STAT3 to SB3 site of AHSP promoter was confirmed with EMSA assays. Our work reveals an adaptive AHSP regulation mediated by the redox-sensitive STAT3 signaling pathway, and provides clues to the therapeutic strategy for AHSP enhancement. | CAO Cong ZHAO GuoWei YU Wei XIE XueMin WANG WenTian YANG RuiFeng LV Xiang LIU DePei | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,5: | 5
Tomography of the dynamic stress coefficient for stress wave prediction in sedimentary rock layer under the mining additional stress显示文摘In this study, the tomography of dynamic stress coefficient(TDSC)was established based on a mechanical model of stress wave propagation in bedding planes and a mathematical model of the stress wave attenuation in rock masses. The reliability of the TDSC was verified by a linear bedding plane model and field monitoring.Generally, the TDSC in the dynamic stress propagation of bedding planes increases with the following conditions:(1)the increase of the normal stiffness of the bedding plane,(2)the increase of the incident angle of the stress wave,(3)the decrease of the incident frequency of the stress wave,or(4)the growth of three ratios(the ratios of rock densities, elastic moduli, and the Poisson’s ratios)of rocks on either side of bedding planes. The additional stress weakens TDSC linearly and slowly during the stress wave propagation in bedding planes, and the weakening effect increases with the growth of the three ratios.Besides, the TDSC decreases exponentially in the rock mass as propagation distance increases. In a field case, the TDSC decreases significantly as vertical and horizontal distances increase and its wave range increases as vertical distance increases in the sedimentary rock layers. | Wenlong Shen Guocang Shi Yungang Wang Jianbiao Bai Ruifeng Zhang Xiangyu Wang | 2021 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,4: | 5
High-sensitivity self-powered temperature/pressure sensor based on flexible Bi-Te thermoelectric film and porous microconed elastomer显示文摘Electronic skins are artificial skin-type multifunctional sensors, which hold great potentials in intelligent robotics, limb prostheses and human health monitoring. However,it is a great challenge to independently and accurately read various physical signals without power supplies. Here,a self-powered flexible temperature-pressure bimodal sensor based on high-performance thermoelectric films and porous microconed conductive elastic materials is presented.Through introducing flexible heat-sink design and harvesting body heat energy, the thin-film thermoelectric device could not only precisely sense temperature signal but also drive the pressure sensor for detecting external tactile stimulus. The integration of Bi-Te based thermoelectric film with high stability in wide temperature range enables the sensor to sense the ambient temperature with high resolution(<0.1 K)as well as excellent sensitivity(3.77 mV K^(-1)).Meanwhile,the porous microconed elastomer responds to pressure variation with low-pressure detection(16 Pa)and a high sensitivity of 37 kPa^(-1).Furthermore,the bimodal sensor could accurately and simultaneously monitor human wrist pulse and body temperature in real time, which demonstrates promising applications in self-powered electronic skins for human health monitoring systems. | Yaling Wang Wei Zhu Yuan Deng Pengcheng Zhu Yuedong Yu Shaoxiong Hu Ruifeng Zhang | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,8: | 4
The influence of intimacy on the ’iterative reactions’ during OX-ZEO process for aromatic production显示文摘The oxide-zeolite process provides a promising way for one-step production of aromatics from syngas, whereas the reasons for the dramatic effect of intimacy between oxide and zeolite in the composite catalyst on the product selectivity are still unclear. In order to explore the optimal intimacy and the essential influence factors, ZnCrOxcombined with ZSM-5 are employed to prepare the composite catalysts with different distances between the two components by changing the mixing methods. An aromatic selectivity of 74%(with CO conversion to be 16%) is achieved by the composite catalyst when the intimacy is in the range of nanometer. A so-called ‘iterative reactions’ mechanism of intermediates over oxides is then proposed and studied: the intermediate chemical can undergo a hydrogenation reaction on oxide. So the shorter the intermediates stay on oxide, the more of chance for C-C coupling takes place on zeolite to form aromatics. Moreover, the aero-environments of reaction is found to impact on the extent of iterative reaction as well. Therefore, when the intimacy between the two components changes, the extent of iterative reactions vary, resulting in alteration of product distribution. This work provides new insight in understanding the mechanisms during the complex process of OX-ZEO composite catalysis and sheds light to the design of a high-yield catalyst for synthetization of aromatics from syngas. | Xiaoli Yang Ting Sun Junguo Ma Xiong Su Ruifeng Wang Yaru Zhang Hongmin Duan Yanqiang Huang Tao Zhang | 2019 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,8: | 4

Efficacy of inverso isomer of CendR peptide on tumor tissue penetration显示文摘The dense extracellular matrix and high interstitial fluid pressure of tumor tissues prevent the ability of anti-tumor agents to penetrate deep into the tumor parenchyma for treatment effects. C-end rule(CendR) peptides can enhance the permeability of tumor blood vessels and tumor tissues via binding to neuropilin-1(NRP-1), thus aiding in drug delivery. In this study, we selected one of the CendR peptides(sequence RGERPPR) as the parent L-peptide and substituted D-amino acids for the L-amino acids to synthesize its inverso peptide D(RGERPPR). We investigated the NRP-1 binding activity and tumorpenetrating ability of D(RGERPPR). We found that the binding affinity of D(RGERPPR) with NRP-1 and the cellular uptake was significantly higher than that of RGERPPR. Evans Blue tests revealed that D(RGERPPR) exhibited improved tumor-penetrating ability in C6, U87 and A549 tumor-bearing nude mice. Using nude mice bearing A549 xenograft tumors as a model, we found that the rate of tumor growth in the group co-administered with D(RGERPPR) and gemcitabine(Gem) was significantly lower than the gemcitabine-treated group with a tumor suppression rate(TSR%) of 55.4%. Together, our results demonstrate that D(RGERPPR) is a potential tumor-penetrating peptide. | Ruifeng Wang Qing Shen Xue Li Cao Xie Weiyue Lu Songli Wang Jing Wang Dongli Wang Min Liu | 2018 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2018,8,5: | 3
