2A single circular chromosome yeast显示文摘Dear editor,Most of the prokaryotic cells contain a single circular chromosome.In contrast, the eukaryotic cells usually contain multiple linear chromosomes. 3Chrysanthemum-like high-entropy diboride nanoflowers: A new class of high-entropy nanomaterials显示文摘High-entropy nanomaterials have been arousing considerable interest in recent years due to their huge composition space,unique microstructure,and adjustable properties.Previous studies focused mainly on high-entropy nanoparticles,while other high-entropy nanomaterials were rarely reported.Herein,we reported a new class of high-entropy nanomaterials,namely(Tao2Nbo2Ti.2Wo.2Moo2)B2 high-entropy diboride(HEB-1)nanoflowers,for the first time.Formation possibility of HEB-1 was first theoretically analyzed from two aspects of lattice size difference and chemical reaction thermodynamics.We then successfully synthesized HEB-1 nanoflowers by a facile molten salt synthesis method at 1423 K.The as-synthesized HEB-1 nanoflowers showed an interesting chrysanthemum-like morphology assembled from numerous well-aligned nanorods with diameters of 20--30 nm and lengths of 100-200 nm.Meanwhile,these nanorods possessed a single-crystalline hexagonal structure of metal diborides and highly compositional uniformity from nanoscale to microscale.In addition,the formation of the as-synthesized HEB-I nanoflowers could be well interpreted by a classical surface-contolled crystal growth theory.This work not only enriches the categories of high-entropy nanomaterials but also opens up a new research field on high-entropy diboride nanomaterials.Da LIU Honghua LIU Shanshan NING Yanhui CHU 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,3:4

5Negative association of time in range and urinary albumin excretion rate in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus:a retrospective study of inpatients显示文摘Background:Time in range(TIR)refers to the time an individual spends within their target glucose range,which now has been popularized as an important metric to classify glycemic management and also recognized as an important outcome of current diabetes therapies.This study aimed to investigate the association between TIR and the severity of the urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the data of 1014 inpatients with T2DM at the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Peking University International Hospital,China.TIR was defined as the percentage of blood glucose within the target range of 3.90-10.00 mmol/L.Urine samples for assessment of UAER were collected for 3 consecutive days from the start of hospitalization.Results:The TIR values for patients with normal urine levels of albumin,microalbuminuria,and macroalbuminuria were 70%±20%,50%±20%,and 30%±20%,respectively(allP<0.001).The patients were stratified according to quartiles of TIR as follows:quartile(Q)1,<55%;Q2,55%-72%;Q3,73%-83%;and Q4,>83%.The incidences of microalbuminuria in Q1,Q2,Q3,and Q4 were 41.1%,21.6%,7.1%,and 5.5%(allP<0.001),respectively.The respective incidences of macroalbuminuria were 24.2%,1.1%,1.4%,and 0%(allP<0.001).In multinomial logistic regression analyses,TIR was significantly correlated with microalbuminuria(odds ratio[OR]0.58,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.52-0.65,P<0.001)and macroalbuminuria(OR 0.26,95%CI:0.18-0.38,P<0.001)after adjusting for age,sex,body mass index,diabetes duration,systolic blood pressure,and levels of triglycerides,glycosylated hemoglobin A1c,and creatinine.Conclusion:The proportion of blood glucose in TIR is closely related to the severity of UAER in patients with T2DM.Sanbao Chai Shanshan Wu Sixu Xin Ning Yuan Jianbin Sun Xiaomei Zhang Linong Ji 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,9:3
6Comparative transcriptome analysis of purple-fleshed sweet potato provides insights into the molecular mechanism of anthocyanin biosynthesis显示文摘Sweet potato, Ipomoea batatas, is a globally important food crop. The purple-fleshed sweet potato, rich in anthocyanins, has great potential for both nutritional and pharmaceutical uses. In this study, we characterized the root transcriptomes of the purple-fleshed sweet potato cv.Jingshu 6 and its mutant JS6-5 with high anthocyanin content by high-throughput RNA sequencing. A total of22873364 and 27955097 high quality reads were obtained from Jingshu 6 and JS6-5, respectively, and assembled into35592 unigenes. In all, we obtained 1566 differentially expressed genes(DEGs). Among them, 994 were upregulated and 572 were downregulated in JS6-5 compared to the expression in Jingshu 6. A total of 1436 DEGs were annotated, in which 847 DEGs had gene ontology(GO) terms and 329 DEGs were assigned to 84 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathways. Most importantly, 23 differentially expressed genes and 24 transcription factors were identified as candidate genes involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis. In addition, 2349 SSRs were detected. 7Kilometers Long Graphene-Coated Optical Fibers for Fast Thermal Sensing显示文摘The combination of optical fiber with graphene has greatly expanded the application regimes of fiber optics,from dynamic optical control and ultrafast pulse generation to high precision sensing.However,limited by fabrication,previous graphene-fiber samples are typically limited in the micrometer to centimeter scale,which cannot take the inherent advantage of optical fibers—longdistance optical transmission.Here,we demonstrate kilometers long graphene-coated optical fiber(GCF)based on industrial graphene nanosheets and coating technique.The GCF shows unusually high thermal diffusivity of 24.99 mm^(2) s^(-1) in the axial direction,measured by a thermal imager directly.This enables rapid thermooptical response both in optical fiber Bragg grating sensors at one point(18-fold faster than conventional fiber)and in long-distance distributed fiber sensing systems based on backward Rayleigh scattering in optical fiber(15-fold faster than conventional fiber).This work realizes the industrial-level graphene-fiber production and provides a novel platform for two-dimensional material-based optical fiber sensing applications.Yiyong Guo Bing Han Junting Du Shanshan Cao Hua Gao Ning An Yiwei Li Shujie An Zengling Ran Yue Lin Wencai Ren Yunjiang Rao Baicheng Yao 2021Research2021,,1:2
8Detection of QTL and QTN and candidate genes for oil content in soybean using a combination of four-way-RIL and germplasm populations显示文摘Soybean is a source of edible oil for humans and provides a third of the vegetable oil consumed worldwide.Increasing seed oil content in seeds is thus a key objective in soybean breeding.In the present study,a four-way recombinant inbred line(FW-RIL)population comprising 144 lines,planted in 10 environments,and a germplasm panel of 455 accessions,planted in two environments,were used to collect oil-content phenotypes.First,59 quantitative trait loci(QTL)were detected in the FW-RIL population by inclusive complete interval mapping on a linkage map consisting of 2232 single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)markers.Also in the FW-RILs,44 quantitative trait nucleotides(QTNs)were detected by association analysis using 109,676 SNP markers and fivemethods of multi-locus genome-wide association study.Second,77 QTN were detected by association analysis in the germplasm panel using 63,306 markers.Comparison of the QTL and QTN suggested four QTN controlling oil content.Pathway analysis was performed on genes in attenuation regions of these four QTN,and two candidate genes involved in the synthesis or metabolism of soybean oil were identified.These findings provide useful information about the genetics of oil content and may contribute to its genetic improvement by marker-assisted selection.Xiyu Li Kaixin Zhang Xu Sun Shanshan Huang Jiajing Wang Chang Yang Mahfishan Siyal Chao Wang Chunlan Guo Xiping Hu Wen-Xia Li Hailong Ning 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,5:2

102 μm optical frequency comb generation via optical parametric oscillation from a lithium niobate optical superlattice box resonator显示文摘Optical parametric oscillators(OPOs) can downconvert the pump laser to longer wavelengths with octave separation via χ^((2)), which is widely used for laser wavelength extension including mid-infrared(MIR) generation.Such a process can be integrated in monolithic resonators, being compact and low in threshold. In this work, we show that the monolithic χ^((2))mini-OPO can also be used for optical frequency comb generation around 2096 nm and enters the boundary of MIR range. A new geometry called an optical superlattice box resonator is developed for this realization with near-material-limited quality factor of 4.0 × 10^(7). Only a continuous-wave near-infrared pump laser is required, with OPO threshold of 80 mW and output power up to 340 mW. Revival temporal profiles are measured at a detectable repetition frequency of 1.426 GHz, and narrow beat note linewidth of less than 10 Hz shows high comb coherence. These results are in good agreement with our simulation for a stable comb generation. 11Exploring pathogenesis in subjects with subjective Tinnitus having kidney deficiency pattern in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine based on serum metabolic profiles显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the metabolic pathogenesis in subjects with subjective tinnitus(ST)having kidney deficiency pattern(KDP)(ST/KDP) in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine.METHODS: Three groups of subjects, including healthy individuals, subjects with ST/KDP, and subjects who were healthy initially and then developed ST/KDP one year later(healthy → ST/KDP),were recruited for this study. Serum metabolic profiles of all subjects were analyzed using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadruple-time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The metabolic characteristics of the ST/KDP subjects were determined, and the corresponding biomarkers were predicted. The metabolomics data from the healthy → ST/KDP subjects were collected for further verification.RESULTS: Twelve metabolites in the ST/KDP subjects were different from those of the healthy control subjects. Of these metabolites, according to the prediction, except for octanoic acid, other metabolites might characterize ST/KDP. Ten metabolites at the outcome ST/KDP stage were different from those at the initial(control) stage. Through the comparison of these metabolites with the predicted metabolites, five common metabolites, including upregulated glutamate, serotonin, oroticacid and 8-oxoguanine, as well as downregulated taurine, were found. 15Joint Probability Analysis and Prediction of Sea Ice Conditions in Liaodong Bay显示文摘Sea ice conditions in Liaodong Bay of China are often described by sea ice grades,which classify annual sea ice conditions based on the annual maximum sea ice thickness(AM-SIT)and annual maximum floating ice extent(AM-FIE).The joint probability distribution of AM-SIT and AM-FIE was established on the basis of their data pairs from 1949/1950 to 2019/2020 in Liaodong Bay.The joint intensity index of the sea ice condition in the current year is calculated,and the joint classification criteria of the sea ice grades in past years are established on the basis of the joint intensity index series.A comparison of the joint criteria with the 1973 and 2022 criteria revealed that the joint criteria of the sea ice grade match well,and the joint intensity index can be used to quantify the sea ice condition over the years.A time series analysis of the sea ice grades and the joint intensity index sequences based on the joint criteria are then performed.Results show a decreasing trend of the sea ice condition from 1949/1950 to 2019/2020,a mutation in 1990/1991,and a period of approximately 91 years of the sea ice condition.In addition,the Gray-Markov model(GMM)is applied to predict the joint sea ice grade and the joint intensity index of the sea ice condition series in future years,and the error between the results and the actual sea ice condition in 2020/2021 is small.LIAO Zhenkun DONG Sheng TAO Shanshan HUA Yunfei JIA Ning 2024Journal of Ocean University of China2024,23,1:0
16A carbon nanoparticle-peptide fluorescent sensor custom-made for simple and sensitive detection of trypsin显示文摘Herein,we report a novel sensor to detect trypsin using a purpose-designed fluorescein-labelled peptide with negatively charged carbon nanoparticles(CNPs)modified by acid oxidation.The fluorescence of the fluorescein-labelled peptide was quenched by CNPs.The sensor reacted with trypsin to cleave the peptide,resulting in the release of the dye moiety and a substantial increase in fluorescence intensity,which was dose-and time-dependent,and trypsin could be quantified accordingly.Correspondingly,the biosensor has led to the development of a convenient and efficient fluorescent method to measure trypsin activity,with a detection limit of 0.7 mg/mL.The method allows rapid determination of trypsin activity in the normal and acute pancreatitis range,suitable for point-of-care testing.Furthermore,the applicability of the method has been demonstrated by detecting trypsin in spiked urine samples.Shanshan Hou Tingting Feng Na Zhao Jiaxin Zhang Huibin Wang Ning Liang Longshan Zhao 2020Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,5:0
17Ion-induced white-light-emitting polymeric hydrogels with high mechanical strength and reversible stimuli-responsive properties显示文摘We have developed a facile strategy to fabricate model multicolor hydrogels via a straightforward mixing process of poly acrylonitrile-grafted methacrylamide(PANMAM),polymethacrylic acid(PMAA)and doped lanthanide(Eu/Tb)and zinc ions to form the interpenetrating dual-polymer gel networks.The hydrogels exhibit excellent tunability of multi-spectrum emission colors(including white light)by simply varying the stoichiometry of metal ions.Furthermore,taking the advantage of different metal ion response mechanisms,we have demonstrated the reversible acidity/alkalinity stimuli-responsive behaviors of white-light-emitting hydrogel(WLE gel).Meanwhile,the unique cross-linked network formed through hydrogen-bonding,metal-ligand coordination and ionic interaction is introduced to achieve favorable mechanical strength of hydrogels.These properties enable the possibility in obtaining fluorescent patterns on hydrogels,which are promising candidate for encrypted information with improved security.Shanshan Chen Liying Yin Lin Liu Ning Zhang Dewen Dong 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,10:0

19Lumbar spine localisation method based on feature fusion显示文摘To eliminate unnecessary background information,such as soft tissues in original CT images and the adverse impact of the similarity of adjacent spines on lumbar image segmentation and surgical path planning,a two‐stage approach for localising lumbar segments is proposed.First,based on the multi‐scale feature fusion technology,a non‐linear regression method is used to achieve accurate localisation of the overall spatial region of the lumbar spine,effectively eliminating useless background information,such as soft tissues.In the second stage,we directly realised the precise positioning of each segment in the lumbar spine space region based on the non‐linear regression method,thus effectively eliminating the interference caused by the adjacent spine.The 3D Intersection over Union(3D_IOU)is used as the main evaluation indicator for the positioning accuracy.On an open dataset,3D_IOU values of 0.8339�0.0990 and 0.8559�0.0332 in the first and second stages,respectively is achieved.In addition,the average time required for the proposed method in the two stages is 0.3274 and 0.2105 s respectively.Therefore,the proposed method performs very well in terms of both pre-cision and speed and can effectively improve the accuracy of lumbar image segmentation and the effect of surgical path planning.Yonghong Zhang Ning Hu Zhuofu Li Xuquan Ji Shanshan Liu Youyang Sha Xiongkang Song Jian Zhang Lei Hu Weishi Li 2023CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2023,8,3:0
20Conversion of phenol to cyclohexane in the aqueous phase over Ni/zeolite bi-functional catalysts显示文摘A series of Ni/HZSM-5 and Ni/HIM-5 bi-functional catalysts were synthesized and applied to the aqueous-phase hydrodeoxygenation(HDO)of phenol.The Ni dispersibility and particle sizes were shown to be directly related to the porosity and crystal sizes of the parent zeolites,which further influenced the catalytic performances.The large pores and small crystal sizes of the parent zeolites were beneficial for dispersing Ni and forming small Ni particles,and the corresponding Ni/zeolite catalyst exhibited a higher phenol conversion and selectivity towards hydrocarbons.Importantly,the Ni/HIM-5 bi-functional catalyst exhibited a high activity(98.3%)and high selectivity for hydrocarbons(98.8%)when heated at 220°C for 1 h and is thus a new potential catalyst for the HDO of phenolics to form hydrocarbons in the aqueous phase.Jimei Zhang Fuping Tian Junwen Chen Yanchun Shi Hongbin Cao Pengge Ning Shanshan Sun Yongbing Xie 2021Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021,15,2:0
