1The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 2Progress of Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA)显示文摘Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA) will take the advantage of the ultra-low background of CJPL lab and high current accelerator based on an ECR source and a highly sensitive detector to directly study for the first time a number of crucial reactions occurring at their relevant stellar energies during the evolution of hydrostatic stars. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. 3Hearing analysis in heterozygous and homozygous klotho gene deficient mice显示文摘Objective: To understand the crucial role of the klotho gene in hearing development in mouse models.Methods: PCR was used to identify CBA mice with different genotypes, i.e. WT, heterozygous(klotho +/-)or homozygous(klotho-/-). Mice phenotype and weight were recorded postnatal 25 days(P-25) and auditory brainstem responses(ABR) were used to determine auditory function at P-60.Results: klotho-/-mice tended to have smaller size, lighter weight and higher ABR thresholds at P-60,showing early onset age-related hearing loss(ARHL).Conclusion: Heterozygous and homozygous klotho deficient mice exhibit different degrees of hearing loss at young age, with homozygous mice(klotho-/-) showing more severe hearing loss. 4Ultrawideband chromatic aberration-free meta-mirrors显示文摘Chromatic aberration-free meta-devices(e.g.,achromatic meta-devices and abnormal chromatic meta-devices)play an essential role in modern science and technology.However,current efforts suffer the issues of low efficiency,narrow operating band,and limited wavefront manipulation capability.We propose a general strategy to design chromatic aberration-free meta-devices with high-efficiency and ultrabroadband properties,which is realized by satisfying the key criteria of desirable phase dispersion and high reflection amplitudes at the target frequency interval.The phase dispersion is tuned successfully based on a multiresonant Lorentz model,and high reflection is guaranteed by the presence of the metallic ground.As proof of the concept,two microwave meta-devices are designed,fabricated,and experimentally characterized.An achromatic meta-mirror is proposed within 8 to 12 GHz,and another abnormal chromatic meta-mirror can tune the reflection angle as a linear function.Both meta-mirrors exhibit very high efficiencies(85%to 94%in the frequency band).Our findings open a door to realize chromatic aberration-free meta-devices with high efficiency and wideband properties and stimulate the realizations of chromatic aberration-free metadevices with other functionalities or working at higher frequency.Tong Cai Shiwei Tang Bin Zheng Guangming Wang Wenye Ji Chao Qian Zuojia Wang Erping Li Hongsheng Chena 2021Advanced Photonics2021,3,1:2
5Ferric oxide nanosheet-engineered Mg alloy for synergetic osteosarcoma photothermal/chemodynamic therapy显示文摘Osteosarcoma(OS)is a malignant tumor with a high rate of recurrence.Recently,biodegradable Mg-based implants have become a new therapeutic platform for bone-related diseases.However,poor biosafety and deficient intelligent tumor-killing ability of Mg-based implants are still the main challenges for the pre-cise treatment of OS.Herein,based on the excellent catalytic and photothermal conversion properties of nanozyme ferric oxide(Fe_(3)O_(4)),a novel two-step hydrothermal method for in situ preparation of Fe_(3)O_(4)nanosheets on the surface of plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)-treated Mg alloy using Mg-Fe layered double hydroxides(Mg-Fe LDH)as precursor was proposed.Compared with Mg alloy,there were no obvious corrosion cracks on the surface of Fe_(3)O_(4)nanosheets-coated Mg alloy(Fe_(3)O_(4)-NS)immersed in 0.9 wt.%NaCl for 14 days,which demonstrated the corrosion resistance of Mg alloy was significantly enhanced.Cytocompatibility experiments and hemolysis assay confirmed the great biocompatibility of Fe_(3)O_(4)-NS,especially,hemolysis ratio was lower than 1%.Meanwhile,Fe_(3)O_(4)-NS presented excellent cat-alytic oxidation capacity in the presence of H_(2)O_(2),and its temperature can significantly increase from 27℃to approximately 56℃under NIR irradiation.Therefore,intelligent responsive Fe_(3)O_(4)nanosheets-engineered Mg-based implants demonstrated excellent antitumor properties in vivo and in vitro due to their photothermal and chemodynamic synergetic effects.This study provides a novel approach for the preparation of Fe_(3)O_(4)coatings on the surface of Mg alloys and a new strategy for the treatment of OS.Huihui Du Dongdong Zhang Ru Xu Juning Xie Shiwei Guan Shuhan Chen Feng Peng Shi Qian Xuanyong Liu 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,7:2

9Kinetically accelerated and high-mass loaded lithium storage enabled by atomic iron embedded carbon nanofibers显示文摘Carbonaceous materials represent the dominant choice of materials for anodic lithium storage in many energy storage devices.Nevertheless,the nonpolar carbonaceous materials offer weak adsorption toward Li+that largely denies the high-rate Li+storage.Herein,the atomic Fe sites decorated carbon nanofibers(AICNFs)facilely produced by electrospinning are reported for kinetically accelerated Li+storage.Theoretical calculation reveals that the atomic Fe sites possess coordination unsaturated electronic configuration,enabling suitable bonding energy and facilitated diffusion path of Li+.As a result,the optimal structure displays a high capacitive contribution up to 95.9%at a scan rate of 2.0 mV·s^(−1).In addition,ultrahigh capacity retention of 97%is afforded after 5,000 cycles at a current density of 3 A·g^(−1).Moreover,the interlaced fiber structure enabled by electrospinning benefits structural stability and improved conductivity even at thick electrodes,thus allowing a high areal capacity of 1.76 mAh·cm−2 at a loading of 8 mg·cm−2.Because of these structure and performance merits,the lithium-ion capacitor containing the AICNF-based anode delivers a high energy density and large power density.Qian Xu Yanan Li Chenghao Wu Xitong Sun Qiang Li Huabin Zhang Le Yu Yuanyuan Pan Yujuan Wang Shiwei Guo Mengdi Zhang Han Hu Mingbo Wu 2022Nano Research2022,15,7:0
10A highly sensitive fluorescent probe for tracking intracellular zinc ions and direct imaging of prostatic tissue in mice显示文摘A highly sensitive fluorescent sensor ZnDN was designed,synthesized and used for tracking intracellular zinc ions in various living cells and direct imaging of prostatic tissue in mice.ZnDN was prepared from the heterocyclic-fused naphthalimide fluorophore,and the zinc receptor,N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylenediamine(BPEN).Upon addition of Zn2+to the solutions of ZnDN,a remarkable fluorescence enhancement was observed,which could be attributed to the photo-induced electron transfer(PET)mechanism.Since ZnDN exhibited high sensitivity toward Zn2+in phosphate buffer solution,with a limit of detection of 4.0 x 10-9 mol/L,it was further applied for the imaging of exogenous and endogenous Zn21 in different living cells.Living cells imaging experiments suggested that ZnDN could image the changes of intracellular free zinc ions,and could be used for two-photon imaging.Moreover,flow cytometry suggested that ZnDN could distinguish cancerous prostate cells from normal cells.Animal experiments indicated that ZnDN had the potential in imaging prostate tissue in vivo.Yuyu Wang Houna Duan Hongyuan Shi Shiwei Zhang Yufang Xu Weiping Zhu Xuhong Qian 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,11:0
11Tuning electrospinning hierarchically porous nanowires anode for enhanced bioelectrocatalysis in microbial fuel cells显示文摘Pore structure plays critical roles in electrode kinetics but very challenging to tailor porous nanowires with rationally distributed pore sizes in a bioelectrochemical system.Herein a hierarchically porous nanowires-material is delicately tuned for an optimal pore structure by adjusting the weight percentage of SiO_(2)-hard template in an electrospinning precursor solution.The asprepared optimal electrospinning nanowires further used as an anode of microbial fuel cells(MFCs),delivering a maximum output power density of 1,407.42 mW·m^(−2)with 4.24 and 10 times higher than that of the non-porous fiber and carbon cloth anode,respectively.The great enhancement is attributed to the rational pore structure which offers the largest surface area while the rich-mesopores well match with the size of electron mediators for a high density of catalytic centers.This work provides thoughtful insights to design of hierarchical porous electrode for high-performance MFCs and other bioelectrochemical system devices.Shiwei Qian Xiaoshuai Wu Zhuanzhuan Shi Xiaofen Li Xin Sun Yongjia Ma Wei Sun Chunxian Guo ChangMing Li 2022Nano Research2022,15,6:0

16Effect of inlet volute wrap angle on the flow field and performance of double inlet gas cyclones显示文摘In response to the divergent understanding of double inlet cyclone performance in the literature,the effect of inlet volute wrap angle on the performance and flow field of double inlet cyclone separator was studied by Computational Fluid Dynamic(CFD)method.The results showed that the inlet volute wrap angle can affect the comparison results of the single and double inlet gas cyclones with the same total inlet cross-sectional area and velocity.0°and 90°volute double inlet improved the efficiency mainly by separating particles below 10μm,while 180°volute double inlet had no separation advantage for any particles,so the symmetrical double inlet does not always improve the efficiency,and the appropriate inlet volute wrap angle should be selected according to the actual situation,otherwise,the expected performance requirements of the symmetrical double inlet cyclone cannot be achieved.Compared with the flow field,it is found that the inlet volute wrap angle changed the tangential velocity of the sym-metrical double inlet cyclone separator,thus changing the performance.Zetao Wang Guogang Sun Zhengyuan Song Shiwei Yuan Zhen Qian 2023Particuology2023,,6:0
