1Arabidopsis under ammonium over-supply: Characteristics of ammonium toxicity in relation to the activity of ammonium transporters显示文摘Because of highly intensive farming practices, crop plants could suffer relatively long terms of ammonium(NH4+) excess stress introduced by overdose application of nitrogen fertilizers. However, the lack of sufficient understanding of plant responses to NH4+excess stress impairs the detection of effective solutions to this problem. The present work examined the biological influences of over-supplied NH4+in Arabidopsis thaliana using two mutant lines each with an ammonium transporter(AMT) gene(AtAMT1;1 or AtAMT1;3) knocked out. Our results indicated that lacking one of the major components of root NH4+-absorbing systems significantly alleviated the toxicity effects on Arabidopsis plants by reducing the accumulation of free NH4+, suggesting that persistent absorption of NH4+through AMT was the main cause of excessive accumulation of free NH4+in the plants. Shading treatment led to a reduced transpirational driving force and thereby constrained the accumulation of toxic NH4+in the plants, finally resulting in higher NH4+-promoted growth in the wild type(WT). Under the shading treatment, the amt1;1 and amt1;3 mutant plants acquired insufficient NH4+and showed reduced growth when compared with the WT. Furthermore, the foliar application of sucrose notably alleviated the inhibitory effects on plant growth in the WT but had no effect on either the amt1;1 or amt1;3 mutant plants, indicating that carbon scarcity associated with NH4+excess is probably a major cause of NH4+toxicity in plants. 4A Review of Research Status and Scientific Problems of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines显示文摘With the continuous utilization of offshore wind resources,the installation depth and capacity of offshore wind turbines are increasing.In order to meet construction requirements of renewable energy,offshore wind farms are bound to develop further and deeper into the sea.As a result,a novel kind of power generation equipment,Floating Offshore Wind Turbines(FOWT),emerges as the times require.Consequently,this paper provides an objective comment on some key scientific difficulties.Firstly,The statistics and forecast of the market demand and installed capacity of offshore wind energy show a steady growth.After that,the advantages of constructing FOWT and most floating projects in various countries are summarized.And then,the reconstruction design of blades is reviewed under“Reynolds number”and“Froude number”similarity criterion,which is a prerequisite for achieving specific aerodynamic performance.So far,this paper focuses on aerodynamic researches,including aerodynamic forces and flow fields.On this basis,pitch angle control strategies are proposed to reduce aerodynamic forces on the premise of ensuring power generations.Finally,some other joint science problems to be solved are listed.Whether theoretical analysis,numerical simulations,ocean engineering basin tests,wind tunnel experiments or prototype sea measurements,FOWT is expected to break through various obstacles and finally achieve efficient and stable commercial operations.Zhen Lei Xinbao Wang Shuni Zhou Zekun Wang Tengyuan Wang Yingjian Yang 2022Energy Engineering2022,119,1:0

6Crystal structure and thermal decomposition mechanism of the supramolecular complex of barium chloride with inositol显示文摘The single crystal of [Ba(H2O)2(C6H12O6)2Cl2] was obtained based on the phase equilibrium results. Its structure was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. The crystals are monoclinic and in space group C2/c with a = 1.901 7(2) nm, b = 0.682 13(8) nm, c = 0.162 60(2) nm, β = 96.593(2)° and V = 2.095 3(4) nm3, Z = 4, DC = 1.917 g·cm-3. In its solid state, this supramolecular complex is a three-dimensional network with double layers connected by hydrogen bondings. The molecule structure of [Ba(H2O)2(C6H12O6)2Cl2] has a central barium ion that is coordinated to two water molecules, two chlorides, and four hydroxyls from the two inositols. 7INVERSE DDA OF A SYSTEM OF BLOCKS IN SPHERE COORDINATES显示文摘In accordance with the geometric equations of elastic mechanics in the sphere coordinates, the displacement equation of blocks on asphere consisting of 6 deforming parameters is developed. The formula for distance between blocks is derived under the supposition that all block boundaries are prime arcs. The kinematic constraint and the penalty function for reasonable contact between blocks are developed. The normal equations and their coefficient matrix, based on the Least Squares Principle, are derived. 8Galectin-7 overexpression destroys airway epithelial barrier in transgenic mice显示文摘When the integrity of airway epithelium is destroyed,the ordered airway barrier no longer exists and increases sensitivity to viral infections and allergens,leading to the occurrence of airway inflammation such as asthma.Here,we found that galectin-7 transgenic(+)mice exhibited abnormal airway structures as embryos and after birth.These abnormalities included absent or substantially reduced pseudostratified columnar ciliated epithelium and increased monolayer cells with irregular arrangement and widening of intercellular spaces.Moreover,airway tissue from galectin-7 transgenic(+)mice showed evidence of impaired cell–cell junctions and decreased expression of zonula occludens-1(ZO-1)and E-cadherin.When treated with respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)or ovalbumin(OVA),galectin-7 transgenic(+)mice developed substantially increased bronchial epithelial detachment and apoptosis,airway smooth muscle and basement membrane thickening,and enhanced airway responsiveness.We found that Galectin-7 localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus of bronchial epithelial cells,and that increased apoptosis was mediated through mitochondrial release of cytochrome c and upregulated JNK1 activation and expression of caspase-3 in galectin-7 Tg(+)mice.These findings suggested that Galectin-7 causes airway structural defects and destroys airway epithelium barrier,which predispose the airways to RSV or OVA-induced epithelial apoptosis,injury,and other asthma responses.Jing TIAN Ruxuan HE Yimu FAN Qianqian ZHANG Baolin TIAN Chunju ZHOU Chunyan LIU Mingjing SONG Shunying ZHAO 2021Integrative Zoology2021,16,2:0
