| 1 | Nab-paclitaxel(abraxane)-based chemotherapy to treat elderly patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer:a single center,randomized and open-label clinical trial显示文摘Background:The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of abraxane-based chemotherapy with/without nedaplatin in elderly patients with non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Materials and methods:From October 2009 to January 2013,48 elderly patients(>65 years) with NSCLC were investigated in this clinical trial.The patients were randomized and equally allocated into arms A and AP:(A) abraxane(130 mg/m^2,days 1,8);(B) abraxane + nedaplatin(20 mg/m^2 days 1-3,q3w).The parameters of objective response rate(ORR),disease control rate(DCR),progression-free survival(PFS),overall survival(OS) and side effects were evaluated between two arms.Results:Over 80%of the patients completed four cycles of chemotherapy.The total ORR was 21.3%,DCR was 55.3%,PFS 4.5 months and OS 12.6 months.No significant difference was found between arms A and AP in terms of ORR(16.7%vs.26.1%,P=0.665) or DCR(55.3%vs.56.5%,P=0.871).The median PFS in arm A was 3.3 months[25-75%confidence interval(CI):3.1-7.2]and 5.5 months(25-75%CI:3.2-7.0) in arm AP with no statistical significance(P=0.640).The median OS in arm A was 12.6 months(25-75%CI:5.7-26.2) and 15.1 months(25-75%CI:6.4-35.3) in arm AP with no statistical significance(P=0.770).The side effects were mainly grade 1-2.The incidence of grade 3-4 toxicities was 29.1%in arm A and 62.5%in arm AP with a statistical significance(P=0.020).Conclusions:Compared with combined therapy,abraxane alone chemotherapy was beneficial for elderly NSCLC patients with better tolerability and less adverse events,whereas did not significantly differ in terms of ORR,DCR,PFS or OS. | Hanrui Chen Xuewu Huang Shutang Wang Xinting Zheng Jietao Lin Peng Li Lizhu Lin | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,2: | 12 |

Two cases are then considered. In one case. a theoretical expression of sediment concentration is derived for flow in the neighborhood of a tidal bore moving in an otherwise gradually and slowly varied flow in a rectangular channel of negligible resistance. In the other case. numerical computations are carried out on the four of the four bole equations for a reach of natural river. | 3 | An Arabidopsis thaliana (Ler) inbred line AFDL exhibiting abnormal flower development mainly caused by reduced AP1 expression显示文摘The genetic network controlling flowering and flower development consists of a set of floral integrator genes that play a role in light sensing,hormone signaling and developmental pathways.These integrators activate the expression of meristem identity genes LEAFY (LFY) and APETALA1 (AP1) to initiate the flowering transition.However,how the expression of key genes,such as AP1,responds to diverse signals during flower development remains largely unknown.Here,we report that an Arabidopsis abnormal flower development inbred line (AFDL) exhibits a phenotype similar to the ap1 mutant,with delayed flowering time and a high frequency of transition of flower meristems into inflorescence meristems after flowering.The flower organs with an abnormal first whorl lack the second whorl and the increased number of inflorescences at the first-and second-whorl positions most closely resembled the phenotypes of ap1/cal double mutants.Interestingly,both normal and abnormal flowers coexisted in a single individual.Microarray and quantitative real-time PCR analysis revealed that the expression of AP1 was significantly reduced,while the expression of its interacting genes TERMINAL FLOWER 1 (TFL1),SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE (SVP),AGAMOUS-like 24 (AGL24),SEPALLATA (SEP) and CAULIFLOWER (CAL) and upstream genes FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) and FLM were increased in AFDL,which could serve to explain its phenotype.The expression of genes responsive to different stimuli dramatically changed in AFDL relative to the wild type,as revealed by the differential display of transcripts,indicating that this expression variation is subject to a threshold,leading to an on/off expression pattern of the master regulatory gene (such as AP1) of flower development. | QI XiaoLi JIANG Yao TANG Fang WANG MinJie HU JianJun ZHAO ShuTang SHA Wei LU MengZhu | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,1: | 4 |
| 4 | А Novel AP Placement Algorithm Based on User Distribution for Indoor WLAN System显示文摘AP deployment is significant for indoor WLAN system to achieve seamless coverage. The available algorithms do not take user distribution into consideration so that poor user coverage and imbalanced network load occur. Therefore, this paper proposed a novel AP placement algorithm to bridge the AP deployment with user distribution. The proposed algorithm employs statistics theory to model the user distribution as its location and probability. Then we obtain the AP location based on the fuzzy C-clustering algorithm. The proposed algorithm is practical for implementation, which means the actual signal transmission isn't required in our proposed method. The disturbances are generated from an unknown exosystem, and are assumed to be sinusoidal disturbances with unknown amplitude and frequency. By using the technique of backstepping and adaptive control, a nonlinear state feedback controller is designed. Under the proposed controller, the system’s state variables asymptotically converge to zero, and the disturbances are rejected completely. | 8 | Transcriptional and temporal response of Populus stems to gravi-stimulation显示文摘Plants modify development in response to external stimuli, to produce new growth that is appropriate for environmental conditions. For example, gravistimulation of leaning branches in angiosperm trees results in modifications of wood development, to produce tension wood that pulls leaning stems upright. Here, we use gravistimulation and tension wood response to dissect the temporal changes in gene expression underlying wood formation in Populus stems. Using time-series analysis of seven time points over a 14-d experiment, we identified8,919 genes that were differentially expressed between tension wood(upper) and opposite wood(lower) sides of leaning stems. Clustering of differentially expressed genes showed four major transcriptional responses, including gene clusters whose transcript levels were associated with Higtwo types of tissue-specific impulse responses that peaked at about 24–48 h, and gene clusters with sustained changes in transcript levels that persisted until the end of the 14-d experiment. Functional enrichment analysis of those clusters suggests they reflect temporal changes in pathways associated with hormone regulation, protein localization, cell wall biosynthesis and epigenetic processes. | 9 | Identification of G protein-coupled receptors required for vitellogenesis and egg development in an insect with panoistic ovary显示文摘G protein-coupled receptors(GPCRs),a superfamily of integral transmembrane proteins regulate a variety of physiological processes in insects.Juvenile hormone(JH)is known to stimulate Vitellogenin(Vg)synthesis in the fat body,secretion into the hemolymph and uptake by developing oocytes.However,the role of GPCRs in JH-dependent insect vitellogenesis and oocyte maturation remains elusive.In the present study,we performed transcriptomic analysis and RNA interference(RNAi)screening in vitellogenic females of the migratory locust Locusta migratoria.Of 22 GPCRs identified in ovarian transcriptome,LGR4,OR-A1,OR-A2,Mthl1,Mthl5 and Smo were most abundant in the ovary.By comparison,mAChR-C expressed at higher levels in the fat body,whereas Oct/TyrR,OARβ,AdoR and ADGRA3 were at higher expression levels in the brain.Our RNAi screening demonstrated that knockdown of six GPCRs resulted in defective phenotypes of Vg accumulation in developing oocytes,accompanied by blocked ovarian development and impaired oocyte maturation.While LGR4 and Oct/TyrR appeared to control Vg synthesis in the fat body,OR-A1,OR-A2,mAChR-C and CirlL regulated Vg transportation and uptake.The findings provide fundamental evidence for deciphering the regulatory mechanisms of GPCRs in JH-stimulated insect reproduction. | Hongyuan Zheng Baojuan Zeng Tiantian Shang Shutang Zhou | 2021 | Insect Science2021,28,4: | 2 |
