| 1 | Psychometrics of the chronic liver disease questionnaire for Southern Chinese patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection显示文摘AIM:To test the psychometric properties of a Chinese [(Hong Kong) HK] translation of the chronic liver disease questionnaire (CLDQ).METHODS:A Chinese (HK) translation of the CLDQ was developed by iterative translation and cognitive debriefing.It was then administered to 72 uncomplicated and 78 complicated chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients in Hong Kong together with a structured questionnaire on service utilization,and the Chinese (HK) SF-36 Health Survey Version 2 (SF-36v2).RESULTS:Scaling success was ≥ 80% for all but three items.A new factor assessing sleep was found and items of two (Fatigue and Systemic Symptoms) subscales tended to load on the same factor.Internal consistency and test-retest reliabilities ranged from 0.58-0.90 for different subscales.Construct validity was confirmed by the expected correlations between the SF-36v2 Health Survey and CLDQ scores.Mean scores of CLDQ were significantly lower in complicated compared with uncomplicated CHB,supporting sensitivity in detecting differences between groups.CONCLUSION:The Chinese (HK) CLDQ is valid,reliable and sensitive for patients with CHB.Some modif ications to the scaling structure might further improve its psychometric properties. | Elegance Ting Pui Lam Cindy Lo Kuen Lam Ching Lung Lai Man Fung Yuen Daniel Yee Tak Fong | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009，15，26： | 16 |
| 2 | A cross-sectional study on compliance with topical glaucoma medication and its associated socioeconomic burden for a Chinese population显示文摘AIM: To estimate the overall drug compliance for local Chinese glaucoma patients on long-term topical treatment.METHODS: This was a retrospective cross-sectional study.Fifty-seven primary glaucoma patients from the subspecialty clinic of a publicly-funded tertiary care hospital in Hong Kong completed a questionnaire on compliance with topical glaucoma medication,attitude towards glaucoma and therapy and vision related quality of life.Noncompliance was defined as reporting missing more than or equal to 10% of the prescribed topical glaucoma medication during the 2wk immediately prior to the consultation.Relationships between noncompliance and demographics,attitude,disease and treatment status was studied.Cost was estimated with quality of life and direct medical cost involved with noncompliance.Multivariable logistic regression on noncompliance was performed on selected factors.RESULTS: Compliance was calculated as 75%(95% CI: 64%-87%) among 57 subjects(mean age 69 y,female 51%).No statistical significant relationship was established between noncompliance and any single factors or outcomes.Age(P=0.048) and forgetfulness(P=0.064) were found to be marginally significant predictive factors on noncompliance in multivariable logistic regression.Noncompliance might be related(P=0.130) to poorer self-rated vision-associated quality of life.The societal cost of noncompliance was estimated to be over 2510 life-years and US$ 3.7 million territory-wide.CONCLUSION: The compliance of Chinese glaucoma patients in Hong Kong is comparable to other parts in the world,and carries detrimental impacts on individual and societal levels.Age and forgetfulness are two possible independent predictors for noncompliance. | Man-Hin Lui Jason Chun Ho Lam Yi Lee Kwong Tak Siu Wong Pak Long Cheung Sherri Shun Yan Lai Pak Lun Yuen Wai Yiu Lam Ho Yan Chan Yiu Fai Wong Jimmy Shiu Ming Lai Kendrick Co Shih | 2017 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2017，10，2： | 5 |

| 18 | Mothers’ health-related quality of life: Its relationship with children’s health-related quality of life and behavior in low-income families显示文摘Objective:To examine the association between mothers’health-related quality of life(HRQOL)and their children’s HRQOL and behavior in low-income families.Methods:Mothers of 278 children aged 6-12 years from low-income families were invited to complete the Child Health Questionnaire Parent Form 50(CHQ-PF50)and the Strength and Dif-ficulties Questionnaire(SDQ)for their children as well as the 12-item Short-Form Health Survey version 2(SF-12v2)and the Patient Health Questionnaire-2(PHQ-2).Multiple linear regressions with mother-child pairs as the unit of analysis were performed to examine the associations between maternal and child variables with adjustment of mother-and child-level confounders.Results:Compared with the general population,low-income mothers had a lower mean SF-12v2 mental component summary score and their children also had lower mean CHQ-PF50 physi-cal and psychosocial summary scores and SDQ total difficulties score.Children of mothers with SF-12v2 scores below the population mean of 50 had significantly worse CHQ-PF50 scores and higher SDQ total difficulties scores.The mother’s PHQ-2 depression status had no association with the child’s CHQ-PF50 scores.Conclusion:Our findings suggest that more attention should be paid to reducing the negative impact of health problems on mothers’daily roles in childcare in low-income families. | Rosa Sze Man Wong Vivian Yawei Guo Patrick Ip Carlos King Ho Wong Esther Yee Tak Yu Colman Siu Cheung Fung Cindy Lo Kuen Lam | 2016 | Family Medicine and Community Health2016，4，4： | 0 |
