1Antimony speciation in the environment:Recent advances in understanding the biogeochemical processes and ecological effects显示文摘Antimony(Sb) is a toxic metalloid, and its pollution has become a global environmental problem as a result of its extensive use and corresponding Sb-mining activities. The toxicity and mobility of Sb strongly depend on its chemical speciation. In this review, we summarize the current knowledge on the biogeochemical processes(including emission, distribution,speciation, redox, metabolism and toxicity) that trigger the mobilization and transformation of Sb from pollution sources to the surrounding environment. Natural phenomena such as weathering, biological activity and volcanic activity, together with anthropogenic inputs, are responsible for the emission of Sb into the environment. Sb emitted in the environment can adsorb and undergo redox reactions on organic or inorganic environmental media, thus changing its existing form and exerting toxic effects on the ecosystem. 2Correlation of burial organic carbon and paleoproductivity in the Mesoproterozoic Hongshuizhuang Formation, northern North China显示文摘In general, total organic carbon (TOC) is directly used as a proxy for paleoproductivity, however, it is not only affected by paleoproductivity, but also controlled by redox conditions and terrigenous detrital matter influx. Major and trace elements were analysed with the purpose of investigating the redox potential and paleoproductivity during deposition of the Hongshuizhuang Formation. In the present study, C-S relationship, V/Cr ratio and Mo concentration indicate that the dolomites were deposited in oxic environments, however, most of the black shales were accumulated in euxinic environments. P/Ti values in the Hongshuizhuang samples can be compared with those in the Japanese Ubara Permian-Triassic section which were regarded to be deposited under a moderate to high paleoproductivity. Ba/Al values are slightly lower than that of the laminated sediments from the continental margins of Central California (CCAL) which were thought to be accumulated under a high paleoproductivity. These results indicate that the paleoproductivity was moderate to high during deposition of the Hongshuizhuang Formation. Burial organic carbon shows positive correlations with V/Cr and Mo, but shows only weakly or no correlation with P/Ti and Ba/Al, respectively, suggesting that although the paleoproductivity was moderate to high during deposition of the Hongshuizhuang Formation, its organic-rich sediments were predominantly controlled by redox conditions and had no direct relationship with paleoproductivity.LUO QingYong ZHONG NingNing ZHU Lei WANG YanNian QIN Jing QI Lin ZHANG Yi MA Yong 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,11:17
3Design and experiment on intelligent fuzzy monitoring system for corn planters显示文摘When sowing summer corn without tillage,it is necessary to ensure that the furrow opener is free from straw congestion and that the spacing of the sowing can be adjusted according to the breeds of corn and the preset seeding rate per acre.On the basis of the structural features of newly developed no-tillage corn fertilizers,an intelligent fuzzy monitoring system for corn planters was developed in this study.The system facilitates automatic control of the spacing adjustment and the status monitor for the fertilizer tank,seed tank,and seeding orifice.According to the preset number of rows,line spacing,number of plants per acre,and seed germination rate,the control rate can be calculated through designing in surveillance software.The control rate is output to the fuzzy controller through the digital output module of the CAN bus.Fuzzy control is applied to the DC motor for stepless adjustment of the spacing.A system for video surveillance of the working status of a planter is developed for displaying a real-time video image of the planter operation and achieving an anti-congestion status monitoring of a no-tillage planting operation in a dusty environment.Through field trials,the detection accuracy was 91.4%.The seed-clogging fault-alarm accuracy was 96.0%.The entire system remained stable and reliable.Du Ruicheng Gong Bingcai Liu Ningning Wang Chenchen Yang Zidong Ma Mingjian 2013International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2013,6,3:16

5Effects of Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation products on performance and rumen fermentation and microbiota in dairy cows fed a diet containing low quality forage显示文摘Background: A possible option to meet the increased demand of forage for dairy industry is to use the agricultural byproducts, such as corn stover. However, nutritional value of crop residues is low and we have been seeking technologies to improve the value. A feeding trial was performed to evaluate the effects of four levels of Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation product(SCFP; Original XP; Diamond V) on lactation performance and rumen fermentation in mid-lactation Holstein dairy cows fed a diet containing low-quality forage. Eighty dairy cows were randomly assigned into one of four treatments: basal diet supplemented with 0, 60, 120, or 180 g/d of SCFP per head mixed with 180, 120, 60, or 0 g of corn meal, respectively. The experiment lasted for 10 wks, with the first 2 weeks for adaptation.Results: Dry matter intake was found to be similar(P > 0.05) among the treatments. There was an increasing trend in milk production(linear, P ≤ 0.10) with the increasing level of SCFP supplementation, with no effects on contents of milk components(P > 0.05). Supplementation of SCFP linearly increased(P < 0.05) the N conversion, without affecting rumen pH and ammonia-N(P > 0.05). Increasing level of SCFP linearly increased(P < 0.05) concentrations of ruminal total volatile fatty acids, acetate, propionate, and butyrate, with no difference in molar proportion of individual acids(P > 0.05). The population of fungi and certain cel ulolytic bacteria(Ruminococcus albus, R. flavefaciens and Fibrobacter succinogenes)increased linearly(P < 0.05) but those of lactate-utilizing(Selenomonas ruminantium and Megasphaera elsdeni) and lactate-producing bacteria(Streptococcus bovis) decreased linearly(P ≤ 0.01) with increasing level of SCFP. The urinary purine derivatives increased linearly(P < 0.05) in response to SCFP supplementation, indicating that SCFP supplementation may benefit for microbial protein synthesis in the rumen.Conclusions: The SCFP supplementation was effective in maintaining milk persistency of mid-lactation cows receiving diets containing low-quality forage. The beneficial effect of SCFP could be attributed to improved rumen function; 1)microbial population shift toward greater rumen fermentation efficiency indicated by higher rumen fungi and cel ulolytic bacteria and lower lactate producing bacteria, and 2) rumen microbial fermentation toward greater supply of energy and protein indicated by greater ruminal VFA concentration and increased N conversion. 6Combined obeticholic acid and apoptosis inhibitor treatment alleviates liver fibrosis显示文摘Obeticholic acid(OCA), the first FXR-targeting drug, has been claimed effective in the therapy of liver fibrosis. However, recent clinical trials indicated that OCA might not be effective against liver fibrosis, possibly due to the lower dosage to reduce the incidence of the side-effect of pruritus. Here we propose a combinatory therapeutic strategy of OCA and apoptosis inhibitor for combating against liver fibrosis. CCl4-injured mice, D-galactosamine/LPS(GalN/LPS)-treated mice and cycloheximide/TNFα(CHX/TNFα)-treated HepG2 cells were employed to assess the effects of OCA, or together with IDN-6556, an apoptosis inhibitor. OCA treatment significantly inhibited hepatic stellate cell(HSC)activation/proliferation and prevented fibrosis. Elevated bile acid(BA) levels and hepatocyte apoptosis triggered the activation and proliferation of HSCs. OCA treatment reduced BA levels but could not inhibit hepatocellular apoptosis. An enhanced anti-fibrotic effect was observed when OCA was co-administrated with IDN-6556. Our study demonstrated that OCA inhibits HSCs activation/proliferation partially by regulating BA homeostasis and thereby inhibiting activation of HSCs. 7Graft-accelerated virus-induced gene silencing facilitates functional genomics in rose flowers显示文摘Rose has emerged as a model ornamental plant for studies of flower development, senescence, and morphology, as well as the metabolism of floral fragrances and colors.Virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS) has long been used in functional genomics studies of rose by vacuum infiltration of cuttings or seedlings with an Agrobacterium suspension carrying TRV-derived vectors. However, VIGS in rose flowers remains a challenge because of its low efficiency and long time to establish silencing. Here we present a novel and rapid VIGS method that can be used to analyze gene function in rose,called ‘graft-accelerated VIGS', where axil ary sprouts are cut from the rose plant and vacuum infiltrated with Agrobacterium. The inoculated scions are then grafted back onto the plants to flower and silencing phenotypes can be observed within 5 weeks, post-infiltration. Using this new method, we successfully silenced expression of the RhDFR_1, RhA G, and RhNUDX_1 in rose flowers, and affected their color, petal number, as well as fragrance, respectively. This grafting method will facilitate high-throughput functional analysis of genes in rose flowers. 8Cell multiplication, apoptosis and p-Akt protein expression of bone mesenchymal stem cells of rat under hypoxia environment显示文摘Objective: To elucidate whether cell multiplication, apoptosis, glucose intake and p-Akt protein expression of bone Mesenchy-mal Stem Cells(MSCs) of rats is influenced by a hypoxic environment ex vivo. Methods: Passage 3 of bone marrow MSCs takenfrom Wistar rats, were cultured in a culturing chamber with 94%N2, 1%O2, 5%CO2 at 37℃. At different hypoxia time points, 0, 0.5,1, 4 and 8 h, glucose uptake was assayed by using radiation isotope 3H-G, Apoptotic Rate(AR) and dead rate(DR) were analyzedby flow cytometry(FCM) after Annexin V/PI staining, cell multiplication(by MTT methods) and p-Akt protein by immunocyto-chemistry and western blot. Results: Assay for CD29+, CD44+, CD71+, CD34- , Tn T+(after 5-azacytidine agent inducing) andALP+(after bone differentiation agent inducing) suggested these bone-derived cells were MSCs. The 3H-G intaking ratio(CPM/flask value: 157 ±11, 110 ±11, 107 ±13, 103 ±10, 100 ±9 and 98 ±10) of MSCs at different hypoxia time points, significantlydecreased compared to that of normoxia(P < 0.01) and tended to descend slowly with hypoxia time duration, for which there wasno statistical significance(P > 0.05). The AR(0.09 ±2.03%, 12.9 ±1.72%, 13.7 ±2.26%, 13.8 ±3.01%, 14.1 ±2.78% and 14.7 ±4.01% at 0, 0.5, 1, 4 and 8 h, respectively, P < 0.01) and DR (0.04 ±1.79%, 0.93 ±1.85%, 3.11 ±2.14%, 4.09 ±2.36%, 4.72 ±2.05% and 4.91 ±3.72% at 0, 0.5, 1, 4 and 8 h, respectively, P < 0.05) at different hypoxia time points significantly increasedcompared to those time in normoxia; The AR further went up with time (P < 0.05), however there was no statistical significance(P > 0.05) for the DR. Optical absorption value of MTT methods at different hypoxia time points significantly decreased com-pared to those with a corresponding normoxia time (P < 0.01) and degraded with time (in an hypoxic environment - P < 0.01).IOD of p-Akt protein of MSCs at different hypoxia time points significantly increased (0.367 ±0.031, 0.556 ±0.023, 0.579 ±0.013, 0.660 ±0.024, 0.685 ±0.039 and 0.685 ±0.011, respectively) compared to their equivalents in normoxia (P<0.05), how-ever, there was no statistical significance (P > 0.05) for different hypoxia time points. Hypoxia may result in ultramicrostructurechanges, such as defluvium of Microvilli, apoptotic body, 'margination'and so on and are further aggravated with hypoxia timestretching. 9Studies on the overexpression of the soybean GmNHX1 in Lotus corniculatus: The reduced Na^+ level is the basis of the increased salt tolerance显示文摘The full length cDNA coding for a novel vacuolar Na+/H+ antiporter (GmNHX1) was cloned from soybean and determined to consist of 2591 bp with a 5′-untranslated region of 464 bp, an open reading frame (ORF) of 1641 bp, and a 3′-untrans- lated region of 486 bp. The deduced protein se- quence contains 546 aa with the typical characters of the vacuolar Na+/H+ antiporters, and shares high similarity with that of AtNHX1, OsNHX1 and AgNHX1. The soybean genome showed a single copy of the GmNHX1 gene. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that the expression of the GmNHX1 was tissue-spe- cific, increased by ABA treatment, NaCl, KCl, LiCl and dehydration stress, and lower in leaves but higher in roots and hypocotyls of salt-tolerant than salt-sensitive cultivars. The GmNHX1 was overex- pressed under the control of a tandem cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) 35S promoter in the model le- guminous plant Lotus corniculatus L. and conferred salt-tolerance of the transgenic plants. 10NEAT1/miR-140-3p/MAPK1 mediates the viability and survival of coronary endothelial cells and affects coronary atherosclerotic heart disease显示文摘Studies have shown that long non-coding RNAs(lncRNA)play critical roles in coronary atherosclerotic heart disease(CAD).However,the function of lncRNA nuclear enriched abundant transcript 1(NEAT1)in CAD is unclear.In this study,we aimed to investigate the functions of lncRNA NEAT1 in CAD.RTPCR and western blot analysis were carried out to examine the expressions of related RNAs.Colony formation assay,cell proliferation assay,apoptosis assay,and dual-luc讦erase reporter assay were con ducted to investigate the abilities of colony migration,cell proliferatio n,apoptosis,and targeting.The results showed that NEAT1 was up-regulated in CAD blood samples and in human coronary endothelial cells(HCAECs).Transfection of pcNEATI sign讦icantly inhibited the survival rate of HCAECs and induced apoptosis of HCAECs.MiR-140-3p was down-regulated in HCAECs.NEAT1 directly targeted miR-140-3p,and the expression of miR-140-3p was inversely correlated with the expression of NEAT1 in CAD patients.In addition,co-transfection of NEAT1 with miR-140-3p mimic reversed the effect of pcNEATI on cell viability and apoptosis,mitogenactivated protein kinase 1(MAPK1)was proved to be a target gene of miR-140-3p,and the miR-140-3p mimic was shown to reduce the expression of MAPK1 in HCAECs.pcNEATI sigrdficantly increased the expression level of MAPK1,while shNEATI significantly reduced the expression level of MAPK1.Our results revealed that lncRNA NEAT1 increased cell viability and inhibited CAD cell apoptosis possibly by activating the miR-140-3p/MAPK1 pathway,and lncRNA NEAT1 might serve as a potential therapeutic target for CAD.Hui Zhang Ningning Ji Xinyan Gong Shimao Ni Yu Wang 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,9:9
11Effects of AMF on soil enzyme activity and carbon sequestration capacity in reclaimed mine soil显示文摘A series of pot experiments and field trials were carried out to evaluate the effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF) on activities of soil enzymes and carbon sequestration capacity in reclaimed mine soil.A complex substrate of coal gangue,fly ash and sludge was used as reclaimed mine soil,and ryegrass was planted with AMF inoculation to construct a plant-complex substrate-microbe ecological restoration system.The changes to the soil organic carbon(SOC),activities of soil enzymes and glomalin-related soil protein(GRSP) were measured and the effects of AMF on activities of soil enzymes and carbon sequestration capacity in reclaimed mine soil were analyzed.The results show that the contents of GRSP(total glomalin(TG) and easily extractable glomalin(EEG)),SOC and activities of enzymes increased,and the increments were higher in the AMF inoculation treated plant-complex substrate-microbe ecological restoration systems than those with no AMF inoculated treatments after 12 months of ryegrass growth.TG,EEG and soil enzyme activity have a significant positive correlation,and the correlative coefficient was 0.427-0.573;SOC and TG,EEG have a significant positive correlation(p < 0.01),indicating that AMF plays an important role in carbon sequestration of reclaimed mine soils.Qian Kuimei Wang Liping Yin Ningning 2012International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,4:9
12Inheritance of Perpetual Blooming in Rosa chinensis ‘Old Blush'显示文摘Perpetual blooming is one of the most important biological and economical traits in modern rose, while the genetic basis underlining the control of this trait is poorly investigated. With an aim in dissecting the genetic determinism of perpetual blooming, we developed six rose populations(OB, W, F1, F2, BC1 OB and BC1W) derived from a WOB population [interspecific diploid hybridization between Rosa chinensis ‘Old Blush'(OB) and R. wichuriana ‘Basye's Thornless'(W)]. Perpetual blooming is absent both in a F1 population with 296 individuals and a BC1 W population(W as the backcross parent) with 150 individuals. However, the perpetual blooming trait showed a typical 3︰1 segregation in a backcross population BC1 OB with OB as the backcross parent. In this population with 300 individuals, 83 plants had the perpetual blooming phenotype while the other 217 featured non-perpetual blooming, indicating that the perpetual blooming trait is very likely controlled by two recessive genes in R. chinensis(rpb1 and rpb2). 13Hydraulic support crushed mechanism for the shallow seam mining face under the roadway pillars of room mining goaf显示文摘While the fully-mechanized longwall mining technology was employed in a shallow seam under a room mining goaf and overlained by thin bedrock and thick loose sands, the roadway pillars in the abandoned room mining goaf were in a stress-concentrated state, which may cause abnormal roof weighting, violent ground pressure behaviours, even roof fall and hydraulic support crushed(HSC) accidents. In this case,longwall mining safety and efficiency were seriously challenged. Based on the HSC accidents occurred during the longwall mining of 3-1-2 seam, which locates under the intersection zone of roadway pillars in the room mining goaf of 3-1-1 seam, this paper employed ground rock mechanics to analyse the overlying strata structure movement rules and presented the main influence factors and determination methods for the hydraulic support working resistance. The FLAC3 D software was used to simulate the overlying strata stress and plastic zone distribution characteristics. Field observation was implemented to contrastively analyse the hydraulic support working resistance distribution rules under the roadway pillars in strike direction, normal room mining goaf, roadway pillars in dip direction and intersection zone of roadway pillars. The results indicate that the key strata break along with rotations and reactions of the coal pillars deliver a larger concentrated load to the hydraulic support under intersection zone of roadway pillars than other conditions. The ‘‘overburden strata-key strata-roadway pillars-immediate roof' integrated load has exceeded the yield load that leads to HSC accidents. 14MIKC^(C)-type MADS-box genes in Rosa chinensis: the remarkable expansion of ABCDE model genes and their roles in floral organogenesis显示文摘MIKC^(C)-type MADS-box(MIKC^(C))genes encode transcription factors that have crucial roles in controlling floral organogenesis and flowering time in plants.Although this gene family has been well characterized in many plant species,its evolutionary and comprehensive functional analysis in rose is lacking.In this study,58 non-redundant MIKC^(C)uni-transcripts were extensively identified from rose transcriptomes.Phylogenetic analysis placed these genes into 12 clades with their Arabidopsis and strawberry counterparts,and revealed that ABCDE model(including AP1/FUL,AP3/PI,AG,and SEP clades),and SOC1 and AGL6 clade genes have remarkably expanded in Rosa chinensis,whereas genes from the FLC and AGL17 clades were undetectable.Sequence alignments suggest that the AP3/PI clade may contribute to more specific functions in rose due to a high variation of amino acid residues within its MADS-box domains.A comparative analysis of gene expression in specific floral organ differentiation stages and floral organs between R.chinensis cv.Old Blush and the closely related mutant genotype R.chinensis cv.Viridiflora(floral organs mutated into leaf-like structures)further revealed the roles of ABCDE model genes during floral organogenesis in rose.Analysis of co-expression networks provided an overview of the regulatory mechanisms of rose MIKC^(C)genes and shed light on both the prominent roles of AP3/PI clade genes in floral organogenesis and the roles of RcAGL19,RcAGL24,and RcSOC1 in regulating floral transition in rose.Our analyses provide an overall insight of MIKC^(C)genes in rose and their potential roles in floral organogenesis.Jinyi Liu Xiaodong Fu Yuwei Dong Jun Lu Min Ren Ningning Zhou Changquan Wang 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:7
15Q-switching of waveguide lasers based on graphene/WS_2 van der Waals heterostructure显示文摘We report on the operation of passively Q-switched waveguide lasers at 1 μm wavelength based on a graphene∕WS_2 heterostructure as a saturable absorber(SA). The gain medium is a crystalline Nd:YVO_4 cladding waveguide produced by femtosecond laser writing. The nanosecond waveguide laser operation at 1064 nm has been realized with the maximum average output power of 275 m W and slope efficiency of 37%. 18Large-area high quality PtSe2 thin film with versatile polarity显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)materials have attracted increasing attention for their outstanding structural and electrical properties.However,for mass-production of field effect transistors(FETs)and potential applications in integrated circuits,large-area and uniform 2D thin films with high mobility,large on-off ratio,and desired polarity are needed to synthesize firstly.Here,a transfer-free growth method for platinum diselenide(PtSe2)films has been developed.The PtSe2 films have been synthesized with various thicknesses in centimeter-sized scale.Typical FET made from a few layer PtSe2 show p-type unipolar,with a high field-effect hole mobility of 6.2 cm^(2) V^(−1) s^(−1) and an on-off ratio of 5×10^(3).The versatile semimetal-unipolar-ambipolar transition in synthesized PtSe2 films is also firstly observed as the thickness thinning.This work realizes the large-scale preparation of PtSe2 with prominent electrical properties and provides a new strategy for polarity's modulation.Wei Jiang Xudong Wang Yan Chen Guangjian Wu Kun Ba Ningning Xuan Yangye Sun Peng Gong Jingxian Bao Hong Shen Tie Lin Xiangjian Meng Jianlu Wang Zhengzong Sun 2019InfoMat2019,1,2:5

20Hybrid speciation via inheritance of alternate alleles of parental isolating genes显示文摘It is increasingly realized that homoploid hybrid speciation(HHS),which involves no change in chromosome number,is an important mechanism of speciation.HHS will likely increase in frequency as ecological and geographical barriers between species are continuing to be disrupted by human activities.HHS requires the establishment of reproductive isolation between a hybrid and its parents,but the underlying genes and genetic mechanisms remain largely unknown.In this study,we reveal by integrated approaches that reproductive isolation originates in one homoploid hybrid plant species through the inheritance of altemate alleles at genes that determine parental premating isolation.The parent species of this hybrid species are reproductively isolated by differences in flowering time and survivorship on soils containing high concentrations of iron.We found that the hybrid species inherits alleles of parental isolating major genes related to flowering time from one parent and alleles of major genes related to iron tolerance from the other parent.In this way,it became reproductively isolated from one parent by the difference in flowering time and from the other by habitat adaptation(iron tolerance).These findings and further modeling results suggest that HHS may occur relatively easily via the inheritance of alternate parental premating isolating genes and barriers.Zefu Wang Yuanzhong Jiang Hao Bi Zhiqiang Lu Yazhen Ma Xiaoyue Yang Ningning Chen Bin Tian Bingbing Liu Xingxing Mao Tao Ma Stephen P.DiFazio Quanjun Hu Richard J.Abbott Jianquan Liu 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,2:4
