3Exosome-functionalized polyetheretherketone-based implant with immunomodulatory property for enhancing osseointegration显示文摘The host immune response effecting on biomaterials is critical to determine implant fates and bone regeneration property.Bone marrow stem cells(BMSCs)derived exosomes(Exos)contain multiple biosignal molecules and have been demonstrated to exhibit immunomodulatory functions.Herein,we develop a BMSC-derived Exos-functionalized implant to accelerate bone integration by immunoregulation.BMSC-derived Exos were reversibly incorporated on tannic acid(TA)modified sulfonated polyetheretherketone(SPEEK)via the strong interaction of TA with biomacromolecules.The slowly released Exos from SPEEK can be phagocytosed by co-cultured cells,which could efficiently improve the biocompatibilities of SPEEK.In vitro results showed the Exos loaded SPEEK promoted macrophage M2 polarization via the NF-κB pathway to enhance BMSCs osteogenic differentiation.Further in vivo rat air-pouch model and rat femoral drilling model assessment of Exos loaded SPEEK revealed efficient macrophage M2 polarization,desirable new bone formation,and satisfactory osseointegration.Thus,BMSC-derived Exos-functionalized implant exerted osteoimmunomodulation effect to promote osteogenesis.Lei Fan Pengfei Guan Cairong Xiao Huiquan Wen Qiyou Wang Can Liu Yian Luo Limin Ma Guoxin Tan Peng Yu Lei Zhou Chengyun Ning 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,9:11

5Highly efficient Cu/anatase TiO2 {001}-nanosheets catalysts for methanol synthesis from CO2显示文摘Anatase TiO_2 nanosheets(-ns-) with dominant exposed {001} facets were used as support to load copper,and the synthesized Cu/TiO_2-ns catalysts were evaluated for CO_2 hydrogenation to methanol. Under the reaction conditions, P = 3.0 MPa, T = 260 ℃, V(N_2):V(H_2):V(CO_2) = 8:69:23 and gas hourly space velocity(GHSV) = 3600 mL g^(-1)h^(-1), the methanol yield reached an appealing high value, 5.6%. Copper-loading amount, calcination temperature and reduction atmosphere have been investigated in this work, which significantly influence the particle sizes of copper and/or the defect concentration in TiO_2, then leading to different catalytic performance. Characterizations of XRD, EPR, CO_2-TPD and FTIR demonstrate that higher specific surface area of Cu is good for the hydrogenation of CO_2 and adequate amount of Ti^(3+) plays important roles in CO_2 activation. 7Influence of external electric field on piezotronic effect in ZnO nanowires显示文摘In this work, the piezotronic effect is investigated for the first time in external electric fields ranging from 0 V·cm-I to 2,000 V·cm-1 by using n-type ZnO nanowires supported by a flexible substrate. In the presence of an external electric field, the Schottky barrier height (SBH) is lowered by the image force, allowing more free carriers to pass through the metal-semiconductor junction and enhancing the screening effect on positive piezoelectric polarization charges. As the strength of the external electric field increases, the piezotronic effect is significantly suppressed and the metal-semiconductor contact finally exhibits Ohmic behavior. The experimental results show that devices can be classified into three groups, corresponding to low, moderate, and high carrier densities of the nanowires used. 8Lipopolysaccharide induced intestinal epithelial injury:a novel organoids-based model for sepsis in vitro显示文摘Background: Advances in organoid culture technology have provided a greater understanding of disease pathogenesis, which has been rarely studied in sepsis before. We aim to establish a suitable organoids-based intestinal injury model for sepsis.Methods: Stable passaged organoids were constructed and pre-treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to mimic sepsis-induced intestinal injury. The LPS-induced sepsis model was used as a reference. We used quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction to evaluate the RNA levels of inflammatory factors and antimicrobial peptides. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to evaluate the protein levels, hematoxylin and eosin staining was used to evaluate the pathology of the small intestine of mice, and immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence were used to evaluate the intestinal epithelial barrier function. Perkin Elmer OperettaTM was used to obtain high-resolution images of three-dimensional organoids.Results: An LPS concentration >150 μg/mL after 24 h was identified to cause organoid growth restriction. The fluorescence intensity of zonula occludens-1 and occludins at LPS concentrations >100 μg/mL decreased significantly after 24 h. After LPS stimulation for 8 h, the RNA expression levels of interleukin (IL)-1α, tumor necrosis factor alpha, granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor, IL-6, and regenerating islet-derived protein 3 alpha, beta, and gamma increased. These results resembled those of intestinal epithelial layer alterations in a mouse sepsis model. For IL-10, the RNA expression level increased only when the LPS level >200 μg/mL for 24 h.Conclusions: This study provides the primary intestinalin vitro model to study the effects of LPS-induced intestinal injury resembling sepsis. 9S-wave Q structure of the crust and upper mantle beneath Yunnan from surface waves显示文摘A phase-matched filtering technique is applied to extract fundamental mode signals from Rayleigh waves recorded at 62 digital seismic stations in the Yunnan and Sichuan regions.We use the fundamental mode of vibrations at two stations that are located on the same great circle as the focus to calculate an inter-station attenuation coefficient of the Rayleigh wave with periods between 0.40 and 80.64 s,and invert for the inter-station S-wave Q-factor (Qβ) at depths of 0-200 km.The results indicate that Qβ in Yunnan is 20-140,presenting a low Qβ background with apparent lateral variation.Taking the Honghe Fault as the boundary,Qβ of the crust is only 20 on the west side,extending to a depth of 120 km.The distribution of Qβ is consistent with large-scale Cenozoic volcanic and intrusive rocks in western Yunnan,implying that the crust and mantle are in the thermally active state.In the eastern Yunnan Block,east of the Xiaojiang Fault,Qβ in the upper 120 km is 140 in the south but only 20 in the north.Additionally,around the Dukou-Chuxiong in the mid-Yunnan Block,Qβ in the lithosphere is relatively high at 60-100,corresponding to a stiff crust.This is because the suture between the Indian and Eurasian plates reversed the tension in the rifting stage into the compression of orogenesis,leading to the closure of a gap in the crust.After some time,interstitial fluids gradually disappeared,resulting in a high velocity layer in the crust and low heat flow on the surface.The Yunnan region consists of an obvious block of elevated Qβ,distributed within the low background,consistent with the distribution of heat-flow values on the surface.The Honghe and Xiaojiang faults are tectonic boundaries in addition to being boundaries between regions of high and low crustal Qβ.The low Qβ is probably the result of crustal rupture and disturbance caused by strong earthquakes and the upwelling of hot substances along the deep fault zones.CHEN Jia HU JiaFu YANG HaiYan ZHANG XiaoMan WEN LiMin PENG HengChu 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,5:3
10Highly sensitive and fast response strain sensor based on evanescently coupled micro/nanofibers显示文摘Flexible strain sensors play an important role in electronic skins,wearable medical devices,and advanced robots.Herein,a highly sensitive and fast response optical strain sensor with two evanescently coupled optical micro/nanofibers(MNFs)embedded in a polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)film is proposed.The strain sensor exhibits a gauge factor as high as 64.5 for strain≤0.5%and a strain resolution of 0.0012%which corresponds to elongation of 120 nm on a 1 cm long device.As a proof-of-concept,highly sensitive fingertip pulse measurement is realized.The properties of fast temporal frequency response up to 30 kHz and a pressure sensitivity of 102 kPa^(−1) enable the sensor for sound detection.Such versatile sensor could be of great use in physiological signal monitoring,voice recognition and micro-displacement detection.Wen Yu Ni Yao Jing Pan Wei Fang Xiong Li Limin Tong Lei Zhang 2022Opto-Electronic Advances2022,5,9:2

12A Multifunctional Airfow Sensor Enabled by Optical Micro/nanofber显示文摘Fiber-optic anemometers have attracted an increasing attention over the past decade owing to their high sensitivity,wide dynamic range,low power consumption,and immunity to electromagnetic interference.However,expensive instruments may limit their practical applications.Herein,a new type of airfow sensor based on optical micro/nanofber(MNF)is proposed and realized.The sensing element is a fexible polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)cantilever embedded with a U-shaped MNF.Upon exposure to airfow,the induced defection of the cantilever results in a bending-dependent transmittance variation of the embedded MNF.The performance of the sensor can be engineered by tuning the cantilever thickness and/or the MNF diameter.When four cantilevers are arranged in two orthogonal directions,the transmittance of each cantilever will be dependent on both fow speed and direction.By analysing the output signals of the four cantilevers,omnidirectional airfow with fow speed within 15 m/s were experimentally measured.In addition,a variety of voice and respiratory signals can be monitored and distinguished in real-time using an optimized cantilever with a resolution of 0.012 m/s,presenting great potential for health monitoring applications.Zhang Zhang Yuran Kang Ni Yao Jing Pan Wen Yu Yao Tang Yue Xu Liqiang Wang Lei Zhang Limin Tong 2021Advanced Fiber Materials2021,3,6:2
13Optimal Credibility Estimation of Random Parameters in Hierarchical Random Effect Linear Model显示文摘In the hierarchical random effect linear model, the Bayes estimator of random parameter are not only dependent on specific prior distribution but also it is difficult to calculate in most cases.This paper derives the distributed-free optimal linear estimator of random parameters in the model by means of the credibility theory method. The estimators the authors derive can be applied in more extensive practical scenarios since they are only dependent on the first two moments of prior parameter rather than on specific prior distribution. 18The effect of low-temperature event on the survival and growth of Juglans mandshurica seedlings within forest gaps显示文摘In forest ecosystems, gap formation changes the allocation of abiotic resources and thus affects the survival and growth of understory plants.However, how tree seedling survival and growth respond to low-temperature events and the influencing mechanisms remain unclear.To clarify how low-temperature event limits the survival and growth of tree seedlings in the montane regions of eastern Liaoning Province, northeast China, we investigated temperature and light intensity within secondary forest gaps,and the survival and growth of Juglans mandshurica seedlings after a low-temperature event in the spring of2014.Damage to seedlings due to low temperature significantly varied in different aspects.Seedlings in gaps on southeast-facing slopes were the most seriously damaged,followed by those in gaps on northeast-facing slopes.In contrast, seedlings in west-facing gaps and in control plots without slope aspect were not damaged.The freezing injury index for seedlings was negatively correlated with minimum temperature(r =-0.608, P < 0.01), but it was positively correlated with light intensity(r = 0.818,P < 0.01).In addition, height and root collar diameter of damaged seedlings were significantly lower than those of the undamaged seedlings(P < 0.01) during the early growing season(April–July), but no significant difference were observed during the late growing season(July–October)(P > 0.05).The extent of seedling damage was directly related to slope aspect.Low temperature and high light intensity were found to be the dominant factors affecting extent of damage to seedlings on southeast-and northeast-facing slopes.Xiufen Li Yongjing Wen Jinxin Zhang Limin Liu Lei Jin Tao Yan Yi Wang 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,4:1
