1Discrimination of the rare medicinal plant Dendrobium officinale based on naringenin, bibenzyl, and polysaccharides显示文摘The aim of this study was to establish a method for discriminating Dendrobium officinale from four of its close relatives Dendrobium chrysanthum, Dendrobium crystallinum, Dendrobium aphyllum and Dendrobium devonianum based on chemical composition analysis. We analyzed 62 samples of 24 Dendrobium species. High performance liquid chromatography analysis confirmed that the four low molecular weight compounds 4′,5,7-trihydroxyflavanone (naringenin), 3,4-dihydroxy-4′,5-dime- thoxybibenzyl (DDB-2), 3′,4-dihydroxy-3,5′-dimethoxybibenzyl (gigantol), and 4,4′-dihydroxy-3,3′,5-trimethoxybibenzyl (moscatilin), were common in the genus. The phenol-sulfuric acid method was used to quantify polysaccharides, and the monosaccharide composition of the polysaccharides was determined by gas chromatography. Stepwise discriminant analysis was used to differentiate among the five closely related species based on the chemical composition analysis. This proved to be a simple and accurate approach for discriminating among these species. The results also showed that the polysaccharide content, the amounts of the four low molecular weight compounds, and the mannose to glucose ratio, were important factors for species discriminant. 2Efficient InGaN-based yellow-light-emitting diodes显示文摘Realization of efficient yellow-light-emitting diodes(LEDs) has always been a challenge in solid-state lighting.Great effort has been made, but only slight advancements have occurred in the past few decades. After comprehensive work on InGaN-based yellow LEDs on Si substrate, we successfully made a breakthrough and pushed the wall-plug efficiency of 565-nm-yellow LEDs to 24.3% at 20 A∕cm^2 and 33.7% at 3 A∕cm^2. 3Revisiting and Rethinking Regional Urbanization in Changjiang River Delta,China显示文摘China is entering a critical and accelerating phase of urbanization.As one of the most urbanized regions in China,the Changjiang(Yangtze)River Delta has experienced dramatic urbanization and urban transformation.However,in the recent years,many changes have taken place in this region and there is limited attention to the regional urbanization path evolution,its problems and the way to solve these problems.Therefore,we should revisit the urbanization process in the Changjiang River Delta again.In this paper,we revisited urbanization paths of the Changjiang River Delta by data analysis,influence factors of urbanization by the Gray Relational Analysis,and major challenges to urbanization of the Changjiang River Delta by theoretical considerations.We found that the urbanization of the Changjiang River Delta had experienced several stages of large-scale spatial and urban system restructuring.Within the Changjiang River Delta,Shanghai,Zhejiang and Jiangshu had experienced different urbanization path with local characteristics.But with their development model gradually converging,their urbanization model is also converging.We also found that the major influence factors affecting the Changjiang River Delta urbanization were dynamic change and urbanization was driven by different key factors in different socio-economic development stages.Meanwhile,the Changjiang River Delta urbanization is facing many problems such as existing institutional arrangements,including the hukou(household registration)system and others which can not meet the needs of current socioeconomic development and urbanization.Therefore,it is imperative to promote institutional innovation and adopt a new urbanization development strategy for the sake of the orderly and sustainable urbanization development in the Changjiang River Delta.YANG Shangguang Mark Yaolin WANG WANG Chunlan 2012Chinese Geographical Science2012,22,5:5
4Cluster of solar active regions and onset of coronal mass ejections显示文摘round-the-clock solar observations with full-disk coverage of vector magnetograms and multi-wavelength images demonstrate that solar active regions(ARs) are ultimately connected with magnetic field. Often two or more ARs are clustered, creating a favorable magnetic environment for the onset of coronal mass ejections(CMEs). In this work, we describe a new type of magnetic complex: cluster of solar ARs. An AR cluster is referred to as the close connection of two or more ARs which are located in nearly the same latitude and a narrow span of longitude. We illustrate three examples of AR clusters, each of which has two ARs connected and formed a common dome of magnetic flux system. They are clusters of NOAA(i.e., National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) ARs 11226 & 11227, 11429 & 11430, and 11525 & 11524. In these AR clusters, CME initiations were often tied to the instability of the magnetic structures connecting two partner ARs, in the form of inter-connecting loops and/or channeling filaments between the two ARs. We show the evidence that, at least, some of the flare/CMEs in an AR cluster are not a phenomenon of a single AR, but the result of magnetic interaction in the whole AR cluster. The observations shed new light on understanding the mechanism(s) of solar activity. 6Relationships between tree-ring cell features of Pinus koraiensis and climate factors in the Changbai Mountains,Northeastern China显示文摘Anatomical characteristics have been proven useful for extracting climatic signals. To examine the climatic signals recorded by tree-ring cell features in the Changbai Mountains, we measured cell number and cell lumen diameter, in addition to ring widths, of Korean pine(Pinus koraiensis) tree rings at sites of varied elevation,and we developed chronologies of cell number(CN), mean lumen diameter(MLD), maximum lumen diameter(MAXLD) and tree-ring width(TRW). The chronologies were correlated with climatic factors monthly mean temperature and the sum of precipitation. As shown by our analysis, the cell parameter chronologies were suitable for dendroclimatology studies. CN and TRW shared relatively similar climatic signals which differed from MLD andMAXLD, and growth-climate relationships were elevationdependent, as shown by the following findings:(1) at each elevation, MLD and MAXLD recorded different monthly climatic signals from those recorded by TRW for the same climatic factors; and(2) MLD and MAXLD recorded climatic factors that were absent from TRW at lower and middle elevations. 7ICESat/GLAS-derived changes in the water level of Hulun Lake, Inner Mongolia, from 2003 to 2009显示文摘Hulun Lake is the largest freshwater lake innorthern Inner Mongolia and even minor changes in itslevel may have major effects on the ecology of the lake andthe surrounding area. In this study, we used high-precisionelevation data for the interval from 2003-2009 measuredby the Geoscience Laser Altimetry System (GLAS) onboard the Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat)to assess annual and seasonal water level variations ofHulun Lake. The altimetry data of 32 satellite tracks wereprocessed using the RANdom SAmple Consensus algo-rithm (RANSAC) to eliminate elevation outliers, andsubsequently the Normalized Difference Water Index(NDWI) was used to delineate the area of the lake. From2003-2009, the shoreline of Hulun Lake retreatedwestwards, which was especially notable in the southernpart of the lake. There was only a small decrease in waterlevel, from 530.72 m to 529.22 m during 2003-2009, anaverage rate of 0.08 m/yr. The area of the lake decreased ata rate of 49.52 km^2/yr, which was mainly the result of theshallow bathymetry in the southern part of the basin. Thedecrease in area was initially rapid, then much slower, andfinally rapid again. Generally, the lake extent and waterlevel decreased due to higher temperatures, intenseevaporation, low precipitation, and decreasing runoff.And their fluctuations were caused by a decrease in intra-annual temperature, evaporation, and a slight increase inprecipitation. Overall, a combination of factors related toclimate change were responsible for the variations of thewater level of Hulun Lake during the study interval. 8Brood sex ratio in the Yellow-bellied Prinia(Prinia flaviventris)显示文摘Background:The adjustment of sex ratios in birds can occur at the egg and nestling stages. Previous studies showed that the sex ratio was affected by environmental factors and parental condition; it may result in seasonal and ecosystem differences.Methods:In this study, the brood sex ratio of the Yellow-bellied Prinia(Prinia flaviventris) in the Nonggang area, Guangxi, southwestern China, was investigated during the breeding season from May to June in 2013 using PCR amplification from whole-genome DNA extracted from blood samples. A total of 31 nests of Yellow-bellied Prinia, including 132 brood fledglings and 31 pairs, were sampled.Results:The results showed that the brood sex ratio of the Yellow-bellied Prinia was 1:1, and sex ratios of different nests were evenly distributed within the study area. No significant relationship was found between parental quality and nest characteristics with the brood sex ratio.Conclusions:The present study indicated that no brood sex ratio bias in the Yellow-bellied Prinia highlighted the complexity of sex ratio adjustment in birds. 10Detection of QTL and QTN and candidate genes for oil content in soybean using a combination of four-way-RIL and germplasm populations显示文摘Soybean is a source of edible oil for humans and provides a third of the vegetable oil consumed worldwide.Increasing seed oil content in seeds is thus a key objective in soybean breeding.In the present study,a four-way recombinant inbred line(FW-RIL)population comprising 144 lines,planted in 10 environments,and a germplasm panel of 455 accessions,planted in two environments,were used to collect oil-content phenotypes.First,59 quantitative trait loci(QTL)were detected in the FW-RIL population by inclusive complete interval mapping on a linkage map consisting of 2232 single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)markers.Also in the FW-RILs,44 quantitative trait nucleotides(QTNs)were detected by association analysis using 109,676 SNP markers and fivemethods of multi-locus genome-wide association study.Second,77 QTN were detected by association analysis in the germplasm panel using 63,306 markers.Comparison of the QTL and QTN suggested four QTN controlling oil content.Pathway analysis was performed on genes in attenuation regions of these four QTN,and two candidate genes involved in the synthesis or metabolism of soybean oil were identified.These findings provide useful information about the genetics of oil content and may contribute to its genetic improvement by marker-assisted selection.Xiyu Li Kaixin Zhang Xu Sun Shanshan Huang Jiajing Wang Chang Yang Mahfishan Siyal Chao Wang Chunlan Guo Xiping Hu Wen-Xia Li Hailong Ning 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,5:2
11Hydrostatic pressure influence on magnetic phase diagram and structural parameters of SrTcO_3 from first-principles calculations显示文摘The effects of hydrostatic pressure of SrTcO3 are investigated by means of generalized gradient approximation (GGA) plus on-site Coulomb interaction corrections (GGA+U) method within the framework of density functional theory (DFT). Magnetic phase diagrams and structural parameters of SrTcO3 as a function of pressure are predicted. The magnetic ground state of SrTcO3 is found to keep in a G-type antiferromagnetic (G-AFM) structure under the pressure varying from 0 to 100 GPa. With the increase of the pressure, magnetic exchange energy increases, indicating a higher magnetic ordering temperature for SrTcO3 under a larger pressure. Besides the volume of the unit cell, lattice constants, and the bond length, the angles between typical Tc-O-Tc and Sr-O-Sr also decrease with the pressure, leading to strong structural distortions. Very obvious displacements of Sr and O atoms are observed under the pressure. 14Luminescence mechanism and energy level structure of Eu-doped GaN powders investigated by cathodoluminescence spectroscopy显示文摘1.5at% Eu-doped GaN powders were prepared by a co-precipitation method.Powder X-ray diffraction(XRD)results shows that there is only the wurtzite phase.Cathodoluminescence spectra were measured at room temperature and liquid nitrogen temperature,respectively.The band-to-band luminescence of GaN was shifted from 373 nm to 368 nm with the temperature decreasing from room temperature to liquid nitrogen temperature.The luminescence peaks at 537,557,579,590,597,614,653 and 701 nm are attributed to the Eu ions related transitions in the host of GaN powders and the peak positions were not influenced by the variation of temperature.With the increase of accelerating voltage,the intensity of all luminescence peaks was increased.The strongest luminescence peak at 614 nm shows non-symmetrical shape and is composed of 612,615 and 621 nm through Lorentzian fitting,which indicates there are oxygen and nitrogen environments of the Eu3+ions in the Eu-doped GaN powders.WANG XiaoDan ZENG XiongHui XU Ke MAO HongMin MA ChunLan 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,4:1
