1Early evaluation of growth traits of Larix kaempferi clones显示文摘Early selection is an important method to shorten the breeding cycle for tree species, which may differ in the time for early selection.To evaluate the early selected time for Larix kaempferi, tree height and diameter at breast height of 57 L.kaempferi clones were measured over many different growth years.The results indicated that, except for age × clone interaction for diameter at breast height(P = 0.741), there were significant differences among all variation sources(P < 0.01).The coefficient of phenotypic variation ranged from 14.89 to 35.65%for height and from 19.17 to 23.86% for diameter at breast height in different growth years.The repeatability of height and of diameter at breast height among clones was high,ranging from 0.6181 to 0.8531(height) and from 0.8443 to0.8497(diameter at breast height), in different growth years.There were significant positive correlations between all pairs of growth traits except between height in the 2 nd growth year and height in the 30 th growth year; and between height in the 2 nd growth year × diameter at breast height in the 30 th growth year.With a comprehensive evaluation method and a selection ratio of 10%, L65,L1, L62, L9, L15, and L78 were selected as excellent clones in the 30 th growth year.Their average values of height and diameter at breast height were 9.81 and 16.57%higher than the overall average, representing genetic gains of 6.46 and 13.99%, respectively.This study provides a theoretical foundation for the genetic improvement of L.kaempferi.Yanyan Pan Shuchun Li Chenglu Wang Wenjun Ma Guiyou Xu Lili Shao Kailong Li Xiyang Zhao Tingbo Jiang 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,4:10
2A new species of the genus Crocidura from China based on molecular and morphological data(Eulipotyphla: Soricidae)显示文摘A new species of white-toothed shrew,Crocidura anhuiensis Zhang,Zhang&Li,sp.nov.is described from Mount Huang,China.Genetic sequence(mt DNA Cyt b gene)and morphological(external and skull)data are used to distinguish this newly discovered species.The phylogenetic analysis shows that the materials of this work are monophyletic and allied to C.attenuata by the uncorrected genetic distance 4.9–5.1%,which suggests a species-level divergence.Morphologically,the materials are different from C.attenuata by presenting a greater proportion of tail-to-body ratio and the presence of an obvious tooth root in the mandible.Based on those data,the unnamed species is described as a new species which is currently known only from the Wild Monkey Valley,Mount Huang,Anhui Province,China.Heng Zhang Guiyou Wu Yanqing Wu Jianfei Yao Shuo You Chencheng Wang Feng Cheng Jingjing Chen Mingxia Tang Chunlin Li Baowei Zhang 2019Zoological Systematics2019,44,4:5
3Erosion of the prismatic layer by the organic matrix during the formation of the nacre-prism transition layer in the shell of Pinctada fucata (Bivalvia, Mollusca)显示文摘Three variants of the sequence of formation of the nacre-prism transition layer were observed in Pinctada fucata (Bivalvia, Mollusca) shells. In each case, the layer was formed by the organic matrix secreted by the mantle, together with the interprismatic organic envelope. The continuity of the organic phase throughout the shell was maintained as the new nacreous layer was formed on the nacre-prism transition layer. Changes in the interprismatic organic envelopes on either side of the nacre-prism transition zone indicated that the organic matrix of the nacre-prism transition layer becomes embedded into the organic phase of the prismatic layer. 4Proteomics Study of COI1-regulated Proteins in Arabidopsis Flower显示文摘Jasmonates(JAs) are a new class of plant hormone that regulate expression of diverse genes to mediate various plant responses.The Arabidopsis F-box protein COI1 is required for plant defense and male fertility in JA signal pathway.To further investigate the regulatory role of COI1 in male fertility,we compared the proteomics profiles of Arabidopsis wild type(WT) flowers with coi1-1 mutan male-sterile flowers using two-dimensional difference gel electrophoresis coupled with matrix-assisted laser desoption/ionization-time-of-flight mass spectrometry.Sixteen proteins with potential function in specific biological processes such as metabolism processes and defense/stress responses were differentially expressed in WT and coi1-1 mutant flowers.Verification on a phi class glutathione transferase AtGSTF9,one out of these 16 identified proteins,revealed that the expression of AtGSTF9 was severely downregulated in flowers of coi1-1 mutant compared with that of WT.Further function analyses of these genes would provide new insights into the molecular basis of COI1-regulated male fertility.Lingling Chua Xiaoyi Shan Junxia Wang Wen Peng Guiyou Zhang Daoxin Xie 2010Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2010,52,4:1
5A possible mechanism for the formation of annual growth lines in bivalve shells显示文摘We report a unique shell margin that differed from the usual shell structure of Pinctada fucata.We observed empty organic envelopes in the prismatic layer and the formation of the nacreous layer in the shell margin.All the characteristics of the growing margin indicated that the shell was growing rapidly.To explain this anomaly,we propose the concept of 'jumping development'.During jumping development,the center of growth in the bivalve shell jumps forward over a short time interval when the position of the mantle changes.Jumping development explains the unusual structure of the anomalous shell and the development of annual growth lines in typical shells.Annual growth lines are the result of a discontinuity in the shell microstructure induced by jumping development.LIU XiaoJun YAN ZhenGuang ZHENG GuiLan ZHANG GuiYou WANG HongZhong XIE LiPing ZHANG RongQing 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,2:1

11Genetic Insights into Glycine’s Protective Role Against CAD—European and East Asia,2015 and 2020显示文摘Introduction:The purpose of this study is to examine the potential causal relationship between levels of circulating glycine and coronary artery disease(CAD)using a two-step Mendelian randomization(MR)analysis.Methods:We analyzed data from genome-wide association studies(GWAS)conducted on European and East Asian populations.To assess the causal effects of circulating glycine levels on the risk of CAD.We used the inverse-variance weighting(IVW),weighted median(WM),MR-Egger,and Mendelian Randomization Pleiotropy RESidual Sum and Outlier(MR-PRESSO)methods.Furthermore,we conducted mediation analysis to investigate the contribution of blood pressure and other cardiovascular disease-related traits.Results:The two-step Mendelian randomization analysis revealed that higher levels of glycine in the blood were associated with a reduced risk of CAD in Europeans[odds ratio(OR)=0.84,95%confidence interval(CI):0.72,−0.98;P=0.029]and East Asians:(OR=0.76,95%CI:0.66,−0.89;P=3.57×10−4).Sensitivity analysis confirmed the robustness of these findings.Additionally,our results suggest that about 6.06%of the observed causal effect is mediated through genetically predicted systolic blood pressure(SBP)in the European population.Discussion:Our results contribute to the current knowledge regarding the involvement of glycine in the progression of CAD,and provide valuable methodological insights for the prevention and treatment of this condition.Jiaying Yu Zhuolin Zhu Ting Wang Yuanhao Wei Lianjie Huang Qianru Zhang Yuting Zhang Yiran Wang Guiyou Liu Xiang Shu Rennan Feng 2024China CDC weekly2024,6,9:0
12Design and construction of size-controlled CoO/CS catalysts for Fischer–Tropsch synthesis显示文摘The use of supported Co-based catalysts is widespread in various catalytic reactions due to their unique structures.The structural sensitivity of these catalysts is closely linked to their particle size and crystal form.Consequently,comprehending the structure–activity relationship requires the development of well-defined Co-based catalysts.Herein,we employed a colloidal wet chemical process and a heterogeneous nucleation method to prepare well-defined Co-based catalysts supported by inert carbon nanospheres.The nanospheres’surface possesses abundant functional groups that efficiently capture metal complexes and facilitate the nucleation and growth of CoO nanoparticles.By adjusting the Co source concentration,solvent molar ratio,and nucleation growth kinetics,we successfully prepared CoO/carbon sphere(CS)catalysts with different particle sizes and crystal forms.The influence of metallic face-centered cubic(fcc)-Co^(0) particle size in the range of 6.6–17.6 nm on the performance of Fischer–Tropsch synthesis(FTS)using well-defined CoO/CS catalysts has been investigated.The result demonstrated that the turnover frequency(TOF)remained constant for CoO/CS catalysts with metallic fcc-Co^(0) particle size larger than 7.7 nm.However,both the selectivity and the activity changed for CoO/CS catalysts with smaller particles(<7.7 nm).Significantly,when metallic fcc-Co^(0) particle size was reduced from 17.6 to 7.7 nm,the cobalt time yield increased to 6.7μmolCO·gCo^(-1)·s^(-1),indicating improved catalytic activity.At the same time,the CH_(4) selectivity decreased to 4.9%,suggesting a higher preference for hydrocarbon production.These findings demonstrate the importance of particle size in Co catalyzed Fischer–Tropsch synthesis.The use of well-defined CoO/CS catalysts offers valuable insights into the structure–activity relationship,leading to a better understanding of Co catalyzed Fischer–Tropsch synthesis.Wei Sun Ting Kuang Guiyou Wei Yue Li Yaqin Liu Shuai Lyu Yuhua Zhang Jinlin Li Li Wang 2024Nano Research2024,17,4:0
13Self-selective memristor-enabled in-memory search for highly efficient data mining显示文摘Similarity search,that is,finding similar items in massive data,is a fundamental computing problem in many fields such as data mining and information retrieval.However,for large-scale and high-dimension data,it suffers from high computational complexity,requiring tremendous computation resources.Here,based on the low-power self-selective memristors,for the first time,we propose an in-memory search(IMS)system with two innovative designs.First,by exploiting the natural distribution law of the devices resistance,a hardware locality sensitive hashing encoder has been designed to transform the realvalued vectors into more efficient binary codes.Second,a compact memristive ternary content addressable memory is developed to calculate the Hamming distances between the binary codes in parallel.Our IMS system demonstrated a 168energy efficiency improvement over all-transistors counterparts in clustering and classification tasks,while achieving a software-comparable accuracy,thus providing a low-complexity and low-power solution for in-memory data mining applications.Ling Yang Xiaodi Huang Yi Li Houji Zhou Yingjie Yu Han Bao Jiancong Li Shengguang Ren Feng Wang Lei Ye Yuhui He Jia Chen Guiyou Pu Xiang Li Xiangshui Miao 2023InfoMat2023,5,5:0
