1Structure and regulatory function of plant transcription factors显示文摘The expression of inducible genes in plants is regulated by specific transcription factors at the transcrip-tional level. A typical transcription factor usually contains a DNA-binding domain, a transcription regulation domain, a dimerization site and a nuclear localization domain. These functional domains define the characteristic, localization and regulatory role of a transcription factor. Transcription factors recognize and bind to specific cis-acting elements or interact with other proteins, and then activate or repress the transcription of target genes by their functional domains. 2Early evaluation of growth traits of Larix kaempferi clones显示文摘Early selection is an important method to shorten the breeding cycle for tree species, which may differ in the time for early selection.To evaluate the early selected time for Larix kaempferi, tree height and diameter at breast height of 57 L.kaempferi clones were measured over many different growth years.The results indicated that, except for age × clone interaction for diameter at breast height(P = 0.741), there were significant differences among all variation sources(P < 0.01).The coefficient of phenotypic variation ranged from 14.89 to 35.65%for height and from 19.17 to 23.86% for diameter at breast height in different growth years.The repeatability of height and of diameter at breast height among clones was high,ranging from 0.6181 to 0.8531(height) and from 0.8443 to0.8497(diameter at breast height), in different growth years.There were significant positive correlations between all pairs of growth traits except between height in the 2 nd growth year and height in the 30 th growth year; and between height in the 2 nd growth year × diameter at breast height in the 30 th growth year.With a comprehensive evaluation method and a selection ratio of 10%, L65,L1, L62, L9, L15, and L78 were selected as excellent clones in the 30 th growth year.Their average values of height and diameter at breast height were 9.81 and 16.57%higher than the overall average, representing genetic gains of 6.46 and 13.99%, respectively.This study provides a theoretical foundation for the genetic improvement of L.kaempferi.Yanyan Pan Shuchun Li Chenglu Wang Wenjun Ma Guiyou Xu Lili Shao Kailong Li Xiyang Zhao Tingbo Jiang 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,4:10
3A new species of the genus Crocidura from China based on molecular and morphological data(Eulipotyphla: Soricidae)显示文摘A new species of white-toothed shrew,Crocidura anhuiensis Zhang,Zhang&Li,sp.nov.is described from Mount Huang,China.Genetic sequence(mt DNA Cyt b gene)and morphological(external and skull)data are used to distinguish this newly discovered species.The phylogenetic analysis shows that the materials of this work are monophyletic and allied to C.attenuata by the uncorrected genetic distance 4.9–5.1%,which suggests a species-level divergence.Morphologically,the materials are different from C.attenuata by presenting a greater proportion of tail-to-body ratio and the presence of an obvious tooth root in the mandible.Based on those data,the unnamed species is described as a new species which is currently known only from the Wild Monkey Valley,Mount Huang,Anhui Province,China.Heng Zhang Guiyou Wu Yanqing Wu Jianfei Yao Shuo You Chencheng Wang Feng Cheng Jingjing Chen Mingxia Tang Chunlin Li Baowei Zhang 2019Zoological Systematics2019,44,4:5
4Erosion of the prismatic layer by the organic matrix during the formation of the nacre-prism transition layer in the shell of Pinctada fucata (Bivalvia, Mollusca)显示文摘Three variants of the sequence of formation of the nacre-prism transition layer were observed in Pinctada fucata (Bivalvia, Mollusca) shells. In each case, the layer was formed by the organic matrix secreted by the mantle, together with the interprismatic organic envelope. The continuity of the organic phase throughout the shell was maintained as the new nacreous layer was formed on the nacre-prism transition layer. Changes in the interprismatic organic envelopes on either side of the nacre-prism transition zone indicated that the organic matrix of the nacre-prism transition layer becomes embedded into the organic phase of the prismatic layer. 5Protection of 3'-methoxy-puerarin against focal brain ischemia and its association with c-fos expression显示文摘The present study established a rat model of focal brain ischemia by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery covered with FeCl3, and investigated the protective effect of 3'-methoxy-puerarin. Hippocampal and cortical c-fos gene expression was determined using in situ hybridization. Results showed that 3'-methoxy-puerarin reduced neurological deficit scores, cerebral infarcted zone and water content of brain tissues, dramatically increased the activity of catalase and glutathione peroxidase in the ischemia zone of the hippocampus, increased the activity of catalase in the cortex, decreased lipid peroxide and lactic acid contents in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex, and down-regulated c-fos gene expression in brain ischemic rats. 7Proteomics Study of COI1-regulated Proteins in Arabidopsis Flower显示文摘Jasmonates(JAs) are a new class of plant hormone that regulate expression of diverse genes to mediate various plant responses.The Arabidopsis F-box protein COI1 is required for plant defense and male fertility in JA signal pathway.To further investigate the regulatory role of COI1 in male fertility,we compared the proteomics profiles of Arabidopsis wild type(WT) flowers with coi1-1 mutan male-sterile flowers using two-dimensional difference gel electrophoresis coupled with matrix-assisted laser desoption/ionization-time-of-flight mass spectrometry.Sixteen proteins with potential function in specific biological processes such as metabolism processes and defense/stress responses were differentially expressed in WT and coi1-1 mutant flowers.Verification on a phi class glutathione transferase AtGSTF9,one out of these 16 identified proteins,revealed that the expression of AtGSTF9 was severely downregulated in flowers of coi1-1 mutant compared with that of WT.Further function analyses of these genes would provide new insights into the molecular basis of COI1-regulated male fertility.Lingling Chua Xiaoyi Shan Junxia Wang Wen Peng Guiyou Zhang Daoxin Xie 2010Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2010,52,4:1

9A possible mechanism for the formation of annual growth lines in bivalve shells显示文摘We report a unique shell margin that differed from the usual shell structure of Pinctada fucata.We observed empty organic envelopes in the prismatic layer and the formation of the nacreous layer in the shell margin.All the characteristics of the growing margin indicated that the shell was growing rapidly.To explain this anomaly,we propose the concept of 'jumping development'.During jumping development,the center of growth in the bivalve shell jumps forward over a short time interval when the position of the mantle changes.Jumping development explains the unusual structure of the anomalous shell and the development of annual growth lines in typical shells.Annual growth lines are the result of a discontinuity in the shell microstructure induced by jumping development.LIU XiaoJun YAN ZhenGuang ZHENG GuiLan ZHANG GuiYou WANG HongZhong XIE LiPing ZHANG RongQing 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,2:1

14A high-concentrated and nonflammable electrolyte for potassium ion-based dual-graphite batteries显示文摘Potassium ion-based dual-graphite batteries(KDGBs)emerge as promising devices for large-scale applications due to their high voltage,low cost,environmental friendliness.However,conventional KPF6/carbonate-based electrolytes suffer from severe oxidation decomposition,low concentration,flammability,which limit the capacity and cyclability of KDGBs.Herein,a nonflammable potassium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide/triethyl phosphate(KFSI/TEP)electrolyte was designed for KDGBs.When the salt-to-solvent molar ratio increases to 1:1.3,graphite cathode operated at the cut-off potential of 5.2 V exhibits much enhanced capacity,excellent rate capability(26.4 mAh∙g^(−1) at 1.0 A∙g^(−1)),superior cyclability with 98%capacity retention after 350 cycles.Inorganic compounds-rich electrode/electrolyte interphase layers derived from the preferential decomposition of FSI−anions ensure good compatibility of the 1:1.3 KFSI/TEP electrolyte with K metal and graphite anodes.Based on this electrolyte,asassembled KDGBs show high operation voltage of 4.3 V and good cycling performance.This work provides feasibility for developing long-life and safe-operation DGBs.Kexin Li Guiyou Ma Dandan Yu Wen Luo Jiaxin Li Laishun Qin Yuexiang Huang Da Chen 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:1
