| 1 | Houshiheisan compound prescription protects neurovascular units after cerebral ischemia显示文摘Houshiheisan is composed of wind-dispelling(chrysanthemun flower, divaricate saposhnikovia root, Manchurian wild ginger, cassia twig, Szechwan lovage rhizome, and platycodon root) and deficiency-nourishing(ginseng, Chinese angelica, large-head atractylodes rhizome, Indian bread,and zingiber) drugs. In this study, we assumed these drugs have protective effects against cerebral ischemia, on neurovascular units. Houshiheisan was intragastrically administered in a rat model of focal cerebral ischemia. Hematoxylin-eosin staining, transmission electron microscopy, immunofluorescence staining, and western blot assays showed that Houshiheisan reduced pathological injury to the ischemic penumbra, protected neurovascular units, visibly up-regulated neuronal nuclear antigen expression, and down-regulated amyloid precursor protein and amyloid-β 42expression. Wind-dispelling and deficiency-nourishing drugs maintained NeuN expression to varying degrees, but did not affect amyloid precursor protein or amyloid-β 42 expression in the ischemic penumbra. | 3 | Assessment on alien herbicide-resistant gene flow among crucifers by sexual compatibility显示文摘Cross-pollination and high cross-compatibility are frequently found in many cruciferous plants, which im-plies that there might be potential risk of alien gene flow among crucifers. In this work, the alien glyphosate-resistant gene flow between GM (Genetically modified) rapeseed vari-ety Q3 (Brassica napus) and 6 varieties from 5 cruciferous species was assessed by sexual compatibility through aniline blue fluorescence observation, manual cross, mentor pollina-tion with the mixture pollen and DNA identification. The results indicated that the compatibility indices of two B. napus varieties, B. juncea var. multiceps Tsen et Lee and Chinese cabbage (B. chinensis) (as female) with Q3 (as male) were 16.15, 12.77, 2.345 and 0.85, respectively. F1 plants were examined by PCR and all of these samples were confirmed as positive. Crossing between Orychophragmus violaceus, Des-curainia sophia (as female) and Q3 (as male) expressed high cross-incompatibility. Fluorescence microscope observation indicated that growing of pollen tube terminated at the upper 1/3 part of the style of O. violaceus and on the stigma surface of D. sophia. The mentor plants were further analyzed by PCR and all were shown to be negative. Under the neighboring growth and natural pollination conditions, the rates of gene flow to two B. napus varieties were 2.3278% and 2.1487%, respectively, B. juncea var. multiceps Tsen et Lee and Chinese cabbage were 1.0157% and 0.9236%, re-spectively. No gene flow was observed in O. violaceus and D. sophia. Frequency of gene flow was highly correlated with sexual compatibility. | 7 | Cellulose Nanofibrous Membranes Modified with Phenyl Glycidyl Ether for Efficient Adsorption of Bovine Serum Albumin显示文摘Hydrophobic interaction chromatography(HIC)as an indispensable method for protein purification has attracted considerable attentions of researchers as well as biopharmaceutical industries.However,the low binding capacity and slow adsorption rate of the currently available HIC media lead to a little supply and high price of the highly purified proteins.Herein,nanofibrous membranes with hydrophobic binding sites were developed for HIC by directly coupling phenyl glycidyl ether on the hydrolyzed cellulose acetate nanofiber membrane(cellulose-phenyl NFM).Scanning electron microscope(SEM),water contact angle(WCA),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)surface area analysis and capillary flow porometer(CFP)were applied to evaluate the physically and chemically structural transformation.The obtained cellulose-phenyl NFMs showed a proper hydrophilcity(WCA=37°),a relatively high BET surface area(3.6 times the surface area of commercial fibrous membranes),and tortuous-channel structure with through-hole size in the range of 0.25-1.2μm,which led to a little non-specificity adsorption,high bovine serum albumin adsorption capacity of 118 mg g^(−1),fast adsorption process within 12 h,good long-term stability and reusability.Moreover,compared with traditional modification methods which always include activation and graft two steps,direct coupling method is more efficient for HIC media fabrication.Therefore,cellulose-phenyl NFMs with outstanding protein adsorption performance could be a kind of promising candidate for HIC. | Lihuan Wang Qiuxia Fu Jianyong Yu Lifang Liu Bin Ding | 2019 | Advanced Fiber Materials2019,1,3: | 3 |

| 9 | Control Effect of Several Replacement Plants on Invasive Weed Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng显示文摘To select the suitable plant species controlling Eupatorium adenophorum in hilly area,ecological adaptability,competitiveness and control efficacy of many replacement plants with economic value in Guizhou Province of China were studied.The results showed that the coverage of Paspalum wetsfeteini and Dolichos lablab were 100% and 93%,which increased by 3.70 and 3.44 times compared with Lolium perenne,respectively;their relative crowding coefficient with E.adenophorum were 7.09 and 22.78,which increased by 2.43 and 7.80 times compared with L perenne,respectively.Using excavation method,the control efficacies of replacement plants were 99.3 % and 96.9%,respectively,while the control efficacy of replacement plants using mowing method was lower than 66.4%.The overwintering rate of P.wetsfeteini in the following year was 95% ;its coverage was still 100% and its control efficacy against E.adenophorum remained over 99%.D.lablab was difficult to survive the winter in the north region beyond 26.2°N,so it could only be applied as annual replacement plant.The coverage of Setaria anceps,Cajanus cajan and other test plants were less than 90%,with poor control efficacy against E.adenophorum. | Lu Xiangyang Wang Qiuxia Zhang Jinhua Zuo Xiangbing Liu Bin | 2013 | Plant Diseases and Pests2013,4,2: | 3 |
| 10 | Isolation and Neuroprotective Activity of Phenolic Derivatives from the Marine-Derived Fungus Penicillium janthinellum显示文摘A new phenolic compound, 6-(2-acetyl-3,5-dihydroxybenzyl)-4-hydroxy-3-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one(1), along with other six known phenolic derivatives(2-7), were isolated from the mangrove rhizosphere fungus Penicillium janthinellum HK1-6 cultured in potato dextrose broth medium containing 30 g L^(-1) of natural sea salt. The structure of the new compound(1) was elucidated by comprehensive analysis of spectroscopic data including 1D and 2D NMR spectra. The proposed biosynthetic pathway of compound 1 was also studied in this research. Interestingly, a brominated phenolic derivative, aryl bromide(compound 8), was obtained from this fungal strain cultured in medium containing 30 g L^-1 of NaBr instead of natural sea salt. Compound 8 is proposed as a new natural product and formed through bromination of compound 7 when the fungus was cultured with NaBr. The neuroprotective effect of compound 1 on oxygen-glucose deprivation(OGD)-induced injury was investigated in rat spinal cord astrocytes. | 11 | A comparative study of proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of rat adipose-derived stem cells in β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP), forsterite (Mg_2SiO_4 ) and clinoenstatite (MgSiO_3)显示文摘In this study, the effects of forsterite and clinoenstatite powder extracts on the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of rat adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) were investigated and compared with the β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) powder extracts. Methylthiazolyldiphenyl-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay and live-dead staining were performed to evaluate the viability and proliferation of rat ASCs. Osteogenic differentiation of rat ASCs were assayed by alkaline phosphatase (ALP) staining and ALP activity test. The expression of osteogenic marker genes (alkaline phosphatase (ALP), runt related transcription factor 2 (Runx2), collagen type Iα1 (Col1α1), secreted phosphoprotein1 (Spp1, osteopontin), integrin binding sialoprotein (Ibsp), bone gla protein (Bglap)) were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The MTT assay and the live-dead staining showed that all the three ceramics possessed good cytocompatibility with rat ASCs. Furthermore, forsterite and clinoenstatite promoted the proliferation of rat ASCs compared with β-TCP. The results of the ALP activity test and the real-time PCR demonstrated that forsterite and clinoenstatite promoted the osteogenic differentiation of rat ASCs. | 12 | Comparative analysis of membranous and other nephropathy subtypes and establishment of a diagnostic model显示文摘This study aimed to compare clinical features between membranous nephropathy (MN) and nonmembranous nephropathy (non-MN), to explore the clinically difTerential diagnosis of these two types, and to establish a diagnostic model of MN. After renal biopsy was obtained, 798 patients were divided into two groups based on their examination results: primary MN group (n = 248) and non-MN group (n = 550). Their data were statistically analyzed. Logistic regression analysis indicated that anti-PLA2R antibodies, IgG, and Cr were independently correlated with MN, and these three parameters were then used to establish the MN diagnostic model. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve confirmed that our diagnostic model could distinguish between patients with and without MN, and their corresponding sensitivity, specificity, and AUC were 79.9%, 89.4%, and 0.917, respectively. The cutoff value for this combination in MN diagnosis was 0.34.
