| 2 | Cross-cultural adaption and psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the Diabetes Behavior Rating Scale: a pilot study显示文摘Self-care behavior plays a major role in diabetic management. However, in China, a satisfactory instrument has not yet been developed to evaluate the compliance of self-care behavior for young patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1 DM). The Diabetes Behavior Rating Scale(DBRS) has a potential to be the first mature instrument. The purpose of this study is to cross-culturally adapt the DBRS, and preliminarily evaluate its psychometric properties. The instrument translation included translation, back translation and culture adaptation. Psychometric properties were assessed in a sample of 116 young patients with T1 DM adapting insulin injection therapy. The Chinese version of the DBRS was divided to four subscales. Cronbach's α for the total scale was 0.92. The mean inter-item and item-total correlations were 0.35 and 0.54 respectively. Test-retest reliability showed good temporal stability(r=0.81, P=0.001). Negative correlations were found between DBRS scores with the Diabetes Distress Scale scores(r=.0.32, P=0.003) and hemoglobin A1 c(HbA1 c) levels(r=.0.36, P=0.002). Higher DBRS scores correlated with better glycemic control. The Chinese insulin injection therapy version of the DBRS is well translated and culturally adapted. | 6 | Optimized prime editing efficiently generates glyphosate-resistant rice plants carrying homozygous TAP-IVS mutation in EPSPS显示文摘Dear Editor,Prime editing is a novel and universal CRISPR-Cas-derived precise genome-editing technology and has great potentials for applications in basic plant research and crop molecular breeding(Anzalone et al.,2019).Although low efficiency has restrained the original prime editors(PEs)from being used as a routine tool for precise genome editing in plants,an iterative update of the PEs is removing this obstacle(Lin et al.,2021;Xu et al.,2022).Recently,the Liu group reported three optimization strategies for improving prime editing efficiency(Chen et al.,2021;Nelson et al.,2022).The first strategy is based on engineered prime editing guide RNAs(epegRNAs),which were generated by incorporating structured RNA motifs to the 3′terminus of pegRNAs.This strategy enhances pegRNA stability and prevents degradation of the 3′extension(Nelson et al.,2022).The second strategy is based on the optimized PE2 protein(PEmax),which harbors a SpCas9 variant with increased nuclease activity,an additional nuclear localization signal(NLS)sequences,and a new linker between nCas9 and reverse transcriptase(Chen et al.,2021).The third strategy is based on inhibition of DNA mismatch repair(MMR)in cells(Chen et al.,2021).In this work,we tested the optimized PEs generated with these three strategies in rice,demonstrating that the optimized PEs greatly improved prime editing efficiency in rice.We named the two optimized PEs ePE3max and ePE5max:the former is comprised of the PEmax protein,an epegRNA with evopreQ1 appended to its 3′end,and a nicking sgRNA;the latter is comprised of the ePE3max system and a dominant negative OsMLH1 variant for inhibiting MMR.Using the two optimized PEs,we efficiently generated homozygous and heterozygous T173I,A174V,and P177S(TAP-IVS)mutation in EPSPS in rice,which lays a solid foundation for rice non-transgenic glyphosate-resistance breeding. | Yuanyuan Jiang Yiping Chai Dexin Qiao Junya Wang Cuiping Xin Wei Sun Zhenghong Cao Yu Zhang Yun Zhou Xue-Chen Wang Qi-Jun Chen | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,11: | 3 |
| 7 | Global expression analysis during late stage of embryonic pancreatic development of rats with microarray technique显示文摘Objective: To define gene expression profiles during late stage of embryonic pancreatic development of rats and to find out key genes in rat pancreatic functional development. Methods: Pancreata of rats in embryonic day 15.5(E15.5) and 18.5(E18.5) were dissected under microscope respectively. Genechips from Affymetrix company were applied to study gene expression profiles. Some differentially expressed genes were verified by RT-PCR. Results: Comparing E18.5 to E15.5, 8.3% genes were expressed differently 2-fold above, in which, 50.3% were up-regulated, including transcriptions related to metabolic development and various kinds of enzymes and hormones (both endocrine and exocrine) and 49.7% were down-regulated, including transcriptions related to cell differentiation. The percentage of genes having definite function was 63%, and that of expressed sequence tag(EST) was 37%. The result of RT-PCR is accordant to that of genechips. | 13 | Novel and durable composite phase change thermal energy storage materials with controllable melting temperature显示文摘The development of high temperature phase change materials(PCMs)with great comprehensive performance is significant in the future thermal energy storage system.In this study,novel and durable Al-Si/Al_(2)O_(3)-Al N composite PCMs with controllable melting temperature were successfully synthesized by using pristine Al powder as raw material and tetraethyl orthosilicate as SiO_(2)source.The Al_(2)O_(3)shell and Al-Si alloy were in-situ produced via the substitution reaction between molten Al and SiO_(2).Importantly,the crack caused by the incomplete encapsulation of the Al_(2)O_(3)shell could repair itself by the nitridation reaction of internal molten Al and thereby forming a highly dense Al_(2)O_(3)-Al N composite shell.The produced dense Al_(2)O_(3)-Al N composite shell could significantly improve the thermal cycling stability of composite PCMs,and thus,the thermal storage density decrease of the Al-Si/Al_(2)O_(3)-Al N(59.8 J/g to77.7 J/g)was far less than that of the Al-Si/Al_(2)O_(3)(118.5 J/g)after 3000 thermal cycles.Moreover,the synthesized Al-Si/Al_(2)O_(3)-Al N still exhibited a controllable melting temperature(571.5-637.9℃),relatively high thermal storage density(105.6-150.7 J/g),great dimensional stability and structural stability after3000 thermal cycles.Hence,the synthesized Al-Si/Al_(2)O_(3)-Al N composite PCMs,as promising preferential thermal energy storage materials,can be stably used in the energy utilization efficiency improvement of various systems for more than 6 years. | Haiting Wei Shuiyuan Yang Cuiping Wang Changrui Qiu Kairui Lin Jiajia Han Yong Lu Xingjun Liu | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,27: | 1 |

| 15 | A Comparative Investigation of Single Crystal and Polycrystalline Ni-Rich NCMs as Cathodes for Lithium-Ion Batteries显示文摘Nickel-rich LiNi_(1-x-y)Co_(x)Mn_(y)O_(2)(NCM,1-x-y≥0.6)is known as a promising cathode material for lithium-ion batteries since its superiority of high voltage and large capacity.However,polycrystalline Ni-rich NCMs suffer from poor cycle stability,limiting its further application.Herein,single crystal and polycrystalline LiNi_(0.84)Co_(0.07)Mn_(0.09)O_(2)cathode materials are compared to figure out the relation of the morphology and the electrochemical storage performance.According to the Li^(+)diffusion coefficient,the lower capacity of single crystal samples is mainly ascribed to the limited Li+diffusion in the large bulk.In situ XRD illustrates that the polycrystalline and single crystal NCMs show a virtually identical manner and magnitude in lattice contraction and expansion during cycling.Also,the electrochemically active surface area(ECSA)measurement is employed in lithium-ion battery study for the first time,and these two cathodes show huge discrepancy in the ECSA after the initial cycle.These results suggest that the single crystal sample exhibits reduced cracking,surface side reaction,and Ni/Li mixing but suffers the lower Li^(+)diffusion kinetics.This work offers a view of how the morphology of Ni-rich NCM effects the electrochemical performance,which is instructive for developing a promising strategy to achieve good rate performance and excellent cycling stability. | Xianming Deng Rui Zhang Kai Zhou Ziyao Gao Wei He Lihan Zhang Cuiping Han Feiyu Kang Baohua Li | 2023 | Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,3: | 1 |
