| 1 | Spatial distribution of heavy metals(Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd)in sediments of a coastal wetlands in eastern Fujian, China显示文摘We investigated the spatial distribution(horizontal and vertical concentrations) of copper(Cu),lead(Pb), zinc(Zn), and cadmium(Cd) in five wetland types(mudflat, aquaculture wetland, water area, farmland wetland and mangrove) from three areas(Ningde, Fuding,and Xiapu), China. Cu concentrations in five wetland types descended in the order: farm wetland, mudflat, aquaculture,water area and mangrove. Pb concentrations decreased in the order: aquaculture, mangrove, farm wetland, mudflat,and water area. Zn content decreased in the order: farm wetland, water area, aquaculture, mudflat and mangrove,and Cd content decreased as follows: mangrove, aquaculture, water area, mudflat, and farm wetland. Comparison of the concentrations of the same heavy metals in different areas showed that the highest Cu(63.75 mg kg^-1) and Zn(152.32 mg kg^-1) concentrations occurred in Ningde coastal wetlands; Pb(110.58 mg kg^-1) and Cd(2.81 mg kg^-1) contents were highest in Fuding wetlands,and the average contents of all heavy metals were very low in Xiapu wetlands. Examination of the vertical distribution showed that the Cu content was high in all mudflat layers;Pb and Cd concentrations were highest in aquaculture and mangrove wetlands, respectively, and Zn content was highest in farm wetlands. The spatial distribution of Cu and Zn contents for different areas decreased as follows:Ningde [ Fuding [ Xiapu, for Pb and Cd were most concentrated in Fuding coastal wetlands. | 2 | A nomogram for individualized estimation of survival among adult patients with adrenocortical carcinoma after surgery:a retrospective analysis and multicenter validation study显示文摘Background:Clinical outcome of adrenocortical carcinoma(ACC)varies because of its heterogeneous nature and reliable prognostic prediction model for adult ACC patients is limited.The objective of this study was to develop and externally validate a nomogram for overall survival(OS)prediction in adult patients with ACC after surgery.Methods:Based on the data from the Surveillance Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)database,adults patients diagnosed with ACC between January 1988 and December 2015 were identified and classified into a training set,comprised of 404 patients diagnosed between January 2007 and December 2015,and an internal validation set,com-prised of 318 patients diagnosed between January 1988 and December 2006.The endpoint of this study was OS.The nomogram was developed using a multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression algorithm in the training set and its performance was evaluated in terms of its discriminative ability,calibration,and clinical usefulness.The nomogram was then validated using the internal SEER validation,also externally validated using the Cancer Genome Atlas set(TCGA,82 patients diagnosed between 1998 and 2012)and a Chinese multicenter cohort dataset(82 patients diag-nosed between December 2002 and May 2018),respectively.Results:Age at diagnosis,T stage,N stage,and M stage were identified as independent predictors for OS.A nomo-gram incorporating these four predictors was constructed using the training set and demonstrated good calibration and discrimination(C-index 95%confidence interval[CI],0.715[0.679-0.751]),which was validated in the internal validation set(C-index[95%CI],0.672[0.637-0.707]),the TCGA set(C-index[95%CI],0.810[0.732-0.888])and the Chi-nese multicenter set(C-index[95%CI],0.726[0.633-0.819]),respectively.Encouragingly,the nomogram was able to successfully distinguished patients with a high-risk of mortality in all enrolled patients and in the subgroup analyses.Decision curve analysis indicated that the nomogram was clinically useful and applicable.Conclusions:The study presents a nomogram that incorporates clinicopathological predictors,which can accurately predict the OS of adult ACC patients after surgery.This model and the corresponding risk classification system have the potential to guide therapy decisions after surgery. | Jianqiu Kong Junjiong Zheng Jinhua Cai Shaoxu Wu Xiayao Diao Weibin Xie Xiong Chen Chenyi Liao Hao Yu Xinxiang Fan Chaowen Huang Zhuowei Liu Wei Chen Qiang Lv Haide Qin Jian Huang Tianxin Lin | 2019 | Cancer Communications2019,39,1: | 3 |
| 3 | Thermodynamic analysis of ethanol synthesis from hydration of ethylene coupled with a sequential reaction显示文摘Coal-based ethanol production by hydration of ethylene is limited by the low equilibrium ethylene conversion at elevated temperature.To improve ethylene conversion,coupling hydration of ethylene with a potential ethanol consumption reaction was analyzed thermodyna-mically.Five reactions have been attempted and compared:(1)dehydration of ethanol to ethyl ether(2C2H2OH5■C2H5OC2H5+H2O),(2)dehydrogenation of ethanol to acetaldehyde(C2H2OH5■CH3CHO+H2),(3)esterifica-tion of acetic acid with ethanol(C2H3OH+CH,COOH■CH3COOC2H5+H2O),(4)dehydrogenation of etha-nol to ethyl acetate(2C2H5OH■CH3COOC2H5+2H2),and(5)oxidative dehydrogenation of ethanol to ethyl acetate(2C2H2OH+O2■CH3COOC2H5+2H2O).The equilibrium constants and equilibrium distributions of the coupled reactions were calculated and the effects of feed composition,temperature and pressure upon the ethylene equilibrium conversion were examined.The results show that dehydrogenation of ethanol to acetaldehyde has lttle effect on ethylene conversion,whereas for dehydrogenation of ethanol to acetaldehyde and ethyl acetate,ethylene conversion can be improved from 8%to 12.8%and 18.5%,respectively,under conditions of H2O/C2H4=2,10 atm and 300℃.The esterification of acetic acid with ethanol can greatly enhance the ethylene conversion to 22.5%;in particular,ethylene can be actually completely converted to ethyl acetate by coupling oxidative dehydrogenation of ethanol. | Jie Gao Zhikai Li Mei Dong Weibin Fan Jianguo Wang | 2020 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2020,14,5: | 2 |

| 19 | Survival after radical cystectomy for bladder cancer:Multicenter comparison between minimally invasive and open approaches显示文摘Objective:To investigate oncological outcomes in patients with bladder cancer who underwent minimally invasive radical cystectomy(MIRC)or open radical cystectomy(ORC).Methods:We identified patients with bladder cancer who underwent radical cystectomy(RC)in 13 centers of the Chinese Bladder Cancer Consortium(CBCC).Perioperative outcomes were compared between MIRC and ORC.The influence of surgical approaches on overall survival(OS)and cancer-specific survival(CSS)in the entire study group and subgroups classified according to pathologic stage or lymph node(LN)status was assessed with the log-rank test.Multivariable Cox proportional hazard models were used to evaluate the association among OS,CSS and risk factors of interest.Results:Of 2098 patients who underwent RC,1243 patients underwent MIRC(1087 laparoscopic RC and 156 robotic-assisted RC,respectively),while 855 patients underwent ORC.No significant differences were noted in positive surgical margin rate and 90-day postoperative mortality rate.MIRC was associated with less estimated blood loss,more LN yield,higher rate of neobladder diversion,longer operative time,and longer length of hospital stay.There was no significant difference in OS and CSS according to surgical approaches(pZ0.653,and 0.816,respectively).Subgroup analysis revealed that OS and CSS were not significantly different regardless of the status of extravesical involvement or LN involvement.Multivariable Cox regression analyses showed that the surgical approach was not a significant predictor of OS and CSS.Conclusions:Our study showed that MIRC was comparable to conventional ORC in terms of OS and CSS. | Weibin Xie Junming Bi Qiang Wei Ping Han Dongkui Song Lei Shi Dingwei Ye Yijun Shen Xin Gou Weiyang He Shaogang Wang Zheng Liu Jinhai Fan Kaijie Wu Zhiwen Chen Xiaozhou Zhou Chuize Kong Yang Liu Chunxiao Liu Abai Xu Baiye Jin Guanghou Fu Wei Xue Haige Chen Tiejun Pan Zhong Tu Tianxin Lin Jian Huang | 2020 | Asian Journal of Urology2020,7,3: | 1 |
