1Characteristics of paleoflood deposits archived in unit T0403 of Yuxi Site in the Three Gorges reservoir areas,China显示文摘Based on the detailed analyses,multi-proxies such as AMS 14 C dating,grain size,component and morphology of heavy minerals,micromorphology of zircon,magnetic susceptibility,Rb/Sr and Hg content are used to research the paleoflood sediments archived in the Yuxi Site.The research indicates that, since 7.6 kaBP,at least 16 times of paleoflood with water level above Wusong Elevation 147.024 m(a.s.l.) left deposits in the Neolithic layers of unit T0403 from the Yuxi Site.The results are induced from the following aspects:(1)The plaeoflood sediments take on great similarities with modern flood sediments in the Yuxi Site and Zhongba Site in probability cumulative curves which mainly show a pattern of 3 segments in fluvial pattern.(2)There is some resemblance between the heavy mineral components and the zircon shape characteristics of paleoflood deposits and those of modern flood deposits.(3) Magnetic susceptibility values(40.44―70.10SI)are lower than those of sediments from cultural layers (59.59―188.68SI).(4)Hg values(290.71―742.51 ng/g)are lower than those of sediments from cultural layers(344.16―10518.17 ng/g).(5)Rb/Sr values are higher than those of sediments from cultural layers, while those of the 4th,5th,6th,7th,8th cultural layers are high,which shows that they are inundated by paleoflood.The reason for many flood deposits existing is related to the site situated on the first terrace where the Yuxi River joins with the Yangtze River.As there are some similarities between the plaeoflood sediments and those of the Zhongba Site,it is feasible to confirm the existence of paleoflood sediments based on the above points.ZHU Cheng MA ChunMei XU WeiFeng BAI JiuJiang ZHENG ChaoGui ZHU GuangYao WANG HuiLin CHEN Ye LU XueFeng 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S1:16
2Spore-pollen-climate factor transfer function and paleoenvironment reconstruction in Dajiuhu,Shennongjia,Central China显示文摘The identified results of 121 surface sediment spore-pollen samples in Shennongjia and meteorological data base of 30 years(January,1971―December,2000)of 7 meteorological stations around Dajiuhu, Shennongjia are used in this study.Selecting 55 species of common spore-pollen with the method of space fitting and stepwise regression we construct the pollen climate factor transfer function of annual mean tem- perature:T=7.649-2.33097X Abies -0.10873X Betula -0.17352X Compositae -0.13176X Cruciferae +0.13356XEuphorbiaceae -0.83069X Campanulaceae +1.96494XPyrrosia+0.38411XPteris+2.77741XSelaginella+0.04439XMonolites.We had reconstructed annual mean temperature series by use of the sporo-pollen samples concentra-tion percentage in peat section with 297 cm thickness in Dajiuhu since 15.753 kaBP.The temperature series reflect well the character of climatic change since the late glacial,which indicates extreme cold climate event of the Oldest Dryas,the Older Dryas,the Younger Dryas and the 8.2 kaBP,the same to the climate fluctuations of Bolling Warm Period and Allerod Warm Period,and the character of temperature change fluctuating frequently at the transition age from the late glacial to the Holocene.The reconstructed temperature also indicate Holocene Optimum,late Holocene warm-dry climate,and the character of climatic change in Dajiuhu in the last 1 ka.The conclusion is that the sporo-pollen samples have important climatic significance to surface sediment and the section of Dajiuhu,Shennongjia and important reference value to studying climatic change during the last glaciation by the temperature transfer function and reconstructed temperature series.ZHU Cheng CHEN Xing ZHANG GuangSheng MA ChunMei ZHU Qing LI ZhongXuan XU WeiFeng 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S1:15
3Earthquake prediction from China's mobile gravity data显示文摘The relation between plate tectonics and earthquake evolution is analyzed systematically on the basis of 1998e2010 absolute and relative gravity data from the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China. Most earthquakes originated in the plate boundary or within the fault zone. Tectonic deformation was most intense and exhibited discontinuity within the tectonically active fault zone because of the differential movement; the stress accumulation produced an abrupt gravity change, which was further enhanced by the earthquake. The gravity data from China's Mainland since 2000 obviously reflected five major earthquakes(Ms > 7), all of which were better reflected than before 2000. Regional gravity anomalies and a gravity gradient change were observed in the area around the epicenter about 2 or 3 years before the earthquake occurred, suggesting that gravity change may be a seismic precursor. 4Natural Variations at TIG1 Encoding a TCP Tran scription Factor Contribute to Plant Architecture Domestication in Rice显示文摘The modification of plant architecture is a crucial target in rice domestication and modern genetic improvement.Although several genes regulating rice plant architecture have been characterized,the molecular mechanisms underlying rice plant architecture domestication remain largely unclear.Here we show that the inclined tiller growth in wild rice is controlled by a single dominant gene,TILLER INCLINED GROWTH 1 (T/Gf),which is located on chromosome 8 and encodes a TCP transcriptional activator.TIG1 is primarily expressed in the adaxial side of the tiller base,promotes cell elongation,and enlarges the tiller angle in wild rice.Variations in the TIG1 promoter of indica cultivars {tig1 allele) resulted in decreased expression of TIG1 in the adaxial side of tiller base and reduced cell length and tiller angle,leading to the transition from inclined tiller growth in wild rice to erect tiller growth during rice domestication.TIG1 positively regulates the expression of EXP A3,EXPB5,and SAUR39 to promote cell elongation and increase the tiller angle.Selective sweep analysis revealed that the tig1 allele was selected in indica cultivars by human beings.The cloning and characterization of TIG1 supports a new scenario of plant architecture evolution in rice.Weifeng Zhang Lubin Tan Hongying Sun Xinhui Zhao Fengxia Liu Hongwei Cai Yongcai Fu Xianyou Sun Ping Gu Zuofeng Zhu Chuanqing Sun 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,8:13
5Drug nanoclusters formed in confined nano-cages of CD-MOF: dramatic enhancement of solubility and bioavailability of azilsartan显示文摘Tremendous efforts have been devoted to the enhancement of drug solubility using nanotechnologies, but few of them are capable to produce drug particles with sizes less than a few nanometers. This challenge has been addressed here by using biocompatible versatile γ-cyclodextrin(γ-CD) metal-organic framework(CD-MOF) large molecular cages in which azilsartan(AZL) was successfully confined producing clusters in the nanometer range. This strategy allowed to improve the bioavailability of AZL in Sprague–Dawley rats by 9.7-fold after loading into CD-MOF. The apparent solubility of AZL/CD-MOF was enhanced by 340-fold when compared to the pure drug. Based on molecular modeling, a dual molecular mechanism of nanoclusterization and complexation of AZL inside the CD-MOF cages was proposed, which was confirmed by small angle X-ray scattering(SAXS) and synchrotron radiation-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(SR-FTIR) techniques. In a typical cage-like unit of CD-MOF, three molecules of AZL were included by the γ-CD pairs, whilst other three AZL molecules formed a nanocluster inside the 1.7 nm sized cavity surrounded by six γ-CDs. 6The contribution of absorption of integral nanocrystals to enhancement of oral bioavailability of quercetin显示文摘In this study,self-discriminating hybrid nanocrystals was utilized to explore the biological fate of quercetin hybrid nanocrystals(QT-HNCs)with diameter around 280 nm(QT-HNCs-280)and550 nm(QT-HNCs-550)following oral and intravenous administration and the contribution of integral nanocrystals to oral bioavailability enhancement of QT was estimated by comparing the absolute exposure of integral QT-HNCs and total QT in the liver.Results showed that QT-HNCs could reside in vivo as intact nanocrystals for as long as 48 h following oral and intravenous administration.A higher accumulation of integral QT-HNCs in liver and lung was observed for both oral and intravenous administration of QT-HNCs.The particle size affects the absorption and biodistribution of integral QT-HNCs and total QT.As compared to QT-HNCs-550,QT-HNCs-280 with smaller particle size is more easily absorbed,but dissolves faster in vivo,leading to higher distribution of QT(146.90 vs.117.91 h·mg/mL)but lower accumulation of integral nanocrystals(6.82 e10 vs.15.27 e10 h·[p/s]/[μW/cm2])in liver following oral administration.Due to its slower dissolution and enhanced recognition by RES,QT-HNCs-550 with larger diameter shows higher liver distribution for both of QT(1015.80 h·mg/mL)and integral nanocrystals(259.63 e10 h·[p/s]/[μW/cm2])than those of QT-HNCs-280(673.82&77.66 e10 h·[p/s]/[μW/cm2])following intravenous administration.The absolute exposure of integral QT-HNCs in liver following oral administration of QT-HNCs are 8.78%for QT-HNCs-280 and 5.88%for QT-HNCs-550,while the absolute exposure of total QT for QT-HNCs-280 and QT-HNCs-550 are 21.80%and 11.61%,respectively.Owing to imprecise quantifcation method,a surprisingly high contribution of integral QT-HNCs to oral bioavailability enhancement of QT(40.27%for QT-HNCs-280 and 50.65%for QT-HNCs-550)was obtained.These results revealed signifcant difference in absorption and biodistrbution between integral nanocrystals and overall drugs following oral and intravenous administration of QT-HNCs,and provided a meaningful reference for the contribution of integral nanocrystals to overall bioavailability enhancement.Baode Shen Chengying Shen Weifeng Zhu Hailong Yuan 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,4:10
7Mechanistic studies of the transport of peimine in the Caco-2 cell model显示文摘Fritillaria thunbergii Miq. has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for its expectorant, antitussive, antiinflammatory and analgesic properties. Moreover, modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that F. thunbergii Miq. has efficacy in the treatment of leukemia and cancers of the liver and cervix. Although the alkaloid, peimine, is largely responsible for these pharmacological effects, it has very low oral bioavailability. The aim of this study was to investigate the intestinal absorption of peimine in Caco-2 cell monolayers. Having demonstrated that peimine is non-toxic to Caco-2 cells at concentrations o200 μmol/L, the effect of peimine concentration, p H, temperature, efflux transport protein inhibitors and EDTA-Na_2 on peimine transport were studied. The results show that peimine transport is concentration-dependent; that at p H 6.0 and 7.4, the P_(app(AP-BL))of peimine is not significantly different but the Papp(BL-AP)) is; that both Papp(AP-BL)and P_(app(BL-AP))at 4 1C are significantly higher than their corresponding values at 37 1C; that the P-glycoprotein(P-gp) inhibitors, verapamil and cyclosporin A, increase absorption of peimine; and that EDTA-Na2 has no discernible effect. 9Rhizosheath formation and involvement in foxtail millet(Setaria italica) root growth under drought stress显示文摘The rhizosheath, a layer of soil particles that adheres firmly to the root surface by a combination of root hairs and mucilage, may improve tolerance to drought stress. Setaria italica(L.) P. Beauv.(foxtail millet), a member of the Poaceae family, is an important food and fodder crop in arid regions and forms a larger rhizosheath under drought conditions. Rhizosheath formation under drought conditions has been studied, but the regulation of root hair growth and rhizosheath size in response to soil moisture remains unclear. To address this question, in this study we monitored root hair growth and rhizosheath development in response to a gradual decline in soil moisture. Here, we determined that a soil moisture level of 10%–14%(w/w)stimulated greater rhizosheath production compared to other soil moisture levels. 11Gravity Changes Before Large Earthquakes in China: 1998-2005显示文摘Although it is well known that coseismic gravity changes take place during an earthquake, previous research has not yielded convincing evidence demonstrating that significant gravity changes occur before large earthquakes. Furthermore, even if we suspect that gravity changes occur before large earthquakes, we have yet to demonstrate how to consistently observe these changes for useful earthquake forecast that would bring benefits to society. We analyzed ground gravity survey data obtained in 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2005 at stations of the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China (CMONOC) and examined gravity changes be-fore the occurrence of nine large (Ms≥6.8) earthquakes that ruptured within or near China's Mainland and Taiwan from November 2001 to August 2008. Results from this analysis show that significant gravity changes occurred across a large region before each of these nine large earthquakes, and these changes were detected by repeated ground gravity surveys through CMONOC. Although these gravity changes were significant, more research is needed to investigate whether these gravity changes could be viewed as precursors of large earthquakes. Limitations and uncertainties in the data include sparseness of the gravity monitoring network, long time intervals between consecutive gravity surveys, inevitable measurement errors, hydrological effects on gravity, and effects of vertical crustal movements on gravity. 12Prevalence, risk factors, and survival associated with pulmonary hypertension and heart failure among patients with underlying coronary artery disease: a national prospective, multicenter registry study in China显示文摘Background: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the commonest cause of heart failure (HF), whereas pulmonary hypertension (PH) has not been established or reported in this patient population. Therefore, we assessed the prevalence, risk factors, and survival in CAD-associated HF (CAD-HF) complicated with PH.Methods: Symptomatic CAD-HF patients were continuously enrolled in this prospective, multicenter registry study. Echocardiography, coronary arteriography, left and right heart catheterization (RHC), and other baseline clinical data were recorded. Patients were followed up and their survival was recorded.Results: One hundred and eighty-two CAD-HF patients were enrolled, including 142 with HF with a preserved ejection fraction (heart failure with preserved ejection fraction [HFpEF];left ventricular ejection fraction [LVEF] ≥50%) and 40 with a reduced ejection fraction (heart failure with reduced ejection fraction [HFrEF];LVEF < 50%). PH was diagnosed with RHC in 77.5% of patients. Patients with PH showed worse hemodynamic parameters and higher mortality. HFrEF-PH patients had worse survival than HFpEF-PH patients. CAD-HF patients with an enlarged left ventricular end-diastolic diameter and reduced hemoglobin were at higher risk of PH. Nitrate treatment reduced the risk of PH. Elevated creatinine and mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP), diastolic pressure gradient (DPG) ≥7 mmHg, and previous myocardial infarction (MI) entailed a higher risk of mortality in CAD-HF patients with PH.Conclusions: PH is common in CAD-HF and worsens the hemodynamics and survival in these patients. Left ventricle enlargement and anemia increase the risk of PH in CAD-HF. Patients may benefit from nitrate medications. 13Antimicrobial effect of sodium houttuyfonate on Staphylococcus epidermidis and Candida albicans biofilms显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study antimicrobial effect of Sodium houttuyfonate(SH) on Staphylococcus epidermidis(SE) and Candida albicans(CA). METHODS: The prepared strain broths(OD600 =0.05) containing SE and CA were firstly used to test the minimal inhibitory concentrations(MICs) of SH, azithromycin(AZM) and fluconazole(FLU) by micro-dilution method. Then the biofilms of SE and CA were matured in 96-well plates, and co-cultured with SH, AZM and FLU for 1, 2 and 3 days to assess the antibiofilm efficacies of the agents with different concentrations by crystal violet staining method. At last, the treated biofilms of SE and CA by 2× MIC agents were observed by scanning electronic microscope. RESULTS: The MICs of SE and CA were 256 and 1024 μg/mL, respectively. After the 1st, 2nd and 3rd day of medications, the suppressions of biofilm were about 60%(P<0.01), 76%(P=0.000) and 75%(P=0.000) by 2×MIC SH, the suppressions of biofilm were about 90%(P=0.000), 88%(P=0.000) and 90%(P=0.000) by 2×MIC SH, which could be testified by scanning electron microscope results. However, the inhibitions of biofilm attachment had no significant difference for SE by SH and azithromycin and CA by SH and fluconazole. 15Gravity variations before the Menyuan Ms6.4 earthquake显示文摘In order to study the relationship between gravity variation and Menyuan Ms6.4 earthquake, gravity variation characteristics in mid-eastern of Qilian Mountain were analyzed based on the 2012-2015 relative gravity datasets. The results indicated that the gravity changes in mid-eastern of Qilian Mountain increased gradually, while gravity changes around Menyuan remarkably. 16Optimization of taste-masking on ibuprofen microspheres with selected structure features显示文摘The microsphere was a primary particulate system for taste-masking with unique structural features defined by production process. In this article, ibuprofen lipid microspheres of octadecanol and glycerin monostearate were prepared to mask the undesirable taste of ibuprofen via three kinds of spray congealing processes, namely, air-cooling, water-cooling and citric acid solution-cooling. The stereoscopic and internal structures of ibuprofen microspheres were quantitatively analyzed by synchrotron radiation X-ray micro-computed tomography(SR-μCT) to establish the relationship between the preparation process and microsphere architectures. It was found that the microstructure and morphology of the microspheres were significantly influenced by preparation processes as the primary factors to determine the release profiles and taste-masking effects. The sphericity of ibuprofen microspheres congealed in citric acid solution was higher than that of other two and its morphology was more regular than that being congealed in air or distilled water, and the contact angles between congealing media and melted ibuprofen in octadecanol and glycerin monostearate well demonstrated the structure differences among microspheres of three processes which controlled the release characteristics of the microspheres. The structure parameters like porosity, sphericity, and radius ratio from quantitative analysis were correlated well with drug release behaviors. 18Gravity variation associated with Wenchuan earthquake in western Sichuan显示文摘Based on the data of mobile gravity observation from 1998 to 2008 in western Sichuan, spatial dynamic variation results of regional gravity field are obtained. The relationship between the gravity variation features and Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake is systematically analyzed. The results show: 1)Gravity variation is closely related to active fault tectonics,and gravity measurement can better reflect material migration following crustal tectonic activity near active fault. 2)The gravity field appeared a wider range regional gravity variation during Wenchuan earthquake occurrence. 19A 0.19 ppm/°C bandgap reference circuit with high-PSRR显示文摘A high-order curvature-compensated CMOS bandgap reference(BGR) topology with a low temperature coefficient(TC) over a wide temperature range and a high power supply reject ratio(PSRR) is presented.High-order correction is realized by incorporating a nonlinear current INL, which is generated by ?V_(GS) across resistor into current generated by a conventional first-order current-mode BGR circuit. In order to achieve a high PSRR over a broad frequency range, a voltage pre-regulating technique is applied. The circuit was implemented in CSMC 0.5 μm 600 V BCD process. The experimental results indicate that the proposed topology achieves TC of0.19 ppm/°C over the temperature range of 165 °C(-40 to 125 °C), PSRR of-123 d B @ DC and-56 d B @ 100 k Hz. 20Role of step-shape structures and critical failure bubble volume in micro bubble constraint显示文摘Micro fluid devices using micro bubbles have attracted much attention for their special advantages.In many cases,the bubbles must be constrained to a certain position so as to grow or shrink under control.In this paper,we discuss the effect of step-shape structures in constraining bubbles against the surface force,which plays a dominant role on the micro scale.We fabricate specimens with a step and electrodes and carry out electrolysis experiments in water to observe bubble growth.We observe the constraining effect of steps as well as failure phenomena.Based on numerical simulations and theoretical analysis,we introduce the critical failure bubble volume and present the analytic solution in a 2-D model.Using step-shape structures is an easy method of constraining bubbles within the critical failure volume.ZHU XiaoGu HUANG WeiFeng LI Yong 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,22:2
