1Single-photon computational 3D imaging at 45 km显示文摘Single-photon light detection and ranging(lidar)offers single-photon sensitivity and picosecond timing resolution,which is desirable for high-precision three-dimensional(3 D)imaging over long distances.Despite important progress,further extending the imaging range presents enormous challenges because only a few echo photons return and are mixed with strong noise.Here,we tackled these challenges by constructing a high-efficiency,low-noise coaxial single-photon lidar system and developing a long-range-tailored computational algorithm that provides high photon efficiency and good noise tolerance.Using this technique,we experimentally demonstrated active single-photon 3 D imaging at a distance of up to 45 km in an urban environment,with a low return-signal level of^1 photon per pixel.Our system is feasible for imaging at a few hundreds of kilometers by refining the setup,and thus represents a step towards low-power and high-resolution lidar over extra-long ranges.ZHENG-PING LI XIN HUANG YUAN CAO BIN WANG YU-HUAI LI WEIJIE JIN CHAO YU JUN ZHANG QIANG ZHANG CHENG-ZHI PENG FEIHU XU AND JIAN-WEI PAN 2020Photonics Research2020,8,9:24
2Comprehensive analysis of NAC transcription factors in diploid Gossypium: sequence conservation and expression analysis uncover their roles during fiber development显示文摘Determining how function evolves following gene duplication is necessary for understanding gene expansion.Transcription factors(TFs)are a class of proteins that regulate gene expression by binding to specific cis-acting elements in the promoters of target genes,subsequently activating or repressing their transcription.In the present study,we systematically examined the functional diversification of the NAC transcription factor(NAC-TFs)family by analyzing their chromosomal location,structure,phylogeny,and expression pattern in Gossypium raimondii(Gr)and G.arboreum(Ga).The 145 and 141 NAC genes identified in the Gr and Ga genomes,respectively,were annotated and divided into 18 subfamilies,which showed distinct divergence in gene structure and expression patterns during fiber development.In addition,when the functional parameters were examined,clear divergence was observed within tandem clusters,which suggested that subfunctionalization had occurred among duplicate genes.The expression patterns of homologous gene pairs also changed,suggestive of the diversification of gene function during the evolution of diploid cotton.These findings provide insights into the mechanisms underlying the functional differentiation of duplicated NAC-TFs genes in two diploid cotton species.Haihong Shang Zhongna Wang Changsong Zou Zhen Zhang Weijie Li Junwen Li Yuzhen Shi Wankui Gong Tingting Chen Aiying Liu Juwu Gong Qun Ge Youlu Yuan 2016Science China(Life Sciences)2016,59,2:12
3Genetic diversity analysis of spawner and recaptured populations of Chinese shrimp(Fenneropenaeus chinensis)during stock enhancement in the Bohai Bay based on an SSR marker显示文摘Eight microsatellite markers were used to analyze genetic diversity, level of inbreeding, and effective population size of spawner and recaptured populations of Chinese shrimp(Fenneropenaeus chinensis) during stock enhancement in the Bohai Bay in 2013. A total of 254 and 238 alleles were identified in the spawner and recaptured populations, respectively, and the numbers of alleles(N_a) were 8–63 and 6–60, respectively. The numbers of effective alleles(N_e) were 2.52–21.60 and 2.67–20.72, respectively. The polymorphism information content ranged from 0.529 to 0.952. The observed heterozygosity(H_o) values(0.638–0.910 and 0.712–0.927) were lower than the expected heterozygosity(H_e) values(0.603–0.954 and 0.625–0.952), which indicated that the two populations possessed a rich genetic diversity. In 16 tests(2 populations×8 loci), 13 tests deviated from the HardyWeinberg equilibrium. F_(is) values were positive at seven loci and the inbreeding coefficients(F) of the two populations estimated by trio ML were 13.234% and 11.603%, suggesting that there was a relatively high degree of inbreeding. A certain level of inbreeding depression had occurred in the Chinese shrimp population. F_(st) values ranged from 0 to 0.059, with a mean of 0.028, displaying a low level of genetic differentiation in the two populations. Effective population sizes(3 060.2 and 3 842.8) were higher than the minimum number suggested for retaining the evolutionary potential to adapt to new environmental conditions. For enhancement activity in 2014,the ideal number of captured shrimp spawners should have ranged from 7 686 to 19 214 to maintain genetic diversity and effective population size. 5SHP2 promotes proliferation of breast cancer cells through regulating Cyclin D1 stabilityviathe PI3K/AKT/GSK3β signaling pathway显示文摘Objective:The tyrosine phosphatase SHP2 has a dual role in cancer initiation and progression in a tissue type-dependent manner.Several studies have linked SHP2 to the aggressive behavior of breast cancer cells and poorer outcomes in people with cancer.Nevertheless,the mechanistic details of how SHP2 promotes breast cancer progression remain largely undefined.Methods:The relationship between SHP2 expression and the prognosis of patients with breast cancer was investigated by using the TCGA and GEO databases.The expression of SHP2 in breast cancer tissues was analyzed by immunohistochemistry.CRISPR/Cas9 technology was used to generate SHP2-knockout breast cancer cells.Cell-counting kit-8,colony formation,cell cycle,and EdU incorporation assays,as well as a tumor xenograft model were used to examine the function of SHP2 in breast cancer proliferation.Quantitative RT-PCR,western blotting,immunofluorescence staining,and ubiquitination assays were used to explore the molecular mechanism through which SHP2 regulates breast cancer proliferation.Results:High SHP2 expression is correlated with poor prognosis in patients with breast cancer.SHP2 is required for the proliferation of breast cancer cellsin vitro and tumor growthin vivo through regulation of Cyclin D1 abundance,thereby accelerating cell cycle progression.Notably,SHP2 modulates the ubiquitin–proteasome-dependent degradation of Cyclin D1viathe PI3K/AKT/GSK3βsignaling pathway.SHP2 knockout attenuates the activation of PI3K/AKT signaling and causes the dephosphorylation and resultant activation of GSK3β.GSK3βthen mediates phosphorylation of Cyclin D1 at threonine 286,thereby promoting the translocation of Cyclin D1 from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and facilitating Cyclin D1 degradation through the ubiquitin–proteasome system.Conclusions:Our study uncovered the mechanism through which SHP2 regulates breast cancer proliferation.SHP2 may therefore potentially serve as a therapeutic target for breast cancer.Yue Yuan Yanling Fan Zicong Gao Xuan Sun He Zhang Zhiyong Wang Yanfen Cui Weijie Song Zhaosong Wang Fei Zhang Ruifang Niu 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3:11

7High-speed flowing plasmas in the Earth’s plasma sheet显示文摘A research topic of great interest to the space physics community is the observation of plasmas flowing at hundreds of kilometers per second in the Earth’s plasma sheet. Although considerable effort has been made to understand the source of fast-flowing plasmas, many questions remain unanswered about the mechanisms that produce high-speed flows and the effects they have on magnetospheric disturbances, especially their contributions to magnetospheric convection and substorms. In this paper, we discuss briefly the history of high-speed flows and review the proposed mechanisms, signatures of high-speed flows in auroras and their interaction with the background plasma. 8Superior mesenteric venous thrombosis after laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer: a report of a rare case and literature review显示文摘Mesenteric venous thrombosis(MVT) is rare, but life-threatening. MVT is often characterized by occult and nonspecific signs and symptoms. Diagnosis requires a high index of clinical suspicion, and emergency surgery is necessary to optimize patient survival, especially in people aged more than 70 years. MVT is a rare but fatal complication after laparoscopic radical surgery for rectal cancer. 9Sirt1-ROS-TRAF6 Signaling-Induced Pyroptosis Contributes to Early Injury in Ischemic Mice显示文摘Stroke is an acute cerebro-vascular disease with high incidence and poor prognosis,most commonly ischemic in nature.In recent years,increasing attention has been paid to inflammatory reactions as symptoms of a stroke.However,the role of inflammation in stroke and its underlying mechanisms require exploration.In this study,we evaluated the inflammatory reactions induced by acute ischemia and found that pyroptosis occurred after acute ischemia both in vivo and in vitro,as determined by interleukin-1β,apoptosis-associated speck-like protein,and caspase-1.The early inflammation resulted in irreversible ischemic injury,indicating that it deserves thorough investigation.Meanwhile,acute ischemia decreased the Sirtuin 1(Sirtl)protein levels,and increased the TRAF6(TNF receptor associated factor 6)protein and reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels.In further exploration,both Sirtl suppression and TRAF6 activation were found to contribute to this pyroptosis.Reduced Sirtl levels were responsible for the production of ROS and increased TRAF6 protein levels after ischemic exposure.Moreover,N-acetyl-L-cysteine,an ROS scavenger,suppressed the TRAF6 accumulation induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation via suppression of ROS bursts.These phenomena indicate that Sirtl is upstream of ROS,and ROS bursts result in increased TRAF6 levels.Further,the activation of Sirtl during the period of ischemia reduced ischemiainduced injury after 72 h of reperfusion in mice with middle cerebral artery occlusion.In sum,these results indicate that pyroptosis-dependent machinery contributes to the neural injury during acute ischemia via the Sirt1-ROS-TRAF6 signaling pathway.We propose that inflammatory reactions occur soon after oxidative stress and are detrimental to neuronal survival;this provides a promising therapeutic target against ischemic injuries such as a stroke.Weijie Yan Wei Sun Jiahui Fan Haiqing Wang Song Han Junfa Li Yanling Yin 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,8:9

11Enhanced Strength and Ductility Due to Microstructure Refinement and Texture Weakening of the GW102K Alloy by Cyclic Extrusion Compression显示文摘The cyclic extrusion compression(CEC) was applied to severely deform the as-extruded GW102K(Mg–10.0Gd–2.0Y–0.5Zr, wt%) alloy at 350, 400, and 450 °C, respectively. The microstructure, texture, and grain boundary character distribution of the CECed alloy were investigated in the present work. The mechanical properties were measured by uniaxial tension at room temperature. The crack initiation on the longitudinal section near the tensile fracture-surface was investigated by high-resolution scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The result shows that the microstructure was dramatically refined by dynamic recrystallization(DRX). The initial fiber texture was disintegrated and obviously weakened. The 8-passes/350 °C CECed alloy exhibited yield strength of 318 MPa with an elongation-to-fracture of 16.8%, increased by 41.3% and 162.5%, respectively. Moreover, the elongation-to-fracture of the 8-passes/450 °C CECed alloy significantly increased more than 3 times than that of the received alloy. The cracks were mainly initiated at twin boundaries and second phase/matrix interfaces during tensile deformation. The microstructure refinement was considered to result in the dramatically enhanced of the strength and ductility. In addition, the texture randomization during CEC is beneficial for enhancing ductility. 12Efficient manipulations of circularly polarized terahertz waves with transmissive metasurfaces显示文摘The unrestricted control of circularly polarized(CP)terahertz(THz)waves is important in science and applications,but conventional THz devices suffer from issues of bulky size and low efficiency.Although Pancharatnam-Berry(PB)metasurfaces have shown strong capabilities to control CP waves,transmission-mode PB devices realized in the THz regime are less efficient,limiting their applications in practice.Here,based on Jones matrix analysis,we design a trilayer structure(thickness of ~λ/5)and experimentally demonstrate that the structure can serve as a highly efficient transmissive meta-atom(relative efficiency of ~90%)to build PB metadevices for manipulating CP THz waves.Two ultrathin THz metadevices are fabricated and experimentally characterized with a z-scan THz imaging system.The first device can realize a photonic spin Hall effect with an experimentally demonstrated relative efficiency of ~90%,whereas the second device can generate a high-quality background-free CP Bessel beam with measured longitudinal and transverse field patterns that exhibit the nondiffracting characteristics of a Bessel beam.All the experimental results are in excellent agreement with full-wave simulations.Our results pave the way to freely manipulate CP THz beams,laying a solid basis for future applications such as biomolecular control and THz signal transportation.Min Jia Zhuo Wang Heting Li Xinke Wang Weijie Luo Shulin Sun Yan Zhang Qiong He Lei Zhou 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:9
13Activation of Rev-erbα attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory reactions in human endometrial stroma cells via suppressing TLR4-regulated NF-κB activation显示文摘Perturbation of the circadian rhythm damages the biological characteristics of cells and leads to their dysfunction. Rev-erbα, an important gene in the transcription-translation loop of circadian rhythm, is involved in regulating the balance between pro-inflammation and anti-inflammation. The disruption of this balance in human endometrial stroma cells (hESCs) destroys their biological behavior function in maintaining the menstrual cycle and embryonic implantation. Whether pharmacological modulation of Rev-erbα affects the inflammation of hESCs remains unclear. In this study, we treated hESCs with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and found that LPS treatment increased the mRNA levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-18, and TNFα, and the secretion of IL-6. SR9009, a Rev-erbα agonist, significantly alleviated the LPS-induced production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in hESCs. Meanwhile, knockdown of Rev-erbα increased the expressions of IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8, accompanied by an increased mRNA level of the core clock gene Bmal1. Western blot analysis showed that SR9009 inhibited the expression of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and the activation of NF-κB induced by LPS. All these findings suggested that pharmacological activation of Rev-erbα attenuated the LPS-induced inflammatory response of hESCs by suppressing TLR4-regulated NF-κB activation. 14Preliminary evidence for the presence of multiple forms of cell death in diabetes cardiomyopathy显示文摘Diabetic mellitus(DM) is a common degenerative chronic metabolic disease often accompanied by severe cardiovascular complications(DCCs) as major causes of death in diabetic patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM) as the most common DCC. The metabolic disturbance in DCM generates the conditions/substrates and inducers/triggers and activates the signaling molecules and death executioners leading to cardiomyocyte death which accelerates the development of DCM and the degeneration of DCM to heart failure.Various forms of programmed active cell death including apoptosis, pyroptosis, autophagic cell death, autosis,necroptosis, ferroptosis and entosis have been identified and characterized in many types of cardiac disease.Evidence has also been obtained for the presence of multiple forms of cell death in DCM. Most importantly,published animal experiments have demonstrated that suppression of cardiomyocyte death of any forms yields tremendous protective effects on DCM. 15Fabrication and characterization of laminated Ti-(TiB + La_2O_3)/Ti composite显示文摘The incorporation of ceramic particulate reinforcements into titanium alloys can improve the specific strength and specific stiffness,while inevitably reduce the plasticity and ductility.In this study,in situ synthesized multilayer Ti-(TiB +La_2O_3)/Ti composite was designed by learning from the microstructure of nature biological materials with excellent mechanical properties.The Ti-(TiB + La_2O_3)/Ti composite with unique characteristic of laminated structure was prepared by combined powder metallurgy and hot rolling.The method has the synthesize advantages with in-situ reaction of Ti and LaB_6 at high temperature and controllability of reinforcements size and constituent phases in composites.The result shows that the pores in the as sintered laminated structure composite completely disappeared after hot rolling at 1050℃.The agglomerated reinforcement particles were well dispersed and distributed uniformly along the rolling direction.The thickness of pure Ti layer and(TiB+La_2O_3)/Ti composite layer decreased from 1 mm to about 200 μm.Meanwhile,the grains size was refined obviously after rolling deformation.The room temperature tensile test indicates that the elongation of the laminated Ti-(TiB + La_2O_3)/Ti composite improved from 13%to 17%in comparison with the uniform(TiB + La_2O_3)/Ti composite,while the tensile strength had little change.It provides theoretical and experimental basis for fabricating the novel high performance laminated Ti-(TiB + La_2O_3)/Ti composites.Yuanfei Han Hongqiang Duan Weijie Lu Liqiang Wang Di Zhang 2015Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2015,25,5:8
16Numerical analysis of broadband noise reduction with wavy leading edge显示文摘Large Eddy Simulation(LES) is performed to investigate the airfoil broadband noise reduction with wavy leading edge under anisotropic incoming turbulence. The anisotropic incoming turbulence is generated by a rod with a diameter of 10 mm. The incoming flow velocity is 40 m/s and the corresponding Reynolds numbers based on airfoil chord and rod diameter are about 397000 and 26000, respectively. The far-field acoustic field is predicted using an acoustic analogy method which has been validated by the experiment. A straight leading edge airfoil and a wavy leading edge airfoil are simulated. The results show that wavy leading edge increases the airfoil lift and drag whereas the lift and drag fluctuations are substantially reduced. In addition, wavy leading edge can significantly change the flow pattern around the leading edge and a pair of counter-rotating streamwise vortices stemming from each wavy leading edge peak are observed.An averaged noise reduction of 9.5 dB is observed with the wavy leading edge at the azimuthal angle of 90°. Moreover, the wavy leading edge can mitigate noise radiation at all the azimuthal angles without significantly changing the noise directivity. 17Measurement of the fluidized velocity in gas-solid fluidized beds based on AE signal analysis by wavelet packet transform显示文摘An energy distribution theory was presented based on regular evolvement of energy fraction of acous-tic signals with fluidization velocity. Wavelet packet analysis was used in processing the acoustic sig-nals originated from particle impact on the wall of a fluidized bed. A new criterion of judging incipient fluidization(Umf) velocity and minimum turbulent velocity(Umt) was proposed according to the energy distribution theory. Experiments were performed with five groups of high density polyethylene(PE) particles and one bimodal PE to acquire incipient fluidization velocity and minimum turbulent velocity by using the criterion. 19Genetic parameter estimation for juvenile growth and upper thermal tolerance in turbot(Scophthalmus maximus Linnaeus)显示文摘Twenty-six half-sib groups(53 full-sib families) of turbot, Scophthalmus maximus Linnaeus, were obtained by artificial insemination. We measured growth in the offspring(40–50 individuals/family) and subjected them to a thermal tolerance challenge over a period of 34 d. There was no significant difference in daily mortality(range: 0.580%–1.391%) between Days 1–13 during the thermal tolerance challenge. However, daily cumulative mortality increased rapidly between Days 14 and 29, especially on Days 15 and 16(20.232% and 34.377%, respectively). Mortality was highest on Day 16(14.145%). We estimated the genetic parameters using the average information restricted maximum likelihood method. We used a likelihood ratio test to evaluate the significance of effects in models with and without identity as an effect, and compared the final log-likelihoods(maximum log L). Lastly, we estimated phenotypic and genetic correlation between the upper thermal tolerance limit(UTT) and body weight(BW). In this study, the positive phenotypic correlation was low between UTT and BW(0.093±0.029). The genetic correlation between UTT and BW was negative(-0.044±0.239). The heritability for upper thermal tolerance was low(0.087±0.032), which is of approximately moderate heritability. The heritability for body weight was high(0.303±0.074). 20Classifying rheumatoid arthritis by Traditional Chinese Medicine Zheng: a multi-center cross-sectional study显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To assess the relationship between disease symptoms and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome (Zheng) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients.METHODS:RA Patients were recruited in Guang'anmen Hospital,China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University,and diagnosed with a particular RA Zheng from their symptoms.Demographic characteristics,self-reported symptoms,and blood samples were collected from patients.All data were input into EpiData and analyzed using SPSS software.RESULTS:The study included 302 RA patients (age range:18-86 years).All patients were Chinese,and 85.1% were women.Cold and fatigue triggers were reported by 8.6% of patients,followed by triggers such as childbirth (4.3%),cold (3.0%),dampness (2.0%),menopause (1.3%),and psychentonia (0.7%).The most prevalent Zheng was dampness and heat blockage (Shire Yuzu in Chinese,SRYZ),diagnosed in 39.4% of patients (119),followed by phlegm and stagnation blockage (Tanyu Bizu,TYBZ) in 21.5%,liver and kidney deficiency (Ganshen Buzu,GSBZ) in 18.5%,dual deficiency of Qi and blood (Qixue Liangxu,QXLX) in 9.6%,cold and dampness blockage (Hanshi Bizu,HSBZ) in 6%,and wind and dampness blockage (Fengshi Bizu,FSBZ) in 5%.Increased length of time since RA diagnosis was associated with the GSBZ group.Patients diagnosed with the SRYZ Zheng had the highest disease activity score.Patients diagnosed with the QXLX Zheng had the lowest blood platelet counts;patients diagnosed with the QXLX and HSBZ Zhengs had lower C-reactive protein levels and lower health assessment questionnaire scores.Patients diagnosed with the GSBZ and QXLX Zhengs had the highest health assessment questionnaire scores.CONCLUSION:The specific Zheng was related to RA characteristics.The findings suggest that eliminating dampness,cooling the patient,and promoting blood circulation may assist in treating severe RA.Wang Weijie Tang Xiaopo Wang Xinchang Jiang Quan Fan Yongsheng 2019Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,3:7
