| 3 | Validation of the Nanjing Criteria for Diagnosing Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids-induced Hepatic Sinusoidal Obstruction Syndrome显示文摘Background and Aims:Hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome(HSOS)is caused by toxic injury to sinusoidal endothelial cells in the liver.The intake of pyrrolizidine alkaloids(PAs)in some Chinese herbal remedies/plants remains the major etiology for HSOS in China.Recently,new diagnostic criteria for PA-induced HSOS(i.e.PA-HSOS)have been developed;however,the efficacy has not been clinically validated.This study aimed to assess the performance of the Nanjing criteria for PA-HSOS.Methods:Data obtained from consecutive patients in multiple hospitals,which included 86 PA-HSOS patients and 327 patients with other liver diseases,were retrospectively analyzed.Then,the diagnostic performance of the Nanjing criteria and simplified Nanjing criteria were evaluated and validated.The study is registered in www.chictr.org.cn(ID:ChiCTR1900020784).Results:The Nanjing criteria have a sensitivity and specificity of 95.35%and 100%,respectively,while the simplified Nanjing criteria have a sensitivity and specificity of 96.51%and 96.33%,respectively,for the diagnosis of PA-HSOS.Notably,a proportion of patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome(11/49)was misdiagnosed as PA-HSOS on the basis of the simplified Nanjing criteria,and this was mainly due to the overlapping features in the enhanced computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging examinations.Furthermore,most of these patients(10/11)had occlusion or thrombosis of the hepatic vein,and communicating vessels in the liver were found in 8/11 patients,which were absent in PA-HSOS patients.Conclusions:The Nanjing criteria and simplified Nanjing criteria exhibit excellent performance in diagnosing PA-HSOS.Thus,both could be valuable diagnostic tools in clinical practice. | Wei Zhang Lu Liu Ming Zhang Feng Zhang Chunyan Peng Bin Zhang Jun Chen Lin Li Jian He Jiangqiang Xiao Yanhong Feng Xunjiang Wang Aizhen Xiong Li Yang Xiaoping Zou Yuecheng Yu Yuzheng Zhuge | 2021 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,3: | 4 |
| 4 | Coral cover as a proxy of disturbance:A case study of the biodiversity of the hermatypic corals in Yongxing Island, Xisha Islands in the South China Sea显示文摘The Yongxing Island is the biggest island of Xisha Islands in the middle part of the South China Sea. It occupies 1.8 square kilometers of land area and has permanent residence on it. There are only a few papers on the coral community of the Xisha Islands, reporting the species composition, structure and zonations of the hermatypic coral community in 1970s. The present study describes the hermatypic coral community based on the quadrat survey after almost 30 years in Yongxing Island in August 2002. It was the first time to present the percent cover data of live corals of Yongxing Island via a systematic scheme of quantitative quadrat sampling. The average total percent cover of the live coral is 68.4%. We found the total percent cover (TPC) could be an idea proxy of the overall disturbance regime impinging on the coral community. TPC can be used as an integrated measure of disturbance to coral reef. Using this surrogate, the best fit relation between TPC of the live corals and species richness, species diversity, or the species evenness is the unimodal second-order polymorphic parabola equation. This result is expected by the intermediate disturbance hypothesis (IDH). From the fitted parabola equations, we calculated the best TPCs corresponding to the maximal species richness, the highest species diversity, or the most evenness respectively. They are surprisingly stabilized between 55% and 58%. Coralcover is the basic parameter widely available for most observation, research or monitoring programs. | 6 | Ge nanoparticles uniformly immobilized on 3D interconnected porous graphene frameworks as anodes for high-performance lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Germanium(Ge), an alloy-type anode material for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs), possesses many advantages such as high theoretical capacity and decent electrical conductivity. Nevertheless, its application is restricted by tremendous volume variation and tardy reaction kinetic during discharge/charge process.In this paper, the Ge/3DPG composites with Ge nanoparticles uniformly dispersed in 3D interconnected porous graphene(3DPG) skeleton are successfully prepared using a template-assisted in-situ reduction method. The unique 3D interconnected porous graphene can not only enhance the electronic conductivity and reaction kinetics of the materials, but also provide sufficient buffer space to effectively mitigate the volume expansion during cycling and strengthen the structural integrity. Moreover, the small-sized Ge nanoparticles in close conjunction with the 3D graphene can boost the surface-controlled reaction of the electrode, which contributes to a fast charge–discharge rate capability. The Ge/3DPG composite with optimized Ge/graphene mass ratio delivers high reversible specific capacity(1102 mAh g^(-1) after 100 cycles at 0.2 C), outstanding rate capability(494 mAh g^(-1) at 5 C), and admirable cycling stability(85.3% of capacity retention after 250 cycles at 0.5 C). | 8 | Built-in piezoelectric field improved photocatalytic performance of nanoflower-like Bi_(2)WO_(6) using low-power white LEDs显示文摘Photocatalysis technology has been proved to be a potential strategy for removal of organic dyes,however high-power light sources are generally necessary to initiate photocatalytic reaction.In this work,we employed an excellent photocatalyst of Bi_(2)WO_(6) with visible light harvest and meanwhile an intrinsic ferroelectricity,which realized the efficient degradation of organic dye via the synergetic photopiezocatalysis.Through coupling the illumination by a low-power(9 W)LED and the ultrasonic vibration(120 W)by an ultrasonic cleaner,the nano flower-like Bi_(2)WO_(6) composed of ultrathin nanosheets showed a much more enhanced photopiezocatalysis performance for purification of organic dye than the individual photocatalysis and piezocatalysis.Furthermore,the high mineralization efficiency and the good durability of the Bi_(2)WO_(6) catalyst were demonstrated.The possible mechanism of photopiezocatalysis was finally proposed,where the ultrasound-induced piezoelectric field in Bi_(2)WO_(6) drove photo-generated electrons and holes to diffuse along opposite directions,consequently promoting the separation efficiency of charge carriers.This work indicates that the synergetic photopiezocatalysis by coupling irradiation and ultrasonic vibration is a promising strategy to purify organic pollutants in wastewater. | Hua Lei Meixuan Wu Ying Liu Fan Mo Jiayao Chen Shilong Ji Yan Zou Xiaoping Dong | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,7: | 2 |
| 9 | Correlation between cold and hot pattern in traditional Chinese medicine and gene expression profiles in rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘Clinical manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis(RA)are diversified,and based on the manifestations,the patients with RA could be classified into different patterns under traditional Chinese medicine.These patterns decide the selection of herbal prescription,and thus they can help find a subset of rheumatoid arthritis patients for a type of therapy.In the present study,we combine genome-wide expression analysis with methods of systems biology to identify the functional gene networks for the sets of clinical symptoms that comprise the major information for pattern classification.Clinical manifestations in rheumatoid arthritis were clustered with factor analysis,and two factors(similar to cold and hot patterns in traditional Chinese medicine)were found.Microarray technology was used to reveal gene expression profiles in CD4^(+)T cells from 21 rheumatoid arthritis patients.Protein-protein interaction information for these genes from databases and literature data was searched.The highly-connected regions were detected to infer significant complexes or pathways in this protein-protein interaction network.The significant pathways and function were extracted from these subnetworks using the Biological Network Gene Ontology tool.The genes significantly related to hot and cold patterns were identified by correlations analysis.MAPK signalling pathway,Wnt signaling pathway,and insulin signaling pathway were found to be related to hot pattern.Purine metabolism was related to both hot and cold patterns.Alanine,aspartate,and tyrosine metabolism were related to cold pattern,and histindine metabolism and lysine degradation were related to hot pattern.The results suggest that cold and hot patterns in traditional Chinese medicine were related to different pathways,and the network analysis might be used for identifying the pattern classification in other diseases. | Miao Jiang Cheng Xiao Gao Chen Cheng Lu Qinglin Zha Xiaoping Yan Weiping Kong Shijie Xu Dahong Ju Pu Xu Youwen Zou Aiping Lu | 2011 | Frontiers of Medicine2011,5,2: | 2 |

| 16 | Energetic electron detection packages on board Chinese navigation satellites in MEO显示文摘Energetic electron measurements and spacecraft charging are of great significance for theoretical research in space physics and space weather applications.In this paper,the energetic electron detection package(EEDP)deployed on three Chinese navigation satellites in medium Earth orbit(MEO)is reviewed.The instrument was developed by the space science payload team led by Peking University.The EEDP includes a pinhole medium-energy electron spectrometer(MES),a high-energy electron detector(HED)based onΔE-E telescope technology,and a deep dielectric charging monitor(DDCM).The MES measures the energy spectra of 50−600 keV electrons from nine directions with a 180°×30°field of view(FOV).The HED measures the energy spectrum of 0.5−3.0 MeV electrons from one direction with a 30°cone-angle FOV.The ground test and calibration results indicate that these three sensors exhibit excellent performance.Preliminary observations show that the electron spectra measured by the MES and HED are in good agreement with the results from the magnetic electron-ion spectrometer(MagEIS)of the Van Allen Probes spacecraft,with an average relative deviation of 27.3%for the energy spectra.The charging currents and voltages measured by the DDCM during storms are consistent with the highenergy electron observations of the HED,demonstrating the effectiveness of the DDCM.The observations of the EEDP on board the three MEO satellites can provide important support for theoretical research on the radiation belts and the applications related to space weather. | YuGuang Ye Hong Zou Qiu-Gang Zong HongFei Chen JiQing Zou WeiHong Shi XiangQian Yu WeiYing Zhong YongFu Wang YiXin Hao ZhiYang Liu XiangHong Jia Bo Wang XiaoPing Yang XiaoYun Hao | 2021 | Earth and Planetary Physics2021,5,2: | 1 |
