| 1 | Age-related rhesus macaque models of COVID-19显示文摘Background:Since December 2019,an outbreak of the Corona Virus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)in Wuhan,China,has become a public health emergency of international concern.The high fatality of aged cases caused by SARS-CoV-2 was a need to explore the possible age-related phenomena with non-human primate models.Methods:Three 3-5 years old and two 15 years old rhesus macaques were intratracheally infected with SARS-CoV-2,and then analyzed by clinical signs,viral replication,chest X-ray,histopathological changes and immune response.Results:Viral replication of nasopharyngeal swabs,anal swabs and lung in old monkeys was more active than that in young monkeys for 14 days after SARS-CoV-2 challenge.Monkeys developed typical interstitial pneumonia characterized by thickened alveolar septum accompanied with inflammation and edema,notably,old monkeys exhibited diffuse severe interstitial pneumonia.Viral antigens were detected mainly in alveolar epithelial cells and macrophages.Conclusion:SARS-CoV-2 caused more severe interstitial pneumonia in old monkeys than that in young monkeys.Rhesus macaque models infected with SARS-CoV-2 provided insight into the pathogenic mechanism and facilitated the development of vaccines and therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2 infection. | Pin Yu Feifei Qi Yanfeng Xu Fengdi Li Peipei Liu Jiayi Liu Linlin Bao Wei Deng Hong Gao Zhiguang Xiang Chong Xiao Qi Lv Shuran Gong Jiangning Liu Zhiqi Song Yajin Qu Jing Xue Qiang Wei Mingya Liu Guanpeng Wang Shunyi Wang Haisheng Yu Xing Liu Baoying Huang Wenling Wang Li Zhao Huijuan Wang Fei Ye Weimin Zhou Wei Zhen Jun Han Guizhen Wu Qi Jin Jianwei Wang Wenjie Tan Chuan Qin | 2020 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2020,3,1: | 22 |

| 3 | Newborn screening with targeted sequencing:a multicenter investigation and a pilot clinical study in China显示文摘Different newborn screening(NBS) programs have been practiced in many countries since the 1960 s. It is of considerable interest whether next-generation sequencing is applicable in NBS. We have developed a panel of 465 causative genes for 596 early-onset, relatively high incidence, and potentially actionable severe inherited diseases in our Newborn Screening with Targeted Sequencing(NESTS) program to screen 11,484 babies in 8 Women and Children’s hospitals nationwide in China retrospectively. The positive rate from preliminary screening of NESTS was 7.85%(902/11,484). With 45.89%(414/902) follow-up of preliminary positive cases, the overall clinically confirmative diagnosis rate of monogenic disorders was 12.07%(50/414), estimating an average of 0.95%(7.85% × 12.07%) clinical diagnosis rate, suggesting that monogenic disorders account for a considerable proportion of birth defects. The disease/gene spectrum varied in different regions of China. NESTS was implemented in a hospital by screening 3923 newborns to evaluate its clinical application. The turn-around time of a primary report, including the sequencing period of < 7 days, was within 11 days by our automatic interpretation pipeline. | 4 | Stability analysis and optimization of excavation method of double-arch tunnel with an extra-large span based on numerical investigation显示文摘The Xiamen Haicang double-arch tunnel has a maximum span of 45.73 m and a minimum burial depth of 5.8 m.A larger deformation or collapse of the tunnel is readily encountered during tunnel excavation.It is therefore necessary to select a construction approach that is suitable for double-arch tunnel projects with an extra-large span.In this study,three construction methods for double-arch tunnels with extra-large spans were numerically simulated.Subsequently,the deformation behavior and stress characteristics of the surrounding rock were obtained and compared.The results showed that the double-side-drift method with temporary vertical support achieves better adaptability in the construction of such tunnels,which can be observed from both the numerical results and in situ monitoring data.In addition,the improved temporary support plays a critical role in controlling the surrounding rock deformation.In addition,the disturbance resulting from the excavation of adjacent drifts was obvious,particularly the disturbance of the surrounding rock caused by the excavation of the middle drift.The present findings can serve as the initial guidelines for the construction of ultra-shallowly buried double-arch tunnels with extra-large spans. | Yiguo XUE Huimin GONG Fanmeng KONG Weimin YANG Daohong QIU Binghua ZHOU | 2021 | Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2021,15,1: | 4 |

| 6 | Updating preconditioner for iterative method in time domain simulation of power systems显示文摘The numerical solution of the differential-algebraic equations(DAEs) involved in time domain simulation(TDS) of power systems requires the solution of a sequence of large scale and sparse linear systems.The use of iterative methods such as the Krylov subspace method is imperative for the solution of these large and sparse linear systems.The motivation of the present work is to develop a new algorithm to efficiently precondition the whole sequence of linear systems involved in TDS.As an improvement of dishonest preconditioner(DP) strategy,updating preconditioner strategy(UP) is introduced to the field of TDS for the first time.The idea of updating preconditioner strategy is based on the fact that the matrices in sequence of the linearized systems are continuous and there is only a slight difference between two consecutive matrices.In order to make the linear system sequence in TDS suitable for UP strategy,a matrix transformation is applied to form a new linear sequence with a good shape for preconditioner updating.The algorithm proposed in this paper has been tested with 4 cases from real-life power systems in China.Results show that the proposed UP algorithm efficiently preconditions the sequence of linear systems and reduces 9%-61% the iteration count of the GMRES when compared with the DP method in all test cases.Numerical experiments also show the effectiveness of UP when combined with simple preconditioner reconstruction strategies. | WANG Ke XUE Wei LIN HaiXiang XU ShiMing ZHENG WeiMin | 2011 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,4: | 3 |
| 7 | Proteomic analysis of blast-resistant near-isogenic lines derived from japonica rice, var.
