1Mesozoic-Cenozoic Multi-Stage Intraplate Deformation Events in the Langshan Region and their Tectonic Implications显示文摘In the Langshan region, northwestern China, marked multi-stage intraplate deformation events have occurred since the Mesozoic, including(1) northeast-striking ductile left-lateral strike slip during the Middle-Late Triassic, which is closely related to the collision between the North China and the Yangtze plates;(2) top-to-the-southeast thrust with northwest-southeast trending maximum compression during the Late Jurassic;(3) nearly eastward detachment during the Early Cretaceous;(4) top-to-the-northwest thrust with northwest-southeast trending maximum compression during the Late Cretaceous and Early Cenozoic;(5) northeast-striking brittle left-lateral strike slip with nearly north-south trending maximum compression; and(6) northwest-southeast extension during the Middle-Late Cenozoic. All these deformation events belong to the intraplate deformation across the entire Central Asian region and respond to the tectonic events along the plate boundaries or deep tectonics. The structures developed in early events in the crust were the most important factors controlling the later deformation styles, and few new structures have later developed. Based on previous research and our results, the paleostress inversion in the Langshan region shows that the Mesozoic intraplate deformations in the study region mainly resulted from the tectonic events from the Paleo-Pacific region and have no or a weak relation to the Tethys region. During the Late Jurassic, the maximum compression from the Mongolia-Okhotsk region cannot be excluded. 2Effect of proteolytic starter culture isolated from Chinese Dong fermented pork(Nanx Wudl)on microbiological,biochemical and organoleptic attributes in dry fermented sausages显示文摘The effect of a proteolytic starter culture isolated from Nanx Wudl,on microbiological,biochemical and organoleptic attributes of dry fermented sausages was investigated during processing.Based on preliminary screening,the combination of Staphylococcus xylosus SX16 and Lactobacillus plantarum CMRC6,showing excellent proteolytic activity in vitro,was selected as the multi-strain starter(starter LS).For comparison,the single-strain starter culture of L.plantarum CMRC6(starter LB)and non-inoculated control were also tested.During fermentation,lactic acid bacteria and staphylococci dominated the microbiota and suppressed the Enterobacteriaceae growth in LS-inoculated sausages.The addition of LS starter accelerated acidification and proteolysis during ripening,improving the contents of total free amino acids and several essential free amino acids(Phe,Ile and Leu).Volatile compounds analysis revealed that LS-fermented sausage showed the highest abundance of 3-methyl-1-butanol,probably due to the inoculated S.xylosus.The inoculation of LS starter improved the sensory properties of sausages,especially the flavor attribute.Therefore,S.xylosus SX16 and L.plantarum CMRC6 are promising candidates for inclusion as multi-strain starters in the manufacture of gourmet fermented dry sausage.Xi Chen Ruifang Mi Biao Qi Suyue Xiong Jiapeng Li Chao Qu Xiaoling Qiao Wenhua Chen Shouwei Wang 2021Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,1:9
3Non-covalently Functionalized Graphene Oxide-Based Coating to Enhance Thermal Stability and Flame Retardancy of PVA Film显示文摘The synergistic effect of conventional flame-retardant elements and graphene has received extensive attention in the development of a new class of flame retardants. Compared to covalent modification, the noncovalent strategy is simpler and expeditious and entirely preserves the original quality of graphene. Thus, non-covalently functionalized graphene oxide(FGO) with a phosphorus–nitrogen compound was successfully prepared via a one-pot process in this study. Polyethyleneimine and FGO were alternatively deposited on the surface of a poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) film via layer-by-layer assembly driven by electrostatic interaction, imparting excellent flame retardancy to the coated PVA film. The multilayer FGO-based coating formed a protective shield encapsulating the PVA matrix, effectively blocking the transfer of heat and mass during combustion. The coated PVA has a higher initial decomposition temperature of about 260 °C and a nearly 60% reduction in total heat release than neat PVA does. 4Effect of burden and origin sites of premature ventricular contractions on left ventricular function by 7-day Holter monitor显示文摘Recent studies have shown that premature ventricular contractions(PVCs) could enlarge the heart,but its risk factors are incompletely understood as a single 24-hour recording cannot reflect the true PVC burden due to day-to-day variability.Our purpose was to investigate the effect of burden and origin sites on left ventricular(LV) function in patients with PVCs by 7-day Holter electrocardiography(ECG).From May 2012 to August2013,112 consecutive patients with PVCs were recruited from the authors' affiliated hospital.All patients received2-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography,12-lead routing ECG and 7-days Holter ECG.Serum N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) levels were measured.A total of 102 participants with PVCs were included in the final analysis.Origin of PVCs from the tricuspid annulus had the highest burden and NT-proBNP level.LV papillary muscle had a higher LV ejection fraction(EF) level and a lower LV end-systolic dimension(ESD) than other PVC foci(P<0.05).The high burden group had a higher LV end-diastolic dimension(EDD) and LVESD but lower LVEF than the other two groups(P<0.05).Female,older age,physical work,and history of PVCs had a significantly positive correlation with symptoms.Male,older age,physical work,and high burden were positive predictors of enlarged LVEDD,LVESD and higher serum NT-proBNP level,but lower LVEF.Seven-day dynamic ECG Holter monitor showed the true PVC burden on patients with PVCs.PVCs with a lower burden or origin from the LV papillary muscle and the fascicle were relatively benign,while PVCs with a higher burden or origin from the tricuspid annulus may lead to cardiac dysfunction.Wenhua Xu Mingfang Li Minglong Chen Bing Yang Daowu Wang Xiangqing Kong Hongwu Chen Weizhu Ju Kai Gu Kejiang Cao Hailei Liu Qi Jiang Jiaojiao Shi Yan Cui Hong Wang 2015The Journal of Biomedical Research2015,29,6:4
5Comparison of two methods for detection of fecal indicator bacteria used in water quality monitoring of the Three Gorges Reservoir显示文摘Scientifically sound methods to rapidly measure fecal indicator bacteria are important to ensure safe water for drinking and recreational purposes.A total of 200 water samples obtained from the Three Gorges Reservoir during three successive one-year study periods(October 2009 to September 2012) were analyzed using multiple-tube fermentation(MTF)and most probable numbers combined with polymerase chain reaction(MPN–PCR).The MPN–PCR method was found to be significantly more sensitive than the MTF method for detecting Escherichia coli and Enterococcus spp.,and of equal sensitivity for detecting total coliforms when all surface water samples were grouped together.The two analytical methods had a strong,significant relationship,but MPN–PCR took only 12–18 hr,compared with the 3–8 days needed using the MTF method.Bacterial concentrations varied per sampling site but were significantly lower in the mainstream of the Yangtze River than those in the backwater areas of tributaries.The water quality of 85.8% of water samples from the mainstream was suitable for use as a centralized potable water source,while the water quality of 52.5% of water samples from the backwater areas was unsuitable for recreational activities.Relationships between fecal indicator bacteria showed significant correlation(r = 0.636–0.909,p < 0.01,n = 200),while a weak but significant correlation was found between fecal indicators and water turbidity,water temperature,daily inflow,and total dissolved solids(r = 0.237–0.532,p < 0.05,n = 200).The study indicated that MPN–PCR is a rapid and easily performed deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA)-based method for quantitative detection of viable total coliforms,E.coli,and Enterococcus spp.in surface water.Zhaodan Wang Guosheng Xiao Nong Zhou Wenhua Qi Lin Han Yu Ruan Dongqin Guo Hong Zhou 2015Journal of Environmental Sciences2015,27,12:4
6Predominant yeasts in Chinese Dong fermented pork(Nanx Wudl)and their aroma-producing properties in fermented sausage condition显示文摘Yeasts are one of the predominant microbial groups in fermented meats.In this study,yeast communities of Chinese Dong fermented pork(Nanx Wudl)were investigated and the technological properties of 73 yeast isolates were evaluated.Through culture-dependent and high-throughput sequencing methods,the main yeast species identified included Pichia membranifaciens,Kazachstania bulderi,Millerozyma farinosa,Candida zeylanoides,Kazachstania exigua,Candida parapsilosis and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.Among these yeasts,P.membranifaciens,M.farinosa,K.exigua and K.bulderi were detected in fermented meats for the first time.A total of 73 yeast isolates was investigated for their lipolytic and proteolytic activities.All yeast species showed lipolytic activity,while proteolytic activity against meat protein was only detected in S.cerevisiae.Assay of aroma-producing potential was performed in a model simulating fermented sausage condition.Inoculation of yeast strains increased volatiles production,especially esters and alcohols.The highest ester production was observed in S.cerevisiae Y70 strain,followed by K.exigua Y12 and K.bulderi Y19.C.zeylanoides Y10 and S.cerevisiae Y70 were the highest producers of benzeneethanol and 3-methyl-1-butanol.S.cerevisiae Y70 with its highest production of branched alcohols and esters could be a promising candidate as aroma enhancer in the manufacture of fermented sausages.Ruifang Mi Xi Chen Suyue Xiong Biao Qi Jiapeng Li Xiaoling Qiao Wenhua Chen Chao Qu Shouwei Wang 2021Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,2:3
7Fabrication of electrochemically-modified BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)composite film for bisphenol A degradation显示文摘A new electrochemically-modified BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)(represented as E-BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4))thin film electrode was successfully synthesized for environmental application.MoS_(2)and Co_(3)O_(4)were grown on the surface of Bi VO 4 to obtain BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4).E-BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)film was achieved by further electrochemical treatment of BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4).The asprepared E-BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)exhibited significantly enhanced photoelectrocatalytic activity.The photocurrent density of E-BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)thin film is 6.6 times that of Bi VO 4 under visible light irradiation.The degradation efficiency of E-BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)for bisphenol A pollutant was 81.56%in photoelectrochemical process.The pseudo-first order reaction rate constant of E-BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)film is 3.22 times higher than that of Bi VO 4.And its reaction rate constant in photoelectrocatalytic process is 14.5 times or 2 times that in photocatalytic or electrocatalytic process,respectively.The improved performance of E-BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)was attributed to the synergetic effects of the reduction of interfacial charge transfer resistance,the formation of oxygen vacancies and sub-stoichiometric metal oxides and higher separation efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs.E-BiVO_(4)-MoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)is a promising composite material for pollutants removal.Yanqing Cong Wenhua Zhang Wenchen Ding Tongtong Zhang Yi Zhang Nianping Chi Qi Wang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:2
8Ultrahigh rate capability of 1D/2D polyaniline/titanium carbide(MXene)nanohybrid for advanced asymmetric supercapacitors显示文摘High energy density and enhanced rate capability are highly sought-after for supercapacitors in today's mobile world.In this work,polyaniline/titanium carbide(MXene)(PANI/Ti3C2Tx)nanohybrid is synthesized through a facile and cost-effective self-assembly of.one-dimensional(10)PANI nanofibers and two-dimensional(20)Ti3C2Tx nanosheets.PANl!Ti3C2Tx delivers greatly improved specific capacitance,ultrahigh rate capability(67%capacitance retention from 1 to 100 A·g^(-1))as well as good cycle stability.Electrochemical kinetic analysis reveals that PANI/Ti3C2Tx is featured with surface capacitance-dominated process and has a quasi-reversible kinetics at high scan rates,giving rise to an ultrahigh rate capability.By using PANl!Ti3C2Tx as positive electrode,an 1.8 V aqueous asymmetric supercapacitor(ASC)is successfully assembled,showing a maximum energy density of 50.8 Wh·kg^(-1)·(at 0.9 kW-kg-1)and a power density of 18 kW·kg^(-1)(at 26 Wh·kg^(-1)).Moreover,an 3.0 V organic ASC is also elaborately fabricated,·by using PANI/Ti3C2Tx,achieving an ultrahigh energy density of 67.2 Wh·kg^(-1)(at 1.5 kW·kg^(-1))and a power density of 30 kW·kg^(-1)·(at 26.8 Wh·kg^(-1)).The present work not only improves fundamental understanding of the structure-property relationship towards ultrahigh rate capability electrode materials,but also provides valuable guideline for the rational design of high-performance:energy storage devices with both high energy and power densities.Jinhua Zhou Qi Kang Shuchi Xu Xiaoge Li Cong Liu Lu Ni Ningna Chen Chunliang Lu Xizhang Wang Luming Peng Xuefeng Guo Weiping Ding Wenhua Hou 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:2
9Applications of multislice CT angiography in the surgical clipping and endovascular coiling of intracranial aneurysms显示文摘Prompt diagnosis and therapy of aneurysms are critical for patients with nontraumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).The aim of our study was to assess the clinical usefulness of multislice computed tomography angiography (CTA) in the surgical and endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms.A total of 195 cases with 206 intracranial aneurysms underwent CTA.Fifty (24%) aneurysms underwent surgical clipping while 156 (76%) aneurysms underwent endovascular coiling.In the five missed aneurysms at digital substraction angiography and the nine aneurysms with mass intracerebral hematomas,surgical treatment was successfully performed based on 16-slice CTA alone,and the other 36 aneurysms were clipped on the main basis of the CTA.The intraoperative findings correlated well with the CTA findings and all aneurysms were clipped successfully.Sixteen-slice CTA image information has been shown to determine the choice of aneurysm therapy and assist the surgical and endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms.Wenhua Chen Yilin Yang Wei Xing Ya Peng Jianguo Qiu Zhongming He Qi Wang 2010The Journal of Biomedical Research2010,24,6:2
10Increased plasma leptin as a novel predictor for psychopathological depressive symptoms in chronic schizophrenia显示文摘Background Depressive symptoms are often seen in schizophrenia. The overlap in presentation makes it difficult to distinguish depressive symptoms from the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. The adipokine leptin was found to be altered in both depression and schizophrenia. There are few studies focusing on the prediction of leptin in diagnosis and evaluation of depressive symptoms in schizophrenia.ObjectiveAims To assess the plasma leptin level in patients with schizophrenia and its relationships with depressive symptoms.Methods Cross-sectional studies were applied to(1) compare the levels of plasma leptin between schizophrenia(n=74) and healthy controls(n=50); and(2)investigate the relationship between plasma leptin levels and depressive subscores.Results(1) Plasma leptin levels were significantly higher in patients with schizophrenia than in healthy controls.(2) Correlation analysis revealed a significant negative association between leptin levels and the depressed factor scores on the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS).(3) Stepwise multiple regression analyses identified leptin as an influencing factor for depressed factor score on PANSS.Conclusion Leptin may serve as a predictor for the depressive symptoms of chronic schizophrenia.Jinjie Xu Yumei Jiao Mengjuan Xing Yezhe Lin Yousong Su Wenhua Ding Cuizhen Zhu Yanmin Peng Dake Qi Donghong Cui 2018General Psychiatry2018,31,6:1

15Identifying RNA Modifications by Direct RNA Sequencing Reveals Complexity of Epitranscriptomic Dynamics in Rice显示文摘Transcriptome analysis based on high-throughput sequencing of a cDNA library has been widely applied to functional genomic studies.However,the cDNA dependence of most RNA sequencing techniques constrains their ability to detect base modifications on RNA,which is an important element for the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression.To comprehensively profile the N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)and N^(5)-methylcytosine(m5 C)modifications on RNA,direct RNA sequencing(DRS)using the latest Oxford Nanopore Technology was applied to analyze the transcriptome of six tissues in rice.Approximately 94 million reads were generated,with an average length ranging from 619 nt to 1013 nt,and a total of 45,707 transcripts across 34,763 genes were detected.Expression profiles of transcripts at the isoform level were quantified among tissues.Transcriptome-wide mapping of m^(6)A and m5 C demonstrated that both modifications exhibited tissue-specific characteristics.The transcripts with m^(6)A modifications tended to be modified by m5 C,and the transcripts with modifications presented higher expression levels along with shorter poly(A)tails than transcripts without modifications,suggesting the complexity of gene expression regulation.Gene Ontology analysis demonstrated that m^(6)A-and m5 C-modified transcripts were involved in central metabolic pathways related to the life cycle,with modifications on the target genes selected in a tissue-specific manner.Furthermore,most modified sites were located within quantitative trait loci that control important agronomic traits,highlighting the value of cloning functional loci.The results provide new insights into the expression regulation complexity and data resource of the transcriptome and epitranscriptome,improving our understanding of the rice genome.Feng Yu Huanhuan Qi Li Gao Sen Luo Rebecca Njeri Damaris Yinggen Ke Wenhua Wu Pingfang Yang 2023Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,4:1
16Exhumation History of the Xining Basin Since the Mesozoic and Its Tectonic Significance显示文摘The Xining Basin is located in the northeastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau, and its continuous Cenozoic strata record the entire uplift and outgrowth history of the Tibetan Plateau during the Cenozoic. The newly obtained apatite fission track data presented here shows that the Xining Basin and two marginal mountain ranges have experienced multiphase rapid cooling since the Jurassic, as follows. In the Middle–Late Jurassic, the rapid exhumation of the former Xining Basin resulted from collision between the Qiangtang Block and the Tarim Block. During the Early–Late Cretaceous, the former Xining Basin underwent a tectonic event due to marginal compression, causing the angular unconformity between the Upper and Lower Cretaceous. In the Late Cretaceous to the Early Cenozoic, collision between the Qiangtang Block and the Lhasa Block may have resulted in the rapid exhumation of the Xining Basin and the Lajishan to the south. In the Early Cenozoic(ca. 50–30 Ma), collision between the Indian and Eurasia plates affected the region that corresponds to the present northeastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau. During this period, the central Qilian Block rotated clockwise by approximately 24° to form a wedge-shaped basin(i.e., the Xining Basin) opening to the west. During ca. 17–8 Ma, the entire northeastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau underwent dramatic deformation, and the Lajishan uplifted rapidly owing to the northward compression of the Guide Basin from the south. 18Au atoms doped in Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene:Benefiting recovery of oxygen vacancies towards photocatalytic aerobic oxidation显示文摘Photocatalytic aerobic oxidation by using oxygen molecules(O_(2))as green and low-cost oxidants is of great attraction,where the introduction of irradiation has been proved as an efficient strategy to lower reaction temperature as well as promote catalytic performance.Moreover,the oxygen vacancies(OVs)of catalyst are highly active sites to adsorb and activate O_(2)during photocatalytic aerobic oxidation.However,OVs are easily blocked by oxygen atoms from active oxygen species during the catalytic process,leading to the deactivation of catalysis.Herein,a promising catalyst toward photocatalytic aerobic oxidation was successfully developed by recovering the OVs through doping Au atoms into Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene(Au/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)).Impressively,Au/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)exhibited remarkable activity under full-spectrum irradiation towards photooxidation of methyl phenyl sulfide(MPS)and methylene blue(MB),attaining a conversion of>90%at room temperature.Moreover,Au/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)also manifested remarkable stability by maintaining>95%initial activity after 10 successive reaction rounds.Further mechanistic studies indicated that the OVs of Au/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)served as the active centers to efficiently adsorb and activate O_(2).More importantly,the doped Au atoms of Au/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)were conducive to the recovery of OVs during photocatalytic process from the results of theoretical and experimental aspects.The recovered OVs of Au/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)continuously and efficiently activated O_(2),directly contributing to the remarkable catalytic activity and stability.Kaifu Yu Sanmei Wang Qi Li Tingting Hou Yue Xin Rong He Wenhua Zhang Shuquan Liang Liangbing Wang Wenkun Zhu 2022Nano Research2022,15,4:1
19Single-atom Fe Embedded Co_(3)S_(4) for Efficient Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution Reaction显示文摘Constructing atomically dispersed active sites with densely exposed and dispersed double metal-Sx catalytic sites for favorable OER catalytic activity remains rare and challenging.Herein,we design and construct a Fe_(1)S_(x)@Co_(3)S_(4) electrocatalyst with Fe single atoms epitaxially confined in Co_(3)S_(4) nanosheets for catalyzing the sluggish alkaline oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Consequently,in ultralow concentration alkaline solutions(0.1 mol/L KOH),such a catalyst is highly active and robust for OER with low overpotentials of 300 and 333 mV at current densities of 10 and 30 mA/cm^(2),respectively,accompanying long-term stability without significant degradation even for 350 h.In addition,Fe_(1)S_(x)@Co_(3)S_(4) shows a turnover frequency(TOF)value of 0.18 s−1,nearly three times that of Co_(3)S_(4)(0.07 s−1),suggesting the higher atomic utilization of Fe single atoms.Mössbauer and in-situ Raman spectra confirm that the OER activity of Fe_(1)S_(x)@Co_(3)S_(4) origins from a thin catalytic layer of Co(Fe)OOH that interacts with trace-level Fe species in the electrolyte,creating dynamically stable active sites.Combined with experimental characterizations,it suggests that the most active S-coordinated dual-metal site configurations are 2S-bridged(Fe-Co)S4,in which Co-S and Fe-S moieties are shared with two S atoms,which can strongly regulate the adsorption energy of reaction intermediates,accelerating the OER reaction kinetics.QI Yuxue LI Tingting HU Yajie XIANG Jiahong SHAO Wenqian CHEN Wenhua MU Xueqin LIU Suli CHEN Changyun YU Min MU Shichun 2022Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2022,38,5:0
20Research on organic matters in the drinking water of Kaschin-Beck disease area显示文摘Organic matters in drinking water of Kaschin-Beck disease areas were extracted. Then analyses and characterization were performed by means of multiply chemical and physical methods. The results did not show the obvious difference in the frame structure of humic substances and the structure of rmcromolecular compounds in the drinking water of disease and non-disease areas, but the difference in the contents of some micromolecular compounds and radicals.
