1Coprinus comatus-derived nitrogen-containing biocarbon electrocatalyst with the addition of self-generating graphene-like support for superior oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘The development of nitrogen-rich biomassderived carbon catalysts provides an attractive perspective to substitute for Pt-based electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR). We here report a facile strategy for synthesis of a nitrogen-doped biocarbon/graphene-like composite electrocatalyst by pyrolyzing a solid-state mixture of coprinus comatus biomass and melamine under nitrogen protection. The graphtic carbon nitride formed by polycondensation of melamine at 600 °C acts as a selfsacrificing template to generate the nitrogen-doped graphene-like sheet, which can function as an inserting agent and self-generating support. The composite catalyst exhibits the most promising catalytic activity towards the fourelectron ORR with a half-wave potential of around 0.83 V(vs. RHE), and more excellent stability and tolerance to methanol/ethanol compared to the commercial Pt/C catalyst. It is interestingly found that both a higher content of nitrogen and a larger ratio of graphitic-nitrogen species,which may derive from self-addition of graphene-like support into the catalyst, can effectively improve the electrocatalytic activity. The planar N group may be the nitrogen functionality that is most responsible for maintaining the ORR activity in alkaline medium. 5Epstein-Barr virus DNA loads in the peripheral blood cells predict the survival of locoregionally-advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients显示文摘Objective:Circulating cell-free Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)DNA has been shown to be a valuable biomarker for population screening and prognostic surveillance for nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Despite important insights into the biology of persistence,few studies have addressed the clinical significance of cell-based EBV-DNA loads in peripheral blood cells(PBCs).Methods:A prospective observational cohort study was conducted involving 1,063 newly diagnosed,locoregionally-advanced NPC patients at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from 2005 to 2007.Cox regression analysis was conducted to identify the association of PBC EBV DNA loads to overall survival(OS)and other prognostic outcomes.Prognostic nomograms were developed based on PBC EBV DNA loads to predict survival outcomes for NPC patients.Results:After a median follow-up of 108 months,patients with higher PBC EBV-DNA loads had significantly worse OS[hazard ratio(HR)of medium,medium-high,and high vs.low were 1.50,1.52,and 1.85 respectively;Ptrend<0.001].Similar results were found for progression-free survival and distant metastasis-free survival.The concordance index of the prognostic nomogram for predicting OS in the training set and validation set were 0.70 and 0.66,respectively.Our data showed that the PBC EBV DNA load was an independent and robust survival biomarker,which remained significant even after adjusting for plasma EBV DNA loads in a subset of 205 patients of the cohort(HR:1.88;P=0.025).Importantly,a combination of PBC EBV DNA load and plasma EBV DNA load improved the predicted OS.Conclusions:The EBV-DNA load in PBCs may be an independent prognosis marker for NPC patients.Yongqiao He Dawei Yang Ting Zhou Wenqiong Xue Jiangbo Zhang Fangfang Li Fang Wang Tongmin Wang Ziyi Wu Ying Liao Meiqi Zheng Changmi Deng Danhua Li Yijing Jia Leilei Yuan Wenli Zhang Weihua Jia 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,3:0
6Evolution of GCGR family ligand-receptor extensive cross-interaction systems suggests a therapeutic direction for hyperglycemia in mammals显示文摘Glucose is essential to the physiological processes of vertebrates.Mammalian physiological stability requires a relatively stable blood glucose level(~5 mM),whereas other vertebrates have greater flexibility in regulating blood glucose(0.5–25 mM).GCGR family receptors play an important role in vertebrate glucose regulation.Here,we examine the evolution of the GCGR family ligand-receptor systems in different species.Comparatively,we discover that the conserved sequences among GCG family ligands lead to the non-specific activation of ligands across species.In particular,we observe that glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor(GLP1R),glucagon-like peptide 2 receptor(GLP2R),and glucagon-like receptor(GCGLR,also called GCRPR)are arbitrarily activated by other members of the ligand family in birds.Moreover,we reveal that Gallus gallus GLP2(gGLP2)effectively activates mammalian GLP1R and improves glucose tolerance in diabetic mice.Our study has important implications for understanding blood glucose stabilization in vertebrates and demonstrates that gGLP2 may be a potential drug for treating type 2 diabetes.Jian Liu Xue Wang Wenli Zhang Guangneng Liao Zhenhua Shao Juergen Brosius Cheng Deng Shanshan Lai Enwu Long 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,12:0
