1Coprinus comatus-derived nitrogen-containing biocarbon electrocatalyst with the addition of self-generating graphene-like support for superior oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘The development of nitrogen-rich biomassderived carbon catalysts provides an attractive perspective to substitute for Pt-based electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR). We here report a facile strategy for synthesis of a nitrogen-doped biocarbon/graphene-like composite electrocatalyst by pyrolyzing a solid-state mixture of coprinus comatus biomass and melamine under nitrogen protection. The graphtic carbon nitride formed by polycondensation of melamine at 600 °C acts as a selfsacrificing template to generate the nitrogen-doped graphene-like sheet, which can function as an inserting agent and self-generating support. The composite catalyst exhibits the most promising catalytic activity towards the fourelectron ORR with a half-wave potential of around 0.83 V(vs. RHE), and more excellent stability and tolerance to methanol/ethanol compared to the commercial Pt/C catalyst. It is interestingly found that both a higher content of nitrogen and a larger ratio of graphitic-nitrogen species,which may derive from self-addition of graphene-like support into the catalyst, can effectively improve the electrocatalytic activity. The planar N group may be the nitrogen functionality that is most responsible for maintaining the ORR activity in alkaline medium. 5Progress in densification and toughening of high entropy carbide ceramics显示文摘High entropy carbide ceramics(HECC)are solid solution of inorganic compounds with five or more prin-cipal metal cations.Research interests in HECC are dramatically sparked by the enormous possibilities in composition-microstructure-property tailoring.As widely acknowledged,HECCs enjoy higher hardness and oxidation/corrosion/wear resistance,as well as lower thermal conductivity than conventional engi-neering carbide ceramics,making them the most potential candidates for state-of-the-art structural and functional applications in extreme service conditions.Despite the advantages,however,the poor den-sification coupled with low fracture toughness significantly limited the practical applications of HECC.Adding to the difficulty,the literature available for toughening HECC is woefully limited.In considera-tion of this insufficiency,we apply towards offer a comprehensive,critical review of the mechanical be-havior of HECC,highlighting the densification enhancing strategies(carbon content,sintering techniques,grain size,sintering aids,etc.)as well as toughening methods including particle toughening,whisker/fiber toughening,synergistic toughening,graphene-carbon nanotube toughening,to further the service reliabil-ity of HECC in practical industrial applications.Furthermore,despite some significant successes,important directions for further development of HECC are given as multi-dimensional gradient HECC,additive man-ufacturing of HECC,processing-composition-microstructure-property relationship prediction and genomes of HECC based on machine learning,and high-throughput computing,etc.Zhennan Cao Jialin Sun Lingtao Meng Keguo Zhang Jun Zhao Zhifu Huang Xialun Yun 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,30:0
6Dissipative Particle Dynamics Simulations of the Self-assembly Mechanisms of Fluorinated Ordered Mesoporous Carbon in the Aqueous Phase显示文摘To clarify the preparation mechanisms of uorinated ordered mesoporous carbon materials (FOMCs), the dissipative par- ticle dynamics method was used to simulate the self-assembly process of the amphiphilic triblock poly(ethylene oxide)- poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) copolymer Pluronic F127 in the aqueous system. The self-assembly mechanisms in aqueous phase and the formation mechanisms of micropores and mesopores were investigated. It was found that the mesoporous structure of the FOMCs was formed by the hydrophobic segments of F127, while the pore wall was formed by both the hydrophilic segments and the carbon precursor in the system. The microporous structure on the pore wall was con- structed by the carbon source in the hydrophilic segments’ spaces after the template was removed.
