| 1 | Zircon U-Pb dating on the Mesozoic volcanic suite from the Qingshan Group stratotype section in eastern Shandong Province and its tectonic significance显示文摘A geochronological study of zircon U-Pb on the volcanic rocks from the stratotype section of the Qingshan Group within the Jiaozhou Basin, eastern Shandong Province, is presented. The zircons were analyzed using the method of in situ ablation of a 193 nm excimer laser system coupled with an up to date ICP-MS system. Among the three formations of the Qingshan Group, zircons recovered from the lowest part of the Houkuang Fm. were dated at 106±2 Ma (95% confidence, the same below), whereas those from the lower and upper parts of the Shiqianzhuang Fm. were given ages of 105±4 Ma and 98±1 Ma, respectively. A spatially decreasing trend for the Mesozoic magmatic timing from west to east in the province is observed through comparing the data of this study with those by previous works on the Qingshan volcanic lavas occurring at western Shandong and within the Yishu fault zone. The Qingshan volcanic rocks are constituent of the 'Shoshonite Province' in East China. Exposed at most provinces of central East China along the Tan-Lu fault and the Yangtze fault zones, these volcanic suites are characterized by shoshonite and high-K calcalkalic rocks in lithology and thought to be correlated with the partial melting of continental mantle in genesis. It is also shown that the Qingshan potassic volcanic suite from eastern Shandong basins is distinctly younger than those from other ar-eas of the shoshonite province. By contrary, ages of the Mesozoic to Cenozoic alkaline basalts, sourced by asthenospheric mantle, from both northern Huaiyan basin and northern Dabie belt along the Tan-Lu fault zone and from the Ningwu, Lishui and Luzong basins along the Yangtze fault zone are observably older than those occurring within eastern Shandong. | 2 | GYY4137 protects against myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury by attenuating oxidative stress and apoptosis in rats显示文摘Hydrogen sulfide(H_2S) is a gasotransmitter that regulates cardiovascular functions.The present study aimed to determine the protective effect of slow-releasing H_2S donor GYY4137 on myocardial ischemia and reperfusion(I/R) injury and to investigate the possible signaling mechanisms involved.Male Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with GYY4137 at 12.5 mg/(kg·day),25 mg/(kg·day) or 50 mg/(kg·day) intraperitoneally for7 days.Then,rats were subjected to 30 minutes of left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion followed by reperfusion for 24 hours.We found that GYY4137 increased the cardiac ejection fraction and fractional shortening,reduced the ischemia area,alleviated histological injury and decreased plasma creatine kinase after myocardial I/R.Both H_2S concentration in plasma and cystathionine-γ-lyase(CSE) activity in the myocardium were enhanced in the GYY4137 treated groups.GYY4137 also decreased malondialdehyde and myeloperoxidase levels in serum,attenuated superoxide anion level and suppressed phosphorylation of mitogen activated protein kinases in the myocardium after I/R.Meanwhile,GYY4137 increased the expression of Bcl-2 but decreased the expression of Bax,caspase-3 activity and apoptosis in the myocardium.The data suggest that GYY4137 protects against myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury by attenuating oxidative stress and apoptosis. | Guoliang Meng Jing Wang Yujiao Xiao Wenli Bai Liping Xie Liyang Shan Philip K Moore Yong Ji | 2015 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2015,29,3: | 18 |
| 3 | A microporous surface containing Si3N4/Ta microparticles of PEKK exhibits both antibacterial and osteogenic activity for inducing cellular response and improving osseointegration显示文摘As an implantable biomaterial,polyetherketoneketone(PEKK)exhibits good mechanical strength but it is biologically inert while tantalum(Ta)possesses outstanding osteogenic bioactivity but has a high density and elastic modulus.Also,silicon nitride(SN)has osteogenic and antibacterial activity.In this study,a microporous surface containing both SN and Ta microparticles on PEKK(STP)exhibiting excellent osteogenic and antibacterial activity was created by sulfonation.Compared with sulfonated PEKK(SPK)without microparticles,the surface properties(roughness,surface energy,hydrophilicity and protein adsorption)of STP significantly increased due to the SN and Ta particles presence on the microporous surface.In addition,STP also exhibited outstanding antibacterial activity,which inhibited bacterial growth in vitro and prevented bacterial infection in vivo because of the presence of SN particles.Moreover,the microporous surface of STP containing both SN and Ta particles remarkably induced response(e.g.,proliferation and differentiation)of rat bone mesenchymal stem(rBMS)cells in vitro.Furthermore,STP significantly improved new bone regeneration and osseointegration in vivo.Regarding the induction of cellular response in vitro and improvement of osseointegration in vivo,the microporous surface containing Ta was better than the surface with SN particles.In conclusion,STP with optimized surface properties activated cellular responses in vitro,enhanced osseointegration and prevented infection in vivo.Therefore,STP possessed the dual biofunctions of excellent osteogenic and antibacterial activity,showing great potential as a bone substitute. | Xinglong Hu Shiqi Mei Fan Wang Songchao Tang Dong Xie Chao Ding Wenli Du Jun Zhao Lili Yang Zhaoying Wu Jie Wei | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,10: | 6 |
| 4 | The Effect of Home-Based Cardiac Rehabilitation on Functional Capacity,Behavior,and Risk Factors in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome in China显示文摘Aim:To investigate the effect of home-based cardiac rehabilitation on functional capacity,health behavior,and risk factors in patients with acute coronary syndrome in China.Methods:Eighty patients with acute coronary syndrome were enrolled in this prospective randomized controlled study.Patients in the cardiac rehabilitation group(n=52)received home-based cardiac rehabilitation with a heart manual and a home exercise video for 3 months and patients in the control group(n=28)received only routine secondary prevention.The 6-min walk distance,laboratory test results,healthy behavior(questionnaire),quality of life(12-item Short Form Health Survey),anxiety(7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire),and depression(9-item Patient Health Questionnaire)were evaluated at the beginning and after treatment for 3 months.Results:Compared with baseline data,52 patients who participated in cardiac rehabilitation had longer 6-min walk distance(515.26±113.74 m vs 0.445.30±97.92 m,P<0.0002),higher proportions of“always exercise”(78.26% vs.28%,P<0.05),“always limit food with sugar”(65.22% vs 12%,P<0.05),“always eat fruits 200–400 g every day”(82.61% vs.4%,P<0.05).and“always eat vegetables 300–500 g every day”(21.74%vs.12%,P<0.06)after treatment for 3 months.The low-density lipoprotein cholesterol control rate(52.17% vs.28%,P<0.05)and the systolic blood pressure control rate(100%vs.68%,P<0.05)were also signifi cantly increased after treatment for 3 months in the cardiac rehabilitation group.No signifi cant increase was found in the control group after treatment for 3 months.No cardiac-event related to home exercise was reported in both groups.Conclusion:Home-based cardiac rehabilitation is a feasible and available cardiac rehabilitation mode in China. | Rongjing Ding Jianchao Li Limin Gao Liang Zhu Wenli Xie Xiaorong Wang Qin Tang Huili Wang Dayi Hu | 2017 | Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2017,,B02: | 5 |
| 5 | Improving water use ef fi ciency in grain production of winter wheat and summer maize in the North China Plain: a review显示文摘Reducing irrigation water use by improving water use ef ficiency(WUE) in grain production is critical for the development of sustainable agriculture in the North China Plain(NCP). This article summarizes the research progresses in WUE improvement carried out at the Luancheng station located in the Northern part of NCP for the past three decades. Progresses in four aspects of yield and WUE improvement are presented, including yield and WUE improvement associated with cultivar selection, irrigation management for improving yield and WUE under limited water supply, managing root system for ef ficient soil water use and reducing soil evaporation by straw mulch. The results showed that annual average increase of 0.014 kg$m^(–3)for winter wheat and 0.02 kg$m^(–3)in WUE were observed for the past three decades, and this increase was largely associated with the improvement in harvest index related to cultivar renewal and an increase in chemical fertilizer use and soil fertility. The results also indicated that de ficit irrigation for winter wheat could signi ficantly reduce the irrigation water use, whereas the seasonal yield showed a smaller reduction rate and WUE was signi ficantly improved. Straw mulching of summer maize using the straw from winter wheat could reduce seasonal soil evaporation by 30–40 mm. With new cultivars and improved management practices it was possible to further increase grain production without much increase in water use. | 6 | ZrO2 nanoparticles anchored on nitrogen-doped carbon nanosheets as efficient catalyst for electrochemical CO2 reduction显示文摘Electrochemical reduction of CO2 to produce value-added feedstock chemicals using high-performance electrocatalysts is a promising protocol to address the excessive CO2 in the atmosphere and the energy crisis. However, the high overpotential, low current density, and poor product selectivity for CO2 electroreduction greatly impede their practical applications. In this work, we develop an efficient catalyst for CO2 reduction to CO consisting of well-dispersed ZrO2 nanoparticles tightly anchored on nitrogendoped carbon nanosheets(ZrO2/N-C) for the first time. Importantly, the ZrO2 nanoparticles possess oxygen vacancies and defects, which regulate the electronic structure of catalyst and thus greatly enhance the electrocatalytic activity. Specifically, ZrO2/N-C demonstrates a high CO Faradaic efficiency(FE) of 64% at-0.4 V vs. the reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE) and a respectable current density of ~2.6 m A cm-2 in CO2-saturated 0.5 M KHCO 3 solution. | 12 | Community Characteristics and Species Diversity of Wetland Plants in the Yangguan Nature Reserve of Dunhuang显示文摘As a typical inland wetland, Yangguan nature reserve wetland in Dunhuang is one of the important stops of migratory route for birds, which is vulnerable and particular. Study on the community characteristics and species diversity of wetland has great signifi cance for biodiversity protection. Based on the fi eld investigation, the fl oristic composition, geographical elements and species diversity of wetland plants were studied in Yangguan reserve of Dunhuang. The results showed that 26 families, 56 genera and 74 species were recorded in the study area. The largest families were the Gramineae and Chenopodiaceae, accounting for 29.73% of the total. Herbs were the most abundant life-form, accounting for 77.03% of the total. The fl oral geographical elements of the plants were mainly composed of temperate zone distribution type. By using two way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN), the vegetation in 36 sampling plots could be classifi ed into 8 communities. The species diversity indexes of communities were relatively low, but had large differences among each other. According to the importance value, the Margalef richness index(Rm) ranged from 0 to 4.200. Simpson diversity index(D) was between 0 and 0.512; Shannon diversity index(H) ranged from 0 to 1.400, and Pielou evenness index(J) was within the range of 0.538 to 1.000. | 15 | Non-integrating lentiviral vectors based on the minimal S/MAR sequence retain transgene expression in dividing cells显示文摘Safe and efficient gene transfer systems are the basis of gene therapy applications. Non-integrating lentiviral(NIL) vectors are among the most promising candidates for gene transfer tools, because they exhibit high transfer efficiency in both dividing and non-dividing cells and do not present a risk of insertional mutagenesis. However, non-integrating lentiviral vectors cannot introduce stable exogenous gene expression to dividing cells, thereby limiting their application. Here, we report the design of a non-integrating lentiviral vector that contains the minimal scaffold/matrix attachment region(S/MAR) sequence(SNIL), and this SNIL vector is able to retain episomal transgene expression in dividing cells. Using SNIL vectors, we detected the expression of the eGFP gene for 61 days in SNIL-transduced stable CHO cells, either with selection or not. In the NIL group without the S/MAR sequence, however, the transduced cells died under selection for the transient expression of NIL vectors. Furthermore,Southern blot assays demonstrated that the SNIL vectors were retained extrachromosomally in the CHO cells. | 20 | Loss of NEIL3 activates radiotherapy resistance in the progression of prostate cancer显示文摘Objective:To explore the genetic changes in the progression of castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC)and neuroendocrine prostate cancer(NEPC)and the reason why these cancers resist existing therapies.Methods:We employed our CRPC cell line microarray and other CRPC or NEPC datasets to screen the target gene NEIL3.Lentiviral transfection and RNA interference were used to construct overexpression and knockdown cell lines.Cell and animal models of radiotherapy were established by using a medical electron linear accelerator.Flow cytometry was used to detect apoptosis or cell cycle progression.Western blot and qPCR were used to detect changes in the protein and RNA levels.Results:TCGA and clinical patient datasets indicated that NEIL3 was downregulated in CRPC and NEPC cell lines,and NEIL3 was correlated with a high Gleason score but a good prognosis.Further functional studies demonstrated that NEIL3 had no effect on the proliferation and migration of PCa cells.However,cell and animal radiotherapy models revealed that NEIL3 could facilitate the radiotherapy sensitivity of PCa cells,while loss of NEIL3 activated radiotherapy resistance.Mechanistically,we found that NEIL3 negatively regulated the expression of ATR,and higher NEIL3 expression repressed the ATR/CHK1 pathway,thus regulating the cell cycle.Conclusions:We demonstrated that NEIL3 may serve as a diagnostic or therapeutic target for therapy-resistant patients. | Qiong Wang Zean Li Jin Yang Shirong Peng Qianghua Zhou Kai Yao Wenli Cai Zhongqiu Xie Fujun Qin Hui Li Xu Chen Kaiwen Li Hai Huang | 2022 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,8: | 0 |
