1Polychlorinated biphenyls in the atmosphere of Taizhou,a major e-waste dismantling area in China显示文摘PM2.5,total suspended particles(TSP) and gas phase samples were collected at two sites of Taizhou,a major e-waste dismantling area in China.Concentrations,seasonal variations,congener profiles,gas-particle partitioning and size distribution of the atmospheric polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs) were studied to assess the current state of atmospheric PCBs after the phase out of massive historical dismantling of PCBs containing e-wastes.The average 38PCBs concentration in the ambient air(TSP plus gas phase) near the e-waste dismantling area was(12,407 ± 9592) pg/m3 in winter,which was substantially lower than that found one decade ago.However,the atmospheric PCBs level near the e-waste dismantling area was 54 times of the reference urban site,indicating that the impact of the historical dismantling of PCBs containing e-wastes was still significant.Tri-Penta-CBs were dominant homologues,consisting with their dominant global production.Size distribution of particle-bound PCBs showed that higher chlorinated CBs tended to partition more to the fine particles,facilitating its long range air transportation.Wenliang Han Jialiang Feng Zeping Gu Minghong Wu Guoying Sheng Jiamo Fu 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,4:18
2Diurnal variations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons associated with PM_(2.5) in Shanghai, China显示文摘Forty-eight daily time interval PM2.5 samples were collected from December 2006 to January 2008 in an urban site in Shanghai, China. Concentrations and compositions of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were analyzed with GC-MS to study the diurnal and seasonal variations and to identify the main emitting sources. The diurnal variation of the PAHs concentrations was greater in the late autumn and winter sampling days, and was greatly influenced by meteorological conditions such as wind speed and ambient temperature. The concentration of PAHs in the mornings (6:30-10:00) increased distinctly, and was high in the late autumn and winter sampling days, indicating the contribution from vehicle emissions during rush hours. The diurnal variation of the high molecular weight PAHs did not seem to be controlled by the shift of gas-particle partitioning due to temperature variation, instead, it could be indicative of the variation in the source. Statistical analyses showed that the concentrations of PAHs were negatively correlated with temperature and wind speed, and positively correlated with relative humidity. 3Activity of the Lenglongling fault system and seismotectonics of the 2016 MS6.4 Menyuan earthquake显示文摘The MS6.4 Menyuan earthquake occurred on the northern side of the Lenglongling fault(LLLF) in the mid-western of the Qilian-Haiyuan fault zone on January 21, 2016. The earthquake epicenter was distant from the Minle-Damaying and Huangcheng-Shuangta faults, eastern of the Northern Qilian Shan fault zone. A near northwest-striking rupture plane intersects the two faults at a certain angle. The focal mechanism solution shows that this was a thrust-type earthquake, slightly different from the strike-slip movement with a thrust component of the LLLF. Field geological mapping, tectonic geomorphology analysis, trench excavation and 14 C dating reveal that(1) the LLLF has been obviously active since the Holocene, and may behave with characteristic slip behavior and produce M_W7.3–7.5 earthquakes;(2) the LLLF appears as a flower structure in terms of structure style, and dips NNE at a steep angle; and(3) the most recent earthquake event occurred after 1815–1065 a BP. An associated fault, the Northern Lenglongling fault(NLLLF), is located at the northwestern end of the LLLF. Consequently, the NLLLF was continually subject to tectonic pushing effects from the left-lateral shear at the end of the LLLF, and, accordingly, it bent and rotated outward tectonically.Subsequently, the fault deviated from the dominant rupture azimuth and activity weakened. In the late Quaternary, it behaved as a thrust fault with no obvious deformation at the surface. This is indicated by the arc shape, with a micro-protrusion northeastward,and no geologic or geomorphic signs of surface rupturing since the late Quaternary. However, such faults could still rupture at depth, producing moderate-strong earthquakes. The geometric and kinematic properties of the NLLLF are in good agreement with the occurrence and kinematic properties of nodal plane 2, and with the distribution characteristics of the aftershocks and seismic intensity. Therefore, the NLLLF is a more suitable seismogenic structure for the MS 6.4 Menyuan earthquake. In addition, the thrust movement of the NLLLF accommodates subsequent movement of the LLLF. 4Brine-freeze-thaw Durability and Crack Density Model of Concrete in Salt Lake Region显示文摘The brine-freeze-thaw durability (defined as the durability under freeze-thaw cycles in Qinghai salt lake brine) of concrete (ordinary Portland cement concrete (OPC), high performance concrete (HPC-a), high performance concrete with steel fiber (HPC-b), and high performance concrete with high Young's modulus polyethylene fiber (HPC-c)) was systematically investigated by the relative dynamic elastic modulus, the relative mass, the appearance, the scanning electron microscopy, and the X-ray diffraction. In addition, the low-temperature physical and chemical corrosion mechanism and a crack density model after the modified relative dynamic elastic modulus being taken into consideration were proposed. The results show that the deterioration of OPC is the severest, followed by HPC-a, HPC-c and HPC-b. The admixture or the fiber is mixed into concrete, which can improve the brine-freeze-thaw durability of concrete. The critical mass growth of the failure of concrete is 3.7%. The cause of the deterioration of concrete under the brine-freeze-thaw cycles is physical and chemical corrosion, not freezing and thawing. 5Systematics and Species Validity of the Dabieshan Pit Viper Protobothrops dabieshanensis Huang et al. 2012: Evidence from a Mitochondrial Gene Sequence Analysis显示文摘Aimed to evaluate the phylogenetic position of the recently described Protobothrops dabieshanensis Huang et al.(2012), phylogenic relationships of 12 species within Protobothrops based on four mtDNA gene fragments(12S RNA, 16S RNA, ND4 and Cyt b) were reconstructed in our study. The result indicates a clade composed of P. dabieshanensis, P. jerdonii and P. xiangchengsis with strong support. The genetic distance among P. dabieshanensis, P. jerdonii and P. xiangchengsis was much lower than other congeners. 6Mitochondria Redistribution in Enterovirus A71 Infected Cells and Its Effect on Virus Replication显示文摘Enterovirus A71(EV-A71)is one of the main causative agents of hand,foot and mouth disease(HFMD)and it also causes severe neurologic complications in infected children.The interactions between some viruses and the host mitochondria are crucial for virus replication and pathogenicity.In this study,it was observed that EV-A71 infection resulted in a perinuclear redistribution of the mitochondria.The mitochondria rearrangement was found to require the microtubule network,the dynein complex and a low cytosolic calcium concentration.Subsequently,the EV-A71 non-structural protein 2BC was identified as the viral protein capable of inducing mitochondria clustering.The protein was found localized on mitochondria and interacted with the mitochondrial Rho GTPase 1(RHOT1)that is a key protein required for attachment between the mitochondria and the motor proteins,which are responsible for the control of mitochondria movement.Additionally,suppressing mitochondria clustering by treating cells with nocodazole,EHNA,thapsigargin or A23187 consistently inhibited EV?A71 replication,indicating that mitochondria recruitment played a crucial role in the EV-A71 life cycle.This study identified a novel function of the EV-A71 2BC protein and provided a potential model for the regulation of mitochondrial motility in EV-A71 infection.Yang Yang Haolong Cong Ning Du Xiaodong Han Lei Song Wenliang Zhang Chunrui Li Po Tien 2019Virologica Sinica2019,34,4:2

10EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON FALL VELOCITY OF NON-UNIFORM SEDIMENT IN FLOWING WATER显示文摘A conical settlement barrel is used to study the group fall velocity of non-uniform particles, which allows the current to flow from the bottom to the top, with particles suspending in the flow. The average flow velocity at the cross section is regarded as the settling speed of the particles. A formula of group settling velocity for non-uniform particles is obtained by analyzing the experimental data. Also, a preliminary study on the group fall velocity of each size of non-uniform particles is carried out, and fall velocity formulas for various size groups are obtained. 13Video Saliency Detection via Pairwise Interaction显示文摘We propose a novel video saliency detection method based on pairwise interaction learning in this paper.Different from the traditional video saliency detection methods,which mostly combine spatial and temporal features,we adopt Least squares Conditional random field(LS-CRF)to capture the interaction information of regions within a frame or between video frames.Specifically,dual graph-connection models are built on superpixels structure of each frame for training and testing,respectively.In order to extract the essential scene structure from video sequences,LS-CRF is introduced to learn the background texture,object components and the various relationships between foreground and background regions through the training set,and each region will be distributed an inferred saliency value in testing phase.Benefitting from the learned diverse relations among scene regions,the proposed approach achieves reliable results especially on multiple objects scenes or under highly complicated scenes.Further,we substitute weak saliency maps for pixel-wise annotations in training phase to verify the expansibility and practicability of the proposed method.Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments on various video sequences demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms conventional saliency detection algorithms.QIU Wenliang GAO Xinbo HAN Bing 2020Chinese Journal of Electronics2020,29,3:0

16Distinctive diet-tissue isotopic discrimination factors derived from the exclusive bamboo-eating giant panda显示文摘Stable isotope analysis is very useful in animal ecology,especially in diet reconstruction and trophic studies.Differences in isotope ratios between consumers and their diet,termed discrimination factors,are essential for studies of stable isotope ecology and are species-specific and tissue-specific.Given the specialized bamboo diet and clear foraging behavior,here,we calculated discrimination factors for carbon and nitrogen isotopes from diet to tissues(tooth enamel,hair keratin and bone collagen)for the giant panda(Ailuropoda melanoleuca),a species derived from meat-eating ancestors.Our results showed that carbon discrimination factor obtained from giant panda tooth enamel(ε^(13)C_(diet-enamel)=10.0‰)and nitrogen discrimination factors from hair keratin(Δ^(15)N_(diet-hair)=2.2‰)and bone collagen(Δ^(15)N_(diet-collagen)=2.3‰)were lower,and carbon discrimination factors from hair ker­atin(Δ^(13)C_(diet-hair)=5.0‰)and bone collagen(Δ13Cdiet-collagen=6.1‰)were higher than those of other mammalian carnivores,omnivores and herbivores.Such distinctive values are likely the result of a low-nutrient and special­ized bamboo diet,carnivore-like digestive system and exceptionally low metabolism in giant pandas.Han HAN Wei WEI Yonggang NIE Wenliang ZHOU Yibo HU Qi WU Fuwen WEI 2016Integrative Zoology2016,11,6:0
17High-resolution Moho depth and V_(p)/V_(s) ratio distributions in northeast China from joint inversion of receiver functions and gravity data and their geological implications显示文摘In this study,high-resolution Moho depth and average crustal V_(p)/V_(s) ratio distributions in northeast China were obtained through joint inversion of receiver functions and gravity data.The new joint inversion method comprehensively considers the complementary imaging strengths of the receiver functions in the vertical direction and the gravity data in the lateral direction.To a certain extent,it can reduce the adverse effects of the receiver function data caused by the sedimentary layers of the basin,the inclination of the Moho,and the structure heterogeneity below the station.In preprocessing the receiver function data,a regularized virtual station network was constructed using the teleseismic receiver function waveform reconstruction method to improve the overall spatial resolution.To filter the gravity data,the velocity structure-guided gravity filtering method and gravity upward continuation were used for the shallower region above the Moho and the deeper region below the lithosphere,respectively.The newly obtained model shows that the Moho depths of the Hailar Basin,Erlian Basin,Sanjiang Basin,and Bohai Bay Basin are slightly shallower than those of the surrounding areas,while the Moho depths of the Greater Xing’an Range,Lesser Xing’an Range,and Zhangguangcai Range are slightly deeper.Compared with previous results,the refined Moho depth distribution obtained in this study has a better correspondence with topographic relief and basin boundaries,and the contrast is more evident across the north-south gravity gradient lineament(NSGL).In the eastern part of the Songliao Basin,the Moho is relatively shallow,and there is a high V_(p)/V_(s) ratio,which may have been caused by the intrusion of hot mantle materials into the crust induced by lateral extension of the Songliao Basin.The high V_(p)/V_(s) ratio of the crust below the Changbaishan volcanic area implies the existence of partial melting in the crust caused by upwelling hot mantle materials.Aowei HAO Haijiang ZHANG Shoucheng HAN Wenliang XU 2023Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,7:0
