1Chinmedomics facilitated quality-marker discovery of Sijunzi decoction to treat spleen qi deficiency syndrome显示文摘Sijunzi decoction (SJZD) is a Chinese classical formula to treat spleen qi deficiency syndrome (SQDS) and has been widely used for thousands of years.However,the quality control (QC) standards of SJZD are insufficient.Chinmedomics has been designed to discover and verify bioactive compounds of a variety of formularapidly.In this study,we used Chinmedomics to evaluate the SJZD's efficacy against SQDS to discover the potential quality-markers (q-markers) for QC.A total of 56 compounds in SJZD were characterized in vitro,and 23 compounds were discovered in vivo.A total of 58 biomarkers were related to SQDS,and SJZD can adjust a large proportion of marker metabolites to normal level and then regulate the metabolic profile to the health status.A total of 10 constituents were absorbed as effective ingredients that were associated with overall efficacy.We preliminarily determined malonyl-ginsenoside Rb2 and ginsenoside Ro as the q-markers of ginseng;dehydrotumulosic acid and dihydroxy lanostene-triene-21-acid as the q-markers of poria;glycyrrhizic acid,isoglabrolide,and glycyrrhetnic acid as the q-markers of licorice;and 2-atractylenolide as the q-marker of macrocephala.According to the discovery of the SJZD q-markers,we can establish the quality standard that is related to efficacy.Qiqi Zhao Xin Gao Guangli Yan Aihua Zhang Hui Sun Ying Han Wenxiu Li Liang Liu Xijun Wang 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,3:7
2Cable-like carbon nanotubes decorated metal-organic framework derived ultrathin CoSe2/CNTs nanosheets for electrocatalytic overall water splitting显示文摘The high cost and low reserves of noble metals greatly hinder their practical applications in new energy production and conversion.The exploration of cost-effective alternative electrocatalysts with the ability to drive hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is extremely significant to promote overall water splitting.Herein,ultrathin CoSe2/CNTs nanocomposites have been synthesized by a facile two-step method,where the ultrathin Co-MOF(metal organic-framework)decorated with cable-like carbon nanotubes(CNTs)(Co-MOF/CNTs)was initially fabricated,and followed a lowtemperature selenization process.The ultrathin CoSe2 nanosheets as well as the superior conductivity of CNTs synergistically resulted in abundant active sites and enhanced conductivity to boost the electrocatalytic activity.The as-prepared CoSe2/CNTs electrocatalysts exhibited an overpotential of190 mV and 300 mV vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)at a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2) for the HER and OER in alkaline solution,respectively,and demonstrated superior durability.Furthermore,the as-prepared bifunctional CoSe2/CNTs electrocatalysts can act as cathode and anode in an electrolyzer,showing a cell voltage of 1.75 V at 10 mA/cm^(2) for overall water splitting.Guijuan Wei Kun Du Xixia Zhao Jiayang Wang Wenxiu Yan Chao An Changhua An 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:5
3Co encapsulated N-doped carbon nanotubes as robust catalyst for valorization of levulinic acid in aqueous media显示文摘The construction of an acid resistant catalyst for synthesis of γ-valerolactone from levulinic acid in aqueous media is an important but highly challenging goal.Herein,an efficient Co@NCNT-800(after 800℃ pyrolysis) catalyst was constructed by confining Co in N-doped carbon nano-tubes(NCNT) from low cost materials by a facile strategy.Combined with the characterization results and control experiments,the in situ formed Co and Co-Ox, but not Co-Nx, proved to be the main synergistic active sites of the catalyst.It was also found that Co species are completely isolated within the bamboo-like NCNT,which could protect the metal nanoparticles from agglomeration and leaching in the strong acid reaction system.The γ-valerolactone yield of no less than 99.9% can be obtained under a relatively mild condition,and the catalytic performance has not been significantly reduced within five cycles.Therefore,this work may pave a way for the design of robust non-noble catalyst,and has potential for the production of γ-valerolactone from biomass in large-scale industries.Xiangjin Kong Weijie Geng Wenxiu Li Lin Liu Xiaoqi Yan Longchen Gong Junhai Liu 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,1:1
4Effects of Long-Term Fertilization Strategies on Soil Productivity and Soybean Rhizobial Diversity in a Chinese Mollisol显示文摘Rhizobial diversity is affected by interactions between soil features, fertilization strategy, and cropping system. However, interactions among the rhizobial community, chemical-organic manure fertilization, and plant production have not been well documented in Mollisols from long-term experiments. Aimed at maintaining and recovering the productivity of Chinese Mollisols, a long-term fertilization experiment had been carried out for 29 years under a wheat-maize-soybean rotation system, involving the application of recycled organic manure (ROM), chemical fertilizers (N, P, and/or K), or ROM plus N, P, and/or K. In the present study, the effects of different treatments were evaluated by determining soil physicochemical features, soybean production, and soybean rhizobial diversity. The results showed that application of ROM plus NPK maintained or increased soil fertility, which was accompanied by higher production and higher diversity of rhizobia, as compared with the other treatments. The negative association of Bradyrhizobium japonicum with N fertilizer, positive association of B. diazoefficiens with soil pH, and alleviation of N-inhibition on the diversity of Bradyrhizobium by the addition of ROM were recorded as new findings. 8The Effect of the Cyp19a1 Gene Methylation Modification on Temperature-dependent Sex Determination of Reeves' Turtle(Mauremys reevesii)显示文摘Temperature-dependent sex determination(TSD) is a type of environmental sex determination in which the sex of the embryos depends on the ambient temperature; however,the molecular mechanisms governing this process remain unknown.Aromatase,encoded by the cyp19a1 gene,which converts androgens into estrogens in animals,was considered to be the key gene for TSD.In this study,the 5'-flanking region of the cyp19a1 gene in Reeves' turtle(Mauremys reevesii) was cloned,and the promoter region was identified using the luciferase reporter assay.Then the eggs of Reeves' turtle were incubated at different temperatures(26°C: male-biased temperature; 29°C: non-sex-biased temperature and 32°C: female-biased temperature).During the thermosensitive period,the adrenal kidney gonad complexes(AKG) were sampled.DNA methylation analysis of the AKG samples showed that the promoter region of the cyp19a1 gene was significantly de-methylated in the female-biased temperature regime(P<0.01).Quantitative analysis of the cyp19a1 gene and estrogen by q PCR and Elisa assay showed that the expression level of the cyp19a1 gene and estrogen content were both upregulated significantly at the female-biased temperature(P<0.01).These results indicated that the de-methylation response of the cyp19a1 gene to incubation temperature,especially at the female-biased temperature,could lead to temperature-specific expression of aromatase and increased estrogen levels,which may further determine gonadal development in Reeves' turtle.These findings provide insights into the genetic mechanisms underlying TSD.Wenxiu RU Liushuai HUA Yufeng WEI Weiye LI Dainan CAO Yan GE Hong CHEN Xianyong LAN Shiping GONG 2017Asian Herpetological Research2017,18,3:1
9Surface-tuning nanoporous AuCu_(3) engineering syngas proportion by electrochemical conversion of CO_(2)显示文摘The direct electrochemical conversion of CO_(2) to syngas with controllable composition remains challenging. In this work, driven by concentration gradient, a simple air-heating aided strategy has been developed to adjust surface composition of the self-supporting nanoporous AuCu_(3) alloy. According to Fick First Law, the interior Cu atoms of the AuCu_(3) alloy with Au-rich surface gradually segregated outwards during heating, realizing Cu-rich surface eventually. Correspondingly, the competing electrocatalytic CO_(2) reduction (ECR) to CO and hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) were tactfully balanced on these alloy surfaces, thus achieving proportion-tunable syngas (CO/H2). Density functional theory (DFT) calculations on the Gibbs free energy change of the COOH* and H* (ΔGCOOH*, ΔGH*) on the alloy surfaces were conducted, which are generally considered as the selectivity descriptors for CO and H2 products, respectively. It shows ΔGCOOH* gradually increases in contrast to the decreased ΔGH* with more Cu on the surface, suggesting H2 is more favored over Cu sites, which is consistent with the declining CO/H2 ratio observed in the experiments. 10Engineering Exciton-Phonon Interactions for Suppressing Nonradiative Energy Loss in Energy-Transfer-Initiated Photocatalysis显示文摘The prevalent excitonic effects in low-dimensional semiconductors enable energy-transfer-initiated photocatalytic solar-to-chemical energy conversion.However,the generally strong interactions between excitons and lattice vibrations in these low-dimensional systems lead to robust nonradiative energy loss,which inevitably impedes photocatalytic performance of energy-transfer-initiated reactions.Herein,we highlight the crucial role of engineering exciton-phonon interactions in suppressing nonradiative energy losses in low-dimensional semiconductor-based photocatalysts.By taking bismuth oxybromide(BiOBr)as an example,we demonstrate that phonon engineering could be effectively implemented by introducing Bi-Br vacancy clusters.Based on nonadiabatic molecular dynamics simulations and spectroscopic investigations,we demonstrate that the defective structure can promote exciton-low-frequency phonon coupling and reduce exciton-high-frequency optical phonon coupling.Benefiting from the tailored couplings,nonradiative decay of excitons in defective BiOBr is significantly suppressed,thereby facilitating exciton accumulation and hence energy-transfer-initiated photocatalysis.Hui Wang Sen Jin Aolei Wang Xiang Jiang Wenxiu Liu Xiaodong Zhang Wensheng Yan Kuai Yu Jin Zhao Yi Xie 2023CCS Chemistry2023,5,1:0
11Polymorphic Analysis of TLR4 Gene in Hainan Local Pig Breeds Based on Sequencing Technology显示文摘[Objective]The paper was to understand the polymorphism of TLR4 gene in Hainan local pig breeds.[Method]The TLR4 genome sequence of Wuzhishan pigs,Lingao pigs,and Tunchang pigs was cloned and sequenced by PCR.The sequence was analyzed using DNAStar and BioEdit software,and the structure of TLR4 protein was analyzed using SMART,SOPMA,and SWISS-MODEL online software.The secondary structure and tertiary structure of TLR4 protein were predicted as well.[Result]The total length of TLR4 gene in three Hainan local pig breeds were all 10435 bp which included a 2526 bp CDS(coding 841 amino acid).Intra-specific comparison showed that there was one nucleotide site with polymorphism in Wuzhishan pigs;there were six nucleotide sites with polymorphism in Tunchang pigs,two of which were located in the coding area;there were three nucleotide sites with polymorphisms in Lingao pigs,one of which was located in the coding area.When interspecific comparisons of TLR4 gene sequences from three Hainan local pig breeds were performed,there were 27 nucleotide sites with polymorphism,two of which were missense mutations,resulting in amino acid changes.The homology of TLR4 gene sequence from three pig breeds was 99.8%-99.9%,indicating that the TLR4 gene sequence was highly conservative.The predicted protein structure indicated that the G→T mutation at 7209 site and G→A mutation at 7781 site in TLR4 gene of Hainan local pig breeds caused changes in the secondary and tertiary structure of TLR4 protein.[Conclusion]TLR4 gene in Hainan local pig breeds has polymorphism.The structural changes caused by polymorphism may change the function of TLR4 gene.Liu Hailong Zhang Yan Wang Wenxiu Huang Lili 2020Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2020,12,1:0
12Microbial Responses of Soil Fertility to Depth of Tillage and Incorporation of Straw in a Haplic Chernozem in Northeast China显示文摘Straw is widely incorporated into soil worldwide,but most studies have concentrated on the effects of straw mulching or incorporation with topsoil.To determine the effect of depth of straw incorporation on bacterial and fungal communities,we established a field experiment in a region in Northeast China with Haplic Chernozems using four treatments:conventional tillage(CT,tillage to a depth of 15 cm with no straw incorporation),straw incorporation with conventional tillage(SCT,tillage to a depth of 15 cm),inversion tillage(IT,tillage to a depth of 35 cm)and straw incorporation with inversion tillage(SIT,tillage to a depth of 35 cm).The soils were managed by inversion to a depth of 15 or 35 cm after harvest.The results show that soil organic carbon content was significantly higher and pH and bulk density were significantly lower in the 15–35 cm layer in IT and SIT than CT and SCT.Fungal abundance was higher with straw incorporation,but fungal diversity was lower in the 0–15 cm layer in SCT and SIT than in CT and IT.Path length in the bacterial network was shorter and connectivity was higher in CT+SCT than in IT+SIT,leading to a more complex ecosystem,and the fungal network had opposite patterns.The key taxa in the phylum Actinobacteriota and Ascomycota in the microbial networks changed dramatically at the genus level following inversion tillage with straw amendment,which may increase bacterial network resistance to environmental disturbances and unstable fungal networks,resulting in large changes in the fungal community involved in the decomposition of recalcitrant straw-derived C and the more efficient acquisition of limiting resources.CHEN Xu SHI Chao HAN Xiaozeng WANG Xiaohui GUO Zhenxi LU Xinchun ZOU Wenxiu YAN Jun 2023Chinese Geographical Science2023,33,4:0

14Polymorphic Analysis of TLR2 Gene in Native Hainan Pig Breeds Based on Sequencing Technology显示文摘[Objective]The paper was to understand the polymorphism of TLR2 gene in native Hainan pig breeds.[Method]TLR2 gene were cloned from blood samples of Wuzhishan pigs,Lingao pigs and Tunchang pigs by PCR and sequenced.[Result]The DNA sequence of TLR2 gene in native Hainan pig breeds was 2649 bp and its CDS was 2358 bp.The intra-specific alignment of TLR2 gene sequences of the three pigs showed that there were seven nucleotide polymorphisms in Wuzhishan pigs(two of which located in the coding region),five nucleotide polymorphisms in Tunchang pigs(all of which were outside the coding region)and four nucleotide polymorphisms in Lingao pigs(one of which was located in the coding region).The results of inter-specific comparison showed that there were 12 nucleotide polymorphisms in three pig breeds,three of polymorphisms were missense mutations,resulting in changes in amino acids.The results of homologous analysis showed that the TLR2 gene sequences of the three pig breeds were highly conservative,with the homology ranging from 99.6% to 99.9%.Prediction and analysis of protein structure showed that AG mutation at 876 and 1454 sites of TLR2 gene in native Hainan pigs caused changes in secondary and tertiary structure of the protein,suggesting there might be possible changes in the function of TLR2.[Conclusion]The study provided reference for further research on the relationship between polymorphism of TLR2 gene and epidemic susceptibility of pigs.Zhang Yan Liu Hailong Wang Wenxiu Huang Lili 2019Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2019,11,5:0
