1Failure mechanism and coupled static-dynamic loading theory in deep hard rock mining: A review显示文摘Rock failure phenomena,such as rockburst,slabbing(or spalling) and zonal disintegration,related to deep underground excavation of hard rocks are frequently reported and pose a great threat to deep mining.Currently,the explanation for these failure phenomena using existing dynamic or static rock mechanics theory is not straightforward.In this study,new theory and testing method for deep underground rock mass under coupled static-dynamic loading are introduced.Two types of coupled loading modes,i.e.'critical static stress + slight disturbance' and 'elastic static stress + impact disturbance',are proposed,and associated test devices are developed.Rockburst phenomena of hard rocks under coupled static-dynamic loading are successfully reproduced in the laboratory,and the rockburst mechanism and related criteria are demonstrated.The results of true triaxial unloading compression tests on granite and red sandstone indicate that the unloading can induce slabbing when the confining pressure exceeds a certain threshold,and the slabbing failure strength is lower than the shear failure strength according to the conventional Mohr-Column criterion.Numerical results indicate that the rock unloading failure response under different in situ stresses and unloading rates can be characterized by an equivalent strain energy density.In addition,we present a new microseismic source location method without premeasuring the sound wave velocity in rock mass,which can efficiently and accurately locate the rock failure in hard rock mines.Also,a new idea for deep hard rock mining using a non-explosive continuous mining method is briefly introduced.Xibing Li Fengqiang Gong Ming Tao Longjun Dong Kun Du Chunde Ma Zilong Zhou Tubing Yin 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,4:68
22018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 4Perspectives on studies on soil carbon stocks and the carbon sequestration potential of China显示文摘Soil carbon stocks and sequestration have been given a lot of attention recently in the study of terrestrial ecosystems and global climate change.This review focuses on the progress made on the estimation of the soil carbon stocks of China,and the characterization of carbon dynamics of croplands with regard to climate change,and addresses issues on the mineralization of soil organic carbon in relation to greenhouse gas emissions.By integrating existing research data,China's total soil organic carbon(SOC) stock is estimated to be 90 Pg and its inorganic carbon(SIC) stock as 60 Pg,with SOC sequestration rates in the range of 20-25 Tg/a for the last two decades.An estimation of the biophysical potential of SOC sequestration has been generally agreed as being 2 Pg over the long term,of which only 1/3 could be attainable using contemporary agricultural technologies in all of China's croplands.Thus,it is critical to enhance SOC sequestration and mitigate climate change to improve agricultural and land use management in China.There have been many instances where SOC accumulation may not induce an increased amount of decomposition under a warming scenario but instead favor improved cropland productivity and ecosystem functioning.Furthermore,unchanged or even decreased net global warming potential(GWP) from croplands with enhanced SOC has been reported by a number of case studies using life cycle analysis.Future studies on soil carbon stocks and the sequestration potential of China are expected to focus on:(1) Carbon stocks and the sequestration capacity of the earths' surface systems at scales ranging from the plot to the watershed and(2) multiple interface processes and the synergies between carbon sequestration and ecosystem productivity and ecosystem functioning at scales from the molecular level to agro-ecosystems.Soil carbon science in China faces new challenges and opportunities to undertake integrated research applicable to many areas.ZHENG JuFeng CHENG Kun PAN GenXing Pete SMITH LI LianQing ZHANG XuHui ZHENG JinWei HAN XiaoJun DU YanLing 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,35:24
5Extracellular vesicles from human urine-derived stem cells prevent osteoporosis by transferring CTHRC1 and OPG显示文摘Osteoporosis is a debilitating bone disease affecting millions of people. Here, we used human urine-derived stem cells(USCs),which were noninvasively harvested from unlimited and easily available urine, as a 'factory' to obtain extracellular vesicles(USCEVs) and demonstrated that the systemic injection of USC-EVs effectively alleviates bone loss and maintains bone strength in osteoporotic mice by enhancing osteoblastic bone formation and suppressing osteoclastic bone resorption. More importantly, the anti-osteoporotic properties of USC-EVs are not notably disrupted by the age, gender, or health condition(with or without osteoporosis) of the USC donor. Mechanistic studies determined that collagen triple-helix repeat containing 1(CTHRC1) and osteoprotegerin(OPG) proteins are enriched in USC-EVs and required for USC-EV-induced pro-osteogenic and anti-osteoclastic effects. 6Use of curcumin in diagnosis,prevention,and treatment of Alzheimer's disease显示文摘This review summarizes and describes the use of curcumin in diagnosis,prevention,and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.For diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease,amyloid-β and highly phosphorylated tau protein are the major biomarkers.Curcumin was developed as an early diagnostic probe based on its natural fluorescence and high binding affinity to amyloid-β.Because of its multi-target effects,curcumin has protective and preventive effects on many chronic diseases such as cerebrovascular disease,hypertension,and hyperlipidemia.For prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease,curcumin has been shown to effectively maintain the normal structure and function of cerebral vessels,mitochondria,and synapses,reduce risk factors for a variety of chronic diseases,and decrease the risk of Alzheimer's disease.The effect of curcumin on Alzheimer's disease involves multiple signaling pathways:anti-amyloid and metal iron chelating properties,antioxidation and anti-inflammatory activities.Indeed,there is a scientific basis for the rational application of curcumin in prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.Min Chen Zhi-Yun Du Xi Zheng Dong-Li Li Ren-Ping Zhou Kun Zhang 2018Neural Regeneration Research2018,13,4:13
7Effects of professional rehabilitation training on the recovery of neurological function in young stroke patients显示文摘Young stroke patients have a strong desire to return to the society,but few studies have been conducted on their rehabilitation training items,intensity,and prognosis.We analyzed clinical data of young and middle-aged/older stroke patients hospitalized in the Department of Neurological Rehabilitation,China Rehabilitation Research Center,Capital Medical University,China from February 2014 to May 2015.Results demonstrated that hemorrhagic stroke(59.6%) was the primary stroke type found in the young group,while ischemic stroke(60.0%)was the main type detected in the middle-aged/older group.Compared with older stroke patients,education level and incidence of hyperhomocysteinemia were higher in younger stroke patients,whereas,incidences of hypertension,diabetes,and heart disease were lower.The average length of hospital stay was longer in the young group than in the middle-aged/older group.The main risk factors observed in the young stroke patients were hypertension,drinking,smoking,hyperlipidemia,hyperhomocysteinemia,diabetes,previous history of stroke,and heart disease.The most accepted rehabilitation program consisted of physiotherapy,occupational therapy,speech therapy,acupuncture and moxibustion.Average rehabilitation training time was 2.5 hours/day.Barthel Index and modified Rankin Scale scores were increased at discharge.Six months after discharge,the degree of occupational and economic satisfaction declined,and there were no changes in family life satisfaction.The degrees of other life satisfaction(such as friendship) improved.The degree of disability and functional status improved significantly in young stroke patients after professional rehabilitation,but the number of patients who returned to society within 6 months after stroke was still small.Chao-jin-zi Li Xiao-xia Du Kun Yang Lu-ping Song Peng-kun Li Qiang Wang Rong Sun Xiao-ling Lin Hong-yu Lu Tong Zhang 2016Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,11:11
8Diagnostic value of elevated serum carbohydrate antigen 199 level in acute cholangitis secondary to choledocholithiasis显示文摘AIM To investigate the diagnostic value of abnormal serum carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199) level in acute cholangitis secondary to choledocholithiasis.METHODS In this retrospective cohort study, the clinical data of 727 patients with choledocholithiasis admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical College from June 2011 to June 2017 were collected. Among these patients, 258 patients had secondary acute cholangitis and served as observation group, and the remaining 569 choledocholithiasis patients served as the control group. Serum liver function indexes and tumor markers were detected in both groups, and the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were constructed for markers showing statistical significances. The cutoff value, sensitivity, and specificity of each marker were calculated according to the ROC curves. RESULTS The results of liver function tests showed no significant differences between the two groups(P > 0.05). Tumor markers including serum CA125, CA153, carcinoembryonic antigen, and alpha fetoprotein levels were also not significantly different(P > 0.05); however, the serum CA199 level was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P < 0.05). The ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve was 0.885(95%CI: 0.841-0.929) for CA199, and the cutoff value of 52.5 kU/L had the highest diagnostic accuracy, with a sensitivity of 86.8% and a specificity of 81.6%.CONCLUSION Abnormally elevated serum CA199 level has an important value in the diagnosis of acute cholangitis secondary to choledocholithiasis. 9Radiomics for the detection of microvascular invasion in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common primary liver cancer,accounting for about 90%of liver cancer cases.It is currently the fifth most common cancer in the world and the third leading cause of cancer-related mortality.Moreover,recurrence of HCC is common.Microvascular invasion(MVI)is a major factor associated with recurrence in postoperative HCC.It is difficult to evaluate MVI using traditional imaging modalities.Currently,MVI is assessed primarily through pathological and immunohistochemical analyses of postoperative tissue samples.Needle biopsy is the primary method used to confirm MVI diagnosis before surgery.As the puncture specimens represent just a small part of the tumor,and given the heterogeneity of HCC,biopsy samples may yield false-negative results.Radiomics,an emerging,powerful,and non-invasive tool based on various imaging modalities,such as computed tomography,magnetic resonance imaging,ultrasound,and positron emission tomography,can predict the HCC-MVI status preoperatively by delineating the tumor and/or the regions at a certain distance from the surface of the tumor to extract the image features.Although positive results have been reported for radiomics,its drawbacks have limited its clinical translation.This article reviews the application of radiomics,based on various imaging modalities,in preoperative evaluation of HCC-MVI and explores future research directions that facilitate its clinical translation.Kun Lv Xin Cao Peng Du Jun-Yan Fu Dao-Ying Geng Jun Zhang 2022World Journal of Gastroenterology2022,28,20:9
10Comparison of Two Methods to Assess the Size Structure of Phytoplankton Community Assemblages, in Liaodong Bay, China显示文摘Liaodong Bay is one of the largest semi-enclosed bays located in Bohai Sea,in northeast China.It is an important feeding and spawning place,even wintering and breeding migration base for many marine organisms.The size structure of phytoplankton communities is a key feature of marine ecosystems and can be used as an indicator for algae disaster,but the methods to evalute is still challenging.Here,we compared the size-fractionated chlorophyll-a method with a high-throughout sequencing method in an evaluation of the size structure of phytoplankton assemblages in Liaodong Bay,China,in 2014.The proportion of picophytoplankton was estimated at just 19%according to the results based on size-fractionated chlorophyll-a,which likely represents a severe underestimation.The sequencing method confirmed that many kinds of phytoplankton species appeared in more than one size-fractionated filter membrane,with some even dominating where the filter membrane pore size was greater than the individual phytoplankton size.According to the sequencing method,the phytoplankton assemblages in Liaodong Bay were dominated by picophytoplankton(average proportion=44%),followed by the nanophytoplankton(average 32%),a composition that is more consistent with other studies.The sequencing method provides a more robust way to assess the size structure and taxonomic diversity of marine phytoplankton communities.SONG Lun WU Jing DU Jing LI Nan WANG Kun WANG Peng 2019Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,5:8
11Combination of serum gamma-glutamyltransferase and alkaline phosphatase in predicting the diagnosis of asymptomatic choledocholithiasis secondary to cholecystolithiasis显示文摘BACKGROUND Gamma-glutamyltransferase(GGT) is one of the most important laboratory tests for the evaluation of liver damage. Through a long-term clinical observation of patients with secondary asymptomatic choledocholithiasis, we found that most patients had abnormal GGT serum levels.AIM To investigate the combination of serum GGT and alkaline phosphatase(ALP) in predicting the diagnosis of asymptomatic choledocholithiasis secondary to cholecystolithiasis.METHODS In this retrospective cohort study, the clinical data of 829 patients with cholecystolithiasis admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical College from August 2014 to August 2017 were collected. Among these patients,151 patients had secondary asymptomatic choledocholithiasis and served as the observation group, and the remaining 678 cholecystolithiasis patients served as the control group. Serum liver function indexes were detected in both groups,and the receiver operating characteristic(commonly known as ROC) curves were constructed for markers showing statistical significances. The cutoff value,sensitivity, and specificity of each marker were calculated according to the ROC curves.RESULTS The overall incidence of asymptomatic choledocholithiasis secondary to cholecystolithiasis was 18.2%. The results of liver function indexes including serum aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, direct bilirubin and total bilirubin levels showed no significant differences between the two groups(P> 0.05). However, the serum GGT and ALP levels were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P < 0.05). The ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve was 0.881(95%CI: 0.830-0.932), 0.647(95%CI: 0.583-0.711) and 0.923(0.892-0.953) for GGT, ALP, and GGT + ALP,respectively. The corresponding cut-off values of GGT and ALP were 95.5 U/L and 151.5 U/L, sensitivity were 90.8% and 65.1%, and specificity were 83.6% and59.8%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of GGT + ALP were 93.5% and85.1%, respectively.CONCLUSION An abnormally elevated serum GGT level has an important value in the diagnosis of asymptomatic choledocholithiasis secondary to cholecystolithiasis.The combination of serum GGT and ALP has better diagnostic performance. 13Preparation of the UPOV Guidelines for the Conduct of Tests for Distinctness, Uniformity and Stability–Tea Plant [Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze]显示文摘Distinctness, Uniformity and Stability (DUS) testing is the technical base of Plant Variety Protection (PVP) and the scientific basis for the approval of Plant Breeder’s Rights (PBR). DUS Test Guidelines are not only the technical manuals for the DUS testing authorities to conduct the testing, but also the technical standards for the competent authorities to examine the DUS of new varieties of plants. Tea plant, originated from Yunnan Province, China, is a very important woody cash species in the world. The International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) DUS Test Guidelines for tea plant is the first Test Guidelines prepared by China for the UPOV. In this article, the subject, selection, and determination of characteristics, states of expression of characteristics and the selection of example varieties, assessment of the UPOV DUS Test Guidelines for tea plant were elucidated in detail. Finally, the proposal of PVP for tea plant in China was also proposed. 15Feature extraction for target identification and image classification of OMIS hyperspectral image显示文摘In order to combine feature extraction operations with specific hyperspectral remote sensing information processing objectives,two aspects of feature extraction were explored. Based on clustering and decision tree algorithm,spectral absorption index (SAI),continuum-removal and derivative spectral analysis were employed to discover characterized spectral features of different targets,and decision trees for identifying a specific class and discriminating different classes were generated. By combining support vector machine (SVM) classifier with different feature extraction strategies including principal component analysis (PCA),minimum noise fraction (MNF),grouping PCA,and derivate spectral analysis,the performance of feature extraction approaches in classification was evaluated. 16Effect of Electro-acupuncture on Vasomotor Symptoms in Rats with Acute Cerebral Infarction Based on Phosphatidylinositol System显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effect of electro-acupuncture(EA)on vasomotor symptoms in rats with acute cerebral infarction,by observing the changes in the expression of factors related to the phosphatidylinositol(PI)system.Methods:Forty-two Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups by a random number table:the control group(n=6),the model group(n=18)and the EA group(n=18).The EA group was given EA treatment at Shuigou(GV 26)instantly after modeling with middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)method,while the model and control groups were not given any treatment.The degrees of neurological deficiency were evaluated using neurological severity scores(NSS)and the brain blood flow was evaluated by a laser scanning confocal microscope.Western blot analysis was conducted to detect the expression levels of G-protein subtype(Gq)and calmodulin(CaM).Competition for protein binding was conducted to detect the expression level of inositol triphosphate(IP3).Thin layer quantitative analysis was conducted to detect the expression level of diacylglycerol(DAG).The expression level of intracellular concentration of free calcium ion([Ca^(2+)]i)was detected by flow cytometry.Results:The NSS of the model group was significantly higher than the control group at 3 and 6 h after MCAO(P<0.01),while the EA group was significantly lower than the model group at 6 h(P<0.01).The cerebral blood flow in the model group was significantly lower than the control group at 1,3 and 6 h after MCAO(P<0.01),while for the EA group it was remarkably higher than the model group at the same time points(P<0.01).The expressions of Gq,CaM,IP3,DAG and[Ca^(2+)]i in the model group were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01),and those in the EA group were significantly lower than the model group at the same time points(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion:EA treatment at GV 26 can effectively decrease the over-expression of related factors of PI system in rats with acute cerebral infarction,improve cerebral autonomy movement,and alleviate cerebral vascular spasm.LI Jing HE Ying DU Yuan-hao ZHANG Min Rainer Georgi Bernhard Kolberg SUN Dong-wei MA Kun LI Yong-feng ZHANG Xue-zhu 2022Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2022,28,2:7

20Sedimentary filling and sequence structure dominated by T-R cycles of the Nenjiang Formation in the Songliao Basin显示文摘The Nenjiang Formation in the Songliao Basin is a symmetrical sequence of progradation-retrogradation,and is formed in the transgression cycle and regression cycle(T-R cycles)of the base level of deposition.We analyzed the drilling,well logging,core data,and seismic profiles of basin level,and by using the sequence stratigraphy,identified one secondary sequence boundary,two third-order sequence boundaries,and eight fourth-order sequence boundaries in the Nenjiang Formation.These eleven sequence boundaries can be divided into structural unconformity,depositional unconformity,flooding surface,and forced regression surface.Therefore the Nenjiang Formation can be subdivided into one secondary sequence,three third-order sequences,and ten fourth-order sequences.We have restored the sedimentary filling evolution within the stratigraphic framework of fourth-order sequences in the Nenjiang Formation.The sedimentary period of the first member of the Nenjiang Formation was corresponded to the global transgression period,which is also the development period of transgression cycle(T cycle),when the lake basin had the largest scope and deepest sedimentary water,the SB07(the maximum flooding surface)was formed on the top of strata during this period;covering above the SB07,there developed a set of condensation layer-oil shale,which is distributed in the whole basin and is the important source bed and regional cover.Therefore,a retrogradation sequence was formed in the T cycle of the first member of the Nenjiang Formation,characterized by the retrograding delta at a low angle.The delta has a giant front,a small plain,and many underwater distributary channels.Meanwhile,large gravity flow channels and sublacustrine fans are developed in the front of the delta.During the depositional period of the second member of the Nenjiang Formation,the R cycle began to develop due to the compression of the pacific tectonic domain;the source direction rotated 90°along with the eastern uplifting of the basin,and formed a series of east-west prograded and forced retrogradations.The prograding delta at high angel was developed in the interior of the sequence;the delta had a small front,a giant plain,and fewer underwater distributary channels,with the collapse at the foreslope,forming a series of slump fans.The slump fans can be divided into three types:discrete type,superimposed type,and fluid type.We built a whole'triad model'of the slump fan.Pointed out that the sequence of forced retrogradation formed by R cycle is a good structural mark of basin optimization,and rejected the viewpoint of'transgression'in the Nenjiang Formation of the Songliao Basin.ZHANG ChenChen ZHANG Shun WEI Wei WU ChaoDong LIANG JiangPing NIU Wen DU JinXia FU XiuLi CUI KunNing WANG Chao WANG Hui 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,2:5
