Measurements of dihadron correlations relative to the event plane in Au+Au collisions at√^(S)NN=200 GeV显示文摘Dihadron azimuthal correlations containing a high transverse momentum(pr)trigger particle are sensit-ive to the properties of the nuclear medium created at RHIC through the strong interactions occurring between the traversing parton and the medium,ie.jet-quenching.Previous measurements revealed a strong modification to di-hadron azimuthal correlations in Au+Au collisions with respect to ptp and d+Au collisions. The modification in-creases with the collision centrality, suggesting a path-length or energy density dependence to the je-quenching ef-fect.This paper reports STAR measurements of dihadron azimuthal correlations in mid-central(20%-60%)Au+Au collisions at√^(S)NN=200 GeV as a function of the trigger particle's azimuthal angle relative to the event plane,Ф_(s)=|Ф_(t)-ψ_(Ep)|.The azimuthal correlation is studied as a function of both the trigger and associated particle pr.The subtractions of the combinatorial background and anisotropic flow, assuming Zero Yield At Minimum(ZYAM),are described. The correlation results are first discussed with subtraction of the even harmonic(elliptic and quadrangu-lar)flow backgrounds. The away-side correlation is strongly modifed, and the modification varies withФ_(s),with a double-peak structure for out-of-plane trigger particles. The near-side ridge(long range pseudo-rapidity△_(η)correla-tion)appears to drop with increasingФ_(s)while the jet-like component remains approximately constant. The correla-tion functions are further studied with the subtraction of odd harmonic triangular flow background arising from fluc-tuations.It is found that the triangular flow, while responsible for the majority of the amplitudes,is not sufficient to explain theφs-dependence of the ridge or the away-side double-peak structure. The dropping ridge withФ_(s)could be attributed to aФ_(s)-dependent lliptie anisotropy;however, the physics mechanism of the ridge remains an open ques-tion.Even with aФ_(s)-dependent elliptic flow, the away-side correlation structure is robust. These results, with extens-ive systematic studies of the dihadron correlations as a function ofФ_(s),trigger and associated particle pT,and the pseudo-rapidity range△_(η),should provide stringent inputs to help understand the underlying physics mechanisms of jet-medium interactions in high energy nuclear collisions. | H.Agakishiev M.M.Aggarwal Z.Ahammed A.V.Alakhverdyants I.Alekseev J.Alford B.D.Anderson C.D.Anson | 2 | Correlation between Porosity and Fracture Mechanism in High Pressure Die Casting of AM60B Alloy显示文摘X-ray tomography was used to characterize the porosity in high pressure die casting of AM60B alloy. In situ tensile deformation was performed to observe the change of porosities and their influences on crack initiation, propagation and subsequent fracture of specimen. Results showed that four types of porosities, including gas-shrinkage pore, gas pore,net-shrinkage and island-shrinkage,could be identified according to the formation mechanism and morphology characterization. During tensile deformation,it was shown that the gas-shrinkage pore and net-shrinkage,rather than gas pore or island-shrinkage,were the main sources for crack initiation. In addition, the crack propagated by interconnecting the porosities at the cross section with minimum efficient force bearing area. At these locations where externally solidified crystals(ESCs) were present, the crack would propagate along the ESC boundaries in an intergranular mode, while at these locations without ESCs,the crack would propagate roughly along the direction perpendicular to the tensile stress in a combination of trans-granular and inter-granular modes. | X.Li S.M.Xiong Z.Guo | 2016 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2016,32,1: | 23
Enhanced strength and ductility of Mg-Gd-Y-Zr alloys by secondary extrusion显示文摘The Mg-12Gd-3Y-0.6Zr(GW123,wt.%)alloy was prepared by cast, and thermo-mechanically treated by single and secondary hot extrusion techniques. The microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of the extruded alloy were investigated. The results show that in different treated conditions the microstructure is mainly composed ofα-Mg solid solution and second phases of Mg_(3)Y_(3)Gd_(2) and Mg_(5)(GdY)precipitates.The best mechanical properties are achieved in the secondary extruded alloy after ageing, with the ultimate tensile strength(UTS),tensile yield strength(TYS)and elongation(ɛ)being 446 MPa,350 MPa and 10.2%at room temperature.A weak texture aligned with〈101¯0〉||ED(extrusion direction)component and spread from〈101¯0〉to〈112¯0〉poles was obtained in secondary extrusion, which is caused by the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization(DRX)in shear bands for texture randomization. The fracture modes in extruded GW123 alloy are mixed pattern of transgranular and intergranular fracture,as well as cleavage fracture. The strengthening mechanisms were quantitatively analysed from the different aspects using the measured microstructural parameters. The grain boundaries and solid solution strengthening were the main contributors to the high tensile strength of the GW123 alloy. | X.Li W.Qi K.Zheng N.Zhou | 2013 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2013,1,1: | 21
In Vitro Evaluation of the Feasibility of Commercial Zn Alloys as Biodegradable Metals显示文摘In this work, three widely used commercial Zn alloys(ZA4-1, ZA4-3, ZA6-1) were purchased and prepared by hot extrusion at 200 °C. The microstructure, mechanical properties, corrosion behaviors, biocompatibility and hemocompatibility of Zn alloys were studied with pure Zn as control. Commercial Zn alloys demonstrated increased strength and superb elongation compared with pure Zn. Accelerated corrosion rates and uniform corrosion morphologies were observed in terms of commercial Zn alloys due to galvanic effects between Zn matrix and α-Al phases. 100% extracts of ZA4-1 and ZA6-1 alloys showed mild cytotoxicity while 50% extracts of all samples displayed good biocompatibility. Retardant cell cycle and inhibited stress fibers expression were observed induced by high concentration of Zn^(2+) releasing during corrosion. The hemolysis ratios of Zn alloys were lower than 1% while the adhered platelets showed slightly activated morphologies. In general, commercial Zn alloys possess promising mechanical properties, appropriate corrosion rates, significantly improved biocompatibility and good hemocompatibility in comparison to pure Zn. It is feasible to develop biodegradable metals based on commercial Zn alloys. | C.Wang H.T.Yang X.Li Y.F.Zheng | 2016 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2016,32,9: | 21
Influence of alloy element partitioning on strength of primary α phase in Ti-6Al-4V alloy显示文摘The partitioning effect of Al(α-phase stabilizer) and V elements(β-phase stabilizer) on strength of the primary α phases in the α/β Ti-6 Al-4 V alloy with the bimodal microstructure was investigated. It was found that partitioning of Al and V elements took place in the Ti-6 Al-4 V alloy during the recrystallization process, leading to the variation of the content of Al and V elements in the primary α phases with changing the volume fraction of the primary α phase.Nanoindentation tests reveal a general trend that the strength of the primary α phases increases with decreasing the volume fraction of the primary α phases, and such trend is independent on the loading direction relative to the c-axis of the α phase. The enhanced strength is attributed to the increase of the content of Al element in the primary α phase, but it is not dominated evidently by the change of the V content. The solid solution strengthening contributed from both the elastic strain introduced by the solute atoms and the variation of the density of states was estimated theoretically. | L.R.Zeng H.L.Chen X.Li L.M.Lei G.P.Zhang | 2018 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,5: | 6
Methods for a blind analysis of isobar data collected by the STAR collaboration显示文摘In 2018,the STAR collaboration collected data from^(96)_(44)Ru+^(96)_(44)Ru and^(96)_(40)Zr+^(96)_(40)Zr at√^(S)NN=200 Ge V to search for the presence of the chiral magnetic effect in collisions of nuclei. The isobar collision species alternated frequently between 9644 Ru+^(96)_(44)Ru and^(96)_(40)Zr+^(96)_(40)Zr.In order to conduct blind analyses of studies related to the chiral magnetic effect in these isobar data,STAR developed a three-step blind analysis procedure.Analysts are initially provided a'reference sample'of data, comprised of a mix of events from the two species, the order of which respects time-dependent changes in run conditions. After tuning analysis codes and performing time-dependent quality assurance on the reference sample, analysts are provided a species-blind sample suitable for calculating efficiencies and corrections for individual≈30-min data-taking runs. For this sample,species-specific information is disguised, but individual output files contain data from a single isobar species.Only run-by-run corrections and code alteration subsequent to these corrections are allowed at this stage.Following these modifications, the'frozen'code is passed over the fully un-blind data, completing the blind analysis. As a check of the feasibility of the blind analysis procedure, analysts completed a'mock data challenge,'analyzing data from Au+Au collisions at√^(S)NN=27 Ge V,collected in 2018.The Au+Au data were prepared in the same manner intended for the isobar blind data. The details of the blind analysis procedure and results from the mock data challenge are presented. | J.Adam L.Adamczyk J.R.Adams J.K.Adkins G.Agakishiev M.M.Aggarwal Z.Ahammed | 9 | Efficient ozonation of reverse osmosis concentrates from petroleum refinery wastewater using composite metal oxideloaded alumina显示文摘Novel Mn–Fe–Mg-and Mn–Fe–Ce-loaded alumina(Mn–Fe–Mg/Al_2O_3 and Mn–Fe–Ce/Al_2O_3) were developed to catalytically ozonate reverse osmosis concentrates generated from petroleum refinery wastewaters(PRW-ROC). Highly dispersed 100–300-nm deposits of composite multivalent metal oxides of Mn(Mn^(2+)), Mn^(3+),and Mn^(4+), Fe(Fe^(2+))and Fe^(3+) and Mg(Mg^(2+)), or Ce(Ce^(4+)) were achieved on Al_2O_3 supports. The developed Mn–Fe–Mg/Al_2O_3 and Mn–Fe–Ce/Al_2O_3 exhibited higher catalytic activity during the ozonation of PRW-ROC than Mn–Fe/Al_2O_3, Mn/Al_2O-3, Fe/Al_2O_3, and Al_2O_3. Chemical oxygen demand removal by Mn–Fe–Mg/Al_2O_3-or Mn–Fe–Ce/Al_2O_3-catalyzed ozonation increased by 23.9% and23.2%, respectively, in comparison with single ozonation.Mn–Fe–Mg/Al_2O_3 and Mn–Fe–Ce/Al_2O_3 notably promoted áOH generation and áOH-mediated oxidation. This study demonstrated the potential use of composite metal oxide-loaded Al_2O_3 in advanced treatment of bio-recalcitrant wastewaters. | Yu Chen Chun-Mao Chen Brandon A.Yoza Qing X.Li Shao-Hui Guo Ping Wang Shi-Jie Dong Qing-Hong Wang | 2017 | Petroleum Science2017,14,3: | 2
Measurement of away-side broadening with self-subtraction of flow in Au+Au collisions at √sNN=200 GeV显示文摘High transverse momentum(pT)particle production is suppressed owing to the parton(jet)energy loss in the hot dense medium created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.Redistribution of energy at low-to-modest pT has been difficult to measure,owing to large anisotropic backgrounds.We report a data-driven method for background evaluation and subtraction,exploiting the away-side pseudorapidity gaps,to measure the jetlike correlation shape in Au+Au collisions at √sNN=200 GeV in the STAR experiment.The correlation shapes,for trigger particles pT>3GeV/c and various associated particle pT ranges within 0.5 | L.Adamczyk J.R.Adams J.K.Adkins G.Agakishiev M.M.Aggarwal Z.Ahammed I.Alekseev D.M.Anderson A.Aparin E.C.Aschenauer M.U.Ashraf F.G.Atetalla A.Attri G.S.Averichev V.Bairathi K.Barish A.Behera R.Bellwied A.Bhasin J.Bielcik J.Bielcikova L.C.Bland I.G.Bordyuzhin J.D.Brandenburg A.V.Brandin J.Butterworth H.Caines M.Calderón de la Barca Sánchez D.Cebra I.Chakaberia P.Chaloupka B.K.Chan F-H.Chang Z.Chang N.Chankova-Bunzarova A.Chatterjee D.Chen J.H.Chen X.Chen Z.Chen J.Cheng M.Cherney M.Chevalier S.Choudhury W.Christie X.Chu H.J.Crawford M.Csanád M.Daugherity T.G.Dedovich I.M.Deppner A.A.Derevschikov L.Didenko X.Dong J.L.Drachenberg J.C.Dunlop T.Edmonds N.Elsey J.Engelage G.Eppley S.Esumi O.Evdokimov A.Ewigleben O.Eyser R.Fatemi S.Fazio P.Federic J.Fedorisin C.J.Feng Y.Feng P.Filip E.Finch Y.Fisyak A.Francisco L.Fulek C.A.Gagliardi T.Galatyuk F.Geurts A.Gibson K.Gopal D.Grosnick W.Guryn A.I.Hamad A.Hamed S.Harabasz J.W.Harris S.He W.He X.H.He S.Heppelmann S.Heppelmann N.Herrmann E.Hoffman L.Holub Y.Hong S.Horvat Y.Hu H.Z.Huang S.L.Huang T.Huang X.Huang T.J.Humanic P.Huo G.Igo D.Isenhower W.W.Jacobs C.Jena A.Jentsch Y.JI J.Jia K.Jiang S.Jowzaee X.Ju E.G.Judd S.Kabana M.L.Kabir S.Kagamaster D.Kalinkin K.Kang D.Kapukchyan K.Kauder H.W.Ke D.Keane A.Kechechyan M.Kelsey Y.V.Khyzhniak D.P.Kikoła C.Kim B.Kimelman D.Kincses T.A.Kinghorn I.Kisel A.Kiselev M.Kocan L.Kochenda L.K.Kosarzewski L.Kramarik P.Kravtsov K.Krueger N.Kulathunga Mudiyanselage L.Kumar S.Kumar R.Kunnawalkam Elayavalli J.H.Kwasizur R.Lacey S.Lan J.M.Landgraf J.Lauret A.Lebedev R.Lednicky J.H.Lee Y.H.Leung C.Li W.Li W.Li X.Li Y.Li Y.Liang R.Licenik T.Lin Y.Lin M.A.Lisa F.Liu H.Liu P.Liu P.Liu T.Liu X.Liu Y.Liu Z.Liu T.Ljubicic W.J.Llope R.S.Longacre N.S.Lukow S.Luo X.Luo G.L.Ma L.Ma R.Ma Y.G.Ma N.Magdy R.Majka D.Mallick S.Margetis C.Markert H.S.Matis J.A.Mazer N.G.Minaev S.Mioduszewski B.Mohanty I.Mooney Z.Moravcova D.A.Morozov M.Nagy J.D.Nam Nasim Md K.Nayak D.Neff J.M.Nelson D.B.Nemes M.Nie G.Nigmatkulov T.Niida L.V.Nogach T.Nonaka A.S.Nunes G.Odyniec A.Ogawa S.Oh V.A.Okorokov B.S.Page R.Pak A.Pandav Y.Panebratsev B.Pawlik D.Pawlowska H.Pei C.Perkins L.Pinsky R.L.Pintér J.Pluta J.Porter M.Posik N.K.Pruthi M.Przybycien J.Putschke H.Qiu A.Quintero S.K.Radhakrishnan S.Ramachandran R.L.Ray R.Reed H.G.Ritter O.V.Rogachevskiy J.L.Romero L.Ruan J.Rusnak N.R.Sahoo H.Sako S.Salur J.Sandweiss S.Sato W.B.Schmidke N.Schmitz B.R.Schweid F.Seck J.Seger M.Sergeeva R.Seto P.Seyboth N.Shah E.Shahaliev P.V.Shanmuganathan M.Shao A.I.Sheikh F.Shen W.Q.Shen S.S.Shi Q.Y.Shou E.P.Sichtermann R.Sikora M.Simko J.Singh S.Singha N.Smirnov W.Solyst P.Sorensen H.M.Spinka B.Srivastava T.D.S.Stanislaus M.Stefaniak D.J.Stewart M.Strikhanov B.Stringfellow A.A.P.Suaide M.Sumbera B.Summa X.M.Sun X.Sun Y.Sun Y.Sun B.Surrow D.N.Svirida P.Szymanski A.H.Tang Z.Tang A.Taranenko T.Tarnowsky J.H.Thomas A.R.Timmins D.Tlusty M.Tokarev C.A.Tomkiel S.Trentalange R.E.Tribble P.Tribedy S.K.Tripathy O.D.Tsai Z.Tu T.Ullrich D.G.Underwood I.Upsal G.Van Buren J.Vanek A.N.Vasiliev I.Vassiliev F.Videbæk S.Vokal S.A.Voloshin F.Wang G.Wang J.S.Wang P.Wang Y.Wang Y.Wang Z.Wang J.C.Webb P.C.Weidenkaff L.Wen G.D.Westfall H.Wieman S.W.Wissink R.Witt Y.Wu Z.G.Xiao G.Xie W.Xie H.Xu N.Xu Q.H.Xu Y.F.Xu Y.Xu Z.Xu Z.Xu C.Yang Q.Yang S.Yang Y.Yang Z.Yang Z.Ye Z.Ye L.Yi K.Yip H.Zbroszczyk W.Zha C.Zhang D.Zhang S.Zhang S.Zhang X.P.Zhang Y.Zhang Y.Zhang Z.J.Zhang Z.Zhang Z.Zhang J.Zhao C.Zhong C.Zhou X.Zhu Z.Zhu M.Zurek M.Zyzak | 2020 | Chinese Physics C2020,44,10: | 2
Observation of the Crab Nebula with LHAASO-KM2A−a performance study显示文摘A sub-array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory(LHAASO),KM2A is mainly designed to observe a large fraction of the northern sky to hunt for γ-ray sources at energies above 10 TeV.Even though the detector construction is still underway,half of the KM2A array has been operating stably since the end of 2019.In this paper,we present the KM2A data analysis pipeline and the first observation of the Crab Nebula,a standard candle in very high energy γ-ray astronomy.We detect γ-ray signals from the Crab Nebula in both energy ranges of 10-100 TeV and>100 TeV with high significance,by analyzing the KM2A data of 136 live days between December 2019 and May 2020.With the observations,we test the detector performance,including angular resolution,pointing accuracy and cosmic-ray background rejection power.The energy spectrum of the Crab Nebula in the energy range 10-250 TeV fits well with a single power-law function dN/dE=(1.13±0.05stat±0.08sys)×10^(-14).(E/20 TeV)-309±0.06stat±0.02syscm^(-2) s^(-1) TeV^(-1).It is consistent with previous measurements by other experiments.This opens a new window of γ-ray astronomy above 0.1 PeV through which new ultrahigh-energy γ-ray phenomena,such as cosmic PeVatrons,might be discovered. | F.Aharonian Q.An Axikegu L.X.Bai Y.X.Bai Y.W.Bao D.Bastieri X.J.Bi Y.J.Bi H.Cai J.T.Cai Z.Cao J.Chang J.F.Chang X.C.Chang B.M.Chen J.Chen L.Chen M.J.Chen M.L.Chen Q.H.Chen S.H.Chen S.Z.Chen T.L.Chen X.L.Chen Y.Chen N.Cheng Y.D.Cheng S.W.Cui X.H.Cui Y.D.Cui B.Z.Dai H.L.Dai Z.G.Dai D.della Volpe B.D'Ettorre Piazzoli X.J.Dong J.H.Fan Y.Z.Fan Z.X.Fan J.Fang K.Fang C.F.Feng L.Feng S.H.Feng Y.L.Feng B.Gao C.D.Gao Q.Gao W.Gao M.M.Ge L.S.Geng G.H.Gong Q.B.Gou M.H.Gu J.G.Guo X.L.Guo Y.Q.Guo Y.Y.Guo Y.A.Han H.H.He H.N.He J.C.He S.L.He X.B.He Y.He M.Heller Y.K.Hor C.Hou X.Hou H.B.Hu S.Hu S.C.Hu X.J.Hu D.H.Huang Q.L.Huang W.H.Huang X.T.Huang Z.C.Huang F.Ji X.L.Ji H.Y.Jia K.Jiang Z.J.Jiang C.Jin D.Kuleshov K.Levochkin B.B.Li C.Li F.Li H.B.Li H.C.Li H.Y.Li J.Li K.Li W.L.Li X.Li X.R.Li Y.Li Y.Z.Li Z.Li E.W.Liang Y.F.Liang S.J.Lin B.Liu C.Liu D.Liu H.Liu H.D.Liu J.Liu J.L.Liu J.S.Liu J.Y.Liu M.Y.Liu R.Y.Liu S.M.Liu W.Liu Y.N.Liu Z.X.Liu W.J.Long R.Lu H.K.Lv B.Q.Ma L.L.Ma X.H.Ma J.R.Mao A.Masood W.Mitthumsiri T.Montaruli Y.C.Nan B.Y.Pang P.Pattarakijwanich Z.Y.Pei M.Y.Qi D.Ruffolo V.Rulev A.Sáiz L.Shao O.Shchegolev X.D.Sheng J.R.Shi H.C.Song Yu.V.Stenkin V.Stepanov Q.N.Sun X.N.Sun Z.B.Sun P.H.T.Tam Z.B.Tang W.W.Tian B.D.Wang C.Wang H.Wang H.G.Wang J.C.Wang J.S.Wang L.P.Wang L.Y.Wang R.N.Wang W.Wang X.G.Wang X.J.Wang X.Y.Wang Y.D.Wang Y.J.Wang Y.P.Wang Z.Wang Z.H.Wang Z.X.Wang D.M.Wei J.J.Wei Y.J.Wei T.Wen C.Y.Wu H.R.Wu S.Wu W.X.Wu X.F.Wu S.Q.Xi J.Xia J.J.Xia G.M.Xiang G.Xiao H.B.Xiao G.G.Xin Y.L.Xin Y.Xing D.L.Xu R.X.Xu L.Xue D.H.Yan C.W.Yang F.F.Yang J.Y.Yang L.L.Yang M.J.Yang R.Z.Yang S.B.Yang Y.H.Yao Z.G.Yao Y.M.Ye L.Q.Yin N.Yin X.H.You Z.Y.You Y.H.Yu Q.Yuan H.D.Zeng T.X.Zeng W.Zeng Z.K.Zeng M.Zha X.X.Zhai B.B.Zhang H.M.Zhang H.Y.Zhang J.L.Zhang J.W.Zhang L.Zhang L.X.Zhang P.F.Zhang P.P.Zhang R.Zhang S.R.Zhang S.S.Zhang X.Zhang X.P.Zhang Y.Zhang Y.F.Zhang Y.L.Zhang B.Zhao J.Zhao L.Zhao L.Z.Zhao S.P.Zhao F.Zheng Y.Zheng B.Zhou H.Zhou J.N.Zhou P.Zhou R.Zhou X.X.Zhou C.G.Zhu F.R.Zhu H.Zhu K.J.Zhu X.Zuo | 2021 | Chinese Physics C2021,45,2: | 2
