| 1 | Mapping wetland changes in China between 1978 and 2008显示文摘Four wetland maps for all China have been produced,based on Landsat and CBERS-02B remote sensing data between 1978 and 2008 (1978,1990,2000 and 2008).These maps were mainly developed by manual interpretation and validated by substantial field investigation in 2009.Based on these maps,we analyzed the 2008 wetland distribution in China and discussed wetland changes and their drivers over the past 30 years.(i) There were about 324097 km 2 of wetlands in 2008,for which inland marshes or swamps were the most common wetland type (35%),with lakes (26%) second.Most of the wetlands were in Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai and Tibet,occupying about 55% of the national wetland area.(ii) From 1978 to 2008,China's wetland area continually and significantly decreased,by about 33% based on changes in the wetland map.This was in sharp contrast to the increase in artificial wetlands,which increased by about 122%.Inland marshes accounted for the main loss of total wetlands from 1978 to 2000.From 2000 through 2008,riverine and lacustrine wetlands constituted the main wetland loss.Fortunately however,the rate of wetland loss decreased from 5523 to 831 km 2 /a.(iii) The change ratio of lost natural wetlands (including inland and coastal wetlands) to non-wetlands has decreased slightly over the past 30 years.From 1978 to 1990,nearly all natural wetlands (98%) lost were transformed into non-wetlands.However,the ratio declined to 86% from 1990 to 2000,and to 77% from 2000 to 2008.(iv) All Chinese provinces were divided into three groups according to patterns of wetland changes,which could relate to the driving forces of such changes.Tibet was completely different from other provinces,as it was one representative example in which there was a net wetland increase,because of global warming and decreased human activity since 1990.Increased economic development caused considerable wetland loss in most eastern provinces,and artificial wetlands increased. | NIU ZhenGuo ZHANG HaiYing WANG XianWei YAO WenBo ZHOU DeMin ZHAO KuiYi ZHAO Hui LI NaNa HUANG HuaBing LI CongCong YANG Jun LIU CaiXia LIU Shuang WANG Lin LI Zhan YANG ZhenZhong QIAO Fei ZHENG YaoMin CHEN YanLei SHENG YongWei GAO XiaoHong ZHU WeiHong WANG WenQing WANG Hong WENG YongLing ZHUANG DaFang LIU JiYuan LUO ZhiCai CHENG Xiao GUO ZiQi GONG Peng | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,22: | 51 |

| 3 | The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. | 4 | Obtained transgenic wheat expressing pac1 mediated by Agrobacterium is resistant against Barley yellow dwarf virus-GPV显示文摘In fission yeast (Schizosaccharomyces pombe), pac1 gene was cloned with 99.3% nucleo- tide sequence similarity with published pac1 in GenBank. In pET-5α expression system, the expres- sion product of cloned pac1 in E. coli showed activity to degrade the double-strand RNA. Harboring the binary vector pBI121, which contains pac1 gene, Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain LBA4404 was used to transform the wheat immature embryos pre- cultured 7―10 d. After preregeneration, regeneration and selection culture stage, totally 41 G418 resistant plants were obtained, in which 25 lines were proved to integrate with transgene and express transgene normally by PCR, Dot blot, RT-PCR and ELISA de- tection. Antivirus test carried out on 25 positive lines with high dose of Barley yellow dwarf virus-GPV re- vealed that 12 lines had resistance to BVDV-GPV in low level, another 12 lines had resistance to BVDV- GPV in middle level, and 1 line showed resistance to BVDV-GPV in high level. | 7 | Optimal Waist Circumference Cut-off values for Identifying Metabolic Risk Factors in Middle-aged and Elderly Subjects in Shandong Province of China显示文摘Objective To study the optimal waist circumference(WC) cut-off values for identifying metabolic risk factors in middle-aged and elderly subjects in Shandong Province of China. Methods A total of 2 873 men and 5 559 women were included in this cross-sectional study. Metabolic syndrome(MetS) was diagnosed according to the definition of Chinese Diabetes Society in 2004. The relation between WC and MetS was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis. The optimal WC cut-off values were identified using the area under the ROC curve and the different diagnostic criteria for central obesity were compared. Results The WC was the risk factor for MetS independent of BMI, blood glucose, blood lipid, and blood pressure. The optimal WC cut-off value was 83.8 cm and 91.1 cm for identifying MetS in women and men, respectively. Compared with 80 cm and 85 cm for women and men, 85 cm and 90 cm had a higher Youden index for identifying all metabolic risk factors and MetS in women and men. | 9 | The mechanism of Naringin-enhanced remyelination after spinal cord injury显示文摘Our previous study revealed that intragastric administration of naringin improved remyelination in rats with spinal cord injury and promoted the recovery of neurological function of the injured spinal cord.This study sought to reveal the mechanisms by which naringin improves oligodendrocyte precursor cell differentiation and maturation,and promotes remyelination.Spinal cord injury was induced in rats by the weight-drop method.Naringin was intragastrically administered daily(20,40 mg/kg) for 4 weeks after spinal cord injury induction.Behavioral assessment,histopathological staining,immunofluorescence spectroscopy,ultrastructural analysis and biochemical assays were employed.Naringin treatment remarkably mitigated demyelination in the white matter,increased the quality of myelinated nerve fibers and myelin sheath thickness,promoted oligodendrocyte precursor cell differentiation by upregulating the expression of NKx2.2 and 2′3′-cyclic nucleotide 3′-phosphodiesterase,and inhibited β-catenin expression and glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β) phosphorylation.These findings indicate that naringin treatment regulates oligodendrocyte precursor cell differentiation and promotes remyelination after spinal cord injury through the β-catenin/GSK-3β signaling pathway. | Wei Rong Yong-wei Pan Xu Cai Fei Song Zhe Zhao Song-hua Xiao Cheng Zhang | 2017 | Neural Regeneration Research2017,12,3: | 3 |

| 11 | Experimental investigation on the radiation background inside body counters显示文摘In vivo measurement of radioactivity based on various body counters is arguably the leading measure used to determine the distribution and activity of radionuclides in human subjects,such as I-131 in the thyroid,Am-241 in the lungs,and Pb-210 in the skull.Throughout the measurements,the radiation background is the key factor that determines the sensitivity of the counter.Therefore,to facilitate in vivo measurements,a well-designed shielding room is required to create a low-background environment.However,because the compositions of the radiation background are quite complicated,the respective contributions from each source remain obscure,which places a considerable burden on seeking an optimized design of shielding rooms that strikes the optimum balance between the construction cost and background suppression effect.In this study,we conducted a systematic experimental investigation on the radiation background outside and inside four representative body counters with assorted designs using a variety of radiation detectors,including high-purity germanium detectors,CdZnTe detector,radon emanometer,and gamma-ray dosimeter.By carefully controlling the experimental conditions and synergetic analysis of the measurement results,in conjunction with previous studies,we separated and determined the relative contributions induced by environmental radiation(4%),airborne radon and its daughters(2%),the normal radioactivity of human subjects arising from K-40(58%),cosmic rays(12%),and radioactivity in shielding materials and measuring instruments(24%).Furthermore,based on these results,we discuss practical guidelines to design a shielding room for body counters. | Yu Wang Yuan-Yuan Liu Bin Wu Xiang-Peng Meng Jian-Ping Cheng Ying Wang Li-Jiao Wang Yun-Shi Xiao Qin-Jian Cao Jian-Feng Zhang Fei Tuo | 2022 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2022,33,2: | 2 |

| 20 | Heterointerface Engineering of β‑Chitin/Carbon Nano‑Onions/Ni-P Composites with Boosted Maxwell‑Wagner‑Sillars Effect for Highly Efficient Electromagnetic Wave Response and Thermal Management显示文摘The rational construction of microstructure and composition with enhanced Maxwell-Wagner-Sillars effect(MWSE)is still a challenging direction for reinforcing electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption performance,and the related EMW attenuation mechanism has rarely been elucidated.Herein,MWSE boostedβ-chitin/carbon nano-onions/Ni–P composites is prepared according to the heterointerface engineering strategy via facile layer-by-layer electrostatic assembly and electroless plating techniques.The heterogeneous interface is reinforced from the aspect of porous skeleton,nanomaterials and multilayer construction.The composites exhibit competitive EMW response mechanism between the conductive loss and the polarization/magnetic loss,as describing like the story of“The Hare and the Tortoise”.As a result,the composites not only achieve a minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of−50.83 dB and an effective bandwidth of 6.8 GHz,but also present remarkable EMW interference shielding effectiveness of 66.66 dB.In addition,diverse functions such as good thermal insulation,infrared shielding and photothermal performance were also achieved in the hybrid composites as a result of intrinsic morphology and chemicophysics properties.Therefore,we believe that the boosted MWSE open up a novel orientation toward developing multifunctional composites with high-efficient EMW response and thermal management. | Fei Pan Lei Cai Yuyang Shi Yanyan Dong Xiaojie Zhu Jie Cheng Haojie Jiang Xiao Wang Yifeng Jiang Wei Lu | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,5: | 1 |
