1Mapping wetland changes in China between 1978 and 2008显示文摘Four wetland maps for all China have been produced,based on Landsat and CBERS-02B remote sensing data between 1978 and 2008 (1978,1990,2000 and 2008).These maps were mainly developed by manual interpretation and validated by substantial field investigation in 2009.Based on these maps,we analyzed the 2008 wetland distribution in China and discussed wetland changes and their drivers over the past 30 years.(i) There were about 324097 km 2 of wetlands in 2008,for which inland marshes or swamps were the most common wetland type (35%),with lakes (26%) second.Most of the wetlands were in Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai and Tibet,occupying about 55% of the national wetland area.(ii) From 1978 to 2008,China's wetland area continually and significantly decreased,by about 33% based on changes in the wetland map.This was in sharp contrast to the increase in artificial wetlands,which increased by about 122%.Inland marshes accounted for the main loss of total wetlands from 1978 to 2000.From 2000 through 2008,riverine and lacustrine wetlands constituted the main wetland loss.Fortunately however,the rate of wetland loss decreased from 5523 to 831 km 2 /a.(iii) The change ratio of lost natural wetlands (including inland and coastal wetlands) to non-wetlands has decreased slightly over the past 30 years.From 1978 to 1990,nearly all natural wetlands (98%) lost were transformed into non-wetlands.However,the ratio declined to 86% from 1990 to 2000,and to 77% from 2000 to 2008.(iv) All Chinese provinces were divided into three groups according to patterns of wetland changes,which could relate to the driving forces of such changes.Tibet was completely different from other provinces,as it was one representative example in which there was a net wetland increase,because of global warming and decreased human activity since 1990.Increased economic development caused considerable wetland loss in most eastern provinces,and artificial wetlands increased.NIU ZhenGuo ZHANG HaiYing WANG XianWei YAO WenBo ZHOU DeMin ZHAO KuiYi ZHAO Hui LI NaNa HUANG HuaBing LI CongCong YANG Jun LIU CaiXia LIU Shuang WANG Lin LI Zhan YANG ZhenZhong QIAO Fei ZHENG YaoMin CHEN YanLei SHENG YongWei GAO XiaoHong ZHU WeiHong WANG WenQing WANG Hong WENG YongLing ZHUANG DaFang LIU JiYuan LUO ZhiCai CHENG Xiao GUO ZiQi GONG Peng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,22:51
2Integrative lipidomic and transcriptomic study unravels the therapeutic effects of saikosaponins A and D on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)has become one of the most prominent causes of chronic liver diseases and malignancies.However,few therapy has been approved.Radix Bupleuri(RB)is the most frequently used herbal medicine for the treatment of liver diseases.In the current study,we aim to systemically evaluate the therapeutic effects of saikosaponin A(SSa)and saikosaponin D(SSd),the major bioactive monomers in RB,against NAFLD and to investigate the underlying mechanisms.Our results demonstrated that both SSa and SSd improved diet-induced NAFLD.Integrative lipidomic and transcriptomic analysis revealed that SSa and SSd modulated glycerolipid metabolism by regulating related genes,like Lipe and Lipg.SSd profoundly suppressed the fatty acid biosynthesis by downregulating Fasn and Acaca expression and promoted fatty acid degradation by inducing Acox1 and Cpt1 a expression.Bioinformatic analysis further predicted the implication of master transcription factors,including peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha(PPARα),in the protective effects of SSa and SSd.These results were further confirmed in vitro in mouse primary hepatocytes.In summary,our study uncoded the complicated mechanisms underlying the promising anti-steatosis activities of saikosaponins(SSs),and provided critical evidence inspiring the discovery of innovative therapies based on SSa and SSd for the treatment of NAFLD and related complications.Xiaojiaoyang Li Junde Ge Yajing Li Yajie Cai Qi Zheng Nana Huang Yiqing Gu Qi Han Yunqian Li Rong Sun Runping Liu 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,11:15
3Humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants elicited by inactivated and RBD-subunit vaccines显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 variants could induce immune escape by mutations on the receptor-binding domain(RBD)and N-terminal domain(NTD).Here we report the humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants,such as 501Y.V2(B.1.351),of the plasma and neutralizing antibodies(NAbs)elicited by CoronaVac(inactivated vaccine),ZF2001(RBD-subunit vaccine)and natural infection.Among 86 potent NAbs identified by high-throughput single-cell VDJ sequencing of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from vaccinees and convalescents,near half anti-RBD NAbs showed major neutralization reductions against the K417N/E484K/N501Y mutation combination,with E484K being the dominant cause.VH3-53/VH3-66 recurrent antibodies respond differently to RBD variants,and K417N compromises the majority of neutralizing activity through reduced polar contacts with complementarity determining regions.In contrast,the 242–244 deletion(242–244Δ)would abolish most neutralization activity of anti-NTD NAbs by interrupting the conformation of NTD antigenic supersite,indicating a much less diversity of anti-NTD NAbs than anti-RBD NAbs.Plasma of convalescents and CoronaVac vaccinees displayed comparable neutralization reductions against pseudo-and authentic 501Y.V2 variants,mainly caused by E484K/N501Y and 242–244Δ,with the effects being additive.Importantly,RBD-subunit vaccinees exhibit markedly higher tolerance to 501Y.V2 than convalescents,since the elicited anti-RBD NAbs display a high diversity and are unaffected by NTD mutations.Moreover,an extended gap between the third and second doses of ZF2001 leads to better neutralizing activity and tolerance to 501Y.V2 than the standard three-dose administration.Together,these results suggest that the deployment of RBD-vaccines,through a third-dose boost,may be ideal for combating SARS-CoV-2 variants when necessary,especially for those carrying mutations that disrupt the NTD supersite.Yunlong Cao Ayijiang Yisimayi Yali Bai Weijin Huang Xiaofeng Li Zhiying Zhang Tianjiao Yuan Ran An Jing Wang Tianhe Xiao Shuo Du Wenping Ma Liyang Song Yongzheng Li Xiang Li Weiliang Song Jiajing Wu Shuo Liu Xuemei Li Yonghong Zhang Bin Su Xianghua Guo Yangyang Wei Chuanping Gao Nana Zhang Yifei Zhang Yang Dou Xiaoyu Xu Rui Shi Bai Lu Ronghua Jin Yingmin Ma Chengfeng Qin Youchun Wang Yingmei Feng Junyu Xiao Xiaoliang Sunney Xie 2021Cell Research2021,31,7:12

5Transcriptional analysis and histochemistry reveal that hypersensitive cell death and H2O2 have crucial roles in the resistance of tea plant (Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze) to anthracnose显示文摘Anthracnose causes severe losses of tea production in China.Although genes and biological processes involved in anthracnose resistance have been reported in other plants,the molecular response to anthracnose in tea plant is unknown.We used the susceptible tea cultivar Longjing 43 and the resistant cultivar Zhongcha 108 as materials and compared transcriptome changes in the leaves of both cultivars following Colletotrichum fructicola inoculation.In all,9015 and 8624 genes were differentially expressed between the resistant and susceptible cultivars and their controls(0 h),respectively.In both cultivars,the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were enriched in 215 pathways,including responses to sugar metabolism,phytohormones,reactive oxygen species(ROS),biotic stimuli and signalling,transmembrane transporter activity,protease activity and signalling receptor activity,but DEG expression levels were higher in Zhongcha 108 than in Longjing 43.Moreover,functional enrichment analysis of the DEGs showed that hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)metabolism,cell death,secondary metabolism,and carbohydrate metabolism are involved in the defence of Zhongcha 108,and 88 key genes were identified.Protein–protein interaction(PPI)network demonstrated that putative mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)cascades are activated by resistance(R)genes and mediate downstream defence responses.Histochemical analysis subsequently validated the strong hypersensitive response(HR)and H2O2 accumulation that occurred around the hyphal infection sites in Zhongcha 108.Overall,our results indicate that the HR and H2O2 are critical mechanisms in tea plant defence against anthracnose and may be activated by R genes via MAPK cascades.Yuchun Wang Xinyuan Hao Qinhua Lu Lu Wang Wenjun Qian Nana Li Changqing Ding Xinchao Wang Yajun Yang 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:11

8Performance of no-till corn precision planter equipped with row cleaners显示文摘In the continuous annual wheat-corn cropping area of North China Plain,no-till planting that promotes soil conservation and crop yield while reducing operation cost has been gradually accepted by local farmers.However,previous wheat residue is the main limiting factor affecting the performance of existing planters in placing seeds at uniform spacing and optimum depth in residue covered fields.In order to solve this problem,a kind of ground-wheel-driven row cleaner was designed,developed and mounted on row units of a four-row pneumatic precision planter.The planter has two adjacent row units equipped with the newly designed row cleaners and the other two adjacent row units equipped with the commonly used inactive row cleaners.This was used for planting at three forward speeds(4 km/h,6 km/h and 8 km/h)into half residue(HR)and whole residue(WR)plots.The amount of residue removal,seeding depth,emergence rate and indices of uniformity in seed spacing(missing-seeding index,quality of feeding index and precision index)were measured.The newly designed row cleaner performed better with regard to residue removal,with the average percentage of residue cleared as 63.0%compared to 40.3%for the inactive row cleaner.For the HR and WR plots,percentage of residue cleared of the newly designed row cleaner reached 57.1%and 68.9%respectively,suggesting that the newly designed row cleaner can work more effectively at high residue level.By contrast,with the percentage of residue cleared of the inactive row cleaner as 43.1%and 37.5%in HR and WR plots,suggesting that the inactive row cleaner just can work effectively under low residue condition.Values of missing-seeding index,QFI,precision index,coefficient of variation of depth and percent emergence for the newly designed row cleaner under whole residue level are comparable to those for the inactive row cleaner under half residue level.The result indicates that the effect of using the newly designed row cleaner is equal to that of reducing surface residue,and can help to maintain the uniformity of seed spacing and seeding depth.The newly designed row cleaner generally performed better at forward speed of 6 km/h,based on the distribution of seeds along rows and seeding depth uniformity.Yang Li Zhang Rui Gao Nana Cui Tao Liu Quanwei Zhang Dongxing 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,5:9
9An integrated chemical mass balance and source emission inventory model for the source apportionment of PM2.5 in typical coastal areas显示文摘The source apportionment of PM2.5 is essential for pollution prevention.In view of the weaknesses of individual models,we proposed an integrated chemical mass balancesource emission inventory(CMB-SEI)model to acquire more accurate results.First,the SEI of secondary component precursors(SO2,NOx,NH3,and VOCs)was compiled to acquire the emission ratios of these sources for the precursors.Then,a regular CMB simulation was executed to obtain the contributions of primary particle sources and secondary components(SO4^2-,NO3^-3,NH4^+,and SOC).Afterwards,the contributions of secondary components were apportioned into primary sources according to the source emission ratios.The final source apportionment results combined the contributions of primary sources by CMB and SEI.This integrated approach was carried out via a case study of three coastal cities(Zhoushan,Taizhou,and Wenzhou;abbreviated WZ,TZ,and ZS)in Zhejiang Province,China.The regular CMB simulation results showed that PM2.5 pollution was mainly affected by secondary components and mobile sources.The SEI results indicated that electricity,industrial production and mobile sources were the largest contributors to the emission of PM2.5 gaseous precursors.The simulation results of the CMB-SEI model showed that PM2.5 pollution in the coastal areas of Zhejiang Province presented complex pollution characteristics dominated by mobile sources,electricity production sources and industrial production sources.Compared to the results of the CMB and SEI models alone,the CMB-SEI model completely apportioned PM2.5 to primary sources and simultaneously made the results more accurate and reliable in accordance with local industrial characteristics.Nana Cheng Cheng Zhang Deji Jing Wei Li Tianjiao Guo Qiaoli Wang Sujing Li 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,6:8

12Remote sensing-based global crop monitoring: experiences with China’s CropWatch system显示文摘Monitoring the production of main agricultural crops is important to predict and prepare for disruptions in food supply and fluctuations in global crop market prices.China’s global crop-monitoring system(CropWatch)uses remote sensing data combined with selected field data to determine key crop production indicators:crop acreage,yield and production,crop condition,cropping intensity,crop-planting proportion,total food availability,and the status and severity of droughts.Results are combined to analyze the balance between supply and demand for various food crops and if needed provide early warning about possible food shortages.CropWatch data processing is highly automated and the resulting products provide new kinds of inputs for food security assessments.This paper presents a comprehensive overview of CropWatch as a remote sensingbased system,describing its structure,components,and monitoring approaches.The paper also presents examples of monitoring results and discusses the strengths and limitations of the CropWatch approach,as well as a comparison with other global crop-monitoring systems.Bingfang Wu Jihua Meng Qiangzi Li Nana Yan Xin Du Miao Zhang 2014International Journal of Digital Earth2014,7,2:6
13Quantitative analysis of distributed and centralized development of renewable energy显示文摘Global renewable energy has maintained a steady growth in recent years, mainly fostered by national policies and increasing demand. Analyzing the experience of renewable energy development in developed countries can be important to provide reference and guidance for its adoption in other countries. First, we compare and summarize definitions of distributed generation from 18 leading countries and organizations in renewable energy. On this basis, we provide three basic characteristics for successful distributed generation using renewable resources. Then, we empirically analyze the distributed and centralized development of renewable energy in Germany with focus on wind and photovoltaic power. 14Janus electrode with simultaneous management on gas and liquid transport for boosting oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Oxygen reduction efficiency holds the key for renewable energy technologies including fuel cells and metal-air batteries,which involves coupling diffusion-reaction-conduction processes at the interface of catalyst/electrolyte,and thus rational electrode design facilitating mass transportation stands as a key issue for fast oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Herein,we report a Janus electrode with asymmetric wettability prepared by partly modifying aerophobic nitrogen doped carbon nanotube arrays with polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)as a high performance catalytic electrode for ORR.The Janus electrode with opposite wettability on adjacent sides maintains stable gas reservoir in the aerophilic side while shortening O2 pathway to catalysts in the aerophobic side,resulting in superior ORR performance(22.5 mA/cm^2@0.5 V)than merely aerophilic or aerophilic electrodes.The Janus electrode endows catalytic performance even comparable to commercial,Pt/C in the alkali ne electrolyte,exploiting a previously unrecognized opport unity that guides electrode design for the gas-consumption electrocatalysis.Yingjie Li Haichuan Zhang Nana Han Yun Kuang Junfeng Liu Wen Liu Haohong Duan Xiaoming Sun 2019Nano Research2019,12,1:4

17Microcavity top-emission perovskite light-emitting diodes显示文摘Light-emitting diodes(LEDs)based on perovskites show great potential in lighting and display applications.However,although perovskite films with high photoluminescence quantum efficiencies are commonly achieved,the efficiencies of perovskite LEDs are largely limited by the low light out-coupling efficiency.Here,we show that high-efficiency perovskite LEDs with a high external quantum efficiency of 20.2% and an ultrahigh radiant exitance up to 114.9mWcm^(−2) can be achieved by employing the microcavity effect to enhance light extraction.The enhanced microcavity effect and light outcoupling efficiency are confirmed by the study of angle-dependent emission profiles.Our results show that both the optical and electrical properties of the device need to be optimized to achieve high-performance perovskite LEDs.Yanfeng Miao Lu Cheng Wei Zou Lianghui Gu Ju Zhang Qiang Guo Qiming Peng Mengmeng Xu Yarong He Shuting Zhang Yu Cao Renzhi Li Nana Wang Wei Huang Jianpu Wang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:4

19Etching approach to hybrid structures of PtPd nanocages and graphene for efficient oxygen reduction reaction catalysts显示文摘Cathodic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is a highly important electrochemical reaction in renewable-energy technologies. In general, the surface area, exposed facets and electrical conductivity of catalysts all play important roles in determining their electrocatalytic activities, while their performance durability can be improved by integration with supporting materials. In this work we have developed a method to synthesize hybrid structures between PtPd bimetallic nanocages and graphene by employing selective epitaxial growth of single-crystal Pt shells on Pd nanocubes supported on reduced graphene oxide (rGO), followed by Pd etching. The hollow nature, {100} surface facets and bimetallic composition of PtPd nanocages, together with the good conductivity and stability of graphene, enable high electrocatalytic performance in ORR. 20Microbial diversity and functionally distinct groups in produced water from the Daqing Oilfield,China显示文摘The microbial community structure and functionally distinct groups in three kinds of produced water samples from the shallow,mesothermic and low-salinity Daqing oil reservoir were systematically evaluated using both culture-dependent and culture-independent methods.Sequence analysis of the 16S rRNA genes indicated that the bacterial library was dominated by Acinetobacter and Arcobacter and the archaeal community was dominated by Methanosaeta and Methanolinea.Two isolated methanogens were closely related with Methanothermobacter thermautotrophicus and Methanoculleus receptaculi.The fermentative bacteria were identified as Pseudomonas,Haloanaerobium,Alcalibacter,Arcobacter,and Pannonibacter.The predominant nitrate-reducing bacteria fell within the genus Pseudomonas.The dominant members of the cultured hydrocarbon-oxidizing bacteria were phylogenetically associated with Micrococcus,Pseudomonas,and Bacillus.Enrichments of biosurfactants and biopolymer producing groups mainly yielded Pseudomonas,Bacillus,and Acenitobacter-related members.The functional groups related to polymer degradation were also affiliated with Pseudomonas and Bacillus.Results from this study provide the fresh insight into the diversity of microbial communities in Daqing petroleum reservoirs.The vast pool of functional strains retrieved in this study was presumed to include the promising strains that could be applied in microbial-enhanced oil recovery in future.Li Hui Ai Mingqiang Han Siqin Guo Yanling Li Nana Shi Rongjiu Zeng Xiangling Leng Shengbing Zhao Jinyi Liu Xiaobo Zhang Ying 2012Petroleum Science2012,9,4:3
