2Counteraction of ABA-Mediated Inhibition of Seed Germination and Seedling Establishment by ABA Signaling Terminator in Arabidopsis显示文摘Seed germination and seedling establishment are important for the reproductive success of plants,but seeds and seedlings typically encounter constantly changing environmental conditions.By inhibiting seed germination and post-germinative growth through the PYR1/PYL/RCAR ABA receptors and PP2C co-receptors,the phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)prevents premature germination and seedling growth under unfavorable conditions.However,little is known about how the ABA-mediated inhibition of seed germination and seedling establishment is thwarted.Here,we report that ABA Signaling Terminator(ABT),a WD40 protein,efficiently switches off ABA signaling and is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment.ABT is induced by ABA in a PYR1/PYL/RCAR-PP2C-dependent manner.Overexpression of ABT promotes seed germination and seedling greening in the presence of ABA,whereas knockout of ABT has the opposite effect.We found that ABT interacts with the PYR1/PYL/RCAR and PP2C proteins,interferes with the interaction between PYR1/PYL4 and ABI1/ABI2,and hampers the inhibition of ABI1/ABI2 by ABA-bound PYR1/PYL4,thereby terminating ABA signaling.Taken together,our results reveal a core mechanism of ABA signaling termination that is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment in Arabidopsis.Zhijuan Wang Ziyin Ren Chunhong Cheng Tao Wang Hongtao Ji Yang Zhao Zhiping Deng Liya Zhi Jingjing Lu Xinying Wu Shimin Xu Mengmeng Cao Hongtao Zhao Liu Liu Jiankang Zhu Xia Li 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:10
3Optimization of rice wine fermentation process based on the simultaneous saccharification and fermentation kinetic model显示文摘Chinese rice wine making is a typical simultaneous saccharification and fermentation(SSF) process.During the fermentation process,temperature is one of the key parameters which decide the quality of Chinese rice wine.To optimize the SSF process for Chinese rice wine brewing,the effects of temperature on the kinetic parameters of yeast growth and ethanol production at various temperatures were determined in batch cultures using a mathematical model.The kinetic parameters as a function of temperature were evaluated using the software Origin8.0.Combing these functions with the mathematical model,an appropriate form of the model equations for the SSF considering the effects of temperature were developed.The kinetic parameters were found to fit the experimental data satisfactorily with the developed temperature-dependent model.The temperature profile for maximizing the ethanol production for rice wine fermentation was determined by genetic algorithm.The optimum temperature profile began at a low temperature of 26 °C up to 30 h.The operating temperature increased rapidly to 31.9 °C,and then decreased slowly to 18 °C at 65 h.Thereafter,the temperature was maintained at18 °C until the end of fermentation.A maximum ethanol production of 89.3 g·L^(-1)was attained.Conceivably,our model would facilitate the improvement of Chinese rice wine production at the industrial scale.Dengfeng Liu Hongtao Zhang Chi-Chung Lin Baoguo Xu 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,10:10

5Comparison of the activities of binder-added and binder-free Mo/HZSM-5 catalysts in methane dehydroaromatization at 1073 K in periodic CH_4-H_2 switch operation mode显示文摘Three industry-supplied,well-shaped Mo/HZSM-5 catalysts,two binder-added and one binder-free,were tested for the first time in methane dehydroaromatization to benzene at 1073 K and 10000 mL/(g h)in periodic CH4-H2 switch operation mode,and their catalytic performances were compared with those of three self-prepared,binder-free powder Mo/HZSM-5 catalysts.XRD,27Al NMR,SEM,BET and NH3-TPD characterizations of all the catalysts show that the zeolites in the two binder-added catalysts are comparable to those in the three binder-free powder catalysts in crystallinity,crystal size,micropore volume and Brnsted acidity.The test results,on the other hand,show that the catalytic performances of the two binder-added catalysts are worse than those of the four binder-free catalysts on both catalyst mass and zeolite mass bases.Then,TPO and BET measurements of all spent samples were conducted to get a deep insight into the negative effects of binder addition, and the results suggest that the binder additives functioned mainly to enhance the polyaromatization of formed aromatics to coke on their external surfaces and consequently lower the benzene formation activity and selectivity of the catalyst.Yuebing Xu Hongtao Ma Yo Yamamoto Yoshizo Suzuki Zhanguo Zhang 2012Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,6:7
6Flowering responses to light and temperature显示文摘Light and temperature signals are the most important environmental cues regulating plant growth and development. Plants have evolved various strategies to prepare for, and adapt to environmental changes. Plants integrate environmental cues with endogenous signals to regulate various physiological processes, including flowering time. There are at least five distinct pathways controlling flowering in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana: the photoperiod pathway, the vernalization/thermosensory pathway, the autonomous floral initiation, the gibberellins pathway, and the age pathway. The photoperiod and temperature/vernalization pathways mainly perceive external signals from the environment, while the autonomous and age pathways transmit endogenous cues within plants. In many plant species, floral transition is precisely controlled by light signals(photoperiod) and temperature to optimize seed production in specific environments. The molecular mechanisms by which light and temperature control flowering responses have been revealed using forward and reverse genetic approaches. 7Characteristics of vascular lesions in patients with posterior circulation infarction according to age and region of infarct显示文摘Patients with posterior circulation infarction underwent CT angiography and magnetic resonance angiography. Intracranial and extracranial vasculopathy was evaluated according to age group and location of stroke. Patients aged > 60 years and < 60 years had similar rates of vertebral artery dominance and vertebrobasilar artery developmental or origin anomalies. Vertebrobasilar artery stenosis or occlusion and tortuosity occurred more frequently in patients aged > 60 years than < 60 years. The rates of vertebrobasilar artery anomalies and tortuosity were high in patients with posterior circulation infarction. Vertebrobasilar artery tortuosity occurred more frequently in patients aged > 60 years, whereas vertebrobasilar artery developmental anomalies occurred with similar frequency in patients aged < 60 years and > 60 years. Patients with infarction of the brainstem or cerebellum were more likely to have vertebral artery stenosis or occlusion, basilar artery stenosis or occlusion, vertebral artery dominance or tortuosity, and basilar artery tortuosity, and patients with infarction of the thalamus, medial temporal, or occipital lobes were more likely to have stenosis or occlusion of the vertebral or basilar arteries. 8New molecular method to detect denitrifying anaerobic methane oxidation bacteria from different environmental niches显示文摘The denitrifying anaerobic methane oxidation is an ecologically important process for reducing the potential methane emission into the atmosphere.The responsible bacterium for this process was Candidatus Methylomirabilis oxyfera belonging to the bacterial phylum of NC10.In this study,a new pair of primers targeting all the five groups of NC10 bacteria was designed to amplify NC10 bacteria from different environmental niches.The results showed that the group A was the dominant NC10 phylum bacteria from the sludges and food waste digestate while in paddy soil samples,group A and group B had nearly the same proportion.Our results also indicated that NC10 bacteria could exist in a high p H environment(pH 9.24)from the food waste treatment facility.The Pearson relationship analysis showed that the p H had a significant positive relationship with the NC10 bacterial diversity(p<0.05).The redundancy analysis further revealed that the p H,volatile solid and nitrite nitrogen were the most important factors in shaping the NC10 bacterial structure(p=0.01)based on the variation inflation factors selection and Monte Carlo test(999 times).Results of this study extended the existing molecular tools for studying the NC10 bacterial community structures and provided new information on the ecological distributions of NC10 bacteria.Sai Xu Wenjing Lu Farooq Mustafa Muhammad Yanting Liu Hanwen Guo Ruihong Meng Hongtao Wang 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,3:4

12Preparation of Spherical FePO4 by Chemical Co-precipitation Combined with Spray-Drying显示文摘Well-shaped spherical agglomerates of FePO4 particles were prepared by a novel method:chemical co-precipitation combined with spray-drying.Tap density analysis,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis,characterizations of X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and transmission electron microscopy confirmed that the micron-sized spherical agglomerates with high specific surface area and high tap density were composed of the uniform nano-sized particles.The effects of pH and reaction time on the morphology of the FePO4 particles were investigated by experimental and theoretical analyses.The analyses revealed that amorphous FePO4 was responsible for forming a well-shaped spherical agglomerate,and the ideal spherical particles were obtained at pH 3.The reaction time also played a significant role in controlling the size and surface morphology of the FePO4 particles,and smooth spherical FePO4 particles were obtained at a reaction time of 6 h.By this novel method,poly-porous spherical iron phosphate particles were prepared,which can be used with high efficiency in some special fields,especially as a precursor for synthesizing LiFePO4 and catalysts.Leping Dang Hongtao Zhang Xin Xu Xiaojun Lang 2020Transactions of Tianjin University2020,26,1:3
13PLASTIC LIMIT ANALYSIS OF DUCTILE COMPOSITE STRUCTURES FROM MICRO-TO MACRO-MECHANICAL ANALYSIS显示文摘The load-bearing capacity of ductile composite structures comprised of periodic composites is studied by a combined micro/macromechanical approach. Firstly,on the microscopic level,a representative volume element (RVE) is selected to reflect the microstructures of the composite materials and the constituents are assumed to be elastic perfectly-plastic. Based on the homogenization theory and the static limit theorem,an optimization formulation to directly calculate the macroscopic strength domain of the RVE is obtained. The finite element modeling of the static limit analysis is formulated as a nonlinear mathematical programming and solved by the sequential quadratic programming method,where the temperature parameter method is used to construct the self-stress field. Secondly,Hill's yield criterion is adopted to connect the micromechanical and macromechanical analyses. And the limit loads of composite structures are worked out on the macroscopic scale. 14Spatial modulation of nanopattern dimensions by combining interference lithography and grayscale-patterned secondary exposure显示文摘Functional nanostructures are exploited for a variety of cutting-edge fields including plasmonics,metasurfaces,and biosensors,just to name a few.Some applications require nanostructures with uniform feature sizes while others rely on spatially varying morphologies.However,fine manipulation of the feature size over a large area remains a substantial challenge because mainstream approaches to precise nanopatterning are based on low-throughput pixel-by-pixel processing,such as those utilizing focused beams of photons,electrons,or ions.In this work,we provide a solution toward wafer-scale,arbitrary modulation of feature size distribution by introducing a lithographic portfolio combining interference lithography(IL)and grayscale-patterned secondary exposure(SE).Employed after the high-throughput IL,a SE with patterned intensity distribution spatially modulates the dimensions of photoresist nanostructures.Based on this approach,we successfully fabricated 4-inch wafer-scale nanogratings with uniform linewidths of<5%variation,using grayscale-patterned SE to compensate for the linewidth difference caused by the Gaussian distribution of the laser beams in the IL.Besides,we also demonstrated a wafer-scale structural color painting by spatially modulating the filling ratio to achieve gradient grayscale color using SE.Zhuofei Gan Hongtao Feng Liyang Chen Siyi Min Chuwei Liang Menghong Xu Zijie Jiang Zhao Sun Chuying Sun Dehu Cui Wen-Di Li 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,5:3
15From unusual suspect to serial killer: Cyanotoxins boosted by climate change may jeopardize megafauna显示文摘The recent mass mortality event of more than 330 African elephants in Botswana has been attributed to biotoxins produced by cyanobacteria;however,scientific evidence for this is lacking.Here,by synthesizing multiple sources of data,we show that,during the past decades,the widespread hypertrophic waters in Southern Africa have entailed an extremely high risk and frequent exposure of cyanotoxins to the wildlife within this area,which functions as a hotspot of mammal species richness.The hot and dry climatic extremes have most likely acted as the primary trigger of the recent and perhaps also of prehistoric mass mortality events.As such climate extremes are projected to become more frequent in Southern Africa in the near future,there is a risk that similar tragedies may take place,rendering African megafauna species,especially those that are already endangered,in risk of extinction.Moreover,cyanotoxin poisoning amplified by climate change may have unexpected cascading effects on human societies.Seen within this perspective,the tragic mass death of the world's largest terrestrial mammal species serves as an alarming early warning signal of future environmental catastrophes in Southern Africa.We suggest that systematic,quantitative cyanotoxin risk assessments are made and precautionary actions to mitigate the risks are taken without hesitation to ensure the health and sustainability of the megafauna and human societies within the region.Haijun Wang Chi Xu Ying Liu Erik Jeppesen Jens-Christian Svenning Jianguo Wu Wenxia Zhang Tianjun Zhou Puze Wang Shingirai Nangombe Jinge Ma Hongtao Duan Jingyun Fang Ping Xie 2021The Innovation2021,2,2:3

17Awareness intervention for Beijing neurologists regarding secondary prevention of cerebral infarction/transient ischemia Cross-sectional investigation显示文摘BACKGROUND: Stroke prevention guidelines should be made available to neurologists for clinical application to aid in uniformity, timing, preciseness, and acceptance of disease. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the awareness of neurologists in some Beijing hospitals of intervention in secondary prevention of cerebral infarction/transient ischemia. DESIGN: Cross-sectional study. SETTING: Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, General Hospital of Beijing Military Area, Command of Chinese PLA, Beijing Chuiyangliu Hospital, Beijing 6th Hospital, Beijing Hepingli Hospital, and Beijing Daxing District Hospital. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 28 (associate) chief physicians, 58 attending physicians, and 54 resident physicians who engaged in clinical treatment of cerebrovascular diseases were selected from 8 hospitals in Beijing from March to April 2007. All physicians provided informed consent. METHODS: Self-made closed questionnaires were provided for data collection, consisting of 16 questions that were single choice or multiple choice. Specifically, questions 1-7 focused on awareness of blood pressure regulation in different patients and first choice of decompression drug; questions 8-12 focused on awareness of lipid regulation; and questions 13-16 focused on awareness of anti-blood platelet drugs applied in secondary prevention. The scores ranged from 0-100 points, and each question was worth 6.25 points. The scores positively correlated with the awareness rate. To test leveling real-time, the survey lasted for a maximum of 20 minutes. One questionnaire was independently finished by each subject in the survey. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Awareness intervention among neurologists during secondary prevention of cerebral infarction/transient ischemia and questionnaire scores. RESULTS: 140 subjects were included in the final analysis. ① The awareness rate among neurologists for intervention during secondary prevention of cerebral infarction/transient ischemia ranged from 0.7-57.9%, the scores ranged between 0-56 points, and the mean score was 26 points. ② Scores of resident physicians were 0-56 points with a mean score of 26 points; attending physicians scored 6-50 points, with a mean score of 26 points; and chief physicians scored 6-50 points, with a mean score of 23 points. There were no significant differences among the various physicians (F = 0.771, t = 0.465, P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Awareness among neurologists of intervention during secondary prevention of cerebral infarction/transient ischemia is not ideal. 18Single-atom cobalt nanozymes promote spinal cord injury recovery by anti-oxidation and neuroprotection显示文摘Oxidative stress and inflammation are central pathophysiological processes in a traumatic spinal cord injury(SCI).Antioxidant therapies that reduce the reactive oxygen and nitrogen species(RONS)overgeneration and inflammation are proved promising for improving the outcomes.However,efficient and long-lasting antioxidant therapy to eliminate multiple RONS with effective neuroprotection remains challenging.Here,a single-atom cobalt nanozyme(Co-SAzyme)with a hollow structure was reported to reduce the RONS and inflammation in the secondary injury of SCI.Among SAzymes featuring different single metal-N sites(e.g.,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,and Cu),this Co-SAzyme showed a versatile property to eliminate hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2)),superoxide anion(O_(2)·^(-)),hydroxyl radical(·OH),nitric oxide(·NO),and peroxynitrite(ONOO^(-))that overexpressed in the early stage of SCI.The porous hollow structure also allowed the encapsulation and sustained release of minocycline for neuroprotection in synergy.In vitro results showed that the Co-SAzyme reduced the apoptosis and pro-inflammatory cytokine levels of microglial cells under oxidative stress.In addition,the Co-SAzyme combined with minocycline achieved remarkable improved functional recovery and neural repairs in the SCI-rat model.Yuxing Jiang Hongtao Rong Yifan Wang Shange Liu Peng Xu Zhen Luo Lamei Guo Tao Zhu(✉) Hongpan Rong Dingsheng Wang Jiatao Zhang Yu Yi Hao Wang 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:2
19Comparison of the differentiation of dental pulp stem cells and periodontal ligament stem cells into neuron-like cells and their effects on focal cerebral ischemia显示文摘Recent studies have reported an in creasing in cidence of ischemic stroke,particularly in younger age groups.Dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs)and periodontal ligament stem cells(PDLSCs)are the most comm on stem cells acquired from the teeth of adults,even elderly people.However,there are no detailed reports on whether DPSCs or PDLSCs are suitable for the treatment of ischemic stroke.In this study,the in vitro differentiation of DPSCs and PDLSCs into neuron-like cells was evaluated.Then,we established a rat model of cerebral ischemia.DPSCs or PDLSCs were administered to animals,and the therapeutic effects of these two types of cells were investigated.The results showed that PDLSCs had a higher differentiation rate than DPSCs.Immunofluorescence studies showed that the expression of the neuronal differentiation markerThy-1 was higher in PDLSCs than in DPSCs,and other gene markers of neuronal differentiation showed corresponding trends,which were confirmed by western blot analysis.In this process,the Notch and Wnt signaling pathways were inhibited and activated,respectively.Fin ally,rats with transient occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery were used as a model to assess the therapeutic effect of PDLSCs and DPSCs on ischemia.The results showed that rats in the PDLSC-treated group emitted significantly greater red fluorescence signal than the DPSC-treated group.PDLSC transplantation promoted the recovery of neurological function more effectively than DPSC transplantation.Hence,PDLSCs represent an autogenous source of adult mesenchymal stem cells with desirable biological properties and may be an ideal candidate for clinical applications.Tingting Wu Wanting Xu Hanlin Chen Shasha Li Rengang Dou Hongtao Shen Xue Liu Xiaoyu Liu Yongfeng Hong Jiacai He 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,9:2
20Effects of heating rate on the alloy element partitioning and mechanical properties in equiaxedα+βTi-6Al-4V alloy显示文摘The effects of heating rate on the alloy element partitioning and mechanical properties during the phase transformation ofα→βin Ti-6Al-4 V alloy under solution treatment have been investigated by the experiments and phase field simulations,which reveal the evolutions of microstructure and compositions at the non-equilibrium state and well verify the experimental results.The specific results indicate that the compositions measured through electron probe micro-analysis(EPMA)under a lower heating rate are close to the equilibrium ones corresponding to the solution temperature.Heating up to the target solution temperature,as the heating rate increases,the Al content decreases and V increases in the primaryα(α_(p))grain with a larger size,the volume fraction ofα_(p)increases and the composition gradient betweenα_(p)andβphases gets steeper.The interrelated relationship among the diffusion,compositions,solution temperature and free energy of the system has been discussed in detail.Moreover,increasing the heating rate(~20.0 K/min)may help to improve the mechanical properties of the alloy by mainly adjusting theα_(p)/β;volume fractions,α_(p)particle size and secondaryα(α_(p))size during the process of heating up to the solution temperature.These results may shed some light on the optimization of the knowledge-based heat treatment route.Jinhu Zhang Hongtao Ju Haisheng Xu Liang Yang Zhichao Meng Chen Liu Ping Sun Jianke Qiu Chunguang Bai Dongsheng Xu Rui Yang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,35:2
