2Progress of Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA)显示文摘Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA) will take the advantage of the ultra-low background of CJPL lab and high current accelerator based on an ECR source and a highly sensitive detector to directly study for the first time a number of crucial reactions occurring at their relevant stellar energies during the evolution of hydrostatic stars. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. 8In Situ Scattering Studies of Crystallization Kinetics in a Phase-Separated Zr-Cu-Fe-Al Bulk Metallic Glass显示文摘Thermal stability and the crystallization kinetics of a phase-separated Zr-Cu-Fe-Al bulk metallic glass were investigated using in situ high-energy synchrotron X-ray and neutron diffraction,as well as small-angle synchrotron X-ray scattering.It was revealed that this glass with excellent glass-forming ability possesses a two-step crystallization behavior.The crystalline products and their evolution sequence are more complicated than a homogeneous Zr-Cu-Al glass with average glass-forming ability.The experimental results indicate that a finely distributed nanometer-sized cubic Zr_(2)Cu phase forms first and then transforms to a tetragonal Zr_(2)Cu phase,while the matrix transforms to an orthorhombic Zr_(3)Fe phase.The strength of the Zr-Cu-Fe-Al composite containing cubic Zr_(2)Cu phase and glass matrix increases,and the plasticity also improves compared to the as-cast Zr-Cu-Fe-Al bulk metallic glass.Our results suggest that the formation of multiple and complex crystalline products would be the characteristics of the Zr-Cu-Fe-Al glass with better glass-forming ability.Our study may shed light on the synthesis of bulk-sized glass-nanocrystals composites of high strength and good plasticity.Sinan Liu Jiacheng Ge Huiqaing Ying Chenyu Lu Dong Ma Xun-Li Wang Xiaobing Zuo Yang Ren Tao Feng Jun Shen Horst Hahn Si Lan 2022Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,1:0
9Increasing operational stability of journal bearing in hydraulic suspension micro-pump by herringbone grooved structure显示文摘The operational stability of radial journal bearings is the bottleneck that limits the reliability of hydraulic suspension micropump. Due to self-excited vibrations, the whirl amplitude of the plain journal bearing(PJB) is large at high rotational speeds,which will accelerate wear failure. It has been proven that employing herringbone grooved journal bearing(HGJB) is an effective method to reduce the whirl amplitude and improve operational stability. However, enhancing the stability of journal bearings in micro-pumps by herringbone grooved structures has rarely been studied, and its effect needs to be verified. We validated the mechanism of the stability improvement with the CFD method and compared the dynamic characteristics of HGJB and PJB by rotor dynamics evaluation and experiment. The experimental results show that under the same conditions the whirl amplitude of the HGJB decreases by 29.61% in the x direction and by 24.09% in the y direction compared with that of the PJB. 11A novel hydrodynamic suspension micropump using centrifugal pressurization and the wedge effect显示文摘The micropump is the heart of microfluidics systems.However,for mechanical micropumps,bearing wear failure has been a major obstacle to performance and reliability.Hydrodynamic suspension,which can make the rotating components levitate in liquid without any mechanical friction,is applied to break this bottleneck.In this paper,a novel kind of hydrodynamic suspension micropump(HSMP) without a grooved thrust bearing is proposed.Based on the centrifugal effect,the HSMP uses a rotating rotor to accelerate and pressurize adjacent fluid,and thus reacting forces are generated on the rotor surfaces to levitate it.The mechanisms of suspension forces formation,the centrifugal effect and the wedge effect in the liquid films near the rotor are identified using theoretical analysis and simulation.The variation in suspension forces with rotor position is investigated,revealing that the suspension bearings of the HSMP,similar to a spring damper,can self-adjust suspension forces along with a change in rotor position.Moreover,the suspension stiffness is positively correlated with the rotating speed.The HSMP prototype designed herein,whose overall size is only 34 mm × 34 mm × 31 mm,can provide a maximum output performance of3230 mL/min and 96.3 kPa at 20000 r/min,which is manyfold greater than other micropumps.The proposed HSMP is demonstrated to be more powerful with a simple structure,high power density,and high reliability.XING GuanYing XUE Song HONG Tao ZUO HuaiYu LUO XiaoBing 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,7:0

13In situ study on medium-range order evolution during the polyamorphous phase transition in a Pd-Ni-P nanostructured glass显示文摘Engineering multiscale structural hierarchies in glassy alloys enable a broad spectrum of potential applications.Metallic glasses were born in hierarchical structures from atomic-to-nanometer scales.However,the frozen-in structures in traditional metallic glasses prepared by rapid quenching techniques are challenging to tailor.Here,we show that a PdNiPbulk nanostructured glass of polyamorphous interfacial structures was prepared by inert-gas condensation with a laser evaporation source,and its multiscale structures could be engineered.In-situ scattering experiment results reveal polyamorphous phase transitions occurred in the interfacial regions,which are accompanied by the evolution of medium-range order and the nanoscale heterogeneous structures during the condensation process of glassy nanoparticles under high pressure and the following heating process.Moreover,changes in the cluster connectivity resulting from repacking of the local ordering induced by pressure and temperature could be observed.The thermophysical and mechanical properties,including boson peaks,hardness,and elasticity modulus,could be changed as a function of heat-treatment parameters.Our findings would shed light on the synthesis of bulk nanostructured glassy alloys with tailorable thermodynamic and dynamical behavior as well as mechanical properties based on the understanding of metastability for polyamorphous interfacial phases.Shu Fu Sinan Liu Jiacheng Ge Junjie Wang Huiqiang Ying Shangshu Wu Mengyang Yan Li Zhu Yubin Ke Junhua Luan Yang Ren Xiaobing Zuo Zhenduo Wu Zhen Peng Chain-Tsuan Liu Xun-Li Wang Tao Feng Si Lan 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,30:0
