1Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy With Segmental Renal Artery Clamping:Technique and Clinical Outcomes显示文摘Background:Warm ischemic injury is one of the most important factors affecting renal function in partial nephrectomy(PN).The technique of segmental renal artery clamping emerges as an alternative to conventional renal artery clamping for renal hilar control.Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of laparoscopic PN(LPN) with segmental renal artery clamping in comparison with the conventional technique.Design,setting,and participants:A total of 75 patients underwent LPN from June 2007 to November 2009.All patients had T1a or T1b tumor in one kidney and a normal contralateral kidney.Thirty-seven patients underwent surgeries with main renal artery clamping,and 38 underwent surgeries with segmental artery clamping.Intervention:All procedures were performed by the same laparoscopic surgeon.Measurements:Blood loss,operation time,warm ischemia(WI) time,and complications affected renal function before and after operation were recorded.Results and limitations:All LPNs were completed without conversion to open surgery or nephrectomy.The novel technique slightly increased WI time(p < 0.001) and intraoperative blood loss(p = 0.006),while it provided better postoperative affected renal function(p < 0.001) compared with the conventional technique.The total complication rate was 12%.Among the 38 cases where segmental renal artery clamping was performed,7 had to convert to the conventional method.Tumor size and location influenced the number of clamped segmental arteries.Long-term postoperative renal function is still awaited.Conclusions:LPN with segmental artery clamping is safe and feasible in clinical practice.It minimizes the intraoperative WI injury and improves early postoperative affected renal function compared with main renal artery clamping.(C) 2010 European Association of Urology.Published by Elsevier B.V.All rights reserved.Shao,P.F. 4Iatrogenic wounds:a common but often overlooked problem显示文摘Iatrogenic wounds are a common but often overlooked concept.They can lead to increases in hospital stays,therapy costs,repeat surgeries,and implant removal.If not handled properly,these wounds have a very poor prognosis and will cause serious physical and psychological harm to patients,which may result in medicolegal disputes.In recent years,the incidence of iatrogenic wounds has increased because of(1)an increase in the population of older people owing to increased life expectancy,(2)the continued expansion of surgical indications,(3)an increase in difficult surgeries,and(4)the constant emergence and application of new implantable biomaterials and other therapies.Thus,there is a pressing clinical need to improve the therapy of iatrogenic wounds.However,the difficulty in treating these wounds is considerable due to the emergence of drug-resistant bacteria,the high number of patients with metabolic diseases,and complex complications in patients.In particular,iatrogenic wounds caused by surgical site infections due to implantable biomaterials could lead to material leakage and conflicts regarding whether to retain or remove the implants.This review provides a definition of iatrogenic wounds,describes their characteristics,classifies them,and provides information about the importance of analyzing iatrogenic wounds.We hope that this review will provide useful information for the diagnosis and treatment of iatrogenic wounds and help to reduce their incidence in the future.Biao Cheng Ju Tian Yan Peng Xiaobing Fu 2019Burns & Trauma2019,7,1:2

7Association of erythropoietin gene rs576236 polymorphism and risk of adrenal tumors in a Chinese population显示文摘Erythropoietin(EPO) is a circulating glycosylated protein hormone and has been implicated in the development and progression of non-hematopoietic tissue tumors.The objective of the present study was to determine if the EPO rs576236 polymorphism was associated with the risk of adrenal tumors.We genotyped the EPO rs576236 polymorphism in a case-control study of 288 adrenal tumor patients and 456 cancer-free controls by using the TaqMan method,and assessed the association between the polymorphism and the adrenal tumor risk by logistic regression.Furthermore,95%confidence interval(CI) was used to assess the genetic association between the polymorphism and the risk of adrenal tumor.Compared with the TT genotype,the TC genotype had a significantly increased risk of adrenal tumor[adjusted odds ratio(OR) = 1.24,95%CI = 1.12-2.22].Furthermore a significantly increased risk of adrenal tumor was found in the combined variant genotypes TC+CC compared with the TT genotype(adjusted OR = 1.17,95%CI = 1.12-2.21).Our present study suggests that the rs576236 polymorphism of EPO confers susceptibility to adrenal tumor in the Chinese population.Chao Zhang Zhongxing Li Qiang Cao Chao Qin Hongzhou Cai Hai Zhou Jian Qian Xiaobing Ju Changjun Yin 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,6:2
8Discrimination of mitochondrial DNA 10400 locus by SNP-operated on/off Switch显示文摘Objective:To apply reformed AS-PCR, which combined phosphorothioate-modified primers with exo+ polymerase, in single nucle- otide polymorphism discrimination of mitochondrial DNA 10400 locus. Methods: We used the mtDNA 10400 locus to design unmodi- fied and 3′phosphorothioate-modified allele-specific primers for PCR, which was performed using polymerases with and without 3′exonuclease activities. The effects of these primers on primer-extension were evaluated by agarose gel electrophoresis. Results: The unmodified primers were extended by both exo- and exo+ polymerase irrespective of whether the primers were matched or mismatched with the templates. However, the 3′phosphorothioate-modified primers with a terminal mismatch triggered an' off- switch'of exo+ polymerase when compared to exo-polymerase. 16Protective Graphite Coating for Two-Dimensional Carbon/Carbon Composites显示文摘Two-dimensional carbon/carbon(2D C/C)composites are a special class of carbon/carbon composites,generally obtained by combining resin-impregnated carbon fiber clothes,which are then cured and carbonized.This study deals with the preparation of a protective coating for these materials.This coating,based on graphite,was prepared by the slurry method.The effect of graphite and phenolic resin powders with different weight ratios was examined.The results have shown that the coating slurry can fill the pores and cracks of the composite surface,thereby densifying the surface layer of the material.With the increase of the graphite powder/phenolic resin weight ratio,the coating density is enhanced while the coating surface flatness decreases;moreover,the protective ability of coating against erosion first increases(from 1:3 to 2:2)and then decreases(from 2:2 to 3:1).When the weight ratio is about 1:1,the coating for 2D C/C composites exhibits the best erosion resistance,which greatly aids these materials during gas quenching.In this case,the erosion rate is decreased by approximately 41.5%at the impact angle of 30°and 52.3%at normal impact,respectively.This can be attributed to the ability of the coating slurry to infiltrate into the substrate,thereby bonding the fibers together and increasing the compactness of the 2D C/C composites.Wei Shi Zhengyi Li Xiaobing Xu Yingshui Yu Xiaofei Ding Heng Ju 2024Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2024,20,1:0
17Prediction of natural fracture in shale oil reservoir based on R/S analysis and conventional logs显示文摘Investigation into natural fractures is extremely important for the exploration and development of low-permeability reservoirs.Previous studies have proven that abundant oil resources are present in the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation Chang 7 oil-bearing layer of the Ordos Basin,which are accumulated in typical low-permeability shale reservoirs.Natural fractures are important storage spaces and flow pathways for shale oil.In this study,characteristics of natural fractures in the Chang 7 oil-bearing layer are first analyzed.The results indicate that most fractures are shear fractures in the Heshui region,which are characterized by high-angle,unfilled,and ENE-WSW-trending strike.Subsequently,natural fracture distributions in the Yanchang Formation Chang 7 oil-bearing layer of the study area are predicted based on the R/S analysis approach.Logs of AC,CAL,ILD,LL8,and DEN are selected and used for fracture prediction in this study,and the R(n)/S(n)curves of each log are calculated.The quadratic derivatives are calculated to identify the concave points in the R(n)/S(n)curve,indicating the location where natural fracture develops.Considering the difference in sensitivity of each log to natural fracture,gray prediction analysis is used to construct a new parameter,fracture prediction indicator K,to quantitatively predict fracture development.In addition,fracture development among different wells is compared.The results show that parameter K responds well to fracture development.Some minor errors may probably be caused by the heterogeneity of the reservoir,limitation of core range and fracture size,dip angle,filling minerals,etc.Haoran XU Wei JU Xiaobing NIU Shengbin FENG Yuan YOU Hui YANG Sijia LIU Wenbo LUAN 2021Frontiers of Earth Science2021,15,3:0
