| 1 | Characterization and evaluation of rice blast resistance of Chinese indica hybrid rice parental lines显示文摘The development of resistant varieties and hybrid combinations has been the most effective and economical strategy to control blast disease caused by Magnaporthe oryzae.However, the distribution of major R genes and blast resistance characterization in hybrid rice parents has not been well investigated, resulting in their limited use in hybrid rice blast-resistance breeding. In the present study, 88 elite indica hybrid rice parental lines were evaluated with 30 isolates of M. oryzae collected from the main planting area of indica hybrid rice in China and were characterized for the presence of 11 major resistance genes using molecular markers. The pathogenicity assays showed that four types of hybrid rice parent line showed some resistance to M. oryzae. However, the proportions of highly resistant lines and the mean resistance frequency(RF) varied among the four types, with resistance in decreasing order shown by three-line restorer lines, three-line maintainer lines, two-line sterile lines, and two-line restorer lines. All 88 hybrid rice parental lines carried more than one R gene, but none carried the R genes Pi1 and Pi2. Although Pid3 and Pi9 were present only in three-line restorer lines and Pigm only in three-line maintainer lines, the remaining six R genes(Pib, Pid2, Pi5, Pia, Pi54, and Pita) were present in the four types of hybrid rice parent with significantly different distribution frequencies. The correlation between R genes and resistance reactions was investigated. | 2 | Microwave ablation of primary breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression in model mice via activation of natural killer cells显示文摘Surgery is essential for controlling the symptoms and complications of stage IV breast cancer.However,locoregional treatment of primary tumors often results in distant progression,including lung metastasis,the most common type of visceral metastasis.As a minimally invasive thermal therapy,microwave ablation(MWA)has been attempted in the treatment of breast cancer,but the innate immune response after MWA has not yet been reported.Using two murine models of stage IV breast cancer,we found that MWA of primary breast cancer inhibited the progression of lung metastasis and improved survival.NK cells were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and exhibited enhanced cytotoxic functions,and the cytotoxic pathways of NK cells were activated.Depletion experiments showed that NK cells but not CD4+or CD8+T cells played a pivotal role in prolonging survival.Then,we found that compared with surgery or control treatment,MWA of the primary tumor induced completely different NK-cell-related cytokine profiles.Macrophages were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and produced IL-15 that activated NK cells to inhibit the progression of metastasis.In addition,MWA of human breast cancer stimulated an autologous NK-cell response.These results demonstrate that MWA of the primary tumor in metastatic breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression via the macrophage/IL-15/NK-cell axis.MWA of the primary tumor may be a promising treatment strategy for de novo stage IV breast cancer,although further substantiation is essential for clinical testing. | Muxin Yu Hong Pan Nan Che Li Li Cong Wang Yue Wang Ge Ma Mengjia Qian Jiawei Liu Mingjie Zheng Hui Xie Lijun Ling Yi Zhao Xiaoxiang Guan Qiang Ding Wenbin Zhou Shui Wang | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9: | 5 |
| 3 | Parallel Sensing in Metaverses: Virtual-Real Interactive Smart Systems for “6S” Sensing显示文摘In the construction of Metaverses,sensors that are referred to as the“bridge of information transmission”,play a key role.The functionality and efficiency of today’s sensors,which operate in a manner similar to physical sensing,are frequently constrained by their hardware and software.In this research,we proposed the Parallel Sensing framework,which includes background,concept,basic methods and typical application of parallel sensing.In our formulation,sensors are redefined as the integration of real physical sensors and virtual software-defined sensors based on parallel intelligence,in order to boost the performance of the sensors.Each sensor will have a parallel counterpart in the virtual world within the framework of parallel sensing.Digital sensors serve as the brain of sensors and maintain the same properties as physical sensors.Parallel sensing allows physical sensors to operate in discrete time periods to conserve energy,while cloud-based descriptive,predictive,and prescriptive sensors operate continuously to offer compensation data and serve as guardians.To better illustrate parallel sensing concept,we show some example applications of parallel sensing such as parallel vision,parallel point cloud and parallel light fields,both of which are designed by construct virtual sensors to extend small real data to virtual big data and then boost the performance of perception models.Experimental results demonstrate the effective of parallel sensing framework.The interaction between the real and virtual worlds enables sensors to operate actively,allowing them to intelligently adapt to various scenarios and ultimately attain the goal of“Cognitive,Parallel,Crypto,Federated,Social and Ecologic”6S sensing. | Yu Shen Yuhang Liu Yonglin Tian Xiaoxiang Na | 2022 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2022,9,12: | 3 |
| 4 | Preparation of Nano-Sized γ-Al_2O_3 Supported Iron Catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis by Solvated Metal Atom Impregnation Methods显示文摘Two types of small iron clusters supported onγ-Al2O3-RT(dehydroxylated at room temperature) andγ-Al2O3-800 (dehydroxylated at 800℃) were prepared by solvated metal atom impregnation (SMAI) techniques. The iron atom precursor complex, bis(toluene)iron(0) formed in the metal atom reactor, was impregnated intoγ-Al2O3 having different concentrations of surface hydroxyl groups to study the effect of surface hydroxylation on the crucial stage of iron cluster formation. Catalysts prepared in this way were characterized by TEM, Mossbauer, and chemisorption measurements, and the results show that higher concentration of surface hydroxyl groups ofγ-Al2O3-RT favors the formation of more positively charged supported iron cluster Fen/γ-Al2O3-RT, and the lower concentration of surface hydroxyl groups ofγ-Al2O3-800 favors the formation of basically neutral supported iron cluster Fen/γ-Al2O3-800. The measured results also indicate that the higher concentration of surface hydroxyl groups causes the rapid decomposition of precursor complex, bis(toluene)iron(0), and favors the formation of relatively large iron cluster. Consequently, these two types of catalysts show different catalytic properties in Fischer-Tropsch reaction. In this study, Sc_2O_3 was doped to Nd_2Zr_2O_7. The phase structure, TECs and toughness of((Nd_(1-x)Scx))_2Zr_2_O7(x= 0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) compounds were investigated.((Nd_(1-x)Scx))_2Zr_2_O7(x = 0, 0.025,0.05, 0.075) exhibited pyrochlore structure, while((Nd_(0.9)Sc_(0.1)))_2Zr_2O_7 consisted of pyrochlore and fluorite phases. With the increase of the Sc_2O_3 content, the ordering degree of the pyrochlore in the compounds decreased. In((Nd_(1-x)Scx))_2Zr_2O_7 series,((Nd_(0.925)Sc_(0.075)))_2Zr_2O_7 exhibited the largest TEC, while the toughness of the compounds increased with increasing the Sc_2O_3 content. The related mechanisms were discussed based on the crystal structure analysis. The thermal expansion coefficients were evaluated for these carbonate minerals, resulting in the values of 2.7×10^-5, 3.3×10^-5 and 3.5×10^-5 K^-1 for calcite, dolomite and magnesite, respectively. The magnitude of these coefficients is in the same order as those for the isothermal and elastic moduli of these carbonates(e.g., calcitedolomite>magnesite. | 20 | Pijx confers broad-spectrum seedling and panicle blast resistance by promoting the degradation of ATP β subunit and OsRbohC-mediated ROS burst in rice显示文摘Rice blast,caused by the fungal pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae,is one of the most important diseases of rice.Utilization of blast-resistance genes is the most economical,effective,and environmentally friendly way to control the disease.However,genetic resources with broad-spectrum resistance(BSR)that is effective throughout the rice growth period are rare.In this work,using a genome-wide association study,we identify a new blast-resistance gene,Pijx,which encodes a typical CC-NBS-LRR protein.Pijx is derived from a wild rice species and confers BSR to M.oryzae at both the seedling and panicle stages.The functions of the resistant haplotypes of Pijx are confirmed by gene knockout and overexpression experiments.Mechanistically,the LRR domain in Pijx interacts with and promotes the degradation of the ATP synthase β subunit(ATPb)via the 26S proteasome pathway.ATPb acts as a negative regulator of Pijx-mediated panicle blast resistance,and interacts with OsRbohC to promote its degradation.Consistently,loss of ATPb function causes an increase in NAPDH content and ROS burst.Remarkably,when Pijx is introgressed into two japonica rice varieties,the introgression lines show BSR and increased yields that are approximately 51.59%and 79.31%higher compared with those of their parents in a natural blast disease nursery.In addition,we generate PPL^(Pijx Pigm) and PPL^(Pijx Piz-t) pyramided lines and these lines also have higher BSR to panicle blast compared with Pigm-or Piz-t-containing rice plants.Collectively,this study demonstrates that Pijx not only confers BSR to M.oryzae but also maintains high and stable rice yield,providing new genetic resources and molecular targets for breeding rice varieties with broad-spectrum blast resistance. | Ning Xiao Yunyu Wu Xiaoxiang Zhang Zeyun Hao Zichun Chen Zefeng Yang Yue Cai Ruyi Wang Ling Yu Zhiping Wang Yue Lu Wei Shi Cunhong Pan Yuhong Li Changhai Zhou Jianju Liu Niansheng Huang Guangqing Liu Hongjuan Ji Shuhao Zhu Shuai Fang Yuese Ning Aihong Li | 2023 | Molecular Plant2023,16,11: | 0 |
