Molten salt synthesis of porous carbon and its application in supercapacitors: A review显示文摘Carbon materials have taken an important role in supercapacitor applications due to their outstanding features of large surface area, low price, and stable physicochemical properties.Considerable research efforts have been devoted to the development of novel synthesis strategy for the preparation of porous carbon materials in recent years. In particular, molten salt strategy represents an emerging and promising method, whereby it has shown great potential in achieving tailored production of porous carbon. It has been proved that the molten salt-assisted production of carbon via the direct carbonization of carbonaceous precursors is an effective approach.Furthermore, with the incorporation of electrochemical technology, molten salt synthesis of porous carbon has become flexible and diversiform. Here, this review focuses on the mainstream molten salt synthesis strategies for the production of porous carbon materials, which includes direct molten salt carbonization process, capture and electrochemical conversion of CO_(2)to value-added carbon, electrochemical exfoliation of graphite to graphene-based materials, and electrochemical etching of carbides to new-type carbide-derived carbon materials. The reaction mechanisms and recent advances for these strategies are reviewed and discussed systematically. The morphological and structural properties and capacitive performances of the obtained carbon materials are summarized to reveal their appealing points for supercapacitor applications. Moreover, the opportunities and challenges of the molten salt synthesis strategy for the preparation of carbon materials are also discussed in this review to provide inspiration to the future researches. | Zhongya Pang Guangshi Li Xiaolu Xiong Li Ji Qian Xu Xingli Zou Xionggang Lu | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,10: | 7
Attenuated phenotypes and analysis of a herpes simplex virus 1strain with partial deletion of the UL7, UL41 and LAT genes显示文摘We previously constructed a herpes simplex virus 1(HSV-1) UL7 mutant virus(M1) and showed that a partial deletion mutation of the UL7 gene led to a lower proliferative rate and an attenuated phenotype. Using the M1 mutant, we further modified the UL41 gene, which encodes another tegument protein, and the latency-associated transcript(LAT) gene. Observations of the resulting mutants with modified UL7 and UL41(M2) or UL7, UL41 and LAT(M3) genes indicated attenuated phenotypes, with lower proliferative ratios in various cells, non-lethal infections in mice and lower viral loads in nervous tissues compared with the wild-type strain. Furthermore, no LAT stable intron could be detected in the trigeminal ganglion of M3-infected animals. The results obtained with the three HSV-1 mutants indicate that the M3 mutant is an attenuated strain with low pathogenicity during both acute and latent infections. Together, the results support the use of the M3 mutant as a candidate for the development of an HSV-1 vaccine. | Xingli Xu Yingqiu Guo Shengtao Fan Pingfang Cui Min Feng Lichun Wang Ying Zhang Yun Liao Xiaolong Zhang Qihan Li | 2017 | Virologica Sinica2017,32,5: | 6
Comparison of nonhuman primates identified the suitable model for COVID-19显示文摘Identification of a suitable nonhuman primate(NHP)model of COVID-19 remains challenging. Here,we characterized severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection in three NHP species:Old World monkeys Macaca mulatta(M.mulatta)and Macaca fascicularis(M.fascicularis)and New World monkey Callithrix jacchus(C.jacchus).Infected M.mulatta and M.fascicularis showed abnormal chest radiographs,an increased body temperature and a decreased body weight.Viral genomes were detected in swab and blood samples from all animals.Viral load was detected in the pulmonary tissues of M.mulatta and M.fascicularis but not C.jacchus.Furthermore,among the three animal species,M.mulatta showed the strongest response to SARS-CoV-2,including increased inflammatory cytokine expression and pathological changes in the pulmonary tissues.Collectively, these data revealed the different susceptibilities of Old World and New World monkeys to SARS-CoV-2 and identified M.mulatta as the most suitable for modeling COVID-19. | Shuaiyao Lu Yuan Zhao Wenhai Yu Yun Yang Jiahong Gao Junbin Wang Dexuan Kuang Mengli Yang Jing Yang Chunxia Ma Jingwen Xu Xingli Qian Haiyan Li Siwen Zhao Jingmei Li Haixuan Wang Haiting Long Jingxian Zhou Fangyu Luo Kaiyun Ding Daoju Wu Yong Zhang Yinliang Dong Yuqin Liu Yinqiu Zheng Xiaochen Lin Li Jiao Huanying Zheng Qing Dai Qiangming Sun Yunzhang Hu Changwen Ke Hongqi Liu Xiaozhong Peng | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 5
Risk factors for the incidence of apoplexy in pituitary adenoma: a single-center study from southwestern China显示文摘Background:Although the incidence and clinical manifestations of pituitary apoplexy were reported by a few researches, the results are not consistent. This study aimed to explore the risk factors associated with an incidence of apoplexy in pituitary adenomas. Methods:The clinical information of 843 patients with pituitary adenoma from the Department of Neurological Surgery,1st Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, was reviewed. The incidence, clinical manifestation, and potential risk factors for pituitary apoplexy were analyzed by a case-control study. Results:In total,121 patients(14.4%)with macroadenoma were suffered from pituitary apoplexy.Headache, vomiting, and visual impairment are the top 3 symptoms for the pituitary apoplexy.Logistic regression results showed that the hypertension(hypertension vs non-hypertension OR=2.765,95%CI:1.41~5.416),tumor type(negative staining vs.positive staining,OR=1.501,95%CI:1.248~5.235),and tumor size(diameter>2 cm vs.diameter≤2 cm,OR=3.952,95%CI:2.211~7.053)are independent factors associated with pituitary apoplexy. Conclusion:Our results indicate that the risk factors for the incidence of pituitary apoplexy depend mainly on properties of the tumor itself(tumor size and pathologic type)and the blood pressure of patients. | Yao Li Yuan Qian Yisheng Qiao Xiaoxiang Chen Jiaotian Xu Chao Zhang Wei Wang Junjun Li Xingli Deng | 2020 | Chinese Neurosurgical Journal2020,6,4: | 3
Continuous electrodeposition of silicon and germanium micro/nanowires from their oxides precursors in molten salt显示文摘In recent years, silicon(Si)and germanium(Ge)materials have been considered as promising highperformance anode materials for lithium-ion batteries due to their high theoretical capacities. It is of great importance to design and synthesize micro/nanostructured Si and Ge materials. In this work,we demonstrated that Si,Ge and SiGe micro/nanowires can be continuously synthesized from their oxides precursors through molten salt electrodeposition. The electrochemical synthesis processes have been investigated systematically, and the deposited Si,Ge and SiGe micro/nanowires have been characterized and compared. The results show that the micro/nanostructured Si and Ge materials with tunable morphology can be facilely and continuously produced via molten salt electrodeposition. The electrodeposition process generally includes calcium oxide-assisted dissolution and electrodeposition processes, and the morphologies of the deposited Si and Ge products can be controlled by varying conditions.Si micro/nanowires,Si films,Ge micro/nanowires,and Ge particles can be continuously synthesized in a controlled manner. | Xingli Zou Li Ji Zhongya Pang Qian Xu Xionggang Lu | 2020 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,5: | 3
An integrated strategy towards the facile synthesis of core-shell SiC-derived carbon@N-doped carbon for high-performance supercapacitors显示文摘Porous active core-shell carbon material with excellent synergistic effect has been regarded as a prospective material for supercapacitors.Herein,we report an integrated method for the facile synthesis of carbide-derived carbon(CDC)encapsulated with porous N-doped carbon(CDC@NC)towards highperformance supercapacitors.Polydopamine(PDA)as nitrogen and carbon sources was simply coated on SiC nanospheres to form SiC@PDA,which was then directly transformed into CDC@NC via a onestep molten salt electro-etching/in-situ doping process. The synthesized CDC@NC with hierarchically porous structure has a high specific surface area of 1191 m^(2) g^(-1).The CDC core and NC shell are typical amorphous carbon and more ordered N-doped carbon, respectively.Benefitting from its unique dual porous structures, the CDC@NC demonstrates high specific capacitances of 255 and 193 F g^(-1) at 0.5 and20 A g^(-1),respectively.The reaction mechanism of the electro-etching/in-situ doping process has also been investigated through experimental characterizations and theoretical density functional theory calculations. It is suggested that the molten salt electro-etching/in-situ doping strategy is promising for the synthesis of active core-shell porous carbon materials with synergistic properties for supercapacitors without the need for additional doping/activation processes. | Zhongya Pang Guangshi Li Xingli Zou Chenteng Sun Conghui Hu Wei Tang Li Ji Hsien-Yi Hsu Qian Xu Xionggang Lu | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5: | 2
A meta-analysis of the effects of statins on serum C-reactive protein in Chinese population with coronary heart disease or hyperlipidemia显示文摘There is little doubt that statins reduce cardiovascular events more than what the lipid lowering effect can account for. Additional mechanisms have been postulated including the anti-inflammatory effects manifested by reduced C-reactive protein (CRP). It is not known, however, whether statins can decrease CRP in Chinese population. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of statins on serum CRP in Chinese patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) or hyperlipidemia. Trials were retrieved through Medline (1980 to May, 2009), bibliographies, and the author’s reference files limited to English-language articles. Data were extracted and meta-analysis was performed. Analysis showed statistically significant reduction in CRP after statin treatment (weighted mean difference [WMD] = -0.73, 95% confidence interval [CI] = [-0.80, -0.66], P < 0.00001) and lower CRP after statin treatment than non-statin routine treatment ([WMD] = -0.52, 95% CI [-0.86, -0.18], P = 0.002). In conclusion, statins significantly reduce serum CRP in Chinese population, which may contribute to statin-induced reduction in the cardiovascular risk in addition to the lipid lowering effect. | HAO PanPan CHEN YuGuo WANG XingLi XU Feng WANG JiaLi ZHANG Yun | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,23: | 1
Reducing Viral Inhibition of Host Cellular Apoptosis Strengthens the Immunogenicity and Protective Efficacy of an Attenuated HSV-1 Strain显示文摘Herpes simplex virus 1(HSV-1),a member of a herpesviruses, shows a high infectivity rate of 30%-60%in populations of various ages. Some herpes simplex(HSV)vaccine candidates evaluated during the past 20 years have not shown protective efficacy against viral infection. An improved understanding of the immune profile of infected individuals and the associated mechanism is needed.HSV uses an immune evasion strategy during viral replication, and various virus-encoded proteins, such as ICP47 and Vhs,participate in this process through limiting the ability of CD8+cytotoxic T lymphocytes to recognize target cells.Other proteins,e.g.,Us3 and Us5,also play a role in viral immune evasion via interfering with cellular apoptosis. In this work,to study the mechanism by which HSV-1 strain attenuation interferes with the viral immune evasion strategy,we constructed a mutant strain,M5,with deletions in the Us3 and Us5 genes.M5 was shown to induce higher neutralizing antibody titers and a stronger cellular immune response than our previously reported M3 strain, and to prevent virus infection more effectively than the M3 strain in an in vivo mouse challenge test. | Xingli Xu Yufeng He Shengtao Fan Min Feng Guorun Jiang Lichun Wang Ying Zhang Yun Liao Qihan Li | 2019 | Virologica Sinica2019,34,6: | 1

Activation of autophagy by Citri Reticulatae Semen extract ameliorates amyloid-beta-induced cell death and cognition deficits in Alzheimer’s disease显示文摘Amyloid-beta-induced neuronal cell death contributes to cognitive decline in Alzheimer’s disease.Citri Reticulatae Semen has diverse beneficial effects on neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases, however, the effect of Citri Reticulatae Semen on Alzheimer’s disease remains unelucidated. In the current study, the anti-apoptotic and autophagic roles of Citri Reticulatae Semen extract on amyloid-beta-induced apoptosis in PC12 cells were first investigated.Citri Reticulatae Semen extract protected PC12 cells from amyloid-beta-induced apoptosis by attenuating the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio via activation of autophagy. In addition,Citri Reticulatae Semen extract was confirmed to bind amyloid-beta as revealed by biolayer interferometry in vitro, and suppress amyloid-beta-induced pathology such as paralysis,in a transgenic Caenorhabditis elegans in vivo model. Moreover, genetically defective Caenorhabditis elegans further confirmed that the neuroprotective effect of Citri Reticulatae Semen extract was autophagy-dependent.Most importantly,Citri Reticulatae Semen extract was confirmed to improve cognitive impairment, neuronal injury and amyloid-beta burden in 3×Tg Alzheimer’s disease mice.As revealed by both in vitro and in vivo models, these results suggest that Citri Reticulatae Semen extract is a potential natural therapeutic agent for Alzheimer’s disease via its neuroprotective autophagic effects. | Yong Tang Jing Wei Xiao-Fang Wang Tao Long Xiaohong Xiang Liqun Qu Xingxia Wang Chonglin Yu Xingli Xiao Xueyuan Hu Jing Zeng Qin Xu Anguo Wu Jianming Wu Dalian Qin Xiaogang Zhou Betty Yuen-Kwan Law | 2024 | Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,11: | 0
The olfactory route is a potential way for SARS-CoV-2 to invade the central nervous system of rhesus monkeys显示文摘Neurological manifestations are frequently reported in the COVID-19 patients.Neuromechanism of SARS-CoV-2 remains to be elucidated. In this study,we explored the mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 neurotropism via our established non-human primate model of COVID-19.In rhesus monkey,SARS-CoV-2 invades the CNS primarily via the olfactory bulb.Thereafter, viruses rapidly spread to functional areas of the central nervous system, such as hippocampus, thalamus, and medulla oblongata. The infection of SARS-CoV-2 induces the inflammation possibly by targeting neurons, microglia, and astrocytes in the CNS.Consistently,SARS-CoV-2 infects neuro-derived SK-N-SH,glial-derived U251,and brain microvascular endothelial cells in vitro. To our knowledge, this is the first experimental evidence of SARS-CoV-2 neuroinvasion in the NHP model, which provides important insights into the CNS-related pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2. | Li Jiao Yun Yang Wenhai Yu Yuan Zhao Haiting Long Jiahong Gao Kaiyun Ding Chunxia Ma Jingmei Li Siwen Zhao Haixuan Wang Haiyan Li Mengli Yang Jingwen Xu Junbin Wang Jing Yang Dexuan Kuang Fangyu Luo Xingli Qian Longjiang Xu Bin Yin Wei Liu Hongqi Liu Shuaiyao Lu Xiaozhong Peng | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,5: | 0
Control of Austenite Characteristics and Ferrite Formation Mechanism by Multiple-Cyclic Annealing in Quenching and Partitioning Steel显示文摘Quenching and partitioning(Q&P)treatment is a novel method to produce advanced high strength steel with excellent mechanical properties. In this study, combination of multiple-cyclic annealing and Q&P process was compared with traditional cold-rolled Q&P steel to investigate the microstructural characteristics and austenite retention. The results showed that retained austenite in traditional Q&P sample was principally located in the exterior of austenite transformation products, while those in multiple-cyclic annealing samples were mainly distributed inside the transformation products. With the increase in cyclic annealing number, both of austenite fraction and austenite carbon content increased, attributing to higher initial austenite carbon content and larger number of austenite/neighbored phase interface to act as carbon partitioning channel. In traditional Q&P sample, the deformed ferrite was recrystallized by sub-grain coalescence, while the austenite was newly nucleated and grew up during annealing process. As a comparison, the ferrite in multiple-cycle annealing samples was formed by means of three routes:tempered martensite that completely recovered with retention of interior martensite variant, epitaxial ferrite that formed on basis of tempered martensite, ferrite that newly nucleated and grew up during the final annealing process. Both of lath martensite and twin martensite were formed as initial martensite and then tempered during partitioning process to precipitateεcarbide with C enrichment,Mn enrichment and homogeneous Si distribution.Compared with the traditional cold-rolled Q&P steel, the Q&P specimens after multiple-cyclic annealing show smaller strength and much larger elongation, ascribing to the coarser microstructure and more efficient transformation induced plasticity(TRIP)effect deriving from retained austenite with high carbon content and larger volume fraction. The application of double annealing treatment can optimize the mechanical properties of Q&P steel to show a striking product of strength and elongation as about 29 GPa%,which efficiently exploit the potential of mechanical performance in low carbon steel. | Fei Peng Yunbo Xu Xingli Gu | 2022 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,7: | 0
