1Monte Carlo simulation based on Geant4 of single event upset induced by heavy ions显示文摘The present work is a computational simulation of single event upset(SEU) induced by heavy ions passing through the device with Geant4-tool based on Monte Carlo transport code.Key parameters affecting SEU occurrence are examined,and related geometrical construction and critical charge are quantified.The MUlti-Functional Package for SEU Analysis(MUFPSA) has been successfully programmed and applied for SEU occurrence after the completion of device geometrical construction,critical charge,and SEU cross section calculation.The proposed MUFPSA has yielded a good agreement with MRED.Specifically,the results show that higher LET incident ions lead to increased SEU vulnerability due to more diffusion and higher energy deposition.In addition,the analytical method of radial ionization profile provides a good complementary interpretation.GENG Chao LIU Jie ZHANG ZhanGang HOU MingDong SUN YouMei XI Kai GU Song DUAN JingLai YAO HuiJun MO Dan LUO Jie 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:6
2Galectin-3-centered paracrine network mediates cardiac inflammation and fibrosis upon β-adrenergic insult显示文摘Rapid over-activation of β-adrenergic receptors (β-AR) following acute stress initiates cardiac inflammation and injury by activating interleukin-18 (IL-18),however,the process of inflammation cascades has not been fully illustrated.The present study aimed to determine the mechanisms of cardiac inflammatory amplification following acute sympathetic activation.With bioinformatics analysis,galectin-3 was identified as a potential key downstream effector of β-AR and IL-18 activation.The serum level of galectin-3 was positively correlated with norepinephrine or IL-18 in patients with chest pain.In the heart of mice treated with β-AR agonist isoproterenol (ISO,5 mg kg^(-1)),galectin-3 expression was upregulated markedly later than IL-18 activation,and Nlrp3^(-/-)and Il18^(-/-)mice did not show ISO-induced galectin-3 upregulation.It was further revealed that cardiomyocyte-derived IL-18 induced galectin-3 expression in macrophages following ISO treatment.Moreover,galectin-3deficiency suppressed ISO-induced cardiac inflammation and fibrosis without blocking ISO-induced IL-18 increase.Treatment with a galectin-3 inhibitor,but not a β-blocker,one day after ISO treatment effectively attenuated cardiac inflammation and injury.In conclusion,galectin-3 is upregulated to exaggerate cardiac inflammation and injury following acute β-AR activation,a galectin-3 inhibitor effectively blocks cardiac injury one day after β-AR insult.Guomin Hu Jimin Wu Huijun Gu Xiangning Deng Wenli Xu Shan Feng Shuaixing Wang Yao Song Zhengda Pang Xiuling Deng Aleksandr E.Vendrov Nageswara R.Madamanchi Marschall S.Runge Xinyu Wang Youyi Zhang Han Xiao Erdan Dong 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,5:3

4The mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 pathway involved in hepatic gluconeogenesis through peroxisome-proliferator-activated receptorγcoactivator-1a显示文摘Cattle can efficiently perform de novo generation of glucose through hepatic gluconeogenesis to meet post-weaning glucose demand.Substantial evidence points to cattle and non-ruminant animals being characterized by phylogenetic features in terms of their differing capacity for hepatic gluconeogenesis,a process that is highly efficient in cattle yet the underlying mechanism remains unclear.Here we used a variety of transcriptome data,as well as tissue and cell-based methods to uncover the mechanisms of high-efficiency hepatic gluconeogenesis in cattle.We showed that cattle can efficiently convert propionate into pyruvate,at least partly,via high expression of acyl-CoA synthetase short-chain family member 1(ACSS1),propionyl-CoA carboxylase alpha chain(PCCA),methylmalonyl-CoA epimerase(MCEE),methylmalonyl-CoA mutase(MMUT),and succinate-CoA ligase(SUCLG2)genes in the liver(P<0.01).Moreover,higher expression of the rate-limiting enzymes of gluconeogenesis,such as phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase(PCK)and fructose 1,6-bisphosphatase(FBP),ensures the efficient operation of hepatic gluconeogenesis in cattle(P<0.01).Mechanistically,we found that cattle liver exhibits highly active mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1(mTORC1),and the expressions of PCCA,MMUT,SUCLG2,PCK,and FBP genes are regulated by the activation of mTORC1(P<0.001).Finally,our results showed that mTORC1 promotes hepatic gluconeogenesis in a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator 1a(PGC-1a)dependent manner.Collectively,our results not only revealed an important mechanism responsible for the quantitative differences in the efficiency of hepatic gluconeogenesis in cattle versus non-ruminant animals,but also established that mTORC1 is indeed involved in the regulation of hepatic gluconeogenesis through PGC-1a.These results provide a novel potential insight into promoting hepatic gluconeogenesis through activated mTORC1 in both ruminants and mammals.Guoyan Wang Jun Zhang Shengru Wu Senlin Qin Yining Zheng Chao Xia Huijun Geng Junhu Yao Lu Deng 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,4:1

8Deletion of CHD8 in cerebellar granule neuron progenitors leads to severe cerebellar hypoplasia,ataxia,and psychiatric behavior in mice显示文摘CHD8 is a candidate gene for autism spectrum disorders and neurological development delay.It has been reported to be essential for neurogenesis in the cerebral cortex,but the function of CHD8 in cerebellum has not been comprehensively investigated.The potential relationship of cerebellum dysplasia with psychiatric disorders in patients with CHD8 mutations is still not clear.In this study,we establish different conditional knockout mouse models to investigate the roles of CHD8 in cerebellar development.Mice with neural stem cell-specific Chd8 deletion exhibit significant reduction of cerebellum volume and no layering structure is detected.Genetic deletion of Chd8 in cerebellar granule neuron progenitors(GNPs)leads to cerebellar hypoplasia,absent of proliferation layer and ectopic of Purkinje neuron.However,no substantial cerebellar dysplasia is detected in mice with Purkinje neuron-or oligodendrocyte-specific Chd8 ablation.Single-cell RNA sequencing indicates that ribosome-related genes and pathways are most significantly disrupted in GNPs,indicating the potential mechanism.Importantly,in addition to the ataxia phenotype,mice with GNPspecific Chd8 ablation present a neuropsychiatric phenotype in three-chamber and light/dark tests.Taken together,our results provide insights not only into the function of CHD8 in cerebellar development,but also the pathogenesis of neuropsychiatric disorders in patients with CHD8 mutations.Xiang Chen Tong Chen Chen Dong Huiyao Chen Xinran Dong Lin Yang Liyuan Hu Huijun Wang Bingbing Wu Ye Yao Yu Xiong Man Xiong Yifeng Lin Wenhao Zhou 2022Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,9:1

15Effects of inter-layer remelting frequency on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of equimolar CoCrFeNiMn high entropy alloys during in-situ powder-bed arc additive manufacturing(PBAAM)process显示文摘An equiatomic CoCrFeNiMn High Entropy Alloy(HEA)was in-situ deposited by the powder-bed arc ad-ditive manufacturing(PBAAM)process for the first time.Comparative research was conducted on the evolution of phase,crystallographic orientation,dislocation morphology,precipitation,and mechanical performance with the accumulation of inter-layer remelting times.The experimental outcomes mani-fested that the PBAAMed CoCrFeNiMn HEA consists of a stable solid-solution FCC structure,with de-creased lattice parameter but slightly increased(full width at half maximum)FWHM as the accumulation of the inter-layer remelting.The{001}<100>cube texture with a weakened texture intensity was de-tected with an increment of inter-layer remelting frequency from once to 5 times,yet it was transformed into{011}<100>Goss texture with a further increase to 7 times.Additionally,the mean grain diameter distinctly decreased,while the volume fraction of(low angle grain boundaries)LAGBs and dislocation density remarkably added up as the accumulated inter-layer remelts.Predominant cellular substructure generated in all process conditions and could be easily differentiated by elemental segregation.Both theσand M 23 C 6 Cr-rich precipitates in nano-scale and submicron MnS precipitate were detected on the grain boundaries of the PBAAMed deposited components,with a rather sparse distribution.Speaking of mechanical performance,the YS,UTS,and hardening rate are generally increased while the UE is grad-ually decreased as increased inter-layer remelting times.The studied PBAAMed CoCrFeNiMn HEA pos-sesses comparable mechanical performances with the counterparts of laser-deposited and as-cast ones.The strengthening mechanisms of the studied material are predominantly the grain boundary strength-ening and dislocation strengthening.This investigation would be a valuable resource in the research field of fabricating HEA alloys with acceptable microstructure and properties using the PBAAM method.Jun Wang Yao Lu Fanghui Jia Wenzhen Xia Fei Lin Jian Han Ruichao Wang Zengxi Pan Huijun Li Zhengyi Jiang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,18:0
163-18 Investigations of Latent Track and Vibrational Spectra of Muscovite Mica Irradiated by Swift Heavy Ions显示文摘Muscovite mica sheets with a thickness of 12 m were irradiated by swift heavy ions Kr and Bi from Heavy IonResearch Facility in Lanzhou(HIRFL). The uences range from 11010 to 11012 ions/cm2. The electronic energyloss (dE/dx)e increases from 5.9 to 31.5 keV/nm. The vibrational modi cations in irradiated mica were investigatedby Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and the latent tracks were observed by transmission electron microscope(TEM). The infrared spectrum shows that motions from all atom types in the muscovite mica structure could befound in modes for all vibrations. As shown in Fig. 1, the intensity of all vibrational modes in mica, including theOH stretch motion at 3621 cm??1, decreased with the increasing (dE/dx)e. The similar tendency is found in samplesirradiated by swift heavy ions with increasing ion uence. 18Temporal Profiles of Antibody Responses, Cytokines, and Survival of COVID-19 Patients: A Retrospective Cohort显示文摘The longitudinal immunologic status of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)-infected patients and its association with the clinical outcome are barely known.Thus,we sought to analyze the temporal profiles of specific antibodies,as well as the associations between the antibodies,proinflammatory cytokines,and survival of patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).A total of 1830 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases were recruited.The temporal profiles of the virus,antibodies,and cytokines of the patients until 12 weeks since illness onset were fitted by the locally weighted scatter plot smoothing method.The mediation effect of cytokines on the associations between antibody responses and survival were explored by mediation analysis.Of the 1830 patients,1435 were detectable for SARS-CoV-2,while 395 were positive in specific antibodies only.Of the 1435 patients,2.4%presented seroconversion for neither immunoglobulin G(IgG)nor immunoglobulin M(IgM)during hospitalization.The seropositive rates of IgG and IgM were 29.6%and 48.1%,respectively,in the first week,and plateaued within five weeks.For the patients discharged from the hospital,the IgM decreased slowly,while high levels of IgG were maintained at around 188 AUmL^(-1) for the 12 weeks since illness onset.In contrast,in the patients who subsequently died,IgM declined rapidly and IgG dropped to 87 AUmL^(-1) at the twelfth week.Elevated interleukin-6,interleukin-8,interleukin-10,interleukin-1b,interleukin-2R,and tumor necrosis factor-a levels were observed in the deceased patients in comparison with the discharged patients,and 12.5%of the association between IgG level and mortality risk was mediated by these cytokines.Our study deciphers the temporal profiles of SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies within the 12 weeks since illness onset and indicates the protective effect of antibody response on survival,which may help to guide prognosis estimation.Li Liu Heng-Gui Chen Ying Li Huijun Li Jiaoyuan Li Yi Wang Shuang Yao Chuan Qin Shutao Tong Xu Yuan Xia Luo Xiaoping Miao An Pan Zheng Liu Liming Cheng 2021Engineering2021,7,7:0
