1An overview of design for CSNS/RCS and beam transport显示文摘The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) is the first accelerator-based pulsed neutron source in China. Its accelerators are made up of an 80 MeV H- linac, a Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (RCS) and two beam transport lines. RCS accumulates and accelerates protons to the design energy of 1.6 GeV, and extracts high energy beam to strike the target. The overview of RCS is presented, and the key problems of the physics design are discussed. 2Developing a bacteriophage cocktail for biocontrol of potato bacterial wilt显示文摘Bacterial wilt is a devastating disease of potato and can cause an 80% production loss. To control wilt using bacteriophage therapy, we isolated and characterized twelve lytic bacteriophages from different water sources in Kenya and China. Based on the lytic curves of the phages with the pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum, one optimal bacteriophage cocktail, P1, containing six phage isolations was formulated and used for studying wilt prevention and treatment efficiency in potato plants growing in pots. The preliminary tests showed that the phage cocktail was very effective in preventing potato bacterial wilt by injection of the phages into the plants or decontamination of sterilized soil spiked with R. solanacearum. Eighty percent of potato plants could be protected from the bacterial wilt(caused by R. solanacearum reference strain GIM1.74 and field isolates), and the P1 cocktail could kill 98% of live bacteria spiked in the sterilized soil at one week after spraying.However, the treatment efficiencies of P1 depended on the timing of application of the phages, the susceptibility of the plants to the bacterial wilt, as well as the virulence of the bacteria infected,suggesting that it is important to apply the phage therapy as soon as possible once there are early signs of the bacterial wilt. 5Fiber laser for on-demand mode generation in 1550 nm band显示文摘Transverse mode characteristics of a laser are related to a variety of interesting applications. An on-demand mode solid laser in the 1064 nm band was proposed previously. In this paper, we provide a fiber laser for on-demand modes in the 1550 nm band to prescribe the pure and high-quality emission of a higher-order transverse laser mode, based on a simple construction with one spatial light modulator(SLM) and a single-mode erbium-doped fiber(SM-EDF). The SLM is designated to generate the desired higher-order mode and separate the higher-order mode and the fundamental mode. The fundamental mode oscillates in the fiber ring laser, and therefore the SM-EDF can be pumped with a single-mode 980 nm laser, no matter what higher-order mode is prescribed.In this proof-of-principle experiment, high-quality higher-order modes are observed from LP01 to LP105.Stable emission and real-time switching between modes can be easily realized by altering the phase on the SLM. 8Supramolecular Self-assembly Formed from Cucurbit[8]uril and p-Hydroxybenzoic Acid显示文摘The binding behavior of cucurbit[8]uril(Q[8])and p-hydroxybenzoic acid(p-HBA)has been investigated using ^(1)H NMR titration experiments,UV-Vis absorption,isothermal titration calorimetry(ITC),and X-ray crystallography.Results revealed that the Q[8]can accommodate two p-HBA molecules to form a 1:2 host-guest inclusion complex in solution,namely(p-HBA)2@Q[8].From a poorly scattering crystal,we were able to identify two symmetry unique Q[8]rings,but with different p-HBA fillings.The structure can be represented as Q[8]+1.5 p-HBA,which gives Q[8]@(p-HBA)2∙Q[8]@p-HBA as the structural formula.This supramolecular structure was screened for its ability to capture iodine.The experimental results showed that the adsorption efficiency of the supramolecular organic framework material for iodine capture was 43.8%,with an equilibrium adsorption capacity of 223.3 mg/g.WANG Chenghui YU Zhichao BAI Qinghong PAN Dingwu PRIOR Timothy J TAO Zhu REDSHAW Carl XIAO Xin 2023Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2023,39,6:0

10Transgressions and the sea-level changes of the western Taiwan Strait since the Late Pleistocene显示文摘The sedimentary sequences since the Late Pleistocene can be divided into Layers E, D, C, B, A from old to young according to systematic analysis of grain-size, pollen and spore, diatom, foraminifera, radiocarbon dating and paleogeomagnetism of 16 sedimentary cores from the sea area of the western Taiwan Strait. The results proved the existences of the Langqi transgression (upper section of Layer D) formed in middle and late stages of early Wurm glacial period, Fuzhou transgression (Layer C) formed in Wurm sub-interglacial period and Changle transgression (Layer A) formed in postglacial period. It was also the first time to discover the Jinmen transgression (Layer E) formed in Riss -Wurm interglacial period. 11Intrinsically Viscoelastic Supramolecular Conjugated Polymer toward Suppressing Coffee-Ring Effect显示文摘The rational molecular design of light-emitting conjugated polymers that inherently suppress the ubiquitous coffee-ring effect(CRE)is a great challenge and the critical bottleneck for printing displays.Herein,we describe a supramolecular route to construct an intrinsically viscoelastic rigid conjugated polymer(RCP)(PHDPF-Cz)toward avoiding the CRE without sacrificing optoelectronic properties.Theπ-πstacking interactions derived fromthe pendant carbazole(Cz)units enable PHDPF-Cz to self-assemble into criss-cross nanofibers and endow its solutionwith great viscosity.Consequently,a high-quality and continuous PHDPFCz film was obtained by impeding the transport of aggregates to the droplet edge due to outward capillary flow during evaporation,in sharp contrast to the random aggregate migration and rapid precipitation generated fromthe controlled poly[4-(6-(9H-diphenylaniline-9-yl)hexyloxy)-9,9-diphenylfluorene]-co-[5-(6-(9H-diphenylaniline-9-yl)hexyloxy)-9,9-diphenylfluorene]and poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene)solutions.Finally,an efficient random laser is also achieved based on these cross-linked films with ultrastable single-chain excitonic behavior,confirming the effectiveness of our design strategy.Yamin Han Lubing Bai Xiang An Man Xu Chuanxin Wei Zongqiong Lin Mengna Yu Jinyi Lin Lili Sun Ning Sun Changting Wei Linghai Xie Xuehua Ding Qi Wei Chengrong Yin Chenghui Li Wenming Su Wei Huang 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,11:0
