| 2 | Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and other fluorochemicals in viscera and muscle of farmed pigs and chickens in Beijing,China显示文摘Eleven perfluorinated compounds(PFCs) were determined in tissue samples from farmed pigs and chickens(n=143) that were purchased in Beijing in March 2009.The total PFCs mean concentration was the highest in pig liver(3.438 ng g-1 wet weight(ww)),followed by pig kidney(0.508 ng g-1(ww)),pig heart(0.167 ng g-1(ww)),chicken liver(0.098 ng g-1(ww)),chicken heart(0.050 ng g-1(ww)),pork loin(0.018 ng g-1(ww)),and chicken breast(0.012 ng g-1(ww)).Among the PFCs analyzed,perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS) was the predominant compound in viscera and muscle of farmed pigs and chickens.In addition,a strong linear correlation(r = 0.932) was observed between the concentrations of PFOS and perfluoroundecanoic acid(PFUnDA) in pig liver.Our preliminary conclusion is that there is little potential risk of exposure to PFCs via the consumption of these products in Beijing. | WANG JieMing SHI YaLi PAN YuanYuan CAI YaQi | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,31: | 24 |
| 3 | Evaluation of perfluorinated compounds in seven wastewater treatment plants in Beijing urban areas显示文摘The presence of perfluorinated compounds(PFCs)in seven major wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)in Beijing was investigated in the current study.We detected nine PFCs in all the wastewater and sludge samples.Perfluorooctane acid(PFOA)is the dominant PFCs in influents and effluents,while perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS)is the major contaminant in sludge.The highest PFC concentration was found in plants at Qinghe and Jiuxianqiao WWTP,while the lowest was found at Fangzhuang WWTP.The total values of PFC range from 2.88 to 176 ng/L in influents,from 5.48 to 498 ng/L in effluents,and from 1.21 to 32.0 ng/g(dry wt)in sludge.The fact that effluents usually contain higher levels of PFCs than influents suggests that additional PFCs are produced during the wastewater treatment processes.However,PFOS decreases in effluents than in influents in 62%of the water samples.This may be due to the adsorption and removal of the sludge during the active process.Perfluoroalkyl carboxylates(PFCAs)were found significantly correlated with each other in the effluents,which may indicate their similar sources or the existence of their potential precursors in the wastewater or treatment processes.The mass flows of PFC discharges into WWTPs are 0.4–51.4 mg/day,and the mass flows of PFCs in effluents exceed those in influents by 127%.Domestic and commercial wastewaters are suggested to be the major sources of PFC pollution in WWTPs in Beijing. | PAN YuanYuan SHI YaLi WANG JieMing CAI YaQi | 2011 | Science China Chemistry2011,54,3: | 16 |

| 5 | Perfluorinated compounds in milk, milk powder and yoghurt purchased from markets in China显示文摘The exposure to perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) through the diet for humans is of great concern. Among the diet, dairy products are in great demand. This paper reports the study on the levels of 9 perfluorinated acids and 2 fluorotelomer acids in milk, milk powder and yoghurt purchased from Chinese markets from 2008 to 2009. The analytes were quantitated by high performance liquid chromatography/electrospray tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS/MS). In milk samples, perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA) and perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) were detected frequently, both in 68% of samples. In milk powder samples, perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and PFNA were the only detected PFCs and none of them was observed in more than 35% of samples. In yoghurt, PFOA was the most frequently detected compound, found in 69% of samples. None of fluorotelomer acids was observed in any samples. The mean concentrations of total PFCs were 178 pg/g (wet weight) in milk, 98 pg/g (dry weight) in milk powder and 42 pg/g in yoghurt (wet weight). It is notable that the data of this study indicate significant differences (P<0.001) among three kinds of packaging of milk in the concentration of total PFCs. A preliminary human health risk assessment of milk and dairy products consumption was conducted in this study. | 7 | Long-term bone and lung consequences associated with hospital-acquired severe acute respiratory syndrome:a 15-year follow-up from a prospective cohort study显示文摘The most severe sequelae after rehabilitation from SARS are femoral head necrosis and pulmonary fibrosis. We performed a 15-year follow-up on the lung and bone conditions of SARS patients. We evaluated the recovery from lung damage and femoral head necrosis in an observational cohort study of SARS patients using pulmonary CT scans, hip joint MRI examinations, pulmonary function tests and hip joint function questionnaires. Eighty medical staff contracted SARS in 2003. Two patients died of SARS, and78 were enrolled in this study from August 2003 to March 2018. Seventy-one patients completed the 15-year follow-up. The percentage of pulmonary lesions on CT scans diminished from 2003(9.40 ± 7.83)% to 2004(3.20 ± 4.78)%(P < 0.001) and remained stable thereafter until 2018(4.60 ± 6.37)%. Between 2006 and 2018, the proportion of patients with interstitial changes who had improved pulmonary function was lower than that of patients without lesions, as demonstrated by the one-second ratio(FEV1/FVC%, t = 2.21, P = 0.04) and mid-flow of maximum expiration(FEF25%–75%, t = 2.76, P = 0.01). The volume of femoral head necrosis decreased significantly from 2003(38.83 ± 21.01)% to 2005(30.38 ± 20.23)%(P = 0.000 2), then declined slowly from 2005 to 2013(28.99 ± 20.59)% and plateaued until 2018(25.52 ± 15.51)%. Pulmonary interstitial damage and functional decline caused by SARS mostly recovered, with a greater extent of recovery within 2 years after rehabilitation. | 8 | Ultraviolet 3D digital image correlation applied for deformation measurement in thermal testing with infrared quartz lamps显示文摘In thermal-structural testing of hypersonic materials and structures,deformation measurement on the front surface of an object directly heated by quartz lamps is highly necessary and very challenging.This work describes a novel front-surface high-temperature deformation measurement technique,which adopts ultraviolet 3D digital image correlation(UV 3D-DIC)to observe and measure the high-temperature deformation fields on front surfaces directly heated by quartz lamps.Compared with existing blue light DIC techniques,the established UV 3D-DIC,which combines UV CCD camera,active UV illumination and bandpass filter imaging,can effectively suppress the strong disturbing light emitted by the quartz lamps and the heated sample itself during heating process.Two experiments were carried out to verify the robustness and accuracy of the developed technique:(1)direct observation of front surfaces of a hypersonic thermal structure sample heated from room temperature to 1050℃,and(2)front-surface thermal stain and coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)measurement of an Inconel 718 sample up to 800℃.The well matched strain and CTE results with literature data show that UV 3D-DIC system is an effective technique for front-surface deformation measurement and has great potential in characterizing deformation response of hypersonic materials and structures subjected to transient aerodynamic heating. | Yali DONG Jiaqing ZHAO Bing PAN | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,3: | 2 |
