1Developing superior alleles of yield genes in rice by artificial mutagenesis using the CRISPR/Cas9 system显示文摘Rice yield is an important and complex agronomic trait controlled by multiple genes.In recent decades,dozens of yield-associated genes in rice have been cloned,many of which can increase production in the form of loss or degeneration of function.However,mutations occurring randomly under natural conditions have provided very limited genetic resources for yield increases.In this study,potentially yield-increasing alleles of two genes closely associated with yield were edited artificially.The recently developed CRISPR/Cas9system was used to edit two yield genes:Grain number 1a(Gn1a)and DENSE AND ERECT PANICLE1(DEP1).Several mutants were identified by a target sequence analysis.Phenotypic analysis confirmed one mutant allele of Gn1a and three of DEP1 conferring yield superior to that conferred by other natural high-yield alleles.Our results demonstrate that favorable alleles of the Gnla and DEP1 genes,which are considered key factors in rice yield increases,could be developed by artificial mutagenesis using genome editing technology.Liyu Huang Ru Zhang Guangfu Huang Yanxia Li Getachew Melaku Shilai Zhang Haitao Chen Yanjuan Zhao Jing Zhang Yesheng Zhang Fengyi Hu 2018The Crop Journal2018,6,5:8
2Techniques for searching first integrals by Lie group and application to gyroscope system显示文摘In the paper, the methods of finding first integrals of an autonomous system using one-parameter Lie groups are discussed. A class of nontrivial one-parameter Lie groups admitted by the classical gyroscope system is found, and based on the properties of first integral determined by the one-parameter Lie group, the fourth first integral of the gyroscope system in Euler case, Lagrange case and Kovalevskaya case can be obtained in a uniform idea. 3Immunity-and-matrix-regulatory cells derived from human embryonic stem cells safely and effectively treat mouse lung injury and fibrosis显示文摘Lung injury and fibrosis represent the most significant outcomes of severe and acute lung disorders,including COVID-19.However,there are still no effective drugs to treat lung injury and fibrosis.In this study,we report the generation of clinical-grade human embryonic stem cells(hESCs)-derived immunity-and matrix-regulatory cells(IMRCs)produced under good manufacturing practice requirements,that can treat lung injury and fibrosis in vivo.We generate IMRCs by sequentially differentiating hESCs with serum-free reagents.IMRCs possess a unique gene expression profile distinct from that of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(UCMSCs),such as higher expression levels of proliferative,immunomodulatory and anti-fibrotic genes.Moreover,intravenous delivery of IMRCs inhibits both pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis in mouse models of lung injury,and significantly improves the survival rate of the recipient mice in a dose-dependent manner,likely through paracrine regulatory mechanisms.IMRCs are superior to both primary UCMSCs and the FDA-approved drug pirfenidone,with an excellent efficacy and safety profile in mice and monkeys.In light of public health crises involving pneumonia,acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome,our findings suggest that IMRCs are ready for clinical trials on lung disorders.Jun Wu Dingyun Song Zhongwen Li Baojie Guo Yani Xiao Wenjing Liu Lingmin Liang Chunjing Feng Tingting Gao Yanxia Chen Ying Li Zai Wang Jianyan Wen Shengnan Yang Peipei Liu Lei Wang Yukai Wang Liang Peng Glyn Nigel Stacey Zheng Hu Guihai Feng Wei Li Yan Huo Ronghua Jin Ng Shyh-Chang Qi Zhou Liu Wang Baoyang Hu Huaping Dai Jie Hao 2020Cell Research2020,30,9:7

5Effect of pH,fulvic acid and temperature on the sorption of uranyl on ZrP_2O_7显示文摘The sorption of UO22+ onto ZrP2O7 was studied using the batch technique and the point of zero charge of ZrP2O7 was obtained through mass titration.The results indicated that sorption of UO22+ onto ZrP2O7 was strongly affected by pH,solid-to-liquid ratio (m/V),the species of electrolyte in solution and fulvic acid (FA),but was insensitive to ionic strength.The sorption of UO22+ increased with increasing pH and m/V.The presence of FA enhanced UO22+ sorption onto ZrP2O7 at low pH.The presence of phosphate or sulfate caused opposite effects on the sorption of UO22+ onto ZrP2O7.Addition of citrate also significantly affected UO22+ sorption.The sorption of UO22+ increased as the temperature of the system increased.The Langmuir and Freundlich models were used to simulate the sorption isotherms of UO22+ onto ZrP2O7 at different temperatures.The results indicated that the Freundlich model described UO22+ sorption better than the Langmuir model.Thermodynamic parameters for the sorption process were calculated from the temperature dependent sorption isotherms.The results suggested that the sorption process of UO22+ onto ZrP2O7 is spontaneous and endothermic.The desorption process of UO22+ from ZrP2O7 was also investigated and it was found that sorption onto ZrP2O7 was irreversible.QIAN LiJuan,HU PeiZhuo,JIANG ZhenJiang,GENG YanXia & WU WangSuo Radiochemistry Laboratory,School of Nuclear Science and Technology,Lanzhou University,Lanzhou 73000,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,6:4
6Accumulation and Elimination Kinetics of 2-Methylisoborneol in Crucian Carp (Carassius carassius)显示文摘2-methylisoborneol(2-MIB) is a common, earthysmelling compound that causes taste and odor issues in aquaculture. To quantify the distribution, absorption, and depuration of 2-MIB in crucian carp(Carassius carassius), we detected and measured 2-MIB it via microwave, headspace solid-phase microextraction(HS-SPME), and gas chromatography before and after exposing fish to two different concentrations of 2-MIB(200 ng/L and 500 ng/L). The results showed that during the exposure time, the fish absorbed 2-MIB rapidly within 4 h. After exposure to 2-MIB for 120 h, the 2-MIB in gill and liver were rapidly removed. The processes of accumulation and elimination of 2-MIB in fish were investigated using the one-compartment kinetic model. The modeling results showed that the range of the uptake rate constant(k1) was 0.49-6.91. The range of the elimination rate constant(k2) was 0.05-0.27 and uptake rates were higher than elimination rates. 7Excretion of manure-borne estrogens and androgens and their potential risk estimation in the Yangtze River Basin显示文摘The Yangtze River is the longest river in China, and the river basin spans one fifth of the area of the whole country. Based on statistical data, the excretion of manure-borne steroid hormones, including steroid estrogens(SEs) and steroid androgens(SAs), in 10 provinces of China within the region has been estimated. The potential environmental and ecological risk of manure-borne steroid estrogens to the surface water in this region was also assessed. The manure-borne SE and SA excretions in the 10 provinces and municipalities vary in the order: Sichuan > Hunan > Hubei > Yunnan > Jiangsu > Anhui > Jiangxi >Chongqing > Qinghai > Shanghai. The highest increase of manure-borne SEs(1434.3 kg)and SAs(408.5 kg) was found in Hunan and Hubei provinces, respectively, and the total excretion in 2013 was 65% more than 15 years earlier in these two provinces. However, the emissions in Anhui and Shanghai decreased in this 15 year period of time. Swine urine,chicken feces, cattle urine, and laying hen feces were considered the dominant sources of manure-borne E1, βE2, αE2, and SAs, respectively. Although Jiangsu province did not have the largest excretion of manure-borne SEs, it had the highest level of predicted17β-estradiol equivalency(EEQs) value of 16.65 ng/L in surface water because of the limited surface water resources. 8Altered serous levels of monoamine neurotransmitter metabolites in patients with refractory and non-refractory depression显示文摘The study examined plasma metabolite changes of monoamine neurotransmitters in patients with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and non-TRD before and after therapy. All 30 TRD and 30 non-TRD patients met the diagnostic criteria for a depressive episode in accordance with the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision. Before treatment, and at 4, 6, and 8 weeks after treatment, the plasma metabolite products of monoamine neurotransmitters in TRD group, including 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid, 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl ethylene glycol and homovanillic acid, were significantly lower than those in the non-TRD group. After two types of anti-depressive therapy with 5-serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, combined with psychotherapy, the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale scores were significantly reduced in both groups of patients, and the serous levels of 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid and 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl ethylene glycol were significantly increased. In contrast, the homovanillic acid level exhibited no significant change. 9A Method for Mass-rearing Aphidius gifuensis(Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae)显示文摘[Objective] This study presents a method for mass rearing of Aphidius gifuensis, a dominant endoparasitoid of Myzus persicae on tobacco in Southwest China. [Method] The tobacco cultivar Honghuadajinyuan(Nicotiana tabacum) was used as the host plant and M. persicae was the host insect. In a greenhouse, tobacco seedlings were reared in plastic trays. The seedlings at three-true-leaf stage were inoculated with two to three aphids per plant using aphid source with a parasitism rate of 47% ±3.9%. [Result] By this inoculation method, the aphids and parasites were simultaneously inoculated on host plants. After approximately 25 d of rearing, we were able to produce 82.5±5.17 aphid mummies per tobacco seedling. A total of 445 500 aphid mummies were produced in one greenhouse(36 rearing trays per greenhouse) during an approximately 50-day rearing period. The emergence rate was 93.4% ±2.76%, and 54% of the mummies were females. 13Bone marrow stromal cell versus neural stem cell transplantation in a C6 glioma rat model显示文摘BACKGROUND: Embryonic neural stem cells (NSCs) have provided positive effects for the treatment of glioma. However, the source for embryonic NSCs remains limited and high amplification conditions are required. Bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) have been proposed for the treatment of glioma. OBJECTIVE: To investigate biological changes in NSCs and BMSCs following transplantation into rat models of glioma. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at the Embryonic Stem Cell Research Laboratory of Yunyang Medical College from February 2006 to August 2008. MATERIALS: The rat C6 glioma cell line was purchased from Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences; mouse anti-bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) monoclonal antibody and Cy3-labeled goat anti-mouse IgG antibody was purchased from Upstate, USA. METHODS: A total of 95 Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned to three groups: NSC (n = 35), transplanted with > 6 × 106 NSCs via left medial hind limb; BMSC (n = 35), transplanted with > 1 × 106 BMSCs via left medial hind limb; model group (n = 25), injected with the same volume of 0.1 mmol/L phosphate buffered saline. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Gliomal growth and size were assessed by nuclear magnetic resonance, and glioma morphological features were observed following hematoxylin-eosin staining and BrdU immunohistochemistry 3 and 4 weeks following transplantation. RESULTS: The average survival of rats in the BMSC, NSC, and model groups was 4.03, 4.28, and 3.88 weeks. At 3 weeks, there was no significant difference in the average glioma diameter between the BMSC and model groups (P > 0.05). However, gliomal diameter was significantly decreased in the NSC group compared with the model group (P < 0.05). At 4 weeks, there was no statistical difference between the groups (P > 0.05). BrdU immunohistochemistry revealed that BMSCs and NSCs appeared to migrate to the gliomas. CONCLUSION: NSCs inhibited glioma cell growth and prolonged rat survival. 14Efficient CO_(2) adsorption and mechanism on nitrogen-doped porous carbons显示文摘In this work,nitrogen-doped porous carbons(NACs)were fabricated as an adsorbent by urea modification and KOH activation.The CO_(2) adsorption mechanism for the NACs was then explored.The NACs are found to present a large specific surface area(1920.72-3078.99 m2·g^(-1))and high micropore percentage(61.60%-76.23%).Under a pressure of 1 bar,sample NAC-650-650 shows the highest CO_(2) adsorption capacity up to 5.96 and 3.92 mmol·g^(-1) at 0 and 25℃,respectively.In addition,the CO_(2)/N_(2) selectivity of NAC-650-650 is 79.93,much higher than the value of 49.77 obtained for the nonnitrogen-doped carbon AC-650-650.The CO_(2) adsorption capacity of the NAC-650-650 sample maintains over 97% after ten cycles.Analysis of the results show that the CO_(2) capacity of the NACs has a linear correlation(R^(2)=0.9633)with the cumulative pore volume for a pore size less than 1.02 nm.The presence of nitrogen and oxygen enhances the CO_(2)/N_(2) selectivity,and pyrrole-N and hydroxy groups contribute more to the CO_(2) adsorption.In situ Fourier transform infrared spectra analysis indicates that CO_(2) is adsorbed onto the NACs as a gas.Furthermore,the physical adsorption mechanism is confirmed by adsorption kinetic models and the isosteric heat,and it is found to be controlled by CO_(2) diffusion.The CO_(2) adsorption kinetics for NACs at room temperature and in pure CO_(2) is in accordance with the pseudo-first-order model and Avramís fractional-order kinetic model.Yanxia Wang Xiude Hu Tuo Guo Jian Hao Chongdian Si Qingjie Guo 2021Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021,15,3:1

16Emergy evaluation of the artificial forest ecosystems in the watershed of Miyun Reservoir:a case study for ecosystems valuation and environmental management显示文摘To build the artificial forest ecosystem is the major eco-economic development model in the watershed of Miyun Reservoir. It is very important to evaluate the benefits of those ecosystems. Emergy theories are very helpful for us to establish a science-based assessment framework. Emergy evaluation of the artificial forest ecosystems in the watershed of Miyun Reservoir is used to asses the relative values of several ecological functions (sometimes called ecosystem services) and main ecosystem storages (sometimes called natural capital). The main driving energies, internal processes and storages are evaluated. The main functions, including transpiration, GPP and infiltration, are evaluated, which are 609em$/ha/yr, 6,245em$/ha/yr and 340em$/ha/yr respectively. The total values of major environmental services are 4,683em$/ha/yr in the artificial forest ecosystem. The main storages of natural capital including live biomass, soil moisture, organic matter, underground water and landform are estimated, which are 112,028em$/ha, 9em$/ha, 40,718em$/ha, 34em$/ha and 6,400,514em$/ha respectively. The largest value is landform, which accounts for 97.7% of these calculated total emdollar values. The concept of replacement value is explored using the emergy values of both ecosystem services and natural capital. 20Weakly solvated electrolytes conducive to uniform lithium deposition显示文摘Rechargeable lithium metal batteries(LMBs)meet the demands of high-energy applications in electric vehicles and truck transportation[1-4].Yet,the low coulombic efficiency(CE)hinders the widespread application of Li anode,which is closely related to the electrolytes[5-7].The CE of traditional electrolytes for Li anodes is closely related to the speciation of the plated Li during cycling,where fluorinated solvents with weakly solvated Li+usually exhibit larger Li deposition particles with higher CE[8,9].But the relationship between the morphological difference and CE in different electrolytes is less studied[10,11].There are three relationships between the deposition kinetics of interface Li and the cycling of the battery,no correlation,positive correlation[12,13],and negative correlation[14,15]have been reported on active Li anodes,which neglects the reactivity of Li metal in kinetics.Solid electrolyte interphase(SEl)was formed by the electrolytes reacting with Li,and Li deposition can occur on the Li/SEl interface or the fresh Li/electrolyte interface[16,17].Each pathway has different deposition kinetics.Therefore,in order to understand the relationship between electrolyte kinetics and lithium deposition morphology,it is important to solve the kinetics of the two ways in the electrolyte.Xinhong Hu Jiandong Liu Yaxiong Yang Yanxia Liu Qibing Wu Jianmin Ma 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,12:0
