1Pediatric reference intervals in China(PRINCE):design and rationale for a large,multicenter collaborative cross-sectional study显示文摘There is a lack of accurate pediatric reference intervals(RIs) in China, with most commonly used RIs established without consideration of the effect of age and gender. The Pediatric Reference Intervals in China(PRINCE) project aims to establish and verify pediatric RIs for 31 common laboratory measurands.The project will be a large, multicenter cross-sectional study:14,490 healthy children and adolescents aged up to 19 years will be surveyed by 10 children's hospitals and one pediatric department of a university hospital. To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of the study methods, 602 children were surveyed in the pilot phase of the PRINCE study in April 2017: it found that some measurands were distinctly age dependent and that there were differences between values for males and females. The results of the pilot study affirmed the necessity of the PRINCE project for Chinese pediatrics. The pilot also indicated potential difficulties in the full survey, e.g., difficulties in recruiting children aged under 3 years and insufficient collection of blood samples from infants. 2Variable frequency of pulse hydraulic fracturing for improving permeability in coal seam显示文摘Variable frequency,a new pattern of pulse hydraulic fracturing,is presented for improving permeability in coal seam.A variable frequency pulse hydraulic fracturing testing system was built,the mould with triaxial loading was developed.Based on the monitor methods of pressure sensor and acoustic emission,the trials of two patterns of pulse hydraulic fracturing of single frequency and variable frequency were carried out,and at last fracturing mechanism was analyzed.The results show that the effect of variable frequency on fracture extension is better than that of single frequency based on the analysis of macroscopic figures and AE.And the shortage of single frequency is somewhat remedied when the frequency is variable.Under variable frequency,the pressure process can be divided into three stages:low frequency band,pressure stability band and high frequency band,and rupture pressure of the sample is smaller than that of the condition of single frequency.Based on the Miner fatigue theory,the effect of different loading sequences on sample rupture is discussed and the results show that it is better to select the sequence of low frequency at first and then high frequency.Our achievements can give a basis for the improvement and optimization of the pulse hydraulic fracturing technology.Li Quangui Lin Baiquan Zhai Cheng Ni Guanhua Peng Shen Sun Chen Cheng Yanying 2013International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,6:12
3Evaluation of water resources conserved by forests in the Hani rice terraces system of Honghe County,Yunnan,China:an application of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model显示文摘The Hani Rice Terraces System, based on gravity-flow irrigation, is one of the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems(GIAHS) pilot sites selected by FAO in 2010. The water resource plays an important role in the sustainable development of this system. The value of water conserved by the forest is influenced by natural, economic and social factors. In this paper, the water quality, per capita water resources, per capita GDP and population density are chosen as indices to construct an index system for a comprehensive evaluation of water resources value. The weights of these indices are 0.443, 0.31, 0.141 and 0.106 respectively, which are determined by the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) method. The water resources value has been assessed by the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model. The results show that the water resources value in the Hani Rice Terraces System is 4.25 RMB/m^3. 4Efficacy and safety of low-dose interleukin-2 in combination with methotrexate in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis:a randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled phase 2 trial显示文摘Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is an aggressive autoimmune arthritis,and current therapies remain unsatisfactory due to low remission rate and substantially adverse effects.Low-dose interleukin-2(Ld-IL2)is potentially a therapeutic approach to further improve the disease.This randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Ld-IL2 in patients with active RA.Patients were randomly assigned(1:1)to receive Ld-IL2,defined as a dose of 1 million IU,or placebo in a 12-week trial with a 12-week follow-up.Three cycles of Ld-IL2 or placebo were administered subcutaneously every other day for 2 weeks(a total of 7 doses),followed by a 2-week break.All patients received a stable dose of methotrexate(MTX).The primary outcomes were the proportion of patients achieving the ACR20,DAS28-ESR<2.6,and the change from baseline in CDAI or SDAI at week 24.Secondary endpoints included other clinical responses and safety.The primary outcomes were achieved in the perprotocol population.The improvements from baseline in CDAI and SDAI were significantly greater across time points for the LdIL2+MTX group(n=17)than for the placebo+MTX group(n=23)(P=0.018 and P=0.015,respectively).More patients achieved ACR20 response in the Ld-IL2+MTX group than those in the placebo+MTX group at week 12(70.6%vs 43.5%)and at week 24(76.5%vs 56.5%)(P=0.014).In addition,low Treg and high IL-21 were associated with good responses to Ld-IL2.Ld-IL-2 treatment was well-tolerated in this study.These results suggested that Ld-IL2 was effective and safe in RA.ClinicalTrials.gov number:NCT 02467504.Xiaoying Zhang Miao Miao Ruijun Zhang Xu Liu Xiaozhen Zhao Miao Shao Tian Liu Yuebo Jin Jiali Chen Huixin Liu Xia Zhang Yun Li Yunshan Zhou Yue Yang Ru Li Haihong Yao Yanying Liu Chun Li Yuhui Li Limin Ren Yin Su Xiaolin Sun Jing He Zhanguo Li 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4:7

6Transformative hyaluronic acid-based active targeting supramolecular nanoplatform improves long circulation and enhances cellular uptake in cancer therapy显示文摘Hyaluronic acid(HA) is a natural ligand of tumor-targeted drug delivery systems(DDS) due to the relevant CD44 receptor overexpressed on tumor cell membranes. However, other HA receptors(HARE and LYVE-1) are also overexpressing in the reticuloendothelial system(RES). Therefore,polyethylene glycol(PEG) modification of HA-based DDS is necessary to reduce RES capture.Unfortunately, pegylation remarkably inhibits tumor cellular uptake and endosomal escapement,significantly compromising the in vivo antitumor efficacy. Herein, we developed a Dox-loaded HA-based transformable supramolecular nanoplatform(Dox/HCVBP) to overcome this dilemma. Dox/HCVBP contains a tumor extracellular acidity-sensitive detachable PEG shell achieved by a benzoic imine linkage.The in vitro and in vivo investigations further demonstrated that Dox/HCVBP could be in a 'stealth' state at blood stream for a long circulation time due to the buried HA ligands and the minimized nonspecific interaction by PEG shell. However, it could transform into a 'recognition' state under the tumor acidic microenvironment for efficient tumor cellular uptake due to the direct exposure of active targeting ligand HA following PEG shell detachment. 7Homogenized Daily Relative Humidity Series in China during 1960?2017显示文摘Surface relative humidity(RH)is a key element for weather and climate monitoring and research.However,RH is not as commonly applied in studying climate change,partly because the observation series of RH are prone to inhomogeneous biases due to non-climate changes in the observation system.A homogenized dataset of daily RH series from 746 stations in Chinese mainland for the period 1960–2017,ChinaRHv1.0,has been developed.Most(685 or 91.82%of the total)station time series were inhomogeneous with one or more break points.The major breakpoints occurred in the early 2000s for many stations,especially in the humid and semi-humid zones,due to the implementation of automated observation across the country.The inhomogeneous biases in the early manual records before this change are positive relative to the recent automatic records,for most of the biased station series.There are more break points detected by using the MASH(Multiple Analysis of Series for Homogenization)method,with biases mainly around?0.5%and 0.5%.These inhomogeneous biases are adjusted with reference to the most recent observations for each station.Based on the adjusted observations,the regional mean RH series of China shows little long-term trend during 1960–2017[0.006%(10 yr)^?1],contrasting with a false decreasing trend[?0.414%(10 yr)?1]in the raw data.It is notable that ERA5 reanalysis data match closely with the interannual variations of the raw RH series in China,including the jump in the early 2000s,raising a caveat for its application in studying climate change in the region.Zhen LI Zhongwei YAN Yani ZHU Nicolas FREYCHET Simon TETT 2020Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,4:7
8Immunity-and-matrix-regulatory cells derived from human embryonic stem cells safely and effectively treat mouse lung injury and fibrosis显示文摘Lung injury and fibrosis represent the most significant outcomes of severe and acute lung disorders,including COVID-19.However,there are still no effective drugs to treat lung injury and fibrosis.In this study,we report the generation of clinical-grade human embryonic stem cells(hESCs)-derived immunity-and matrix-regulatory cells(IMRCs)produced under good manufacturing practice requirements,that can treat lung injury and fibrosis in vivo.We generate IMRCs by sequentially differentiating hESCs with serum-free reagents.IMRCs possess a unique gene expression profile distinct from that of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(UCMSCs),such as higher expression levels of proliferative,immunomodulatory and anti-fibrotic genes.Moreover,intravenous delivery of IMRCs inhibits both pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis in mouse models of lung injury,and significantly improves the survival rate of the recipient mice in a dose-dependent manner,likely through paracrine regulatory mechanisms.IMRCs are superior to both primary UCMSCs and the FDA-approved drug pirfenidone,with an excellent efficacy and safety profile in mice and monkeys.In light of public health crises involving pneumonia,acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome,our findings suggest that IMRCs are ready for clinical trials on lung disorders.Jun Wu Dingyun Song Zhongwen Li Baojie Guo Yani Xiao Wenjing Liu Lingmin Liang Chunjing Feng Tingting Gao Yanxia Chen Ying Li Zai Wang Jianyan Wen Shengnan Yang Peipei Liu Lei Wang Yukai Wang Liang Peng Glyn Nigel Stacey Zheng Hu Guihai Feng Wei Li Yan Huo Ronghua Jin Ng Shyh-Chang Qi Zhou Liu Wang Baoyang Hu Huaping Dai Jie Hao 2020Cell Research2020,30,9:7
9Achievements in cancer research supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China显示文摘For the past two decades,great achievements have been made in cancer research of China and the majority of them were supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC).In this article,we reviewed the funding history of NSFC including the number of proposals,the amount of grants,distribution of supported program categories during the period of 1987 to 2012 and the representative achievements made by continuous support of NSFC.Also,the impacts of NSFC support on discipline development and talent fostering were analyzed.From 1987 to 2012,a total of 8738 proposals related to cancer research were funded by NSFC.The percentages of the Research Program,Talent-Training Program,and the Research Environment Program were 61.19%,36.32%,and 2.49%,respectively.Under the support of NSFC,cancer research in China has achieved a significantly rapid and balanced development in both disciplines and scientist resources.HONG Wei LI Cui ZHANG LiPing XU YanYing ZHANG Jun HU Hai DONG ErDan 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,1:5
10Synthesis and Microstructure Analysis of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete with Carbide Slag Addition显示文摘Synthesis of autoclaved aerated concrete(AAC) has been carried out with carbide slag addition, and the carbide slag could be used as a main material to produce the AAC with the compressive strength about 2 MPa and the density below 0.6 g?cm-3. In this study, quartz sand acted as frame structure phase in the matrix, and quartz addition also infl uenced the Si/Ca of starting material. Tobermorite and CSH gel were formed readily at 62%, which seemed to enhance the compressive strength of samples. Curing time seemed to affect the morphology of phase produced, and specimen with the plate-like tobermorite formed at 10 h appeared to have a better compressive strength development than the fiber-like one at 18 h. The higher curing temperature seemed to favor the tobermorite and CSH gel formation, which also exerted a significant effect on the strength development of the samples. On the micro-scale, the formed CSH gel was filled in the interface of the matrix, and the tobermorite appeared to grow in internal-surface of the pores and interstices. 11Scale invariant features extraction for stereo vision显示文摘Stable local feature detection is a fundamental component of many stereo vision problems such as 3-D reconstruction, object localization, and object tracking. A robust method for extracting scale-invariant feature points is presented. First, the Harris corners in three-level pyramid are extracted. Then, the points detected at the highest level of the pyramid are correctly propagated to the lower level by pyramid based scale invariant (PBSI) method. The corners detected repeatedly in different levels are chosen as ffnal feature points. Finally, the characteristic scale is obtained based on maximum entropy method. 12Hot deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of the laser solid formed TC4 titanium alloy显示文摘Hot compressive experiments of the laser solid formed(LSFed)TC4 titanium alloy were conducted at a wide temperature range of 650-950℃and strain rate of 0.01-10 s^(-1).The Arrheniustype constitutive models of the LSFed TC4 alloy were established at the temperature range of 800-950℃and of 650-800℃,respectively.The average relative error between the predicted stresses and experimental values in those two temperature ranges are 10.4%and 8.3%,respectively,indicating that the prediction models constructed in this paper are in a good agreement with experimental data.Processing maps were established by the principle of dynamic materials modeling on the basis of the data achieved from the hot compression experiments.The processing parameters corresponding to the stable and unstable regions of material deformation can be determined from the processing maps.The microstructure evolution of the stable and unstable regions of the samples after tests were observed.Finally,the effect of hot compressive parameters on the microstructure were investigated to research the dynamic recrystallization and the texture of the deformed LSFed TC4 alloy.Xiawei YANG Yanying WANG Xiurong DONG Chong PENG Baijin JI Yaxin XU Wenya LI 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,5:3
13The Salt Reduction and Yield Increase Effects of Smashing Ridging Transforming Saline-alkali Land and Its Development Prospects显示文摘Using smashing ridging tillage machine and smashing ridging technology invented by the authors,transformation test of saline-alkali land by smashing ridging was conducted respectively in Xinjiang and Shaanxi during 2015-2016. 14Novel soybean peptide iglycin ameliorates insulin resistance of high-fat diet fed C57BL/6J mice and differentiated 3T3L1 adipocytes with improvement of insulin signaling and mitochondrial function显示文摘Soy consumption has been associated with potential health benefits in reducing chronic diseases.These physiological functions have been attributed to soy proteins or more commonly to bioactive peptides.Thus,more studies are required to identify these bioactive peptides,and elucidate their biological mechanisms of action.In the present study,a novel peptide iglycin was purifi ed from soybean seeds with a molecular mass of 3.88 k Da.Thereafter,iglycin reduced fasting blood glucose and restored insulin sensitivity of C57 BL/6 J mice on a high-fat diet with increased phosphorylation of insulin receptor substrate 1(IRS1)and AKT in adipose tissue.Furthermore,it improved glucose uptake,induced translocation of intracellular GLUT4 to plasma membrane and activation of insulin signaling in adipocytes under insulin-resistant condition.In addition,it decreased reactive oxygen species production,lipid peroxidation and inhibited adipocyte apoptosis with improved mitochondrial function as evidenced by up-regulation of succinate dehydrogenase activity,mitochondrial membrane potential and intracellular ATP store.These data suggested that iglycin ameliorated insulin resistance via activation of insulin signaling,which was associated with inhibition of oxidative stress,adipocyte apoptosis,and improvement of mitochondrial function.Yinghuan Wu Ran Zhao Minxia Li Huiyun Li Zhengwang Chen Yanying Zhao 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,6:3
15Enhanced carbon acquisition and use efficiency alleviate microbial carbon relative to nitrogen limitation under soil acidification显示文摘Background:Soil microbial communities cope with an imbalanced supply of resources by adjusting their element acquisition and utilization strategies.Although soil pH has long been considered an essential driver of microbial growth and community composition,little is known about how soil acidification affects microbial acquisition and utilization of carbon(C)and nitrogen(N).To close the knowledge gap,we simulated soil acidification and created a pH gradient by adding eight levels of elemental sulfur(S)to the soil in a meadow steppe.Results:We found that S-induced soil acidification strongly enhanced the ratio of fungi to bacteria(F:B)and microbial biomass C to N(MBC:MBN)and subsequently decreased the C:N imbalance between microbial biomass and their resources.The linear decrease in the C:N imbalance with decreasing soil pH implied a conversion from N limitation to C limitation.To cope with enhanced C versus N limitation,soil microbial communities regulated the relative production of enzymes by increasing the ratio ofβ-glucosidase(BG,C-acquiring enzyme)to leucine aminopeptidase(LAP,N-acquiring enzyme),even though both enzymatic activities decreased with S addition.Structural equation modeling(SEM)suggested that higher C limitation and C:N-acquiring enzyme stimulated microbial carbon-use efficiency(CUE),which counteracted the negative effect of metal stress(i.e.,aluminum and manganese)under soil acidification.Conclusions:Overall,these results highlight the importance of stoichiometric controls in microbial adaption to soil acidification,which may help predict soil microbial responses to future acid deposition.Tianpeng Li Ruzhen Wang Jiangping Cai Yani Meng Zhirui Wang Xue Feng Heyong Liu Ronald F.Turco Yong Jiang 2021Ecological Processes2021,10,1:2
16Temporal and Spatial Variation of Phytoplankton Community and Main Pollution Indicators in the Cyanophyte Enrichment Area of North Dianchi Lake显示文摘[Objective]The study aimed to discuss the temporal and spatial variation of phytoplankton community and main pollution indicators in cyanophyte enrichment area of northern Dianchi Lake. [Method]In the cyanophyte enrichment area of northern Dianchi Lake,phytoplankton community,chlorophyll a,total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) concentration had been monitored monthly from January 2007 to December 2011,and the temporal and spatial variation of phytoplankton community and main pollution indicators were analyzed. [Result]From January 2007 to December 2011,algal diversity in the area increased slightly,and algal diversity in the alongshore region was less than that in the offshore region; chlorophyll a,TN and TP concentration decreased in the alongshore region,but it was otherwise in the offshore region; chlorophyll a,TN and TP concentration in the alongshore region were higher than those in the offshore region. 17Contribution of ultrasonic to microstructure and mechanical properties of tilt probe penetrating friction stir welded joint显示文摘Tilt probe penetrating friction stir welding(PFSW)was an innovative technology proposed in recent years to avoid the formation of kissing bond in the root of joint.However,with the heat input decreasing,'S'line or zigzag line was easily introduced in the PFSW joint.In this study,ultrasonic enhanced tilt probe penetrating friction stir welding(U-PFSW)was developed to solve this problem and achieve improved joint mechanical properties.The experimental results confirmed that U-PFSW was a potent technology to completely clear the original butt surface,providing a crucial prerequisite for the achievement of highstrength joint.The application of ultrasonic improves the joint tensile strength and fracture elongation from 336 MPa and 4.3%to 359 MPa and 6.8%,respectively.Furthermore,the strength of stir zone was also increased from 391 MPa in PFSW to 420 MPa in U-PFSW.Analyses of texture and precipitate indicated that the dynamic recrystallization(DRX)and precipitation strengthening were both enhanced by the ultrasonic.Ultrasonic-enhanced DRX enabled a complete elimination of the'S'line;the enhanced precipitation strengthening by vacancy-induced mechanism in U-PFSW was the intrinsic reason for the significantly improved mechanical properties.Yanying Hu Huijie Liu Dongrui Li 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,26:2
18Marsdenia tenacissima injection induces the apoptosis of prostate cancer by regulating the AKT/GSK3β/STAT3 signaling axis显示文摘Marsdenia tenacissima injection,a standard Marsdenia tenacissima extract(MTE),has been approved as an adjuvant therapeutic agent for various cancers.Our previous study showed that MTE inhibited the proliferation and metastasis of prostate cancer(PCa)cells.However,the underlying mechanisms and active ingredients of MTE against PCa were not completely understood.This study revealed that MTE induced significant decreases in cell viability and clonal growth in PCa cells.In addition,MTE induced the apoptosis of DU145 cells by reducing the mitochondrial membrane potential and increasing the expression of Cleaved Caspase 3/7,Cyt c,and Bax.In vivo,DU145 xenografted NOD-SCID mice treated with MTE showed significantly decreased tumor size.TUNEL staining and Western blot confirmed the pro-apoptotic effects of MTE.Network pharmacology analysis collected 196 ingredients of MTE linked to 655 potential targets,and 709 PCa-associated targets were retrieved,from which 149 overlapped targets were screened out.Pathway enrichment analysis showed that the HIF-1,PI3K-AKT,and ErbB signaling pathways were closely related to tumor apoptosis.Western blot results confirmed that MTE increased the expression of p-AKT^(Ser473) and p-GSK3β^(Ser9),and decreased the expression of p-STAT3^(Tyr705) in vitro and in vivo.A total of 13 compounds in MTE were identified by HPLC-CAD-QTOF-MS/MS and UPLCQTOF-MS/MS.Molecular docking analysis indicated that six compounds may interact with AKT,GSK3β,and STAT3.In conclusion,MTE induces the endogenous mitochondrial apoptosis of PCa by regulating the AKT/GSK3β/STAT3 signaling axis,resulting in inhibition of PCa growth in vitro and in vivo.LI Xiaolan HE Songhua LIANG Wei ZHANG Weiquan CHEN Xin LI Qiaofeng YANG Xin LIU Yanying ZHU Dan LI Li LIU Buming SU Zhiheng CHEN Jie GUO Hongwei 2023Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2023,21,2:2
19Towards Fast and Efficient Algorithm for Learning Bayesian Network显示文摘Learning Bayesian network structure is one of the most exciting challenges in machine learning. Discovering a correct skeleton of a directed acyclic graph(DAG) is the foundation for dependency analysis algorithms for this problem. Considering the unreliability of high order condition independence(CI) tests, and to improve the efficiency of a dependency analysis algorithm, the key steps are to use few numbers of CI tests and reduce the sizes of conditioning sets as much as possible. Based on these reasons and inspired by the algorithm PC, we present an algorithm, named fast and efficient PC(FEPC), for learning the adjacent neighbourhood of every variable. FEPC implements the CI tests by three kinds of orders, which reduces the high order CI tests significantly. Compared with current algorithm proposals, the experiment results show that FEPC has better accuracy with fewer numbers of condition independence tests and smaller size of conditioning sets. 20Glucose-responsive erythrocyte-bound nanoparticles for continuously modulated insulin release显示文摘Glucose-responsive closed-loop insulin delivery systems represent a promising treatment strategy for diabetes,but current systems generally cannot achieve long-term effects.In this study,we designed an erythrocyte-biomimetic glucose-responsive system(EGRS)by coupling glucose-responsive nanoparticles(GRNs)to red blood cells;these nanoparticles exhibited the dual functions of glucose-responsiveness and persistent presence in circulation.GRNs are generated by encapsulating with insulin through ion crosslinking,followed by coloading with glucose oxidase(GOx)and catalase(CAT),a process that endows the nanoparticles with glucose-responsiveness.Simultaneously,the GRNs are coupled with red blood cells to camouflage them from the immune system,therefore,these erythrocyte-coupled GRNs can circulate in the blood for a long time.Under conditions of hyperglycemia,GOx acts on blood glucose to produce gluconic acid,which causes the rupture of GRNs and efficient release of insulin.Conversely,insulin is only released at the basic rate during hypoglycemia.Thus,EGRS can efficiently and continuously respond to hyperglycemia to maintain blood glucose levels within the normal range.Xiaomin Xu Yani Xu Yuai Li Min Li Leilei Wang Qiang Zhang Bingjie Zhou Qing Lin Tao Gong Xun Sun Zhirong Zhang Ling Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,6:2
